I've been thinking a lot about the shower scene in Starship Troopers this week I bet you have I think a lot about that scene quite often welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy is that cuz you're friends with uh Johnny Rico now J Rico no it's actually because as we all know the director got naked for the filming that i' I've started to think like why that sounds like look I'm going to get naked as well to make you all comfortable I think that makes it more creepy yeah it does I actually didn't know that story is that uh is that what

happened yeah I've heard that before yeah he didn't want everyone to feel uncomfortable so he was like we're all doing it but yeah now I'm thinking about it more like there's a guy who has no reason to be naked sitting there naked go do that again do it slower faster and more intense yeah it's like Dana Maya had to uh get a tits out so he's like by the way while your tits are out I want my dick exposed I will also you will know you will know how good your performance is by how my dick is behaving I don't yeah that's just you been thinking about that a lot this week I get you but I mean look at the look at the result uh oh yes I think Paul vovin uh apart from show Girls uh has done very

well he's the only director I think maybe maybe not these days but for a long time he was the only director to show up and accept his razi award that's great did he get it for show girls did he man he must have been nude all the time in that that's that's how he got the idea for it one scene in Starship Troopers he gets it off and one scene in Total Recall you know he's got it out um but you know show Girls Christ well Basic Instinct right he did so oh he he just had a mini skirt on for part of that cross leg in RoboCop in Robocop you cross I uncross

I think there's nudity in rer cot the [ __ ] leave scene shot himself the only nudity I can think of is where that guy gets um [ __ ] melted by toxic waste has he got clothes on when when he's this like gross goopy he gave me nightmares as a child mostly just a bit where he gets hit by the car it's so juicy and yeah he just explodes it's amazing no one did violence like the80s no and like if you watched like you watch the remake of Robocop and he goes out like a little [ __ ] like a little explosion happens near him what it's PG-13 isn't it the new one I think it might have because everything has to be these days oh you don't want to offend anyone man no lowest common denominator I

didn't mind the new Robocop I liked elements I mind it like the fact that he was made in China that was [ __ ] great yeah he skapes from the factory and he's in a rice Patty field that was that was neat and I loved the bit where he you're probably going to say the same thing go ahead where you see what's left of him basically mhm yeah where it's like what is real still and it's like your face never show me that again part of one hand [ __ ] me and his lungs I think were there right oh God very I found that gave me nightmares yeah body do you think it's the reason why a lot of these movies are now PG-13 is because like when we were growing up it didn't really matter it was an hour we got to see it but now parents are maybe not letting their kids watch this stuff so I don't

know if that's true man parents don't seem to give a [ __ ] these days parents don't seem to give a [ __ ] anything these days but then again I used to watch lot of R movies like Robocop and yeah they was we all saw them as children yeah we had a weird loophole in my house my mom was completely against me watching our red movies unless I had seen that movie before and then it didn't matter so all I would do is say cop I've already I've already watched it at my friend's house she' be like H well fine then you can rent it fine I remember the I watched Robocop against my parents wishes and it [ __ ] traumatized me the first time we've talked about this before yeah cuz uh just prove them right yeah like you're right Mom I shouldn't have watched it um

I I recall a sleepover movie night luk you may have been there Matt we hadn't quite Met You Yet where former podcast host Dave um was still such a goody two shoes that when we put on an irrated movie I think it was nowhere to run starring John Claude vanam um he he announced to the group that he's not allowed to watch our movies and went and sat in the other room until the movie was over oh aliens is another one that I watched that yeah uh I [ __ ] loved it but I didn't uh the scene where you know they find the woman who's stuck in the wall and the chest comes out yeah that that was something as a kid that I was like oh God I remember the first time I watched alen

was when I was visiting my grandparents and they went I wanted to watch a horror movie and I went he we got a comedy horror movie for you and they put on alien no way your grandparents are [ __ ] sick mate did they think they think they were putting on their end of space balls or something yeah that's all too it was just like yeah like it's don't worry there there's going to be funny bits in it can only Space Balls could have gotten the same actors for that scene yeah the real movie I just I just remember that it was John H not again [ __ ] terrible am I the only one who saw the second aliens before alien before the first one no I I definitely saw aliens first yeah same yeah and the reason I wanted to watch it because my brother uh my younger brother Ben

watched it and described it to me and I was like well I've got to see this movie yeah at any cost that's right yeah I remember because yeah I mean and Aliens is definitely the cool one it's the most fun and exciting I prefer alien I think it's a better film but yeah I did but it was only after I'd seen and loved aliens that I checked that out and went oh [ __ ] it's a completely different movie but godamn it's good but that's yeah that works right because you know you're not just going to make alien again well these days they would but like abely right yeah you can try something new yeah exactly and and find out that it might even be more popular yeah it it is definitely the more popular one Speaking of James

Cameron uh I watched something this week that he was I think he was talking about directing for a very long time uh and he wrote the screenplay for this uh but he didn't direct it in the end it was directed by Robert Rodriguez goodness I watched a battle Angel yesterday how was it I [ __ ] really liked it okay I've heard good things about it I really liked it it came out at the same time as Captain Marvel and unfortunately I think it kind of got lost in the you know in the in the in the fuss over Captain Marvel uh cuz it's all it's uh it's not similar really at all except it has a female protagonist uh and I feel like it's a better movie than Captain Marvel Captain Marvel's fine I didn't is like it but

it's man it's like a it's cyber Punk it's it's about a a a a guy who's like a cyber surgeon in the in the it's not the future I guess it's it's like another world basically I don't know if it's supposed to be Earth I don't think they really bother to make that clear it doesn't really matter uh oh actually you know what it is Earth it must be anyway it doesn't matter it's not really relevant um he finds a cyborg at a trash Heap a scrapyard and rebuilds her and she doesn't remember who she is and it's about her trying to figure out who she is uh well that sounds great and I would definitely watch that uh and also van

it's got van it does no way it does it's got uh Cas vanine it's got um Kristoff Waltz plays the what the the surgeon it's got Jennifer Connelly it's got uh oh okay uh what's his name the new blade he's in it um oh yeah uh God it's got quite a it's got a lot of famous people in it actually and and some that I I didn't even know were in it cuz they're not credited yeah I think it yeah I think you're right it just came out at the wrong time yeah it's it's good it's very like it's not not not the best movie I've ever seen but I really liked it and and I I encourage everybody to see it because it it kind of it's adapted from a manga and it could they could make more of them and I really hope they do I want to see I want to see

what happens next so everybody go out and and check it out all right I will hopefully hopefully it can find an audience uh now after so that they'll let's let's just get behind it we'll just be the street team for it work recommend it to me and I've been meaning to sit down and watch it so all right I got a I got a plane trip coming up soon so I'm I might try to uh might try to get a hold of that yeah it's good I mean it's not perfect it's got there are things about that I'm like it's like a bit slow sometimes is it fun yeah yeah okay y great that's what I'm looking for fun yep it's definitely fun really liked it male 38 looking for fun I know a young girl called Alita that you

might um speaking of recommending good Sci-Fi Luke Luke I started watching something on your recommendation this week and that's uh that's a TV show called yeah that's right I've just immersed myself in Robotech actually I have been meaning to do that to be fair one day me too yeah um no I started watching the expanse oh God it's a great show I I started watching that too but Jenna [ __ ] hated it and so I haven't haven't continued watching it I might watch some today uh it's not a that's definitely not a good reason to to stop watching it um I'm only a few episodes in but this is great it just keeps getting better and better I still want to sit down and start watching season 3

look at I mean it's it reminds me a little bit of battl Star Galactica it reminds me a little bit of Mass Effect in a way like it's just it's it's an interesting story and it's not done so actually I thought this was on Netflix so I went to Netflix to watch it at first and it wasn't there and there is another Sci-Fi show on Netflix at the moment called Ascension and I was for some reason I got confused and thought that was it so I started watching that um yeah that's rubbish that's absolutely Gish um uh it's it's not actually Science Fiction it's just a soap opera in space so it actually was on Netflix for a while I thought so that's probably yeah yeah I thought I bookmarked it but it was it was gone so I had to go originally saw it okay well that makes

more sense but man I'm really enjoying this and I can't wait to keep going and I want a new hat now so oh Ascension I that that show was awesome as well what yeah you got to get it's only there's only like three episodes or something is there yeah it's like a miniseries oh okay it's a murder mystery right this is the one you we're talking about the same thing yeah yeah so the girl gets the murdered on the on the spaceship and yeah no no that does get better and although it does end it ends like those shows where you go oh my God that's great I want to see what happens next and then there's no there's no sequel no season two that's fine but it was it was a good

show look I must say from the half episode I watched of that compared to the like first episode of expanse like I was just [ __ ] hooked yeah yeah get see I I have good recommendations every now and again definitely do this was great and I I can't and I'm glad usually I start watching things well you know like Ascension where like there's only a couple episodes and then it ends whereas I'm glad that I'm starting to watch something that I already know a couple of seasons in y yeah so yeah you know yeah it's not not going to be those ones where you get excited you're enjoying it and then yeah they don't renew it and then you're left there just thinking what could have been it might

oh Capra I liked Capra a lot I never watched cpra Capra started off so slow yeah but it just slowly kept ramping up and and up but just the concepts in it and everything were just like I really liked it but I guess it was just not what was the other one the other spin-off from battl star that wasn't cpra there was another series as well right yeah I think you're there wasn't there just another mov um cuz there was blood and Blood and Chrome I've seen that Blood and Chrome oh yes that's what I want I've seen that too but I don't I don't think I watched Capra is it set before like is it set

yes yeah yeah be interested in that yeah it's got like a dharm as a child and what oh it goes wait Leah dama or no no no no like uh what's like [ __ ] Admiral ad Admiral yeah oh man it's it's him growing up [ __ ] oh man I got to go to Italy and get this after expanse yes but yeah you will but you have been warned that there is no second season to that and if you at the end of it they go on the next season and they show all this awesome stuff yeah that's happen yeah that's a shame I watched uh something else on Netflix this week as well that I I will recommend and it's probably not I've never recommended

anything quite like this before it's uh it's an Indian series called typewriter uh and it is about it's kind of like a horror ghost kind of show uh with uh it's all it's you know takes place in India and they they speak uh I've never watched really I guess an Indian show before they speak Hindi kind of just mixed in with English and which I found really fascinating that aspect of it was fascinating too but actually it's actually really funny um good kind of horror show like reminded me of kind of like a I guess Goosebumps is not super serious but it is it's definitely like it's it's got some uh I guess sort of bloody bits and whatnot it's definitely an adult show but it's it's kind of a little bit Goofy

and fun uh it's about a ghost in a in a house um I don't want to give too much away uh I it was really good we watched there only like five episodes of it uh okay and you would probably want to watch it with subtitles so Luke won't watch it because he hates reading is it is there a dub version so that Luke can watch it I actually don't know but also I don't think I can even watch dub diversions I tried watching Dark that way and I think a lot of the charm of it for me was in the fact that that sometimes I could make I I knew what they were saying and other times I didn't like it was that kind of added to the The Experience depends how closely you're willing to watch it yeah I mean yeah it has subtitles and then every now and then they're just

speaking English and you're like oh I don't need the subtitles but then they like mids sentence switch back and forth I really fasinating I actually didn't know that they I mean I guess that must be just how they speak mhm yeah they they do that here too they they they speak what they call Singlish which is combination of uh the Singaporean languages and English um fascinating yep I've got it typewriters my list now um three keywords that you know Netflix always assigns three keywords so that you can uh search horror keeping secrets [Music] TV yeah it's got the the protagonists are a group of kids uh so it's kind of like that it's like it's not really like

stranger things at all or or and it except that it's you know it's about kids they're kind of protagonists uh except the kids in India uh and that makes them like kind of instantly interesting because I don't know anything about that and so it's yeah I don't know it's just it was good I enjoyed it absolutely all right I'll add that to my list too Luke uh any science fiction series you're looking forward to um well they're finally they're finally getting the the Halo television shows finally happening M they've announced cast now oh have they who in it and any anybody known Yes actually uh the person who's going to play Kotana yes Natasha

Melone I can help pronounce her name you know herone I'm looking I'm looking at the name let me yeah copy and paste this so I can see a picture of her you know her oh she's been in things she's from [ __ ] um trian show yeah yeah so she's going to play Dr Katherine Hy and Cortana oh she's from uh Californication mhm I seen that I watch the first season yeah it was worth watching at the start and it kind of tapered off a bit I wouldn't go back to it necessarily now plus with the woke culture that we currently live in I doubt you'll find it anywhere anymore sure all right like so they're going to start shooting later this year but we still don't get to see it till

2021 just seems a very long time they do take a little longer to make shows these I mean even they even wait more than a year between Seasons now yeah well like they did that with westw didn't they yeah I mean they said Don't expect Westworld season 3 anytime soon yep we're going to make it when we're ready and you will love it yeah and that's what I like it's if if it the quality we get is good then I don't mind waiting I do get frustrated at waiting as well there's enough yeah if there's enough other stuff on then uh you know tide me over yeah but no I'm really looking forward to this CU if they do it right it's actually it's the whole Halo series is actually quite an interesting story

see I always got I don't know I never the story never stuck with me when I was playing the games I guess just I don't know I I I didn't enjoy what was that podcast that came out oh see see with that podcast I forget what it was called but if you had continueed listening yeah and if you when you finish it like it starts off that oh he's just this kid who can do everything but then it just turns into a no they actually track down and they find out that they were all kidnapped as children and yeah I think I might have said first I think you had mentioned it I wish I could remember the name of the podcast but it it it was kind of like delving into the it's the story of Master Chief right and they went back to to kind of learn about him and then and it started off as just this

propaganda story and I was like this is [ __ ] stupid it's just like just you know but then it turns out that's the point is that as it goes on you find out it's me to be stupid yes yeah cuz the even the whole thing about it is like even when they were all kidnapped his children there were no Covenant there were no aliens these were super soldiers being they being basically bred and brought up to fight other humans yeah to basically stop Uprising on the outer worlds and things that's and then as it went on the guy who's reporting on Master Chief is discovering that actually that's not the story of Master Chief and it's just much darker more [ __ ] up story and I and actually yeah I really enjoyed that there was a movie

I watched recently that was like that can't remember what it was though I watched Halo un Dawn and really loved that I haven't seen that it was good I know I I told you before I don't know like I said halo I just I don't know for some reason the story just yeah look I mean I never got into any of the games but uh under Dawn was was a good watch it reminded me a little bit of Starship Troopers like okay like I've read the I've played the games I've read the books like yeah I'm fully into the Halo franchise and that's why I can't wait yeah I'm really hoping they do this well maybe I need to give it another chance well it Steven Spielberg so I mean the man knows how to make a [ __ ] film that's true and I think this is going to make a better television series than it would a

movie yeah I think cuz this St will be able to get a lot more story into it whereas the movie is hey he's going to run around and shoot aliens yeah they would try and just make Halo the movie and adapt the game and make it bad yeah MH it end up being like the Doom movie yes [Music] well speaking of the Doom movie uh starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson oh yeah I saw this article this week about uh you know you got all the [ __ ] faster Furious movies coming out of every orifice at this point yeah I think in the future all movies will just be fast and furious spin-offs um but they've got uh what's the Hobs and Shaw when I first when I first heard there was a Hobs and Shaw and it was starring

uh you know Jason Stam and and The Rock I I haven't seen enough of The Fast and Furious movies to know that those characters from that I in my head I was thinking of Calvin and Hobbs I would love and I was like they're doing that as a movie and it Stars Jason St and The Rock and El is the villain what I was all in yeah that's [ __ ] awesome well this AR article uh was basically about how [ __ ] Macho these guys are and how there's so many of these [ __ ] action star males in this film and they all have these very strict requirements about like basically like how many times they can be punched

versus how many punches they have to give it back and stuff like that yeah no apparently it's very very intense their contracts are very specific um and it even says apparently Jason STM in particular will show up in editing to check on the fight scenes and and be like well I think uh I think if you're going to put in that shot of me being punched in the face you need to put in two shots of me punching him in the face immediately after and that kind and uh there's like there's a section where the uh the Vin Diesel's sister who I think might be his manager or something was showing up for uh the stunt coordinators and then like his Vin Diesel's character Dominic tetto like gets thrown on the ground at one point and she's like he's going to get

back up and lay into him now isn't he kind of him kind of him on the ground and then there was a SE a scene where this is this is why I'm leaving the film indust so [ __ ] stupid but like like they're GNA I don't know it's it just seems odd to me just [ __ ] do what fuing story demands the the the like as we've discussed at length on this podcast in the last few weeks the best Rocky movie is the one where he [ __ ] loses right yeah the best James Bond movies are the ones where he gets his [ __ ] head kicked in like that's why I always loved Indiana Jones he just got [ __ ] bashed you know and then he but he just kept standing up and that's what made him a hero not the fact that he punched twice as fast as the bad

guys there's one about uh there's a I guess in one of them Dwayne The Rock Johnson I have to use his full name fights Vin Diesel and then there's this bit where it ends up with with um the rocks on the ground with Vin Diesel standing over him and then when they were shooting it there were The Rock was like no no no he's I'm going to be sitting up in this at least I will at least sitting up he's knocked me out but not out cold I'm not lying on the ground in front diesel I will sit on the ground oh God hold on I've only seen a couple of these aren't they on the same side not at first I think the The Rock was a villain originally well Jason ston was a villain definitely Jason ston is a villain is I can't even I can't even

speak is a villain um get [ __ ] remixed um in the ones I've seen he is the villain so I guess more Jam one yes directed yes seven honestly this yeah this thing this franchise was going for like a decade and it took James Juan to make me watch it yeah Daddy's got to go to work that's my favorite yeah the rock flexes and his cast explodes off his yeah yeah he's [ __ ] in plaster yeah so good so yeah I wonder if testosterone Fest look I mean I'm not going to say we don't enjoy these movies Matt have you seen this one yet Hobs and no no I'm interested although the I don't know I I'm not going to go to the movies and watch it I'll watch it later would you even go to the movies if it was on say at the Alamo Draft

House perhaps but what I I'd have to dress as Jason ston wouldn't I isn't that the rule that the draft has these days yeah man shave your head wear black but I just want to quickly before we leave great science fiction TV shows we've been watching I've started the Twilight Zone the new Zone the Jordan Peele Zone yeah yeah and it is very satisfying I'm really enjoying it um some of the episodes are better than others some are more conceptual than others um well that's sort of following on with the trend of the original that way yeah that's right we have to make it hit and miss so that people get nostalgic about it no I wouldn't say it's hit and miss but I I just say that the tone changes quite

drastically between them um and some have a a political message coming through which is the same as the original series you had rodling putting his opinions through um the second episode which is actually not a remake but a a nod to the old nightmare at 30,000 ft right oh yeah um stars Matt Dan Carlin from Hardcore History huh as you kidding as a podcast host and I was listening to it and I was like I was like it's Dan Carlin and she was like okay who the [ __ ] is Dan Carl and I'm like Googling like crazy he's

[ __ ] Dan car well he's not in it like he doesn't show up oh it's just his voice yes they part of the story is they listen to a podcast it's a fake podcast made for the show but they got Dan Carin to do it well now I got to watch it cuz I [ __ ] loved it well you have to you have to and it's a great episode and listen any way oh check it out yeah yeah yeah and go back do yourself a favor he only has a couple of back uh episodes available for free but it's very reasonably priced if you want to buy the entire back catalog or you can just buy groups of things like if you just like World War I you can just buy those if you just like but [ __ ] man this guy makes history just so compelling and he like does so much research spends so

the Almo Draft House uh this week uh they I guess this start I think this started with the Wonder Woman screens which we talked about where when um Wonder Woman came out the Alo Draft House said they were going to be doing uh female only screenings and people got upset about it because people are weird like gives a [ __ ] um yeah but people got upset about it and somebody tweeted or or posted on their Facebook page and said oh will there be male only screenings of Thor Ragnarok or special screenings for it where there's only people who identify as clowns and they said yes there will be yeah we're going to steal that clown idea so they did clown only screenings of it chapter

one and they will be doing the same again for it chapter 2 coming up so if you're in the area uh and I highly you like dressing like a clown highly recommend seeing movies at the ELO Draft House here's the thing do you have to be a clown or can you just turn up dressed as a clown I believe you can just turn up dressed as a clown cuz how would they know cuz remember when there the Wonder Woman thing and there were guys like well I'm just going to turn up and everyone's like fine whatever [ __ ] with yeah just a [ __ ] Ru for everyone yeah yeah it's just yeah you fine Shel be a [ __ ] with who cares yeah you will be uncomfortable because you will know that you are the [ __ ] with exactly uh so yeah I think this is

fun also might make it uh even more disturbing I found it chapter one to be quite scary like in a good way I liked it I enjoyed it oh yeah yeah cuz you imagine seeing it Tred by clowns that's what yeah I'm thinking that I mean that I I probably anyway I've said it before and I'll say it again he's supposed to take on the form of whatever you're afraid of I'm going to go as a always anybody anything yeah I'm going to go as my father disappointed in [Laughter] me what does that costume look like terrify you know what it looks like you seen my dad that's what it looks like I know I was in a film that your dad

directed yes yep yep y mhm the less said about that [ __ ] Masterpiece the better it star famously St the guy who own who ran the sex shop on uh on [ __ ] what's he uh what's it I've been away too long Oxford Street in Sydney yeah not just the sex shop the gay fetish sex shop yeah that guy was literally the worst actor I've ever seen yeah that's right but he did let us film in his gay sex shop yeah which is why he's the film to be fair there was a lot of gay sex and gay sex undertones in that movie yeah uh we should put that online do you have it I think I probably got it somewhere okay in archive you

know what I actually don't know if I do let me have a look all right are we allowed to talk about it on this podcast I don't say why not we already have yeah very good now what's this about there being a fourth Matrix yeah yeah it's happening uh there apparently everyone keeps the articles are a little confusing because they keep talking to the you know the guy who directed uh the John Wick films and I think you mentioned you pointed out Dan I think last week that he was the stunt coordinator on The Matrix yeah that's right uh and so they keep asking him about it so I don't know if that means he's supposed to be directing this new Matrix film or if they're just like oh he worked him let's ask him yeah he's he's the person who worked on them but

also will answer our calls as famous people he keeps throwing out facts about this new Matrix movie uh so I guess that's that's the reason they're talking about it in the context of him but he said recently apparently he was misquoted as saying the Wiis were involved they're not but there is a fourth Matrix movie coming or being developed and it will either be a reboot or a sequel so we basically know nothing at this point yeah I've just gone down the list but a lot of this we can't talk about until the after party guys want to talk about Ninja Luke you're on mixer right or you on Twitch what's your what's your

pleasure I've done a little bit on Twitch and I've done a little bit on mixer I don't do enough to be considered to be on either of them officially you're not sponsored by either platform but ninja just made a ton of money [ __ ] I don't I don't understand right and I don't know if you can explain this to me or I don't know if anyone can explain this phenomenon to me I so ninja right is a he's a streamer he plays fortnite and as far as I can tell that's what he's most famous for doing he plays fortnite and he was one of the the biggest streamers on Twitch uh had he's got 23 [ __ ] million subscribers on YouTube I don't know what his numbers on Twitch were but they were very very high uh and then Microsoft drove a reversed a dump truck full of money up

to his house yep and said will you come and stream exclusively on mixer instead and he said sure because really who gives a [ __ ] uh and so now he's on mixer and his numbers on mixer have been just as good so now this article is basically saying how it's not twitch it's it's ninja that's the draw sort of thing the cult of personality yes and I mean that's all that's great for Ninja I guess but the thing I I was in I read the article and I was like oh what does this guy do that that's so uh compelling and I watched a few of his videos and I [ __ ] have no idea it's just a guy playing fortnite yeah he just plays the game and I'll be honest like I was expecting one Charming [ __ ] and this just a [ __ ] dude some of the some of the you know the like his announcement

video that where he said he was leaving was pretty funny like it was it was good production quality was good but it wasn't like it didn't blow my mind I don't I don't I don't understand why this guy is so popular like not not that I care we just do don't understand this like it's just yeah I just don't understand at all it's not for us yes because I always thought right I'm not interesting enough to stream video games because I wouldn't watch me play video games I wouldn't watch this guy play video games he's making millions of dollars doing it mhm yep that's true so I feel like maybe I should have had more confidence back in the day yeah you probably could have mind you back in the day we didn't have anyone any watching us so yeah and we

would have said something offensive there's that too is fortnite that's what I want to know fortnite originally started off as like this game where you would sort of sort of have to go out and collect materials uh during the day and then at night you'd have to build up your fault when zombies would come and attack you that was the original premise of the game really described Minecraft fine yes um the only people that I know who play this are my friend's two kids and they play it to learn dance moves yeah so what happened was uh pubg was very very popular at the time and then the people who make fortnite went we've got this game that we don't think going to quite do well in this

format but if we turn it into a battle royale and make it a bit fun like this and then they release it as a free game and turn it into a battle royale and we have fortnite okay so it's the Quake three Arena of its day it's sort of part of the reason why it does so well is it was free right yeah so I I tried to play it a couple times and I I just don't get it uh so I honestly don't understand these Battle Royale games at all because guys I'm I'm looking at pictures of it here right and there's like a gnarly looking shredded Darth Vader dude okay fine then there's a fish right y then there's an anthropomorphic banana like what is this the [ __ ] is this so you you you get your character

and then you get correct me if I'm wrong on anything luk or listeners podcast.com this is you it's like a imagine an island there are probably maps that aren't Islands but for the purpose of this right it's an island and then you get dropped on it by you know parachute and then by you get dropped off by a bus you jump out of the bus all right uh and then it's a battle royale and then you can collect resources and build uh as you're attempting to kill everybody else uh guys even even with your indepth analysis I just don't it's free uh so you could try it on the Xbox if you want [Music] to yeah I'm not I feel like an old man CU I just don't get it yeah remember

when like we were the video game generation yeah and then my parents were like I don't get it we are actually older than the average video gamer now I know [ __ ] up yeah hey speaking of video games I've been to give you guys a really indepth review of my experience of the sinking City please please oh yes I want to know if I should get this game you guys ready you guys ready for the yes it's not very good oh damn it all right yeah I had a feeling guys it says it's open world what that means is that the map is really big you can't talk to any of the NPCs you can't go into any of the buildings except for the ones you meant to go into it's just it's awful and it's boring

right damn it if you want a good lovecraftian game Call of cthulu is also not a good game but it's way more fun than this it is way more fun the like as in the the old old col well that one too right the one on the Xbox yeah yeah the one on the Xbox the original Xbox no no no there there's an Xbox One as from [ __ ] me and I'm not talking about Shadow of the the old dos game but that's also better than this that yeah that's a great game yeah I forgot somehow I forgot that this col cthulu game exists look it's not a very good game Matt but uh it's better than the sinking City so yeah Kulu dark corners of the earth is the one I'm think I was thinking of it came out in 2005 for the

original oh yeah that wasn't great either no but this is also not great so the yeah the Legacy continues yeah yeah that's right I just don't think they can yeah I think they struggle to make a good good game like this you should play uh Amnesia you know what it's funny that you say that Matt because after getting bored of this I went back to steam and I had already owned both Amnesia and Amnesia Machine For Pigs and I red them so that I could play them again yeah Amnesia was good actually the were parts of that that I genuinely gave me the creeps and had look over my shoulder so yeah well the Xbox One Call of cthulu is similar but it's not actually creepy

because it's not actually very good but but a milon times better than the sinking City I've still been playing uh Watch Dogs 2 which again this I'm playing two games right both Ubisoft games and they both were just kind of like on a whim I was like I wonder if I'll like that and I [ __ ] really really love both of them it's Watch Dogs cuz I saw you playing Far Cry Far Cry 5 yeah it's [ __ ] great man really yeah it's really good I'm [ __ ] I've got I got addicted within minutes I was addicted to it okay wow I I the I I bought it excl exclusively to play Far Cry New Dawn to try that out because because okay so the soundtrack for Far Cry New Dawn is by Tyler Bates

who is uh he does all the music for Marilyn Manson these days he did the score for John Wick and gu of the Galaxy and stuff like that I really like him as a composer and then on uh Spotify it was like oh hey you probably like this game soundtrack he did and I do like it so I was like I want to see the game that this music is in so I bought I I went to check out Far Cry New Dawn and then there was I got it cheap for some reason it was on sale with Far Cry 5 and then I learned that Far Cry 5 is kind of like the it's set in Montana and New Dawn is like a sequel to it in the far future set in the same map and I was like oh that's interesting maybe I'll just check out Far Cry 5 first uh because that'll be fun and then I can I'll just check it out a little bit and then I'll jump into

New Dawn later but then I got [ __ ] addicted to five really and I haven't even played New Dawn yet you know it's funny I I've played a couple of far cries but I've only played the spin-offs I've only played red dragon and Primal and I loved both of them so I recommend finishing five before you play New Dawn yeah I know I intend to now five is so the the premise is there's an area of Montana that has been taken over Slowly by this religious cult yes and they uh the the the leader I forget the the name of the leader uh because I've been chasing his brother John but um he uh he takes he slow they slowly take over this area and then they kind of initiate this plan to to to I

guess take over the world you you you come in you're a FBI agent I think uh or no you're a US Marshal to arrest him and uh and then things go wrong and then his followers basically just take over the whole region and then it's like it's Far Cry so you're just going rogue [ __ ] Rambo style taking out all these cult cultists religious Fanatics in Montana and and it is an open world South yes this one is open world you can Mont West yeah they these guys look like Hicks so I just assumed yeah but yeah you can go anywhere you want do you don't have to even follow like take out one person before you move on to next you can go and take out whoever you want first and [ __ ] do whatever you want could I play this game without having played the first four Far

Cry it's got nothing to do with them all the far cries are just their own all I think from three onwards are their own game in their own right they don't sort of follow on okay because I uh really need a new game because sinking City I I thought was going to take me till the end of the year and uh I've given up no honestly it it's really good I think you should check it out if you can get a good price on it like I did like I got both of them for like 20 bucks or something I'm not sure oh wow yeah they were just they were on sale for some reason that's a crazy price yeah that's why I was just going to get New Dawn and then I was like might as well just buy this pack yeah but uh yeah sucked me in and

off I like it when and that's what you want from a game yeah hopefully eventually I'll get to the new dawn because now I'm interested I want to play through five to so that I understand the story just to see how it CU I'm assuming I'm hoping that it at least comes up in New Dawn yeah that's why I yeah you should finish five before you move on okay good that's what I was hoping y I'm looking at 70 bucks does that sound if that was for both of them for both of them yes if that was for one no oh the bundle here is $116.90 wow wait for a sale yeah wait for a sale okay I mean they are it is good though oh it's worth it but whether or not you'd actually play it yeah H okay

do they have I don't know if they have demos of it because you haven't have you played a Far Cry game before I've I've just play Primal Primal and blood dragon and blood dragon yeah well okay so you know you kind of know what you're in for I'd say Primal I didn't play Primal but I know cuz blood dragon I feel like Primal really Primal is a good game blood dragon is [ __ ] awesome yeah but it's not really indicative of Far Cry the main thing although well I think I think primal's probably the same in that it's set like 10,000 BC yeah yeah I've just noticed now I'm on the Microsoft site right now just seeing what I could get for yeah but that I've just realized there's a there's an add-on for Far Cry Primal where you play as the

mammoth that's [ __ ] awesome I'll consider it I I liked uh yeah five there all these Doomsday Preppers in the area which uh is great and you can find all their stashes and stuff like that just I don't know the game really got me like the premise of it more than I was expecting like all of the the you know you'll talk to uh people wandering around rescue them from the from the the bad guys and then they'll say oh yeah Bob was hoing a bunch of stuff cuz he he always thought the end of the world was coming and then on your map you'll get a little thing that's like pre stash and then you got to go find all these Doomsday Preppers [ __ ] gear that they've hidden and stuff it's good usually there's a like a puzzle

associated with it yeah they never make it too easy to get it no we got any uh we don't really have any Star Wars news this week uh I mean we could just not have Star Wars news and give Craig a week off or I think so or or we could talk about we could just make up some Star Wars news well I mean I had a Star Wars experience this week uh when Mark HL posted on Twitter as we all know Mark Hill is the one and only person I follow on Twitter um posted a screen test that he did for the original Star Wars with Harrison Ford now it doesn't say it here but I have a feeling that this would have been before Harrison was cast when harison brought on to read against the actors cuz he was friends with George

Lucas yeah he he was there building the set he no he was putting doors on the office from what I from what I read in the or heard in the audio book that I've been listening to this week apparently he uh cuz he actually was a carpenter and then he he was on um he did American Graffiti and then a very small role in American Graffiti right and so but then they needed some [ __ ] new doors put on the the Lucas film officers and they're like oh let's get Harrison in he installing some [ __ ] do and then they're like hey do you want to uh do you want to help us out and read for read this character and then and it wasn't reading for the part it was just so he Mark had something to read because apparently George Lucas was very adamant that no

nobody that I've worked with before no like will be in this like this is going to be new people so wasn't he wrong the [ __ ] magic of Hollywood isn't it you can you can be in a George Lucas movie and then the next time you're building his [ __ ] office door it worked out well for him in this one instance but still but uh I I think everyone should watch this it's Charming little uh little scene you can tell how different that you know this is obviously early dialogue as well yeah did you know uh as well Carri Carrie Fisher carry Fisher was the only actress who could act actually say the dialogue because it was so tongue twisty and bizarre that and she had just taken elocution lessons right and that's why she has like a funny kind of British

accent a little bit at times in in a new hope that she loses in Parts because she was just trying to sound proper well she was just trying to read the [ __ ] words that George Lucas had put down and and like apparently no one else could read it because they would they're like what the [ __ ] how do you how do you say this sentence out loud yeah but uh yeah yeah I love this uh I love the quote that Mark has put on this little clip my screen test for Star Wars with Harrison on the first day I ever met him neither one of us had read the script and only we only got this first scene I asked George what kind of movie it was and he said let's just do it and we'll talk about it later we never did talk about it we just did it I also learned from the book this

week that uh we I mean we we know this that George always changed stuff right and do you know listening to this this is that how Star Wars conquered the universe book I think I've said before that I sort of feel sorry for George Lucas cuz Star Wars was never really what he wanted anyway even though it was so successful and yeah it's true yeah it's an interesting he was [ __ ] miserable and depressed the whole time he compromised the whole time and the film that that got made was not the film that he wanted to make and as it was in theaters he was literally working like 18 hours a day changing it and and he there's a he called Mark Hill and was

like um oh you're famous yet cuz like the movie had gone [ __ ] insane everyone was going crazy over it he's like do you want to come in and re-record some lines my C was like no like just constantly changing it and changing it like and then you know they put a new chapter four on CU he wanted to do chapter 4 well they had discussed it the whole time but then they eventually fox or whoever said to him can you imagine going in to see a film and you think it's a new film and then it comes up it says episode 4 like that's going to be so confusing and at the time I was like well I was like oh yeah but you know it wasn't confusing but back then it would have been confusing it was confusing to me as a child I did wonder what that was

I asked for a very long time I asked my parents I want to see the first St yeah and it turns out you didn't no well they had to talk him out of it cuz he was like but this is part of where his big push came for digital as well so he could like continue making changes to a mov to just before it was released didn't have to worry about it being printed to film well that's he was never never I don't feel sorry for the billionaire no it's not no but I know what you're saying like he's fine but that would be I don't know I can can see why he's so cynical because yeah but then he got to do exactly what he wanted with the first three yeah that's true and that worked out pretty well for him no but I guess you're right I mean we we

always we kind of give him a bit of [ __ ] for going back and changing things but you're quite right I mean maybe this the changes came straight away and this was just always somebody who was never happy with the film cuz he always said he hated the like one of the things that everyone loved the can Cantina scene he hated yeah re at least once yeah cuz it didn't live up to what he actually envisioned yeah well his idea apparently at the time was that he would make this film and then he would uh other people would make more Star Wars films and then hopefully other people would make copies of Star Wars and then he could just sit back and [ __ ]

watch all the movies at that from then on like people would make the movies that he wanted to see after that that is not what happened no so yes I don't feel sorry for him for being a a multi [ __ ] billionaire but I do feel like I don't know that's just a bit sad really like yeah he got famous but he never I don't know it's not it wasn't his vision as such it was this compromised thing that people fell in love with and he he went to the [ __ ] Hawaii didn't want to know about it you know when it came out that's right and that's why we got the holiday special yes yeah he doesn't think about us at all oh I think sometimes he might think about you he probably think about me and

Matt yeah he thinks back oh I remember that that that young man I met on the set of Revenge of the Seth wonder what he's up to now oh yeah wonder if he andal ever got married yeah sexually harassing one of the one of the Stars what if Nelly Portman ever thinks about you yeah while she's while she's in bed with her husband yeah she's like she's like you know obviously I'm a beautiful woman and very successful I get asked out by a lot of men but only one of them really creeped me out yeah she's like honey honey do you think you could grow a beard oh you didn't have a beard then did you I didn't have a beard back then he's like honey could you put on a hat and like dangle stuff off it and she's like do you mind if I call
