Luke wants to make it very clear nothing is ever his fault this time it definitely wasn't I had something recorded I edited I put music on it that's true I went away to London and I didn't configure a way for anybody else to put a podcast up basically so yeah we really need a contingency plan for when that happens again but uh that's all right H and Luke did a good uh job uh while we were away and yeah bringing uh a lot of really undeserved class to this podcast he really does you guys are very funny actually and and you reminded me uh of several things like for example my horse and me uh sorry my horse prins uh yes I was like oh yeah I need to play that and so I've been playing that this week really

you've been playing that that's terrible it's so terrible but it's funny I took some uh screenshots of have you played it Luke yeah I have that's why I know it's terrible that [ __ ] that b you know when you get past the first level and there's that bit where it like she's leaning against the wall and he's got his hoof up like Le let me send you this photo Dan I was wetting myself laughing this game is very funny it gets very boring very quickly though oh yeah I'm sure it's the same it's the same [ __ ] over and over again unless you want to pay to make it go faster I just sent your photo is he getting a little rapy looks like he's blocked her in I mean I do that move too but it's when I'm getting a bit rapy he says do you

want to be my owner oh oh God cuz he's a horse with a man's face yeah so is the premise of this game that he really is a horse and for some reason she just sees him as a man or he is he an anthropomorphized horse I don't know not the way I L saw it when I was playing it was he's actually a horse it's just she sees him with a human face yeah that's that's the impression I got that's that's amazing I didn't play that much of it because also I don't understand why you know the guy who runs the the ranch why is he drawn like a [ __ ] 2-year-old Drew him when all the rest it's not about him he but who cares about him all right people just want to see a woman at a horse with a human face is he

Charming Matt is he a Charming horse uh he's kind of [ __ ] annoying actually cuz you've got to answer questions like the way the game works is Right you've got like the first level you have to feed him a bunch of carrots but he's only got so much energy for eating carrots so like as he eats them his his carrot eating energy goes down and to boost his energy back up you have to talk to him and when you talk to him he'll go do you want to uh do you want to come play in the field with me and then you have to answer like a b or c and you be like no eat your [ __ ] carrots it's it and it seems fairly arbitrary like the answer is just whatever it feels like the answer being like if you say yes he gets sad and he goes I don't have anything for you to

play with and then you and it's like a bad response but then there's times when you're like he's like do you like carrots and you go yes and he goes what do you like about them and then you say oh they're orange and he goes yeah you get it like so [ __ ] weird you have to listen to what he's saying and respond you don't just pick one of the answers at random sorry luk you got to be engaged with the conversation yeah see Luke's just better at dating than me I guess that's the trick I I wouldn't say that that's the trick I'm probably the worst at dating well I mean I'd say neither of us are experts so we got quite a lot of news this week we do well it's been it's been a few weeks since we were all together I mean you've you've been in the UK I was in LA for a week

wow Luke's been holding the forth and I've just been buming around Sydney you've been in Sydney no I haven't I've been in camb he doesn't even know where he lives it all merges together yeah well they're PR fairly close together do you know the Olympics are on yeah the Winter Olympics the Winter Olympic that's not the Olympics people keep asking me oh did you see the Olympic no I didn't I've seen nothing of the Olympics didn't even know it was coming up and then someone told me at work that's oh the first week's done I wouldn't even know how to watch the Olympics how does one view the Olympics oh you can just use your eyes like normal Dan well sure if I'm in Vladivostok wherever the [ __ ] the Winter Olympics are being held South Korea right this year I don't know I I

literally have no idea no idea the Super Bowl was on when we were in uh London as well everyone's like oh did you see a Super Bowl no I didn't see the Super Bowl you know what I realized recently you know how the Super Bowl is like where everyone premieres their big new ad campaigns yeah so it only just occurred to me the other day whilst thinking about it that of course what that means is while you're at home watching it on the television you will see these new ads I would be [ __ ] pumped for this movie are you guys insane that was terrible it's not that first trailer was [ __ ] awful this the T trailer this was all right a hell of a lot better than the last Jedi put it that way yeah

I I agree with that actually no this movie is going to be terrible you guys are out of your mind it might it might be terrible and if it is that's fine because I've seen terrible Star Wars movies now and I won't be surprised but it looks a hell of a lot better than I gave it any credit for up until my yeah cuz my my thoughts on this are I thought this both of these movies Last Jedi I was worried it was going to be [ __ ] solo I was worried it was going to be [ __ ] I watched the trailer for The Last Jedi and thought it does look [ __ ] I watched this trailer for solo and I thought oh maybe it's not that bad like may I mean I'm sure it's not going to be great and maybe my expectations have just been [ __ ] hammered through the floor but I mean it doesn't it seems it seems all

right no I think they've done some unforgivable things in it they've made the changed the look of the Millennium Falcon yeah and they' made it brand new and no apparently not that's that's not the case it's just that Lando uh looks after he he he he fancied it up he kind of you know like a like a he pimped it out yeah like a Honda Civic okay like the lady lock the Lady Luck was slando kin's ship in the books well those are irrelevant Legends yeah mean anything I'm still calling it he's going to win it in a dice battle game yeah I don't know we'll see I want to see chewbaca getting whipped yeah but enough about your sexual fantasy you've got PornHub for that I don't like that story you know

why I like I like to think they're buddies I like to think they want to be together I don't like to think that he just owes him a debt because he saved him from a whipping yeah well I hope they come up with something better than that they' got the opportunity to come up with something cool do we need this money this money [ __ ] do we need this movie absolutely not we do need the M but does it look okay yeah it looks okay and Ron Howard's kind of directed like an old school movie you know like [ __ ] it it looks like it's a little uh American Graffiti inspired right yeah I'm hoping it keep see one of the things about the Last Jedi that maybe put me off right from the bat is that it doesn't look like a Star Wars movie it looks like a normal movie like not normal movie you know

what I mean he didn't shoot it Like a Star Wars movie where all the others especially like force awakens looked exactly like a Star Wars movie so and then uh did as well yeah Rogue one that's what I think they need to get away from having the characters that we everyone knows and loves cuz no one's going to be happy about that everyone's going to get and go with stories like Rogue one yeah I think okay well here's here's something cuz I I don't disagree with you Luke and obviously the next one that's actually just been confirmed now is that there is going to be an Obi-Wan movie and they're going to start shooting it next year here's my problem is you and McGregor I don't want it to be you and McGregor and you know why why because I

don't want them to link to the prequels oh yeah I want all these Standalone movies to be their chance to wipe the Slate clean and so far they haven't done it so far haven't done anything that's directly linked to the prequels and you you discussed this briefly with Hannah the other week Luke and you never addressed something that I was thinking about while you were talking about it you said uh you didn't like solo because they shouldn't recast old characters but then the subject of Obi-Wan came up and you said you and McGregor should play him because he is that character but yes he got recast cuz Guinness was Obi-Wan but that's been done now like now alri or

whatever his name is is Han Solo now it's just the same thing but I guess you just got you got used to it you get used to it and if they are going to do an Obi-Wan it has I think it still has to be igra because if you look at the cartoon series and everything it's still it looks like him yeah I tried to watch that cartoon series recently and more on that later but yeah I think so need to be him but I don't know how they can do an Obi-Wan movie it's got to be him watching a small boy in the desert it's just going to be creepy yeah like there's nothing he can do he's just a Hermit living on a planet now you can't have him running off having Adventures if his Adventure isn't trying to save the Galaxy yeah unless it's like when he's a kid up to it well CU he he

met Quon when he was what 13 he went off with Quon when he was 13 and then maybe it's him as a child maybe but yeah that's no one's asking for that movie cuz Quon was also watching a little boy in the desert and yeah yeah yeah the little boys in the desert Saga that's I've said before George Legacy this kid isan just covered in I want to see some bams dying give us that movie give us that story of how they got the death second death sty plant it's basically Rogue one exactly one two yeah rogue rogue two Rogue two but I think that would be a good movie and that's sort of something that touches on the story that everyone knows but no one no one's got something in the head of exactly what happened so you can [ __ ] what was that I'm going to get

a remix I all I all I all I I I I [Music] I you'll be pleased to hear then Luke that um there are going to be not one but two new Star Wars trilogies and these won't feature anyone you've heard of one of them promises to not even feature the force okay see I'm down with that as I'm not down so much with Ryan Johnson doing them just because yeah I know I don't

like his movies but uh but I'm down with the concept yeah well like my favorite sort of set of books had nothing to do with the force mhm some it wasn't even a Star Wars book I to say Lord of the Rings had nothing with the force no it was the X-Wing series that was just basically W genes yeah yeah and then they had another one where race Squadron was no no they did the force did come into it but it wasn't that wasn't what it was about you just like mustaches it's what it is you do like mustaches you know I I rock a mustache to but I liked enjoyed shaving I'd still have a mustache you you two have pretty impressive beards both of you right now I must say Luke I mean you've had one for a while but Matt yours is getting uh yours is getting like Merlin level so I

was in I was at a bar in London it's a karaoke bar what's not karaoke really it's a it's a bar where all the staff are Music Theater students and they throughout the night all of the the stuff you know the waitresses and the bar stuff and everybody they'll all get up and do a song on on this little stage table thing and uh so we're there uh it was fun drinking with uh some of my brother-in-law's work friends and then I go to go to the toilet at one point uh and you have to go past the front door and it's this couple comes in and they they had like kind of like Scandinavian kind of accents so I guess they're from you know somewhere up that way mhm and she goes oh my God I love your beard and just starts like rubbing my beard and I was like oh have you not had that happen

before too and then and then so that happened for a bit and then she walks off and then her boyfriend or husband or whatever [ __ ] grabs me and goes [ __ ] you [ __ ] you I wish I could grow such a beard and then and then just like walks off I like Jesus Christ did he come back later and and say like I want you to make love to my wife no and do it like I never can the other thing that happened uh the the the restroom the toilet at that bar right it's got one of those attendants in there um which I hate never get used to that the one that they watch your pee and then you wa outside buddy you don't tip people in in England but uh so I didn't so what is he doing there hands out paper towels basically but I get in

there right and there's a couple of people using the urinol and so I go up and I'm using the urinol everyone else finishes up and goes out so it's just me and then so he starts poing around the urinal at the other end and he gets closer and closer to me and then kind of like goes out of my sight for a second and then the [ __ ] mop just pops through my legs and then and then back around I was like to be clear still on the floor right yeah oh yeah yeah yeah he's he's not moing your dick I would have tipped him if he had yeah but uh yeah I was just like all right actually I'm now really thinking this I wouldn't mind that a guy in the toilets of pubs go on it means they would probably be cleaner yeah they they were very clean

verify they just said how long did you do five 5 Seconds they're like [ __ ] that's the record that cuz what happened that was back in the day back in 1982 they did it this guy he he this is the game dragster on the uh the old Atari 2600 and he there you know one of the magazines uh at the time I forget the name of the magazine um you could just submit you know your records and all that kind of crap uh the official fan newsletter sorry from Activision and uh he sent in a letter when he was a kid back in 1982 saying he finished dragster in 5.51 second kids just tell you how well they did well but the thing is it wasn't a serious thing at the time I think what's happened is it was just a newsletter and he said it in they've gone oh yeah cool whatever printed it

but then once video game records started becoming a thing I think the the evidence required was a printed record of the of the time and so they've gone well that was printed and they've accepted it as legit and it's kind of gone under the radar in a sense well actually it hasn't gone under the radar because apparently people been trying to prove it was fake for years and uh and then finally but here's the thing the burden of proof shouldn't be on us to prove that it's fake it's a world record it should be him to prove that he can do it except it's been there for [ __ ] 40 years almost yeah was what at the time cuz now like cuz all the sort of official records for all these old games are sort of done by Twin Galaxies and their rules for trying to get stuff Sub

in and out a lot stricter than it used to be back then yeah I think at the time like basically this guy just kid wrode into a magazine said oh I did this and then they went oh look at little Timmy isn't he great and then at some point they've gone game they've gone yeah exactly they've gone through all the old magazines and they've just put them together for the for the these are the best times thing and it's just gone on from there and then this guy's obviously not said anything Todd Rogers no no he he's he's claiming it's legit well a gentleman on the internet has put together a kind of uh an automated system right to play the game uh the best way you can play it kind of thing and you can't get the time that this man claims he got apparently y

so it seems like it was impossible so either he was mistaken as a kid or he lied no no he he he still believes it is possible well he's still play I mean look I'm I'm only I got to believe this other guy if if anything like I I don't have the the evidence in front of me as such but uh it's one of those things like a lot of the records set back then people have crushed today people have been trying to beat this record or even just no one's been able to even match this record and they've been trying that's me and this guy's programmed a computer to play the game perfectly like to get the the absolute best [ __ ] time possible in the game and you can't do it you can't get the time that this guy got look this guy wants to come out

and prove that he can do it quick I'm more than happy to let him but it's not going to happen no too old well he's he's not the the actual remember um was it king of Kong yeah Billy Mitchell yeah Billy Mitchell's just been C called out as a cheating as well [ __ ] knob the whole I always knew it he was a knob I mean I was supposed to think that after the the way that film was uh they did make him out to be more of a dick than he but he still is a dick I don't tell that there's an old story online I think from something awful where someone said Billy Mitchell came to the arcade in his town to uh to look at the um I'm sure this is fake to look at someone else was kind of trying to do a

Donkey Kong speedrun kind of thing and Billy Mitchell came into town and then the arcade burn down yeah um probably probably not entirely true or a coincidence well the the one thing I like is cuz who was the other guy that was trying to beat the record in King of Kong Steve weeby Steve weeby cuz he was basically said like no we're not going to accept yours you have to do it in real life and show it and everyone but then they just accepted Billy Mitchell's dodgy videotape yeah and he's still he's now also saying that's true well maybe he should come out of retirement and do it live in front of everyone as well well I think he did after king of Kong came out I'm not 100% up on that I think

he did but then cuz I know WEEI beat him again and there was actually kind of a a battle going on for the top uh for a while there so and and I think someone else actually has the the world record now I don't think it's either of them two now but yeah I think it's if Billy Mitchell he may not be the first person to legitimately get a million in Donkey Kong now yeah right cuz that's what it was for wasn't the first person to go over a million or was it just the high score I think it was the high score and then like to get the kill screen cuz if you get to the kill screen screen you can't play anymore so I think it's the highest score possible yeah you got to try and yeah try and get the highest score possible while the before the game decides you don't it doesn't want you to

play anymore which just seems weird to me for listeners who don't know the the the old arcade cabinets only had so much memory in them and so after a while it runs out of memory and there's no more levels and so the final level they call it the kill screen is actually a kind of a garbled mess uh and then you can't get any further than that if you if you want to know more about it watch the king of Kong it's actually very funny you''ll be surprised how [ __ ] ridiculous people playing video games can get [ __ ] drama it's actually a good documentary and also the Nibbler one's interesting as well the Nibbler yeah have you seen the the one about Nibbler sounds like a documentary about some sex pervert please please tell me the documentary is called the Nibbler I can't remember what it's

called Confessions of a Nibbler I nibler it's about the first guy who got a billion Jes and then he found out man versus Snake Man versus snake that's good that's just as good that's just as good as a kid he was the first person to get over a billion on on the game but then he found out that someone else in Spain had actually beaten his high score and he never knew about it and so he actually comes back out of retirement to try and beat it that's cool and does he all right man versus snake no spoilers give and then it's been beaten no spoilers he does do times over it has been two weeks so what do you expect yeah yeah it's been well over two weeks speaking of two weeks yeah right a

movie came out this week yes it did now black panther no no spoilers yet you've got another week to go and see yeah I haven't seen it yet because when I got to the cinema Rowdy black teens threatened me stop it oh man this movie [ __ ] people piss me off no black people are not beating up white people at screenings of black panther everybody I actually I I saw with my own eyes somebody on Instagram uh Marvel had shared a post about Black Panther and someone had commented saying I want to go see it but I'm scared I'll get beaten up and then everyone was like no it's no one's beating anybody up it's [ __ ] [ __ ] on the internet making [ __ ] up like unbelievable you know guys I'm

starting to feel like maybe there shouldn't be an internet maybe you know internet is terrible we had it here to expand our minds and Consciousness and to we got it for porn we've abused it expand our minds yeah no we don't deserve comment sections we don't deserve to be able to post whatever we're thinking and then claim yeah yes y that needs to stop social part of it needs to stop we haven't done it right so let's just stop that part still use it for other stuffff like porn I'm going to use it right now to tell you listeners that you should go and see black panther because it's very good yeah I uh I really enjoyed it what did you it is did you like it Luke yeah I

did um the few bits I found silly um one thing I wish they had a double down on is that when they were in wakanda I wish they had have continued to not speak English yes I agree actually I've actually I know why they did it I read an explanation for why they have the accent that they have because they didn't want them to sound in any way British or American or anything because wakanda is this kind of African uh civilization that was never conquered so they don't have a a kind of colonialized accent or anything like that but I also found that the sometimes made the jokes a bit clunky um but I mean it was fine it's just it was a little odd and yeah I don't understand why they spoke English yeah exactly at home yeah like there's

no reason for them I can understand when they were in other parts of the world speaking English but the second they go home yeah and they're talking about doing the shopping yeah that should beze every Hollywood movie for that yeah I know I know why do they speak English on Asgard yeah but this one I think they should should have gone for it yeah I cuz they well that's the thing they went for this film goes places I didn't expect I thought this was going to be a another [ __ ] cookie cutter movie like the the Marvel on Earth superhero movies I'm kind of getting a bit bored of them cuz they're like they they're fine it's just that they're all a bit Samy like you know Spider-Man was fine it was just you know but this one goes places I didn't expect and it's like the the

superhero stuff is kind of almost secondary like this was just a really good story and uh yeah it surprised me and they didn't shy away from uh some of the political and kind of racial stuff so yeah [ __ ] thumbs up man it's good movie yeah man I'm going to I'm going to check it out this week like they even sort of do touch on like the whole the whole question people got like you con you've got all this technology why aren't you helping yes anyone and it's a big theme of the and they they address it yep it's very interesting we'll talk more about it uh in a couple next week or yeah whenever whenever Dan's seen it next week's fine well as long as Dan has seen it no I'll spoil it for him you know what speaking of spoilers I've really changed my tune on spoilers in

the last few months and it was something that [ __ ] something that we discussed here on the podcast about how like situation the mood you're in the hype that's been there everything contributes to whether you enjoy the film or not yeah and I've actually started putting to this to to the test I I've started reading synopses of movies before I watch them and I find I enjoy them much more yeah I read an article we might have discussed this already that's by the psychologist that said um you if you go into a film and there's a Twist you might like the twist or you might not like the twist if you don't like the twist but you already know about it you'll enjoy it more because you won't get that kind of negative from the from it so overall you will enjoy a

film more if you know what's going to happen well one thing I don't understand is people get very upset about spoilers but they'll watch trailers that is a spoiler they show you exactly a scen shots that are going to happen in the movie it's a spoiler you can't yeah cuz the other thing too is if we if there's a film with a Twist like say like Primal Fear you know that movie Primal Fear with Richard Gear and uh and what's his name Edward Norton Ed yeah I really love that film and I loved it when I saw it at the time I saw it when I was a kid at the theater but I enjoy watching it now even I know the twist is coming but I just [ __ ] love savoring that moment when the when the twist comes like so it's almost like knowing

that it's going to happen doesn't really matter because you can still appreciate it you know yeah cuz the characters don't know the twist is coming right yes and and but that I think that film is a good example it's just done so well that when it comes you're like oh yeah that is a great film I think people are just they they're expected to be upset about spoilers now because that's that's a thing so everyone just gets upset complains about it but I I always I always wanted to know nothing about a movie and I would purposely not watch trailers and I don't know I really I've really changed my tune yeah but the people who are getting upset like they're not you I'm talking about the ones that are on the internet complaining about spoilers they're on

the internet I think uh if I had known about some of the stuff in the last Jedi I probably would have been able to enjoy it a bit more because I would have you know like layia flying and all that [ __ ] I think if I'd known that was going to happen I wouldn't have been so by it when I saw it yeah like well yeah and I think yes I can agree with that because when you saw her basically die yeah it it didn't she didn't fly straight after that it was a little while long so i' gone through all the levels I got to I got grieved I was the denial I got to except and then she came back and then you got to anger yeah right well I tell you I was

suffering I uh I'm reading the June books right and uh they're they're pretty dense these these books are [ __ ] they um and I I was I I knew what the first one was about because I'd read a review that kind of went into spoiler territory right um so I I knew what happened at the end I knew where it went and yeah it had been more than 2 weeks uh since it was published in 1965 so spoilers were out and I enjoyed it very well I started the second book June Messiah and and felt I've never felt so much like a book was willing me to fail you know and so I I read I went and read the synopsis I know what happens now and now I'm just enjoying reading it I'm not going wait wait what who's this what now

I'm just [ __ ] enjoying the story because it's not what happens it's how it happens yeah I'm reading um Foundation by Isaac azimov which I believe uh he began it in the 1930s and he wrote it as it's a bunch of short stories kind of that he wrote for for magazines and things and you it's kind of collected into a novel like it works as a novel at the end but he wrote it from like like the 30s through to I think maybe even the ' 80s uh before he died and it is so [ __ ] ahead of like it surprises me that he wrote some of this stuff back then like he was just so [ __ ] on the ball like it's you know there's some stuff like John Carter of Mars or some of Ray Bradbury's stuff which is a little bit

uh it's it's kind of goofy almost cuz they they thought oh you could just catch a rock up to Mars and walk around and stuff like that like and then you get superpowers cuz the gravity Mar princess yeah like that's that you accept it because it was written back then but azimo stuff is very like it holds up like yeah John John kind of got to Mars because he fell asleep in a cave I'll just remind you like Foundation I feel like this could have been written like this year by somebody even it's about um the galactics Empire is about this they developed this ability through mathematics to predict what's going to happen like through statistics then then these people uh they study this for you know thousands of years I guess and they come up with these equations to

determine the future based on you know just maths and this guy figures out that the the Empire is going to fail and so he assembles this uh group of scientists to put together an encyclopedia it's called I think the encyclopedia Galactica um so that because he knows that statistically uh if they can put this encyclopedia together that way people won't lose all of the knowledge once all the wars finish uh and then it'll only take a thousand years for them to rebuild instead of millions and that's basically what it's about it's [ __ ] awesome yeah it sounds great man asof is uh is next level yeah [Laughter] dead I'd say he's geek of the week except he didn't die recently and uh we've got another geek of the week I noticed we do have a geek of the week

geek of the week I uh no one run this past me look Luke if you want once I've told you this story you can chime in and and discredit this this geek of the week if you feel it's unjust but um this geek of the week comes from an article I read and the headline is this blind bisexual Goose stuck in love triangle with two swans dies aged 40 what I love the way this article is written I know it's amazing [ __ ] amazing the way that it unfolds is just one heartbreak after another it's written let me read you this Luke mhm Thomas from Wan I'm going to pronounce it that way even though it's Wan seems right seems right Thomas Zeal from W

yeah in in New Zealand fell in love with a Black Swan named Henry and went on to spend the next 24 years with him but things got messy when a young female swan called Henrietta swooped in and stole Henry's heart Thomas quickly became the third whe but instead of moving on he decided to help the new couple will raise their 68 signets over the next 6 years it's a duck yeah Mommy why Isom still here yeah just why why is he why does Thomas look at you that way mommy but uh but then it goes on his happiness came to an end when Henry died in 2009 and Henrietta flew off with another Swan leaving Thomas alone

he eventually went on to Father his own babies but they were stolen by another goose named George what Thomas was taken to the Wellington Bird Rehabilitation trust in 2013 as his health slowly deteriorated as well as making other blind bird friends to spend his days with Thomas helped Foster a young couple of Signet along the way that was for nostalgic reason but they said that was for nostalgic reasons and boy did he do a good job they [ __ ] yeah oh he just he always said that he he just felt like uh it warmed his heart to help children like he had back in the day to close it off Thomas will be buried next to Henry at the place they called home following a public ceremony later this

month love so uh with Luke's permission cor on the cob and if it wasn't there when they put him back into his house at night he was not happy so um Thomas the blind bisexual Goose you're our gig of the week we no no I don't think he [ __ ] you Luke that's as heartwarming as stories come no no am I going to have to play the jingle backwards again I've done that before he's not my geek of a week why he could be your geek of a week but it's two out of three so he gets it but I'm still not happy what's what's your problem with Thomas mat have you noticed how subversive Luke has become on this podcast lat I know he's gone Rogue he is gone I like it I like it too he's adding

a bit of conflict missing story he's the new Dave yeah that's right oh God help us I'm going to have to disagree fellas yeah you're a [ __ ] shut your mouth Thomas was a [ __ ] and he died a [ __ ] just Thomas the story didn't do anything for me [ __ ] you are dead inside mate Thomas didn't raise my kids can I uh can I tell you guys about a a [ __ ] hilarious story that I read this week you guys know the author r d right yeah author of uh children's books and uh lesser known as the author of some James Bond films um his last words do you know what his last words were no okay so they were almost really nice right so he's he's lying there in his deathbed and all his family are around him he's in the hospital and just

just before he dies he says to everyone I'm not scared but I'm going to miss you all so much and then he slipped into unconsciousness and the nurse came over to give him an injection of morphine to ease his transition and as she put the needle in he said ow [ __ ] and that was his last words that's [ __ ] amazing I I want them to be my last words as well it probably will be as I rape you to death I saw uh I saw a few movies on planes I don't want to spend a lot of time on them but I would like to see want to spend a lot of time on planes no I don't I

don't uh I saw three films baby driver M King Arthur and the mummy have a guess which ones are those I liked and which I didn't ah look I've seen driver King Arthur mommy you you you put it in the order of your ranking I'm going I'm going to have to correct you on that that's not accurate are you saying that that's the order in ascending order or in descending order Luke baby driver being the best or the worst that is the order in which I watched them mhm on the plane that has nothing to do with my feelings about them okay did you f on yeah I've seen them all I've seen them all okay two out of these three I watched on a plane also okay yeah I flew nor not seen any of them um all right fine

I'm look it's I'm G say you didn't like the mummy I'm going to say you didn't like the mummy as well because I've just heard terrible terrible things about that that's true I did not like the mummy yeah yeah the yeah it's got an actor you're probably like in it but uh other than that mmy yeah oh yeah Nick Johnson yeah sorry Nick Miller Nick Miller yeah Nick Miller um after moving out of his share house has uh has joined yeah the mommy is [ __ ] abysmal and turned it off uh I was on a plane I couldn't look away uh and I I still turned it off I've powered through because I was like I got nothing else to do yeah like I turn this off and I'm just sitting here so whatever um I just watch movies to try and sleep through so

I actually hated baby driver as well which was really disappointing to me because I love Edgar Wright and everyone had told me this movie was good um wow and maybe this goes back to what I was just saying about hype ruining things for me um I I went in this and just kind of came out of it just I don't know yeah well this was a movie that's sort of a bit away from what he normally does isn't it I haven't seen it's very much in his style it's less overall yeah yeah it wasn't as funny overall but I really liked baby driver like yeah I liked it a lot so you liked King Arthur the best no no I didn't so you like the worst what the [ __ ] was this movie trying to be it was a [ __ ] mess I got the mummy was a breath of fresh air

after King arur swear to God that's why you didn't think the mummy that's why you made it to the end of the Mummy probably I was like King Arthur was I was like well it had some stuff that I liked like and it it was it was pretty in parts and it and but then what a [ __ ] mess yeah yeah just G if if you're out there listening and and you haven't seen King Arthur but you're aware of the story of King arur but you you felt it should have more witches and things and that you think it should star some pro football players then this is the movie for you what David Beckham is in this movie it's like like it's a guy Richie film right and so it's got bits like that are kind of like you know snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels uh but then at

other times it's just like a [ __ ] mess of a fantasy film like the start of it was I was so confused about what was going on at the start because it does it's just it's just messy like it's I'm going to go out there and say that I don't know that anyone's ever made a good King Arthur movie Excalibur was all right from me Excalibur doesn't date very well in terms of I haven't seen it since I was a kid [ __ ] long uh I get bored in it when I watch it now uh okay yeah why are we still making King Arthur movies yeah I guess that's what it comes down to doesn't it does anyone give a [ __ ] about King Arthur make movies about something that exists yeah and you know and you know what you know why they can is because he's in the public domain

yeah don't have to pay anyone to uh oh [ __ ] I read a fact this week right do you guys know that is illegal to take a photograph of the Eiffel Tower at night without paying royalties to the guy no to the family of the guy who put the lights on it well that's a problem cuz I've almost certainly got photos of it the lights yeah cuz here's the thing so not the person who designed it that is well and truly out of copyright so here's the thing copyright copyright law in Europe states that 70 years after the death of the creator of anything is fair game right most places in the entire world that doesn't account for buildings because there's a thing called a Skyline Clause basically if you create something that's just part of your city then it's it's fair game uh France opted out of

having a law like that and so for years it was actually in breach of copyright to photograph the Eiffel Tower at all right but it's been more than 70 years since the death of the creator of the Eiffel Tower but it has not been since the death of the guy who put the lights on which was uh in the 30s so uh you can't photograph it at night that's interesting yeah I didn't know that it's ridiculous it is ridiculous maybe I should edit out the bit where iy that's why I detest copyright laws oh copyright yeah it's stupid I know we need them but do we no we don't we don't we don't need them we need something similar to them we need something in place of them yeah yes they were originally just designed so that artists could make money off

their work for a couple of years like it wasn't meant to be this [ __ ] [ __ ] where I invented a thing you can never use it yeah it's supposed to be no one can capitalize on your idea until you've made the money back that took you to develop that idea right yeah um just quickly before we move on I wanted to say something really quickly about the mummy I think this might be the worst Tom Cruz performance ever yeah he was [ __ ] awful almost mesmerizingly awful in this and normally like Tom Cruz is not he's not my favorite actor he's not even a very good actor really but he's solid and he does I think the problem with this film he he's not playing Tom Cruz he's trying to play like a goofy kind ofra kind of character TR to be Nick Miller's

offsider God it was [ __ ] awful yeah like that isn't he trying to play someone who's like 20 or 30 years younger than what he actually is yeah but that's fine cuz he's like he's in good shape and I that's fine it's just that the he's a bit zany in it it like a bit Goofy and funny but just don't know why he agreed to do a movie like this surely Tom Cruz a doesn't do movies for the money and B is at a point in his career where he can only basically pick big star vehicles for himself do you know what I mean like he loved the Jack Reacher novels so he wants to be in them wasn't the thing about this movie though was he basically went in and just said we're doing everything my way I think that's probably what happens with every Tom

Cruz movie I know that this was Alex curtzman first directorial job like he he's a writer he wrote a lot of uh the JJ Abram Star Trek stuff and he wrote uh I think he may written the island and and some other stuff for Michael B um he's a writer and this is the first film he directed and I read remember we we might have talked about this at the time I read an article that said that he had to I think Tom Cruz helped him a lot because he didn't have a lot of experience okay so maybe that's where that's coming from from uh but [ __ ] it's just it was more watchable than King Arthur like CU it didn't it just wasn't all over the place it was just not very good like it it was fairly

straightforward the the movie you know it's just not great uh whereas King Arthur was like went out of its way to [ __ ] annoy me to be awful exactly yeah because the problem is King Arthur tried a bunch of stuff that didn't work I think I feel like whereas the mommy didn't try anything new it just wasn't good Awful yeah so it was more watchable have they given up on that monster universe now I don't know they might planning almost certainly yes because you've got uh Russell Crow is Dr Jackal and Mr Hyde in this MH uh he he was all right I guess and uh and they set up vampires and and the you know the the Creature from the Black Lagoon and all that stuff so no one really cares about them anymore I do like at all people who

count all right their target audience isn't you their targeted audience is lots of people they've proved that with this how dare you they have proved that they did not this Alex curtzman Al no not really but just speaking of people that used to write for Star Trek and then do other things sorry it's a really roundabout segue certainly not the worst we've ever had so I I watched Star Trek generations earlier in the week oh oh I like that movie I think [ __ ] I like it too Luke you're going rogue again you [ __ ] going against going again that one's just been a while since I saw there a way Kirk dies no look a hero no he knew he was always going to

die alone yep and he doesn't so when I first saw this obviously when I was like 14 years old uh I had no idea that it was written by Ronald D Moore um because I had no idea who that was at the time and because he had didn't know that either written Battle Star Galactica at that point so wouldn't have by him now yeah just now it was and when you when you watch it now it it does have a lot of those kind of themes that Ronald brought into the BSG series and I really like it look star Che Generations is it's basically I mean it just looks like an episode of Star Trek yes all of the Next Generation films have a particular look I mean it just it looks like a midday special but just the the story and the the concept of the Nexus and and

and uh you've got [ __ ] Malcolm mcdow's character sain you know just trying to get back into it and but then you've just got [ __ ] data with his human chip added in and oh yeah could have done without that ridiculous stuff on the side but even so yeah I like Generations it's got uh it's got two things I like in it three things I like in it Wy Goldberg William William Shatner Patrick Stewart and Malcolm mcdal can't go wrong I know it's a great cast it's like you know which who's the best Captain you don't have to pick they're both in this one yeah there you go yep chain way is not in it who's the worst the guy came after cook we'll show him at the start yeah yeah Jan way was the best Captain uh no no she wasn't captain of the I

haven't seen a lot of uh Voyager but I I did like what I saw I should watch more Voyer is my favorite series of all the Star Trek yeah it looks a bit more uh serious I guess if that's I just finished watching it yeah right a few months ago just had it on while I was playing gam seen a lot of Voyager haven't seen a lot of Deep Space 9 yeah they are on Netflix here anyway I don't know about Deep Space 9 I wasn't a fan of H that was just a ripoff of Babylon 5 they tried to add a nine to it to say it's bigger more higher than five yeah good point almost almost twice as good uh we uh have you guys both seen Justice League yeah yeah yeah yeah okay we've discussed it yeah no no I just couldn't remember if you'd all seen it um

um we don't have to talk about this too much I just read an interesting thing the other day apparently uh apparently Zack Snyder was actually fired from the the whole project the whole DC Universe project but then because of the thing with his daughter nobody wanted to say anything at the time and that's why they said that he yeah apparently they fired it because he just made a [ __ ] terrible movie made a couple of them but uh yeah yeah so that's kind of I'd love to see his cut of it then there isn't one you won't yeah no no but I'd love to see it now just like [ __ ] you and this is where I would have done but they screwed me over but I love it I love it that he leaves seemingly because his daughter commits suicide J Sweden comes in to clean up the mess finishes the film

everyone criticizes it CU it's [ __ ] and it was then all of these [ __ ] Zack Snider fans come out and go release the Snider car we know it's in there we know it's great and they're like guys we were just being polite okay he [ __ ] sucked the studio has quoted this film his cut to have been unwatchable so sn's been the one that's sort of been putting together their Universe isn't it yeah well apparently yeah that's the whole point is he got fired from the whole thing now he's still uh and because people said oh he still listed his producer on things like yeah well he will be because yeah that's right he's still got points cuz yeah he's sign on for it we still have to put him there but he's not actually going to

be coming on set anymore that's I think that's the that's the truth of it don't let him on set he'll he'll just start directing yeah he'll do a George Lucas turn up and just [ __ ] direct your movie for you apparently that happens all the time now yeah but I I guess that even even with his Advanced Career Ron Howard still can't go [ __ ] off George yeah yeah I read the there was a story that George Lucas showed up uh and said why doesn't Han do this and then now Han does whatever it was is that that's the story I read is he does he climb into a fridge hey Steven has admitted that that was his idea he said look blame George for a lot of it but don't blame him for that actually I didn't think that was

that bad no neither did that was the [ __ ] that was the only okay scene in that whole movie I thought that was sort of a bit that that was an indie thing yeah I was fine with that there was a lot I wasn't fine with but that was with yeah but you guys speaking of the DC Universe do you know that uh Todd Phillips the guy who does the uh hangover movies and uh road trip Etc is doing the Joker movie really yeah all right and he has apparently just cast Wen Phoenix huh okay cuz this is the weird thing where they're still going to have their universe but then they're also going to have just other stand loans that aren't part of it and people aren't going to get

confused yes apparently I think also if you buy into this whole playing The Joker makes you want to commit suicide I think we could probably say goodbye to W Phoenix then he he is not very good at uh at not wanting to commit suicide yeah at separating himself from his role yeah interesting I'm I'm happy they didn't go with DiCaprio look I think he'll probably be very good uh as the Joker he was very good in in Gladiator as a I knew you going to go there I knew we were going to go to Gladiator he's [ __ ] good in Gladiator no he is he is because Gladiator is a great film damn right it is no but he is excellent together yeah never wanted to watch a guy [ __ ] his sister more

the in the industry if yeah big YouTube so he drove 11 hours from Albuquerque to the couple's home they live in Texas yeah and he's basically he was going there to kill Gavin yep and so me would become his wife he said he wanted Gavin to die alone with no children it's very specific yeah he wrote it in his phone apparently had a bunch of notes want to die alone not even with any children around like okay uh he said he he his his notes in his phone said that he uh he was into Meg Megan tney rather I don't know her so I probably shouldn't call her Meg that's what she goes goes by me yeah that's what she goes by on the internet uh H and that yeah he was going to kill

Gavin so presumably so that they could beat together which that always seems like an odd plan to me yeah yeah well sort of seems weird about he drove 11 hours but then got there and just shot the window to get in yeah yeah he had 11 hours to come up with a better way to get in that window [ __ ] what if he hadn't like Jesus Christ yeah true that's [ __ ] terrifying but here's the thing load early he also had 11 hours to come up with a better plan I mean like it's not like when you kill a king you become the King right when you kill somebody's boyfriend you you you the girl is not obliged to yeah thanks for doing me a favor yeah yeah well I guess I'm with me guess I'm your girlfriend now crazed killer yeah it's like the quickening he absorbs Gavin's

Powers he absorbs Gavin's girlfriend don't know how people can get that in their head and that's cuz that's not even like you can't even go like chrom a passion that's he drove 11 hours that's that's a lot of time to think about it yeah if if nothing else you could think about it the several times you'd have to stop and fill up with gas you know yeah yeah man well no no it is scary what people do to people who are sort of famous yeah a lot of these YouTubers and streamers they're not rich no no there's another guy called ELO Elohim is his tag on Twitch okay what you're not supposed to say the name of God Matt but go on oh is that what that is all right sorry yeah didn't even know no that's all right just

apologize uh to our Jewish listeners sorry I had no idea anyway this guy uh uh this streamer that I mentioned he had somebody he who should not be named yeah show Voldemort showed up had someone show up at his house and lo knock at the door uh somebody who had just walked 25 miles from the airport uh to his house uh from Singapore flew in from Singapore walked 25 miles with his luggage to the guy's house knocked on the door and said oh yeah I came to stay with you guys just some guy from the internet who liked his streams yeah the internet's got to stop got to stop yeah I want to bring something up go on Matt what didn't you once have a little bit of a crush on a YouTuber and

managed to find out her address we're going there we're going there are we I'm going there it's not so much that I managed to find it out it's that somebody [ __ ] posted it like I can't I can't be the for what my eyes see on the no I didn't can't be held responsible for what my eyes see on the a screenshot and yeah I did so what I didn't go to a house did I I just but you kept the option open what what by not removing my legs so that I couldn't like look I'm probably not going to go to a house I'm probably not going to stalk her but if I'm ever in the situation where getting to Dodge's house is going to get me out of a jam oh [ __ ] we're naming her now [ __ ] hell look I met her at PAX

East it was fine after that no police were involved at all chares dropped there was a an incident at that Pax I'm not quite sure what it was but there was an incident involving her Matt you need to stop talking immediately Matt you need to shut up until we have spoken to our legal representative they did a panel they did a panel and it got held up because uh apparently someone had said something threatening to [ __ ] someone a friend of a friend you know [ __ ] but no this is the problem as we was talking the internet we're not doing it right we're people are trying to entertain and people are seeing this entertainment as I'm a part of their life which that's not how entertainment works right no but everyone you're a

part of my life and I love you all send dickpics to [ __ ] 4 at Snapchat and uh everything else or vagina or titpics and forget if you see me anywhere I will give you a hug it's even a little weird right cuz we have we did this podcast right and then people we know listen to it and so it's even a little weird when like if I know people very well right and we meet up for a drink and they already know stuff I don't have to tell them like it's it's a little weird yeah I go oh you been doing this oh yeah I know I heard the podcast it's like oh all right that's weird so yeah and then with [ __ ] complete strangers it's it's just I can imagine so uh yeah don't show up at my house please please don't shoot me you can show up at his
