so I've been thinking more about Star Wars oh we're doing this again main Last Shadow okay Y and I want to know so they jump into hyperspace the chips follow them yes and they all freak out and go the only possible explanation for this is they can track us through hyperspace yes why is no one thinking that maybe there's a spy are we really call back we're here now we really going to talk about Star Wars is that what we're doing welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy why is their first thought that there's something so unlikely that's impossible that's what's happening

instead of someone probably just called ahead told them where we were they did show in Rogue one uh hyperspace tracking right yeah but that was no one years ago I feel this like the script for The Last Jedi has a couple of holes in it not not to hop on about it again I'm sorry that I I just got in my head I don't know why it's fine look I my mind was blown the other day I sent you this I I was sure right when I saw attack of the Clones that uh when Obi-Wan goes to Camino talks to the the you know the kamino ones yep about the cloning the very very people just dawned on me that there must be only one species on that planet cuz otherwise why would they name the planet after him yeah that's right that's that's how

planets work or or species name the species after the planet rather like you have a planet of tusken rers we're earthlings you got a planet of Ewoks yeah that's suppose that's but I think uh I think other creatures would be considered earthlings too right oh maybe maybe there's other creatures on the C anyway I digress on that entirely water Planet yeah cuz that's how Styers works it's mind you though we we always point that but but I'll put it to you that most planets that we know about have a single terrain yeah Earth is pretty diverse if if you look at Earth from far enough away you'd assume it was only water two yeah probably true but in in Attack of the Clones they tell Oban that

codus ordered the creation of the Clone Army and I took that from from when I saw it in the cinema up until two days ago I'm I'm sure it was heavily implied that that was just a stupid pseudonym for Darth cidus absolutely was it was just it was just them mispronouncing Darth cidus right either that or well yes mispronouncing or that was his [ __ ] genius pseudonym except apparently I learned the other day in the Clone Wars car cartoon there is a character called codus who was a Jedi who thought there was going to be a war so he ordered the Clone Army and then I was like the [ __ ] no that's that that kind of goes against the plot of the film the whole thing

makes no sense mind you that that's as dumb as them suddenly deciding that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father even though there were conversations about them being two different men that we'd already heard a new hope so should really be surprised but no even going off this whole story line why would a Jedi that are so good decide to go with a Criminal as the person they're going to create this Army after well maybe he didn't pick D Jango maybe maybe he just employed the long neck people and they were like oh we'll just we'll see we can get then it just doesn't make it it's just and worse than that the the the Reon right is that apparently in in one of the drafts at one point point originally it was Psy Odus was the was the name

which is clearly it was cious but then George Lucas made a typo and wrote cyoas and went oh I like that better and then changed it and then they realized that it was very unclear what was happening and uh and then there was kind of of it became unclear whether it was a separate person or it was if it was cious and then George just left it that way oh wait we're talking about movies that don't exist so let's just move on I know I don't want but my my point is simply that it seems really really stupid to start making fun of Star Wars movies uh we we could find faults in all movies yes Dave must die except plenty of faults in that except the original trilogy no fault there so how we been this week guys good the rain came and washed away all my

snow so you don't have to pay a man to do it for you anymore is that some kind of uh like code have have operatives in the field just activated now no I was just disappointed cuz we had we had like so much snow I'm sure I sent you guys photos of of all the snow disappointed 48 CM I believe that's yeah it was it was quite quite a lot of snow you were complaining last week about it because that's because I couldn't get out of my driveway I got that sorted and then uh and then it looked really pretty around driving around but then it warmed up a little bit rained and now it's just all gone like it's just back to being you know winter with some no trees without foliage there's nothing nothing special this all it just turns into this awesome

backyard that just backs onto a forest looks like a out of a picture maybe the deer will wander back in now yeah there is there have been some de there um it does look like the uh the setting for the Evil Dead remake in my backyard I will say that oh yeah yeah you mean the the Remake that we will do get out of [Laughter] there it's a great movie really is oh speaking of stars let's get this out of the way I just saw this this week and it reminded me that this this had been a thing for a little while do you remember there was briefly something called Star Wars detours made by um Seth Green the and the Robot Chicken people I I remember it was announced there were trailers for it then nothing else

because as soon as Disney bought Star Wars they canceled it apparently immediately because because it looked [ __ ] awful but no this was even before Disney purchased it wasn't it uh my understanding based on this little article that just mentioned it the other day cuz I was like oh yeah that was a thing said that once the purchase was finalized the project was thrown out the window I wonder how far along they were in the project well they had trailers those trailers were out for a while now right yeah those trailers came out well before the purchase so I think they might have been early trailers but it actually looked like the trailers were pretty much like the show like it was ready well somebody in the comments on this article has said you never saw a whole

episode I did 39 of them Matt Seth and Todd's work was brilliant so they exist they made presumably 39 episodes of this thing and then Disney canand so just release it a lot of [ __ ] episodes It's probably it was probably too crude and you know Robot Chicken style for uh Disney I don't know I thought it looked garbage based on the trailer yeah but I [ __ ] hate robot chick I think robot chicken's garbage yeah well if I remember the trailers correctly it was just Robot Chicken yeah I'm pretty sure like same voices same humor yeah yes it was you know what I don't think they've scrapped it entirely I just think maybe it was a little too similar to the Han Solo Standalone film

uh which apparently they're debating whether not to release at this point what [ __ ] hell Star Wars really yeah that's what I hear no more Star Wars come on yeah but still honestly if you debating it just take another year and do it again well that's what they're doing I mean they're basically ring the whole thing yeah there's more reot more re-shoot at at the start of February apparently which is not unusual they did for I'm going to go out there and say I'm okay if we have a year without a Star Wars movie I've had more than a year before remember when Star Wars was special [ __ ] hell remember when old men didn't have podcasts where they just

cry about kids shows that they liked when they were kids they don't like anymore I know that's all we that's what we've become they was right this was a this is always gonna just spiral into us he [ __ ] remember when Star Wars was good begin of old men oh where we going we're going Ridley Scott we're going Stanley we've got so many old men to talk about today I don't like the stanlee one I okay Stanley is uh is the latest he probably isn't the latest it's been been a day or two so probably been more definitely some since yesterday yeah [ __ ] hell he's one of the most recent I guess maybe that's not even accurate anymore he has been accused of

sexual assault that's let's start with that yeah um now this is a man in his 90s and this is not back in the day this is not someone dredging up some old horror story from the past this is the women who currently work for him telling the press that he is constantly trying to coers sexual favors from them well well now to be fair this is a source has said this um his people have said there is no there's been no uh word to them about it no everyone's people said that no one's suing him no one has has raised any legal issues this is just somebody has gone to the press to say this and they they're saying it's not true so bearing that in mind yeah apparently he's a dirty old man allegedly yeah which wouldn't surprise me because this

is a thing that old men do apparently some people have said yeah people older people once they uh kind of degrade a bit they their filter tends to dissolve and unfortunately old men do this so maybe it's true maybe it is maybe it's not maybe that's a gross generalization who knows I'm not an old man yeah I am an old man it will be interesting to see I mean maybe this is just one of the ones that'll go away uh if it sticks around though I'm sure Disney are going to probably put a cap on him starring in any more of their films and Cameo rolls yeah yeah definitely man come on Stan he was so nice when I met him he didn't try to molest me at

all that makes he's also death yeah he didn't hear you going you can molest God you're allowed to touch me so you don't have to hear molest I'm told Jesus um his current carers have said he is polite kind and respectful so be clear about that mhm so maybe this is just like Elijah douch you you read hers today no this doesn't have to go on the podcast if this is too heavy but Elijah came out today she posted a message on Facebook um saying she was raped by the stunt coordinator on True Lies when she was 12 Jesus oh God yeah [ __ ] hell Hollywood is just a [ __ ] [ __ ] hole it's a [ __ ] Cesspool

man Jesus I'm happy though that something's finally happening about it though cuz it's not something I can do anything to stop I know is anything happening or is yeah Luke cannot control Behavior yeah I mean where you going with this Luke no well cuz it's always been insinuated that all this stuff does happen behind closed doors but yeah I'm not in a position to do anything about it I'm not there it's I feel like maybe maybe I guess we're like I feel there's a [ __ ] crimes coming out of this but we've we've been just through like interest and and you know like we've done film kind of stuff I feel like we're like a little closer to it than normal people are like not normal people what have you been doing no no what I'm saying is we have known that stuff like

this goes on God look this is just what the terrorists want we're all accusing each other this is like that episode of Peep Show where they keep trying to sanction everybody but has your average man on the street or woman known that this stuff goes on in Hollywood or definitely like so I just how is this rumors like I just finished playing LA Noir there's a whole EP crime about that and it's just all turned the other way and let it go okay well I'm glad something's being done about it then as well I just it just seems so weird to me that that why didn't it happen before why didn't anyone give a [ __ ] before because it was uh women have more rights now and back when this all started women had no rights it just keep

your mouth shut if you want to work and then that sort of mentality is sort of stuck within the industry where I mean of course in that yes you're right not as in of course they had no rights just need shut up man I know it's 2 early in the morning [ __ ] me and then but now we're at the stage where finally people coming out and it's it's a shame that it's had to wait this long for people to be able to come out and say how terrible it is and stand up for it stand up for themselves but I'm happy it's finally happening and and I hate that I'm actually surprised at times how bad it is it's like [ __ ] hell but I I find it funny I don't know if you guys do this um but but I certainly I've never done that

never on a subconscious level when I hear about these kind of sexual assaults by men I don't like I immediately jump on the bandwagon and yeah yeah and when I when I hear about it about that I do like or admire I'm like no oh have we heard their side of the story but it's just exactly what just happened with stad Lee right where we were I hope it's not true Stan's a nice guy and then that's exactly what we just did yeah well I did that because I I had read about it and there was very little evidence of it and it wasn't even the people involved that were accusing him it was it was some anonymous source that was accusing him so I mean that's it's not like it's not the same as you

know like duu or Rose mcau or somebody getting up and saying this happened to me this is potentially just someone trying to [ __ ] around and like not saying it is it's just it's you know yeah but imag holds a lot less weight in my book when think what D was saying it depends on who's being accused as to how you react I if it's someone you I do agree a little bit but I'm just saying it that's not all it was in this case it wasn't just that I like Stan Lee it was just that it was also it was just some anonymous nobody accusing him you know in fact he's a 95y old scile potentially man I'm more likely to believe stanlee did it than say George Lucas whoa whoa whoa whoa what are you bringing George luas saying God you heard it I'm using George

Lucas as an example of someone that I don't think look just because George raped our childhood doesn't mean he's broken any laws no I'm using it as an example of someone I don't think if you told if you told me George Lucas you know raped somebody I would have a hard time believing that at first just because I don't I he just does not seem like an alpha male woman he wants yeah you got to remember at the end of the day it's not what we think or feel it's about what actually happened no no it's not our feeling of someone that we a couple of as a sort of kind of bet ones doesn't really lead to a long life like a real understanding of who they are in real life I mean I I'm more mean like when I heard that James Franco was on that list and I don't

particularly like James Franco but I mean I think he's he's he's you know a perfectly fine actor but yeah I think there's just something in my brain that immediately said he wouldn't have to molest anybody would he he's a good-looking boy you know like my there's just a gap in my understanding of how it gets to you're James Franco you're a pretty cool guy and now you're molesting someone well remember James Franco a few years ago there was that thing where he was trying to get a 16-year-old to come up to his bedroom like his apartment yes uh and then that just went away she was 17 so it's h Matt knows an awful lot about this no because I read an article about the James Franco one because uh because I was interested

in a 17-year- old no just because I like I enjoy Disaster Artist and then all this happened and he want a Golden Globe and then all this happened and it's like oh man like I'm talking about years ago no no no I know I know what it's a it's because a girl he was dating uh came out the other day and said that he when they were dating um she was actually studying at his school and there was like a you know like a power imbalance in the relationship because she kind of relied on him like she was she wanted to make it in Hollywood and he kind of had the power to make a break that and so she felt that he behaved in a way that was inappropriate because of that you know uh I think we're talk about a different girl I'm talking about one that he met on Instagram I'm still

talking about that as well okay this was when that happened he was dating this girl and it was a friend of hers like a a he was uh he said that on Instagram he said should I get a hotel or whatever and um his I think his implication is that it was just a joke and that he knew her through his girlfriend or something like that but yes that did happen publicly which is kind of stupid can I ask there's one thing that I didn't quite get because I read these articles too at what point in his career did James Franco teach a drama class um what I don't know the the dates exactly but they students of his at at at his school yeah and apparently I think of Hollywood acting schools I think of like

people that couldn't become actors trying to make a bit of cash by teaching a class in a Scouts hall or something this was apparently a way of him getting people to be in because you know he made he's made a ton of Art House films and apparently the the kind of the deal is you come you learn from him and then he kind of draws from that pool of people to be in his his Art House films but now some of the the is saying the attractive girls mostly just got offered Parts in like nude scenes or apparently there was one or they got off at his part right and they weren't paid very much and uh yeah so if true that is it yes um theam sticking sticking on

movies I've just read one title 12 fans man SN cut before we go on before we go on hold on hold on I just want to I I I just want to say one more thing in closing of the Hollywood argument and that's that this is not new something like seven underage girls accused Charlie Chaplain of statutory rape so hasn't exactly come out of nowhere no Roman palansky uh we've been hearing stuff about various people off and on over the years I think Roman pansy never even denied it he just said he shouldn't go to jail for it right he was like yeah I drugged and sodomized that 14-year-old in Jack Nicholson's pool but it's not a crime her mom said it was okay you know what I read the other day and this I mean is a no way defensive from palansky I'm just saying this is the reason that

he's not being extradited from France do you know why why because no because California has the death penalty and and France uh when they drew up the extradition agreement with America France said they don't have the death penalty anymore they will never ever extradite a French citizen to a location with the death penalty on a a purely kind of moral basis like that that so even if the death penalty isn't on the cards for the trial doesn't matter doesn't matter doesn't matter they will not ex they will never never extradite a French citizen to a a country or state within a country that has the death penalty on principle so if they get rid of the death penalty they just sending him straight over well see that's the thing right probably not uh cuz at this

point it's it's kind of people are saying they wouldn't anyway because they're yeah I don't know that's don't know but apparently that is the actual legal reason why they have not done it it's not because they think Roman palansky is a nice guy I just assumed it was because the French loved Art House Cinema yeah I I actually I think that's what a lot of people think and that's why when I read it I was like oh that's interesting it's there is actually no there there's a the a very legitimate reason for and then if if they would have moved the trial to say New Mexico or something like that uh they might they might send him over for it but uh yeah just because it's California no apparently that's the reason I got a shock that California's got the death

penalty oh lot of lot of States here still do oh yeah just would see that picture California is having I mean you assume Texas still does right yeah but California seems pretty LAX there yeah I mean seems like you can do whatever the [ __ ] you want in California look at Hollywood yeah but people are still they had well they had until recently they had Charles Manson shops and buying pot in California yep yeah how was the California weed Luke H I don't care for weed I just don't just B because you can yeah see if it help with pain no I never but I think I need I will try to get an exom over there but I might just

try and research the type of strain that I try cuz I don't want something that's going to mess with my head yeah that's the thing I don't I like I'm I'm I'm I don't like it when I'm not thinking correctly you know that's why I I'm not doing it you evidently you can get like a body heart and a head high and that's what I want like the body to sort of relax not my head cuz the spot I smoked when I was there I just couldn't focus and I did not you should stop taking it through your head I think you need a a suppository ah a butt bong I think that's called is that the name of this podcast maybe not

dick um speaking of James Franco H you saw a James Franco film this week I think I did I saw a very good James Franco film this week um called The Disaster Artist MH uh and man I I I mean they practically did but as soon as this film finished all I wanted to do was go back and watch the room I'm sure you were the same yeah it reminded me why I love the room and and I haven't read the book that this is based on the Memoirs of uh Greg cero but if if this is even close to what happened then I'm thrilled that they've made this movie Dan read the book honestly because the film while good out of necessity leaves out quite a lot that is [ __ ] fantastic sure it's one of the primary complaints of the

film is that it doesn't even make Tommy wzo look weird enough yeah that's what H was saying because she's read the book and she she said that they're being very kind to him yes yes like in fact there's in particular there's a scene where he just [ __ ] dumps Greg out in the desert and drives off and then comes back and then someone was like even that one scene would just change the whole tone of the film like they went to a lot of effort to make him at least a little bit likable H mind you here's my question because a lot of things in the film qu was pointing out oh Greg wasn't really on board for that he'd already kind of gone suspicious but then to me that sounds like cero maybe just kind of

having hindsight and painting himself into the narrative a little bit more uh Kinder than he would have like I I think at at a certain point he he must have thought that Tommy was always a cool guy to have gotten involved in all this [ __ ] he I think he found him very interesting at the start because that that story about him being at the acting school and then Tommy doing the Stella yeah performance is true and he he did admire his lack of fear and embarrassment and he wanted to to learn that kind of thing well did and then as it went on uh cuz he didn't want to do the film at all he didn't want to do the room and he he he said no and then it wasn't until actually the only reason he

did it is because Tommy offered to buy him a new car like an expensive car if he played Mark and then there was actually already someone else had been cast as Mark and that's one of the funniest things in the book is over the first week of shooting he told the crew that Mar that Greg um had to do a show re for a TV commercial so he would they would film each scene with Mark in it twice once with the actor that he had hired to playm Mark and then once with Greg but then he told the crew don't film the other guy only film Greg like we're just going to pretend that's what I mean you got to read the book it's like it's [ __ ] ridiculous man where did this guy get his money that's what I want to know uh that is sort of unclear but it is kind

of uh Greg makes guesses about it um and the theory is that he he's he was born in Poland he moved around he ended up in America because he he just loved the idea of America and when he got to San Francisco he got in early enough that he made money selling um selling souvenirs down on the at San Francisco you know down at the uh you know where I mean Fisherman's Warf yeah we've been that down yeah yeah he um he made money selling souvenirs and stuff down there enough to buy some real estate in what is now very expensive area of San Francisco and he rents out the building that's apparently that's his theory well he's certainly an interesting person have you seen that

second film that they made together I think it's best friends besties yeah besties or whatever it is yeah I definitely want to see it I wish there was some way we could all see it together we could watch it on Skype somehow just watch it at the same time have you seen the room Luke you did you come with us no I still haven't seen it yet I think Luke if you watch The Disaster Artist you might be compelled to go and see the room just to just to check how bad it is yeah that's right I've seen bits and pieces I know how bad it is and I just yeah just have not g around to it so good it's kind of a perfect storm of bad yeah it is because like some of the other two so bad that they're good films that I've watched are not actually good

you know and I'll controversially say even plan n from out of space like it's really hard to watch that movie it's just [ __ ] yeah but the room the room I can watch over and over yeah it's just so funny it's like it it knows it's bad but then it gives you gratuitous sex scenes that go on and on yeah flat twists that go nowhere oh yeah I definitely have breast cancer just never comes up again yeah the test results are back all right so weird did you did you watch the the scene after the credits you know what I didn't realize there was one and then I read about it online and so I up on it so yes I absolutely did so good it was supposed to be in the film but then um they felt that it interrupted the the

kind of the film because everybody would just would just focus on that so yeah sure so funny yeah well you w a Best Director Golden Globe for it yeah which is kind of ironic right yes and did you see Tommy went to grab the microphone yeah yeah I saw that and I found that amusing just yeah no you're not touching that oh I want to know what he would have said oh some word salad yeah he's a funny guy we're uh hopefully going to see a screening of the room with Tommy and Greg in London at the Fantastic so we'll see hopefully maybe I can get uh get a quote from him for on the show imagine that I watched a film this week I watched two films two films both

starring Luke's favorite actor Dwayne The Rock Johnson M he is very good I got to say he is he's a great actor he's [ __ ] Flawless yeah he he is then he's really good like he's he's Charming he's like he's solid he's not gonna you know he's not a dramatic actor but he's solid like sure yeah I mean you know he doesn't do a bad performance yeah and he he he doesn't do films where you could really say oh he didn't sell me on the you know the the emotional depth of his character yeah he knows his limits exactly so I watched Baywatch which I watched it before Luke did so so Luke you still haven't seen this I've seen it no I've seen it I saw a few weeks ago

yeah what did you think of it it's it's nothing to do with Baywatch it well it is and it isn't it's a parody of Baywatch almost yeah that's yeah that's best way to describe oh it is it's a lot of dick jokes yeah a a lot of dick jokes and it's just completely over the top and it's just it's a fun movie it was [ __ ] awesome man I I laughed my ass off I I I I don't understand why people were so hard on it because unless they were just expecting it to be something else because I thought it was really funny yeah I think people were expecting something completely different defitely not what we got they constantly point out the Ridiculousness of the fact that lifeguards are like solving crimes like people wait is that what bayat is about lifeguards that solve

crimes well yeah yeah I don't think I've ever seen bayat I'll be completely honest like the rock plays Mitch the same character as David Hasselhoff from the show right and he constantly refers to himself as lieutenant and he he shows up at a party with like a shirt with like uh you know like little pins on it like P rank pins and he like pulls tries to pull rank with a police officer at one point and the police officer's like you're a lifeguard like when you chase a criminal it's just a guy chasing another guy it's really funny and then yeah even Um Zack Efron shows up and uh and then they're going through they're like all right so there's people trying to smuggle diamonds uh up onto the beach in their surfboards what are you going to

do and he's like I don't know call the police like's like no you're not getting it someone's going to protect the beach yeah I really I liked it and then there's a scene where uh they break into a morg to examine a dead body and he makes him check he goes you have to check his taint for needle marks so they can figure out how he died and it's hilarious yeah it's uh yeah yeah watch it Dan it's funny yeah yeah well I mean you were right about Zoolander too so mhm is better than zand it's very crude it's very ridiculous uh and it's definitely not a uh I guess what you call you know it's not a loving remake of Baywatch that people who love the show are going to watch and be like oh are they really captur the essence of the show it's not

that at all it's just a [ __ ] like the top kind of comedy action film okay well I mean got a lot of over the top comedy action films are you know they're my jams so a scene where one of the new recruits gets his dick caught in a deck chair because he's choking on food and CJ one of the girls uh who all they wear you know very revealing bikinis which makes no sense and they make they address that at one point she goes what uh why do the swimsuits ride so high up our butts and then one of them goes oh it helps us swim faster they go oh okay um he's choking and then she runs up and gives him the highl maneuver so he gets an erection and Dives onto a deck chair to hide it and then gets his

dick stuck and then that's that wonderful scene where the rock is like don't worry mate it's happened to me too I was once stuck inside of a woman for [Laughter] days yeah wow okay the rock swear as much oh and Andreas also thumbs up it's also starring The Rock it's dumb uh but it's great yeah that I haven't seen yet now is San Andreas from the makers of geostorm because they sound pretty similar I thought it was the same director it's not I think it's just the same producer because I'm sure I've I I saw from the something of San Andreas when I saw trailers for geostorm not the same director right but uh but San Andreas Stars what's that guy guy from um he's nor he's a character

actor kind of he was in Warren he was rhino in the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that [ __ ] terrible movie oh um you know what's his name the bald guy and he sometimes has a beard right yeah what's his name what kind of think of his name [ __ ] this is not yeah I know I'm gonna kick myself when I when I see it Paul jimarti Paul jarti yeah Paul J yeah he stars as scienceman who uh who discovers that they can predict earthquakes just before earthquakes happen uh and when they tested out his his friend Asian science man gets killed in in an earthquake that destroys the huam um and then they discover that the

uh San Andreas fault is is about to go off with a 9.8 or something on the rck it's like the the worst ever and then it destroys Los Angeles and San Francisco and just everything and then um the rock is a is a rescue helicopter pilot who just [ __ ] abandons his job to save his wife and child and presumably lets a bunch of other people die but uh yeah and it's got [ __ ] he flying a helicopter as buildings are collapsing and Jenna's like just [ __ ] fly up like what are you trying to fly under them for uh and then uh yeah there's a [ __ ] tsunami in it and it's great yeah sounds good you guys just working through all of the disaster

movies yeah Disaster Artist San Andreas geostorm I don't know what's next we'll see you can see in San Andreas 2 soon [ __ ] yeah has a rock in it um I don't know but I just saw that now making a sequel The Rock's really good I'm actually I'm I'm I might be on board with you Luke I've been telling you very he's very fun to watch in movies I got to say like I think he's just gotten better with age he's very Charming like I don't know I like I like watching him do things in films I got to say you asked about the Justice League yeah I just saw the 12 fans are demanding the SN cup why are 12 are these 12 that's me being a bit factious if you click through the article no no well it's accurate in a way click through the article um people are

demanding the Zack SNY version of Justice League because they think that that it got screwed up by Jos in the thing that doesn't exist yeah because he quit before any of that had been done but then they they kind of protested outside Warner Brothers headquarters and if you click through to that picture there in the tweet and have a look at the photo um that is you can that that's it that's the protest yeah and uh a yeah and then one of the the first reply in the in the thread on Twitter is go protest against the occupation of [Laughter] Palestine yeah but I love it says release the SN cut like there was a and they're just holding back on it no he

didn't get to finish the movie he they severals with director yeah and the point is if the film had been very profitable there might be a reason for them to pay to make one like to get him back in to finish it his way or do whatever but the film was a flop so it's very unlikely that this is going to happen unless they think they can sell more copies of it you know but that that's nothing they'd have to go back and film and they're not going to do that well either that or he would have to he'd have to just construct it from what what he's got no I reckon they should release his cut just up to where he filled yeah and everyone can be like oh why isn't it uh why isn't it

complete this is my cut this is all I did it's a bad movie have they given up yet DC well they DC I guess not no I mean Wonder Woman Wonder Woman was very successful well have you seen that because of that we're getting a black widow movie maybe yeah I did see that and to me I cuz they're going to write the script and see what they think and I'm thought that would be the worst character to make a movie of I know not not because not because she's a woman just because she's not interesting I'm stay stay I'm staying right out of it she's a great bit play but why not bring in I don't know M Marvel I guess it depends on what your G right if you're

looking at as far as like superheroes go she's not female she's not like a great superhero cuz they are making a m Marvel movie right with um Brie lson uh and I'll watch that that'll be [ __ ] awesome um there we go but uh I I know yeah I agree I think Black Widow no but now you now that I'm talking about it right her as a if it was like an Espionage film where as a spy right cuz she's not a superhero as such she's just a normal human with who's a who's a good spy and a good fighter so if they just focus on that that could be good no screw I know who I want I want a She-Hulk movie sexy Hulk look here's the thing I exactly that's what I mean it's like the worst possible example it's like a giant green woman in like H any clothes like

it's your example of a of equal [ __ ] representation I actually no I'm thinking um have like a m Marvel or She-Hulk and try and go for the younger with the whole Spider-Man stuff so you want a teen shehawk you want a sexy teen you're not doing yourself any sexy teen all right James Franco look here's here's anyone over Black Widow I I cringe every time Black Widow is on screen in any of the Avengers movies I I think she's awful um and I think that if Hollywood are going to start making more films with female Heroes and I hope they do then what they first have to do is start riding interesting female roles yeah because currently they don't not very of M Marvel could be very good so yes we'll see I mean uh Jos Sweden still talking

about Batgirl yes that's good point that was sort of the deal he comes in finishes off and he gets his movie isn't it something like that cuz he's been trying to get back up for a while I like Batgirl and I think you could do a great Batgirl although that see that characters got like baggage too because of all the the dumb [ __ ] they did with her over the years with um we don't need to go into it people who are fans know what I'm talking about oh you talking about the killing joke I'm talking about the killing joke yes and and other stuff too the the female characters tend to get used as props and uh for for inappropriate things in comic book history so wow that's what used to sell Comics yeah yeah and now nothing sells

multipl nerdgasm did you guys uh did you guys hear about what happened in Hawaii yesterday I hadn't and then I saw this in here and I was like oh my God it's yeah so basically quite a mistake yeah if you lived in Hawaii and you have a mobile phone then you got an emergency alert yesterday morning that says ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii seek immediate shelter this is not a drill [ __ ] h 38 how do something minutes later they sent one saying actually that was a false alarm uh but for 38 minutes there was AB everyone thought they were going to die yeah I wonder if um like the plot of that movie with Christopher Walkin and Brendan Frasier there is now a

family living in a in a bunker who don't know there wasn't a bomb yeah I like to think so exactly because they Dr Pepper in the microwave yeah cuz I'm actually honestly thinking like if I was to get that message take shelter there's nowhere I can take shelter that would I would survive a ballistic missile attack I would love I would love to build a [ __ ] fallout shelter in this house and maybe I will just for fun just to have one oh I'm going to see you on one of those shows aren't I those really sad shows where you've hoarded a whole bunch you'll it'll start as a joke Matt it'll start as a joke that guy on doomsday preppers who's like built this shelter and stuff and then he's built he's got a radio and he was like when there's a nuclear fallout or

nuclear explosion is an EMP or he thinks it's going to be an EMP attack or something anyway he thinks it's going to knock out all the radios so he built a faraday cage around his radio and he's like so he's going to be the only person with a radio and then the the camera guy the camera goes camera guy goes who are you going to talk to and then his face [Laughter] his face when he realizes so sad yeah well thank God no he didn't get NED yeah yeah cuz did they say how the mistake happened or anything or no they're being very quiet about it I'm sure something will come out somebody

will get fired oh yeah someone hit the wrong button actually yeah Hawaii governor told C CNN The False Alarm was caused by human error it was a mistake made during a standard procedure at the change over of a shift an employee hit the wrong button maybe they should make it a little more difficult yeah again maybe not yeah maybe you push a button and then it comes up with are you sure yes not are you sure there's a ballistic missile Bound for Hawaii yeah the fact that it says this is not a drill yeah have you heard that story about during um uh maybe I think during the Cold War there was a a case where the Russian equipment malfunctioned or something

like that and they thought there was a nuke incoming from America I think I think you're describing the plot of Doctor Strange Love did did you see this in a black and white movie no this I know that this is a true story I just the details escaped me but the gist of it is and I'm sure it was Russia that they thought there was a a missile coming in and this guy was given the order to fire back and he he just couldn't do it and it turned out it wasn't true there wasn't a missile and and we narrowly escaped like a nuclear war because just because this guy was like I can't do it in Russian let's just get rid of them yeah they're not going to do that let me have one look they're doing all right I mean they the fact that neither one blew the other one up in the 70s and 80s is you know we

we got out of that pretty well considering going to worry about North Korea's ones [ __ ] North Kore no North Korea won't use them and because they know that that'll be the end of North Korea they're insane well that's are well I don't know I don't know if they are actually now that I say that I think they just know they're onto a good thing and they need to keep it up as long as possible yeah I don't think any of them really think they're on a good thing well I think he he thinks it's pretty all right being him yeah but there's just one of them yeah the rest of them kind of want him to just get taken out and for it to not be their fault oh yeah we'll

see complicated this is uh probably not our area of expertise on this show though well speaking if if I might segue into something else it's not our article of expertise article our area of expertise but something that we constantly talk about anyway there was a school in Wisconsin uh recently who set a homework assignment red letter media yes well they set a homework assignment for their students um to list uh three negative uh aspects of slavery and three positive aspects of slavery um and they are now being absolutely crucified for this who thought that was a good idea obviously [ __ ] H I love this too yeah

did the students woman posted a picture of the assignment that she saw her son sitting there struggling and looking confused trying to come up with positives sleep yeah and apparently he'd come up with doing the chores or something like he' really tried to think about it but the school have come out and said the purpose of the assignment was not in any way to have students argue that any slavery is acceptable um good anyway the whole point was they thought the kids would know that they meant why did the people at the time think that it was okay to have slaves but uh that's not how they worded it well how are the kids going to understand that anyway I know like like why did they think it was okay because it had been okay for a long time yeah that's that was the world they lived in

yeah yeah like I don't know kids can really understand that I struggle to understand some of this some of this stuff like how the [ __ ] was that okay for so long don't understand well mat Cotton's not going to pick itself I finished dark Matt oh did you [ __ ] me it's so good it's operating like but by the time you get to the end you're like wait what Y and that the ending is almost a little disappointing in that it opens up too much I know what you mean yeah yeah yeah yeah correct they I I don't feel they needed to go there I know the exact moment you're talking about um yeah but in in terms of a time travel story that doesn't break its own rules

except for perhaps that one thing you mentioned just now uh it's pretty detailed right yeah yeah I [ __ ] love that guy who is like German um mads Mickelson I had to check to make sure they weren't related cuz he's he's very similar looking but he's great very cuz he's got that kind of squint thing going on yeah that guy's [ __ ] intense yeah yeah yeah it's a good show you should watch it Luke but Luke you know how in every time travel movie that they've ever done there's that Paradox of yes but if you go back in time to change something then there's no reason for you to go back in time to change correct then you fix the problem that made you

go back in the first place and therefore you never went back so there you never and then you know time and space would explode it's Paradox right y this takes that into consideration so it like Back to the Future does no cuz back to the fure goes he goes and fixes things and then he's he's the same in the future like he didn't have a better upbringing because his parents were rich instead of poor right yeah this does things were changed and were always there like that there's no alternate timelines that people people think they're going to go back and change something and when they do it Circle yeah they caused this other thing to happen and it's like oh it's really well done yeah it really is oh like in red versus blue maybe yeah I

don't know I don't know man in season three of red versus blue three seasons someone goes back in time to try oh they're up to season like 13 or something he goes back in time to try and stop himself being killed but then unfortunately everything he does leads to all the events that kill him yes yeah like that yes yeah which for somebody who's never if you've never seen that that makes those sentences make no sense because how do you go back in time to stop yourself being killed oh yeah that's a good point when you're already dead oh yeah well I guess somebody has already well see this is the thing right as soon as somebody invents time travel then there's people time traveling everywhere and that's how we know time travel will never ever be

invented cu no one's come back F yeah because if at any point in the future at any point it gets invented people will be traveling to the past and we'd know about it because we would have seen them unless it's like Prim unless it's like in Star Trek where there's a agency that looks after the and they come back and try and stop all the um time temporal portal things I forget or if it's like in primer where you can only travel back to the point you turn the machine on yeah but if you haven't once you invent it then you can travel forward and backwards through the machines but the machines don't exist in the past so you can't go back to the past before the machines existed yes

true [ __ ] that movie man yeah the only only barrier I think with dark is that it is a German language film um I watched it kind of dubbed but I mean that is distracting for a little bit but then I stopped noticing it but I think maybe some people might not like that you can always switch to the subtitle version if you prefer they have both no Luke doesn't want to read but no honestly it's it's such a visual storytelling anyway that I I actually think and I usually don't liked dubbed versions of things but I think the dubb version is better I I started watching the subtitle version for authenticity and realized that I was missing visual cues because I was reading the subtitles we we we left the the the dubbed version on because we were

packing to move when we started watching it and then I just I kind of just stopped noticing it after a while like it just becomes oh that's just how they talk like yeah their their mouths don't quite match in this in this movie whatever in this show but yeah good performances good story yeah good mystery great story I'm interested to see because it got renewed for a second season except the ending makes me worry a little bit that I'm not going to like it as much because it does seem exact the tone of it changes quite a bit in the last it imp it implies things that may be you never know they might surprise us they might do something awesome with it or do something stupid and change the rules but that's the problem with a high

concept TV show right is that once you've made a season of it and you've closed up all those gaps where do you go from there where do you go like there was there was a show called Wayward Pines that I loved yeah it's about Matt Dylan goes to a small country town and he can't leave and it's all mysterious and something's wrong there and someone's trying to get him a message to him that says this town something's not right here and the whole first season is him trying to figure it out he figures it out at the end of the season and then it's no longer a mystery show then it's a Sci-Fi you know and season two there's no mystery it's just what happens in this sci-fi town do you know what I I feel like a show that lost its way was uh what was the one I can't think of the name of it I

think it was was it JJ ABR show the one with lost no no no no no it was the one I think of the name of this [ __ ] show it was about like parallel Dimensions except it wasn't at first sliders no no no it's got um has it got the guy from Harry Potter guy from Harry Potter it's got it had Joshua Jackson in it and it had no it's not the guy from Lord of the Rings who played you know the crazy King who who jumped jumped off the building at in Boromir and far's father yeah cuz I've seed Lord of the Rings someone people people are going to people are going to ride in and be like you dickheaded not seen Lord of the Rings I mean Matt I'm not going to give

you [ __ ] about not knowing this character's name cuz I don't know it either but luk have you not seen Lord of the Rings I saw the first movie and God it was boring the first the first movie was good they got boring after a while gets worse yeah man you saw the good one well there's some good bits in the second one too I'll give it that pieces of the others Fringe oh yeah yeah yeah Fringe I uh so Fringe I thought was fantastic for the first season or two maybe even just the first season I can't remember quite when it happened but then it just kind of changed what it was about or rather when I when I finally discovered what it was about I was like oh I don't like it anymore like it just went in a direction that I was like oh

okay did you ever see a show called awake no it's got uh it's got Jason Isaac's in it who uh I haven't seen Harry Potter but I think he plays the blonde kid's father that makes sense oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but he uh he gets into a car crash with his wife and his son and on Alternate days he wakes up in a reality where only the wife survived and then the next day he'll wake up in the reality where only the son survived holy [ __ ] that's awesome yeah it's amazing it got cancelled after one series because um no one understood it people got confused yeah and um in both scenarios he goes to a psychiatrist because he's a uh he's a cop right and

so they've forced him to go into this kind of counseling and uh the psychiatrist is saying look I can assure you this is the real world and the other one is a fantasy he's like yeah doc but that's what the other guy tells me too that's awesome yeah it's really good awake you said yeah awake might check that out you know what I've been watching uh finally is the killing oh yes cuz I'd seen like the first where are you uh we're just just into season two now cuz I I watched the first four or five episodes of it I think uh on your recommendation but then um I think that was like around the time that Jenna and I started dating and she

hadn't seen it and um and then we just never got around to and I wasn't going to watch it without her so uh I just never got around to watching the rest of it but now we're watching it so yeah right six or seven years too late but but man it's good and I haven't read any spoilers about it which is nice too yeah that's great but yeah it's a good show I'm watching the third season of Fargo at the moment ah I gotta watch that I didn't like season two I did I did I I I thought season two had definitely some good stuff about it maybe not as good as season one for sure but I liked it season 3 is probably a little sillier cuz you know how it's kind of a black comedy right this is probably a little more on the comedy site than the serious side season two

maybe went a little bit serious sometimes but this this is wacky uh and it's great and you and McGregor plays twins oh I didn't know he he was twins I know he uh he win an award best performance or something yeah yeah yeah play twins you in McDonald that's from another red letter media reference um so we Shor you and McDonald we mentioned uh Clive Warren earlier y um and I've uh I've just I've just finished watching Black Mirror oh yeah yes which uh which has what I can only assume is a remake of of an old Clive Warren movie that never really happened because cly Warren's not a real person um but yeah they finally turned kyl

pilkington's ridiculous movie idea into an episode of Black Mirror you know I read an article about it apparently he he mentioned both of the things that happened in that really the doctor diagnosing You by putting on a thing that lets him experience your your sickness Carl Pilkington came up with that as well that kind of rings a bell yeah so I wonder if if that was intentional or not huh I like to think it is then if that's the case and like good on him but I I watched the credits to see if he was credited and he wasn't so Ian he's got a case against Charlie Brooker yeah I mean they must know each other listeners if you don't know what we're talking about years ago when Rick Jes and um Steven merchin had a radio show um Carl Pilkington was their

producer and he one day pitched them a movie idea that he wanted to Star Clive Warren uh and we assume he meant Clive Owen and got it wrong and Rebecca deor who as far as I can tell hasn't made a film for 30 years um and the plot is he gets in a car accident and is in a coma and because she loves him so much she puts half of his brain into her head in replace half of her brain so that her body has both his and her conscious in them yeah and that is an episode of black Mir and they mock him they mock him mercilessly for this stupid idea and now Black Mirror did it and it was great yeah it was really interesting that was funny too that episode yeah I don't want to spoil anything but there's that that scene where the woman's yelling at the teddy

bear that's Fant fantastic she's got it up against the wall yeah you [ __ ] listen to me so good yeah that was great I think my favorite episode of that series is probably the one with the dogs really I thought that was [ __ ] [Music] terrific I my only complaint about that one I I did like it and I thought it was it was very cool and and you know well done and everything but that but I don't really know they usually have like a message and I don't I don't know what the message of that one was no and it was it was it's kind of like the pig one where you're like this is a little off brand right but [ __ ] I would I would

have watched that as a movie you know what I mean yes it's a yeah it's a woman being pursued by these robot dogs presumably in a post-apocalyptic future where we invented robot dogs for some reason that's I mean didn't really like the messages don't invent robot dogs yeah yeah it was warning us that one day our robot dogs will rise against us yeah I don't know normally the yeah there a little kind of a moral or I don't know but I did enjoy it it was good I think my favorite might be um I really liked the hang the DJ one the one about the dating app that was really insightful um and it I've only seen the one where the guy [ __ ] the pig there's better ones than that this the the dating one is about um basically it's it's presumably the future and the

implication seems to be that you have to participate in this because they do seem to be forced to do this um you get set up by this system on dates and it tells you how long you're going to be together like it sets up your whole relationship yeah and you just go along with it it's like like imagine Tinder except Tinder matches you with people and then says you will beat together for 2 years and then you have to be with that person for 2 years and then it's people living out these experiences and then at the end of it it it uses all your experiences to calculate your perfect match and then it will just forces you to be with that person and it's uh it's really interesting sounds terrible well I don't mean that I I meant as if that was real not the show

sounds terrible yeah well that's kind of the that's kind of Black Mirror is they take it an idea like that and run with it to the extreme like that one uh I like I like people didn't like this episode as much as I did I think the one with um Bryce Dallas Howard in last season where everybody rates everybody socially yeah and like your your whole R status in society is based on the rank that everybody gives you so if I Met You Luke out in public and I didn't like you I would give you a a low rating and then that would drag down your overall rating socially yeah so if I met you and I'd know you were only a three out of five and I'd be like oh probably won't hang around with you yeah I probably don't want to hang out God I would be screwed I don't make good first impressions I

grow on people well that you would have you'd have no chance and it's even like she goes to buy a house and like you have to have a certain status level to live in a certain kind of house was really interesting I like that episode did you guys see U that Christian Bale apparently just did terminated salvation out of spite who was he spiting but everybody kept telling him can't they kept asking him to do it and he was like no no and then people kept saying yeah don't do that it's going to be [ __ ] but then Jonathan Nolan was involved oh at one point and and they get along really well and you know Jonathan no does good work and so and people kept saying no don't do that you can't do a Terminator movie it's garbage and then eventually he was like you know what [ __ ] you I'm

doing it and then Jonathan noan left and it became became some salvation that we know and I watched half of that movie that movie made no sense yeah it was not very good it wasn't the wor thing about that movie I'll say that it was not the worst no not even the best thing about that movie was his rant from the set yes yes the world was graced with that MH and he says this is in a is a current a recent interview he says that was a very unusual occasion and a great lesson for him no matter how how much you lose yourself in a scene you do not allow yourself to behave that way and he said that he um he people make fun of him about it and he he laughs about it now and he looks back on

it and he thinks it was funny at the time he did not think it was funny but he has a sense of humor about it now which is good to know because I was worried that Christian Bell was was an [ __ ] yeah cuz he certainly seems like one in that clip but also he's very he he's very intense apparent but then he didn't he like a week after that came out he screamed at his mom and sister in a restaurant that was I I know what you're talking about and I I do recall and I'm fact check me on this listeners but I think the situation with that was a little strange in that they was they were estranged somewhat and they had shown up looking for money that was my I remember that came out a bit later I think and so again a bit complicated so yes apparently he was yelling at his
