welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy so my holiday has officially ended and I am now back to no drinking oh okay holiday really is over so you I mean I know what while you were overseas you were allowing yourself a few did you just continue that when you got back well I got picked up some Judy free gin on the way back the holiday is not officially over until you've polished off all your dutyfree alcohol and I no no I was still had time off from work so I went I'm on holidays still so I drank

one bottle of gin okay today over how long well this is where I think you might be proud of me that brother of Jin was over a week okay yep for you I think that is a long time to leave a bottle of gin I mean I've got a bottle of gin I've had in the closet for quite a while now Matt Matt this is not about you this is not about you buddy if I buy alcohol to drink it not to display I do open either yeah so but the really still I still have three bottles sitting there well you're still on holidays then well I'm not still on holidays though so noway have to sit there until I have time off again ah well you're living like I like that

attitude yeah I don't you'll be fine but I have to do it you'll be fine you got video games play them cuz i' I've got a really nice bottle of multiple nasm gin I need to try oh yeah sorry does uh does um tea public do gin now does it we've we got a bottle of uh uh what's that whiskey that Jenna got there was one that uh there was a batch of that was supposed to be notified about at some point I wonder what happened with that huh going to have our name on it oh oh okay to chase that up I when we when I was in Edinburgh I went to Ed Jin and I distilled my own flavor of Jin and I called it multiple nasm [Music] soor yeah his own um it was uh Lime Leaf

oh a little bit of sage okay I mean I can't really imagine what Sage tastes like I know I've had it but imagine I can imagine them presenting Luke with these kind of elements and Luke going oh The Lime Leaf Sage yeah I'm assum and then here's what was on the table I I put in was Black Mountain pepper okay I think that was the third one that's a very luk Alison ingredient mhm and so yeah and that's what I have and I've tried a little bit of it when I'm there but now I've just got an unopened bottle sitting there how was it pepper oh I really enjoyed it okay the one I the little bit I tried sure and the thing is like if you live over in England or Europe you can actually just

contact them and they'll send you another bottle like you pay for it and I'll make it for you again and send it to you but they don't ship to Australia but Luke I'll just point out [ __ ] England's got about two weeks of still being Europe so you know yeah thanks for that England passport I guess well done yeah useless I'm kidding of course I do still like England so I I'll continue to go there I just I like England I'll go back I think you can go to England very easily Matt yeah other plac you might not be able to go that's what I'm saying and and also it's ridiculous that I'm getting annoyed H I can't just go and live in Germany if I want to like as if I was going to do that it just annoys me that I now look I I wanted to bring

something up and and if I could get serious just for a sec we make a lot of jokes on this podcast about Matt's family being Nazis but jokes question marks in quotes but Matt you you sent me a picture of a uh yeah of a you know her ham right who had uh defied the Nazis and was killed for refusing to uh to join the Nazi Reich and um so I think yeah I don't think I can make jokes anymore he was he was arrested and questioned in relation to the attempted assassination of Hitler if you recall and then died in Gusto custody so whilst trying to fall down his to to [ __ ] stab Hitler yeah kind almost literally

the opposite of a Nazi I guess in that yeah yep okay so all right I'll let that joke die then it was a good joke while it lasted but uh I've certainly been put in my place and um what's his name Edward uh yes Edward let that joke die as Edward ham died Ino custody after being thrown out you're our geek of the week [Music] we I'll allow it thank you suicide missions don't count as suicides no I'm not sure he was even involved he just knew the guy so and was known as a and didn't and didn't tell anyone try and stop it right they were just like you know anything about this

do we've got one more game we need to win and then we'll be in the Grand Final wow this is we're talking about the rugby league for people League aren't in Australia or in Australia and still don't care the National Rugby League of Australia because the the Rugby League World Cup also started this week so don't think we're talking about that we're not right well that's that's the Rugby Union World Cup no the Rugby League World Cup is also Oh no you're quite right you're quite right okay about the the sport of the working Club class in in Australia mhm yes NRL so I'm trying to decide if I go to the game or not I don't think I should cuz it's actually been in CA cuz they're playing camra oh wait why don't you oh because you know sister and her husband

are coming down for the weekend and I think it might be a little rude for me to go guys I'm just going to leave dinner a little bit early and duck out that to the football for a couple hours hang Hannah s's husband is not a football fan oh he is okay then I'm pretty sure he's not going to judge you but they've organized dinner and stuff okay okay plus I mean you can't watch a football game sober can you no no well I I have to now well that's what I mean so it's either that or you don't go you don't have to watch the football Luke I love watching the football that's all right it was just a dud joke never mind I knew there was a joke in there somewhere but I I missed it sorry sorry mat I'm getting I'm just getting word from the floor and yes I can confirm

that joke did die yes yeah of shock yeah um Can can I segue into uh something in the spreadsheet um that I that I really want to talk about somebody's deleted the article so I'll just have to go off memory here um but uh Tom dong speaking of things that are a joke um we've discussed on this podcast many times before that Tom dong former frontman or co- frontman at least of blink 1882 left the music industry behind to start up a business called the to the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences and uh which is a uh so odd businesses just rolls off the tongue um where he has recruited some scientists

and ex-military people to educate the world on what is really happening with UFOs um now 2 years ago they put up on their website three videos that they claimed were leaked from the American Military um videos of Naval Pilots encountering a UFO and freaking out and you know because he's you know existing On The Fringe no one really paid it too much attention until this week when the Navy came out and went yeah it's real all right and Tom Delong should not be posting that [ __ ] online so where where did the Navy confirm that cuz I've I I did hear about this do you know I heard about this cuz [ __ ] Dan Acro was on um Joe Rogan and

he is he's [ __ ] all in on that [ __ ] sure to a silly degree and of course Joe Rogan does not tolerate fools no but but sometimes he does and I yeah maybe maybe he doesn't tolerate Dan Arro I can tell you that I've never heard him be so [ __ ] aggressively Tom long either that's I've never I've never heard him be as like aggressively like confrontational about Dan is a bit of a Maniac well that's he just believes everything from the from the sound of it and then Joe's like I don't know that might be true and Dan going like Jesus jeez crystal skulls oh no true Everything sasquat She Believes In Bigfoot anyway of course hey I believe

Bigfoot so the UFOs are real well well no the videos are real yes yeah yeah and and UFO just means they don't know what it is and in fact they don't call it a UFO and if if somebody hadn't deleted the article out of the spreadsheet i' be able to refer to this rather quickly someone who didn't want to talk about it or don't look at me holy [ __ ] guys the government deleted this I found this article I mean if this helps it's an article let's see Vanity Fair what yeah sure this is the same article I mean that's fine um very good sign up to something shut up um they call them

uaps yes unidentified aerial phenomen AES an explained aerial phenomena oh sorry unexplained explained so until somebody explains it to you and then you cannot so it's still a UFO cuz a UFO yes they can't identified flying objects so but people when they think of UFO they don't they think of alien spaceship now whereas that's not what it even means that's probably why they that's probably they don't call them that because it's got ACH of bagage yeah yeah but here's the thing right if you're the US Navy and I don't want to tell you how to do your job right mhm this came out two years ago two [ __ ] years Tom delong's had this up on his website and no one's believed it for a second don't encourage him by coming out now and saying yeah

you know what it is real it is real yeah like yeah like if you just continue saying nothing and yeah You' they've made it news Again by discussing it no and then also going they weren't cleared to be released either no well in fact they were they were Declassified but they weren't cleared for for public release so apparently what happened was that one of the ex-military guys that works for to the Stars Academy of Arts and scien is it an academy can you learn there I don't know or is that just a funny name okay um apparently he just uh he just contacted the department and said uh can I get those Declassified uh videos and they were like and they were sure yeah they de classifi email them to you now here you go like there was no nefarious means for getting them yeah

right so UF this is also be weird also happening around the same time of the area 51 who well I mean there's some Area 51 news this week too isn't it yeah that's a good point I mean that is odd but you think that the Navy needs some uh publicity people know about the Navy right I've I've heard of it I think my dad did something with it for a while I know that people think I've been in it because I have a [ __ ] tattoo of an anchor on my arm I like I've not been in the ne I just like popy the Sailor Man we've talked about this already there was a occupy Area 51 mhm was a thing sorry Matt storm Area 51 storm Area 51 storm it wasn't occupy can't kill all of us their

tagline so how many people were killed okay well let's let's back up for a second here how many people signed up to stor Area 51 do you remember was a couple of million people you know how many people turned up 100 more than that 2,000 but that's still like 1% right I don't know how maths work that's still a lot I mean this article says a handful I I can't fit 2,000 people in my hand well not well I mean man you guys watch Silicon Valley no the last episode of the first series where he's like I could Jer off everyone in this room and I can prove it yep so good so good um they turned up but they

didn't storm Area 51 they basically they just had a bit of a party yeah they had a massive party which guys I got to say we [ __ ] missed out this is the kind of party I mean we have been Matt you and I to Rachel Nevada right we have been to the little alien and had the worst Pine on the face of this planet yeah any Planet yeah I mean but what we didn't do is turn up with 2,000 other [ __ ] alien Fanatics most of them in costume drunk and just having a good time out in the desert so there were no major incidents that's no I'm just so happy that people didn't actually try to storm the place cuz a driver hit a cow I think we can uh I think we can now admit that no one was

ever ever going to storm the place of course I don't know there are some stupid people out there and I think if there hadn't been say 10,000 people shown up I think it might have been a different article you read you they would been like you know what we came here to just part the desert but there are enough of us that they they literally can't kill all of us but there's there's nothing in there no there's no there's no aliens in there guys not only that americ [ __ ] Air Force has never confirmed there's even a [ __ ] Air Base there but there is we know know there an AE there's a long Runway there's photos of it yeah that's where they tested the stealth uh bomber and that's what everyone the stealth bomber is what

people thought was a UFO like [ __ ] simple as that mhm that's why everyone thinks there's aliens in Area 51 cuz there was a weird thing flying around it was the stealth bom we know this y so I don't know I don't know Matt I've uh yeah fair enough in the early days of the internet I I saw something uh that was labeled alien autopsy right don't don't pretend don't pretend you didn't watch that too okay and a little blur underneath the thing that I spent three days downloading said that it was recovered from Area 51 so you know I wonder if we can get uh Dan akroy on this show to talk about God UFO I happily let Dan rant on this show about whatever he wants he will he will want

to talk about his Crystal Skull Vodka fine yeah you brought some of that vodka hav you yeah okay well it sounds like this is a perfect match what else has he got for sale I'll buy something I've got some in the cupboard right now along with that j i I love I love that he was like 100% behind that um 2016 Ghostbusters remake and then as soon as as soon as the world turned on it and said actually we've seen it and it's not very good he was like yeah I told that guy not to make a [ __ ] movie and he did anyway and now he's not welcome on the Sony lot look speaking of Dan Acro uh I rewatched a movie uh recently because Jenna and I had a

conversation while we were uh overseas about which is the best Indiana Jones film and if you're wondering why those two things go together I don't wonder why I I could tell you right now why yeah I didn't realize this but Dan arroy appears in Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom he certainly does he does he does in the very very first act but aren't you wood Willie Scott the famous yeah he's in there I'm Weber is his name and you know that Steven Spielberg appears in one scene in The Blues Brothers I did not know that there you go is his name r Weber as well you know what that I don't know but that would be great so they're just they're buddies then I guess so yeah I guess so well they both [ __ ] love aliens don't they I don't know why I said aliens so

strangely um please don't remix me I have very fun memories of the Temple of Doom cuz it's the first one I saw but I haven't watched it in a very long time clearly until it's been over a decade since I've seen them because I I'm sure I've seen Raiders and Last Crusade more recently definitely but for some reason just not Temple of Doom and so we're were having a conversation about which one's the best and I said I can't really pick one um because I remember Temple of Doom being very good and then she was like is it and I was like okay so I rewatched it mhm and [ __ ] hell no it's not is it it's a bit of a mess it's a bit of a mess isn't it [ __ ] me the first 20 minutes of it mhm a bit [ __ ] mhm yeah yeah yeah so yeah that's definitely third on my

ranking of the movies there's there's whole characters in it that are a bit [ __ ] lead characters she's awful she's [ __ ] terrible yeah she's so awful but not only that okay so there's the the start of the film I'm sure everybody's probably seen it but you know he's in Shanghai right and he's got the the little he's at the obiwan yeah with the remains of uh n some some narachi yeah the the an emperor Chinese emperor yeah uh and then you know there's a bit of stuff goes on he gets poisoned right and then there's an antidote to the poison and Willie the girl grabs it puts it in her dress right that's the only reason he takes her with him out the window right they leap out the window and then conveniently Landing Short Round car there's a lot of this stuff reminds me

of Crystal Skull to be honest now she's in the car now she's in the she's in the car yeah she's driving driving along with Short Round no not only that right so they get to the airport right there's a big car chase not big car chase there's a car chase through Shanghai they get to the airport right Dan they run over a rickshaw driver that's right murder a RW driver yeah they get there right Dan akroy says hi I've spoken to your assistant and I've secured three spots on a plane what [ __ ] assistant and Y three y three yeah he was he planning on kidnapping Willie hang on back this up I'll tell you who his assistant was his assistant was the guy dressed up like a waiter G on L J yeah who died oh yes so that would have been three not before

making a booking ah all right all right you you [ __ ] got me there and then he didn't know who the third booking was so he said Heavens aren't you Willie Scott yeah all right fair enough mhm mhm a perfect CU that explains the other bit that I was going to say so they managed to set that up in the time that they were having the C Chase but then not only that La double cross them cuz it's his plane so I was trying to figure out how the [ __ ] did they organize the plane on the way from the the club but also La double cross them in that time while he was chasing them but now you've explained he called ahead mobile phones really could have fixed a lot of their problems couldn't they when I was a you

explained it now you've explained it now that makes sense sorry I didn't mean to sales no that's good because now I like the movie again look so that was the second movie wasn't it but it was a prequel yes correct yeah yeah it was set in 1936 and the second one was said in 1940 I believe yeah um I have some problems with the Temple of Doom I think it's tonally inconsistent I mean you've got absolutely the plot is about [ __ ] [ __ ] death cult that killed all the children or kidnapped all the children in a village but then you've got [ __ ] Short Round And Willie Scott making w cracks every other scene like as a kid I clearly did not pick up on this because I I like watching it now that there's a bit where he goes down to

get the stones the the shra stones yeah and he grabs them turns around to leave here's a kid scream right down the hallway looks up at and I my kid brain did not process this right but there are flade children up on the [ __ ] wall I don't remember skins of children looking I do not remember that oh my God which is why he decides not to just leave with the stone yeah he looks up and he goes I got to do something but like as a kid I was just like no no no Matt I put it to you that when you were a kid you saw this on VHS in for free pan and scan and those were probably not in the frame yeah could be yeah yeah but [ __ ] fck W that's it's disturbing movie it's a very disturbing movie they feed him the blood of the khar from a [ __ ] severed head yep yep also as a kid I didn't

didn't I just I guess I didn't process that as a kid he [ __ ] punches Short Round in the face that's right he beats a child because Short Round comes up to him and says Indie it's me you know we're we're old friends and he punches that little boy in the [ __ ] face yeah yeah back cuz that's how Indiana Jones [ __ ] hits stupid yeah so they so they escaped the plane in a inflatable raft which is [ __ ] stupid as a kid I thought that was cool I'm sure yeah yeah and then the raft goes off a cliff which was very Kingdom of the Crystal Skull I got to say like it goes off a waterfall and they're like and I was like oh God and then lands and they're floating down the river and then Willie says where are we

and Indie sees a brown person and goes India India yeah yeah I would have loved it if that brown person had been like uh excuse me we're in Sri Lanka right now [ __ ] you you're still in China mate yeah you're side of China I just my this is my River that's very true I'd never thought of that before I'll I'll say this though I'm just putting this out there the best cinematography in all three films are in Temple of Doom just absolute stunning cinematography best special effects matap paintings um the thuggy Temple all of that stuff is is amazing the action scenes are Second To None like if you thought the action in Raiders was I mean Raiders is a perfect film and it's my favorite film

of all time but the action in um Temple of Doom like elevates but I will say when I mine cart Chase is phenomenal it's [ __ ] fantastic and then the bridge sequence like it's so good it's so good yeah I think you need to allow yourself to like this movie no no I do I do I just just the beginning of it not as good as you remember the start of it the start of it I was like oh no oh no and then it was all right after that once they get into the the thuggy Temple it's all right yeah look looking back I actually think that the Last Crusade which I always thought growing up was my favorite because it was the funniest it's probably the weakest for me just because it's a soft reot it's a soft reboot of Raiders of the Lost Arc it's

structurally identical no no it's excellent don't get me wrong it's it's it's only the the third worst out of you know three of the greatest films ever made sure but uh and then that other one honestly I don't even I I just it doesn't even come to mind when I think about Indiana it honestly doesn't and let's just see what happens with the next one oh God speaking of sequels or remakes or whatever these [ __ ] are um [ __ ] Sony pictures or whoever the [ __ ] owns the rights to The Princess Bride have announced they're going to do a reboot that's it's crazy talk you cannot do that well you know who thinks it's crazy Carrie Elis who put on Twitter this week a beautiful sentiment if you've seen the film you'll know the

reference he said there is a shortage of perfect films in this world it would be a Pity to waste this one don't don't there are there are some movies that that should never be rebooted or something like that that is one of them yeah it's been a 100 years since Citizen Kane and no one's had the bollocks to try to do better than that just make new movies oh it's too big a risk [ __ ] well there there's I know a movie I'd love to see a remake of and that would be the last star knew you going to say that and I'm fully on board no I I wouldn't mind seeing that as fresh take we should remake that or at least explorers remember that movie which I always thought as a kid was like the slightly less good last star

fighter is it's a good River there some [ __ ] you you it in fact for all I know it was the entire cast of St by me and I just don't remember I might be wrong but I believe uh not Seth Green the other Seth Seth mcfallen no the other one Seth Meyers other one Seth Rogan Seth Rogan I believe he's actually trying to is tried for while to get a um a remake going to be it's going to be a stoner comedy it's going to be a stoner [ __ ] video he just wants it to get remade he doesn't want to be in it but I think that the guy who owns the rights is not know happening slack which we should Danny McBride did the new Halloween and that [ __ ] blows my mind so maybe

maybe Seth Rogan should have a go no it's so true Danny McBride [ __ ] wrote the Halloween reboot unbelievable to me but yeah well I mean he was in a he's in Alien yeah I know no he was all right in Alien cing the I mean he wasn't the worst thing about the film certainly not certainly not you know what's funny though you know how when when when that food came out we we criticized a lot of it there's a lot to criticize but one of the things we criticized was the fact that everyone on the [ __ ] ship was a married couple right sure but I was reading something yeah I was reading something from SpaceX recently where they were actually saying that when they finally do send people like to colonize Mars they will basically only employ couples because babies need to be born

on Mars but they weren't colonizing a planet they were they're space truckers yeah but but just you long haul tricks you're better off to be instead of have like everyone's single and and it'll just be a party the whole time party no one's doing work that person will sleep with that person that person get jealous imagine you were on a [ __ ] long haul Intergalactic [ __ ] trip and somebody's like oh why' you sign up for this I [ __ ] didn't mate my parents signed on for this and I was just born halfway between yeah I what like do you yeah cuz they'd have once you sort of born and you're old enough to start doing things you'd have to start working do you get paid for that or is it just and who pays you spend it on all of these questions and more are

answered in the new film Ad Astra which I saw last night well if I haven't heard of this what is it you heard of this is the is this the one with what's the name in it no no what's at Astra Brad Pit I'm looking alone in space Oh okay is it good there's no easy way to answer that question man okay but if you if you if you'll permit me I will 50% of this is the greatest film I've ever seen and I can't recommend it to you both more especially you Matt you know you know your dream of just being shot out into into the void of space and just looking out into Oblivion as you wait for right y if someone made a movie of that

and they [ __ ] cast the guy from Fight Club then this is it right sure but unfortunately mean meatloaf um unfortunately at the same time they also put about half a dozen ridiculous unbelievable and just plain stupid plot points that really do just rip you out of this movie H so here's my advice decide right now that you don't care about logic Halles all right fine Ryan Johnson I will decide right now that you're not going to care that at one point a character uses a shield to Shield himself from a [ __ ] asteroid field while flying in the opposite direction

right to get back to his ship which is on the other side of that asteroid field right just decide right now that that is not going to bother you and then just watch the existential space film you've been waiting your whole life for all right add Astra I will yeah all right I might go check it out this week it's great but it's also dumb terrible [Laughter] yeah but is it is it like dumb in a fun way at least yes for sure but but you have to go the movie is not fun and I'm doing air quotes the rest of the movie is like [ __ ] great like yeah like a man alone in space like with his thoughts and with [ __ ] daddy issues and just Brad fit

sitting there it is it really is no the plot is literally it's it's the plot of Apocalypse Now transcribed into 2001 Space Odyssey universe that's what it is [ __ ] hell all right but with some really really dumb scenes these scenes sound like they hurt you did psychological damage but but only because I'm like what are you doing he this is perfect yeah why is this happening read the script one more time just cross things out with a red pen if they seem [ __ ] ridiculous well Matt you'd be able to go use your movie pass to go see it

wouldn't you oh yeah Matt you should see this with Movie Pass I'd love to guys except Movie Pass is died finally it did yeah also I canceled mine a while back because yeah I as we discussed I like to be able to choose the [ __ ] movie I'm going to see not have movie Fast decide for me so yep yes fair I do Rec when movie first came out you were supposed to just be able to see literally whatever movie you wanted yeah and it was amazing for maybe maybe even in 12 months maybe not that long it it was amazing some might even say so amazing it couldn't possibly make a profit for the people who well it wasn't my problem first I went saw a movie every day any movie every day amazing yeah but then people started to abuse it

didn't they it they started using it as it was intended to be used no but they did they did abuse it too Dan that's the problem like well that's what movie pass said was that people would show up and and use it to buy two tickets or whatever like that it's a [ __ ] the deal as it stood was amazing there's no need to cheat people like if this could have worked and you ruined it [ __ ] you cuz it would have been great but I actually I think you're right I don't think it could have worked anyway yeah but uh so we talked about the Saga a little bit they uh yeah ran out of money several times uh because basically the way it worked was I would pay $10 a month and then every time I went to go to the movies I would buy my ticket I would buy my ticket with my movie pass

card and then movie bu would just pay for it so uh yeah so no matter how much it actually cost literally your subscription went directly to movie pass and at no point did any money from you go to a cinema correct they would just constantly buy you tickets as many as you ask them to buy for you and around here a movie actually costs probably around 122 or $13 which is not too bad anyway but uh but but if I go every day that's quite a lot of money they've got to pay here's the thing so I think part of their problem was they didn't charge enough for it I think the problem was they don't understand it should have been like I think it should have been like a $20 a month even the ones that do charge more are having trouble because

the people using this go all the time because that's the [ __ ] point of it like in order for this to be like if I was only going once a month I probably wouldn't bother with it anyway cuz yeah all these subscription Services the way they work is they want you to buy it forget you've got it and just keep giving them money every month while not actually using it yeah well I mean that's what a gym does sure but like something like Netflix doesn't give a [ __ ] if you watch it or not like they don't they don't monitor eyeballs and that's why something like Netflix works is is that it doesn't rely on you constantly using it mhm yeah it's there whether you're watching like imagine Netflix worked that you paid your $10 a month subscription but then

Netflix had to license a show every time you wanted to watch something it's better for Netflix if you don't watch it because you're not using up their bandwidth so so sure yeah man as an a complete aside I started watching the spy on Netflix Sasha bar and Cohen and uh yeah it's pretty good I'm only two in really I do not like him as an actor Nei do I man I like honestly I couldn't give a sh I couldn't give a [ __ ] about Ali G but this this is a great show I can understand if you don't like his you know his his what you know whatever those whatever you call those there kind of reality comedy sort of things he did but he's not a bad actor like and to be able a to do those characters I think you

have to be sit there and and talk to somebody as [ __ ] Borat or Al and not just laugh I think it should be I'm not a fan I'm not a fan of that cringe humor m not in this case but but guys look well then I think you should watch the Spy you should both watch the Spy because it does star him he is very good and there's no cringe humor in fact there's no humor at all it's deadly [ __ ] serious yeah right okay well I'm very interested then yeah he was good in swey Todd as well yes he was good in swey Todd yeah that's for sure yeah he can act he's just doesn't do Straight stuff often speaking of not straight I rewatched an old movie this week go on the other

night the other night we put on Top Gun now how was that age I have I I watched Top Gun with everyone else back in the late 80s you know and I thought it was a great film with great music and all the biggest stars of the time and I've not seen it since then not once I watched it last night as a film it's absolutely fine Tony Scott is a great director cinematography is beautiful as it always is made me sad that he was no longer with us yeah but uh this is the gayest movie I've ever seen this movie is so gay to the point where it can't be an accident Tony Scott must have said to the actors before each take make this as gay as it can possibly be I

wonder if there was just a period where that was a thing like CU we talked about uh Rocky 3 right was it Rocky 3 that was like with was just like C weathers oh yeah where they're training together on the beach I don't give a [ __ ] but I was just like that was that what you were going for because [ __ ] hell he must have been going for gay yeah like okay yeah yeah all right I guess maybe was just the80s thing super gay it's so gay um just as a complete aside and speaking of ' 80s movies and in the last year or so we've had a lot of opportunity to speak about the police academy movies and I have no I have no idea why but I've I'm liking it that it keeps coming up right go so

[Music] Winslow Winslow yeah yeah and he's a bit [ __ ] I got to say I remember him being better at it than than he is I watched like clips and I'm like oh it's not that impressive is it no now that your average [ __ ] dude on the [ __ ] Corner can do a bit of beat boxing is not impressive also he seems to play absolutely no role in the films other than being able to do sound effects with just makes noises and he's Space Balls too yep and he just makes funny noises yeah he's the he's the radar operator he's a radar and he just but he makes the noises instead of the machine and it's like that's his whole yeah that's his

stick but like I said they're not they're not very good in my opinion no offense Mr Winslow at the time groundbreaking I'm sure yeah but at the time [ __ ] Bob Bobcat golf weight was like the [ __ ] [ __ ] about bhead gold TW I'm going to have a career last than the rest of my life he doesn't do that voice anymore he doesn't no that was a that was a gimmick really now he's all like ladies and gentlemen bobat goth good evening it's time for some laughs yeah he's a I think he still does stand up but he doesn't do that voice anymore fantastic yeah that's great all you need is two decades in between and [ __ ] becomes cool again right you know you know what I mean like because everyone in everyone in those Police Academy movies Steve

before um and uh just because we went to we went to Munich which sure uh is you know the birthplace of uh of the Nazis and so there was a lot of the history there is related to that and uhh and so when we got back we watched uh Band of Brothers because a Nazi Marathon oh my god well we no we saw the Matt I got you off the hook at the start of this episode and you're digging yourself right back into stereotype so we went to you know you know in in Band of Brothers in I think maybe the second last episode or whatever they encounter a concentration camp yeah [ __ ] yeah so that we went to it's actually one of the satellite camps from daa I believe and and we went to I'm pretty sure that one the one that that that they're talking about cuz they're on their way to yeah you to

the the eag and I think you might be yeah yeah and we also went to the Eagles Nest which is also in B brothers so that's why we did that uh and then just because of that Jenna mentioned Life is Beautiful which is an Italian film from 1998 that I had not seen uh sure so we watched it and uh and it's it's [ __ ] really good uh and interesting just because it's a comedy that's in a concentration camp basically but don't let that fool you you'll also bore your [ __ ] eyes out oh oh absolutely yeah yeah I mean not and how funny were those [ __ ] Nazis no no no no it's uh it's just really good very very very uh touching I'm glad you liked it for me it's the most effective movie about

concentration camps because it brings such humor to it and such Humanity to it that it just puts on a just a human not just a human face but a human heart onto something that is often just a statistic 6 million Jews de yes right and it's him he try telling his son that it's it's just a game and they they've got to keep getting points and stuff look have you seen this no a dude and his kid get sent to a concentration camp and he doesn't want his kid to know he's in one so he tells his kid he's basically at a [ __ ] theme park where he's like got tasks to do every day yeah get win

really oh my God kid is dumb no it's [ __ ] amazing no no seriously # dad goals you know and cuz because because there it's it's in Italy set in Italy and but the but the the Nazis don't speak Italian so he he offers he gets up at one point say who speaks German and so he gets up so the Nazis yelling out all the the camp rules and he's just saying oh you've got to get a th000 points and you get your tank yeah yeah and the kid's like wow and there was this shot in the trailer uh for that movie that I obviously every shot in the trailer is kind of out of context but it's it's him marching um at gunpoint and he's kind of doing a March and he's he's got this grin on his face and and in the trailer you just think like okay this is a this

is a silly little movie [ __ ] when that moment in the movie happens oh my [ __ ] God oh my God yeah I'm glad you enjoyed it Luke put it on your list of just movies Micky want to it's in Italian that's the only problem you have to read uh unless there might be a dubbed version but I wouldn't I wouldn't I I I tried to watch the dub I tried to watch dark dubbed oh yeah and I couldn't do it we did that only because we were eating dinner at the same time I've done the same thing I I started watching Dark dub just because I felt I was missing out on a lot of really beautiful cinematography oh yeah constantly just looking at the lower third of the screen um Luke it's actually not a big T there's a lot of physical comedy in this movie as well um

even just the start of a bit slat the opening of it is him and his friend in the car and the brakes fail and so they come flying into this Village and he's like he's like waving at him get out of the way get out of the way and they think he's doing this Hitler salute so they all start saluting him oh man I was like okay I think I'm going to enjoy enjoy this movie yeah yeah well he won the he won the Oscar for that he won the Oscar yeah I actually remember that from when I was a kid well I guess [ __ ] kangaroo hopped up onto the stage yeah it was a beautiful moment yeah honestly and Soph Ren was the one who presented him with the award yeah yeah great he's banned he's banned from live TV in Italy because

he's just a [ __ ] crazy like unpredictable prankster oh sure I can imagine yeah like he was just so unpredictable that they were they had to pull so many shows off the air that were being taped live because he just started doing weird stuff oh [ __ ] that I don't want to spoil it in case Luke does watch it and the listeners haven't seen it uh how how old is the movie It's they take him in they they're doing the medical check and it's the [ __ ] doctor from the restaurant and I was like oh God broke my heart yeah good movie anyway yeah anyway no honestly honest to God it it is a movie that takes you from just being literally balls to the wall comedy

right like just [ __ ] slapstick comedy to being the most heart-wrenching like drama you've ever seen to being to being just the most beautiful like affirmation that human beings are going to be okay like it really just does knock you around all right I I might see if I can give it a try then but I don't know if I will speaking of being knocked around emotionally Spider-Man is out of the MCU you're either going to go there or you going on a Rambo I wasn't sure yeah we could talk about rainow too but uh we didn't talk about this last week and I know it was It was kind of news when we were away uh but Spider-Man is out of the MCU because Sony I guess thinks they can go It Alone Now they like oh yeah we we figured out what to

do that's a very oversimplified explanation for that sure I really don't know how they could how they think this is going to work because everyone wants all the money no one just wants half the money well they they Sony said they wanted Kevin feig in charge of Spider-Man at a at a very you know close level and then apparently they're claiming Disney said well he's very busy so he he'll be splitting his time amongst all of the stuff and Sony said that's not good enough and I'm like what okay they they're claiming that's what the problem was I've heard a bit of that I've also heard got to do with the fee of Licensing I've got I've heard the wanted more of a okay yeah disy wanted to up to

a 50% split well I've heard that basically Disney were like we will license the Spider-Man character from you and then we will get 100% of the profits because because we have licensed the C the character from you oh okay we're not sharing we're paying you a fee to [ __ ] walk away and make a movie however you spin it Spider-Man will no longer be in the MCU and I don't mind because I've sto watching these anyway I haven't seen the new one yet I to watch the new one but I haven't I heard it's quite good it actually wasn't that bad yeah actually I've heard it's good from Luke but yeah no I think I'm a bit I'm a bit over the Marvel stuff now I'm not really looking forward to any of the things that they've got coming out

they can convince me like the television show Black Widow and I know black panther 2 Doctor Strange 2 Dr Strange 2 I'll watch for sure just yeah I know what you meant I'm just not excited by them no Guardians 3 I it's sort ofz yeah it's finished the whole they're going have to work pretty hard to to to ramp it back up again see you say that you say that but anytime I talk a h about this and I try to say like Marvel's going to try really hard she's like no they don't and anytime I say things like you know they've got a long way to go before they beat Star Wars as in terms of just like [ __ ] brand recognition and public awareness she's like no they

don't with people our AG sure oh yeah yeah but with the young people they'll literally see any movie that comes out with the mar Marvel logo on it and and they're like who the [ __ ] is Luke Skywalker and watch should I here yeah yep Disney knows how to keep printing money they sure do Sylvester Stallone does not apparent well does he he's doing all right yeah I'm sure but apparently this film's not real good which the last wasn't real good either but well I mean it was It was kind of that they've gotten steadily worse as they went along yes I think we can agree we're talking about the Rambo movies yeah yes yeah cuz that's I don't know if it's out yet but there are reviews for it now and yeah nothing that's quite good for and the author of

the first book He's says he's been embarrassed to be a part of honestly he could have said that at any point during the [ __ ] 80s and he didn't yeah yeah yeah I mean the first one was good but and then the second one just went in a completely different direction Thanks James the funny thing I I find about this is that um the first Rambo movie is not called Rambo it's called First Blood yes but then the second one was called Rambo First Blood part two part two this one is called last blood and what's the bet that in 3 years will have last Blood Part Two penultimate blood I don't know if we will cuz I'm

going to predict it being last blood that he's going to die oh yeah at the end of this that would be the new one but in in Rambo 3 he got a [ __ ] missile through the stomach and yeah that's right and in order in order to uh to overcome this uh slight burden he pushed the missile through he continued its trajectory out the back so that it had passed all the way through him and then he shot a bow and arrow at the person who [ __ ] fired the missile at him well he he he put gunpowder in the wound and then lit it on fire to quize it yeah sorry I yeah yes I skipped over that medical fact when the movie slips into documentary mode for a few minutes um so what I'm saying Luke is if he dies in this one I don't buy

it well this one I don't from the things I get it's it's reminded me a bit of taken from the trailer I saw looks like his daughter's been taken or something and he goes and saves her interesting that's what I onlya that's what it look like stop [ __ ] baiting me back into fighting whole armies on my own [ __ ] Jesus it has been a long time since Vietnam just let him [ __ ] rest let him yeah anyway I I I will probably watch it at some point because I watched all the others but yeah you're not going to be going to the movies for it no I got to go see it part two I'm going to go to the movies oh I almost went to see that last weekend just cuz I really like the first one yeah I really liked it too I

really liked it too scar sc's good I think the next movie I'm going to go for if it's not Ad Astra it's going to be Star Wars oh yeah three more till the end of the year I don't know how I feel I know sorry Craig I don't I don't know how I feel about the new let's just let's just wait and see there's no point in yeah trying to work out how we're going to feel about it just just we have to wait for ited have you yeah and I don't know how I feel about it Luke do you care okay I don't care either obviously the listeners are going to care so let's just put just just spit it out Matt and we'll just put a big sensor beep over the whole thing all right the spoiler that I read was that mhm

just in the on another planet to buy these oh for and he's like oh yeah I was no oh for God's sake I don't know if that's true it might not be true but I I like okay [ __ ] hell no I think there's a lot of rumors going around at the moment and I'm just I'm just going to wait and see there's no point in getting worked up or trying essentially what you're telling me Matt is that Star Wars Episode 9 is going to be up there with Highlander 3 maybe look cuz I and I was like it's that's so [ __ ] that it's probably not true but also it absolutely could be well there's other rumor

that anyone with a is oh god so let's just wait 3 months and then we will come back in 3 months time and we'll work it out then let's book some tickets look if I could just take us back to Rambo just real quick David Morel the author of the original uh First Blood um came out and said that the reason he doesn't like this new Rambo movie is because the character doesn't act like Rambo he just acts like Sylvester Stallone in an action movie um yeah his his specific comment was Rambo could have just been called John Smith fair enough um John Smith is Rufus seawell's

character in [ __ ] the man in the High Castle that's true which I just finished season 3 of and oh my [ __ ] God what a what a show yep wow fantastic season four soon is it yeah yeah yeah I think uh I think December I think oh man same with the expanse season 4 well now see now I can go back and and catch up on the expanse um I know I talked about this a little bit last week about how I was enjoying it I was about halfway through the series the second last episode of this is one of the best episodes of Television I've ever seen Matt without giving anything away that entire sequence out in the [ __ ] desert at the end of that episode holy [ __ ]

everyone in that scene there's not that many people in the scene deserves a [ __ ] Emmy for that yeah yeah [ __ ] me [ __ ] great show it's great it's great and there's so much there's so much left unexplained oh yeah absolutely I there's only don't to SPO there's only one thing in season 3 that it's fine but it just I was just like oh fine I I I don't want to spoil anything so I can't really say what it is but there's be over the top of it Matt beep over the top of it all right yeah except that well wait wait who which yeah yeah yeah but we've already seen I know I know so there must be something the reason that it all works is that what you mean yes it must work

go no no no what I mean is it's it is similar to other shows I know you like yeah yeah yeah just yeah I know I will get around to I've got Prime it's sitting there ready to go but I also want to watch like good omen Gooden yeah good the was good it wasn't great but it was good in my opinion yeah same and then I'm still just trying to catch up on all the games that I've sort of couldn't play while I was on holidays and then there are more games that are still coming out and and watching like the High Castle and stuff I can't really watch and play games at the same time with a show like that cuz I going to give all my all of my attention it's like the expanse I tried to put the expanse on when I was doing something

else and i' be like n yeah got to pay attention and like since we've been back I've only got like the 9,000 Gamers so I was I was going to ask you how your ranking has uh been affected I managed to keep 12th in Australia while I was off for that long and I was talking you up at work the other day your gamer score yeah yeah yeah and I told him about your gamer streak sorry to remind you about how that all ended yeah if he if he he can be 12th while doing the blah blah blah blah blah blah blah job that we're not allowed to talk about imagine how he's going to do next year when he doesn't to go to work yeah 2021 next year year after 15 months months away counting down yep you I can just stay home and just play and get that game score do you have a do you have a

ranking that you have got your eyes on I want to try and get top 10 but that's what are you now 12 I believe in you you can get top 10 for sure you can get top 12 with a full-time job you can get top 10 without having to leave your I'm a fair way behind I'm a fair way behind them and they're still also playing and getting gam so to get top 10 they're growing up they'll have to get jobs soon you going the opposite no the problem is a lot of the people who are above me this that is their job playing games it'll be your job too in streaming so my gamer score is 667,000 uh the top 10 is 73,000 so I'm like 40,000 behind yeah you can do that but they're also playing games as well and

even moving Target but if you've kept two spots behind them at this pace imagine what you can accomplish when nothing is slowing you down I'm going to buy you a big pack a jumbo pack of adult diapers yeah yep and hopefully by then they would have invented that pill that you take instead of eating oh just get the raid bucket yeah yeah hann's going to love that yep just have to call her in every now and again to clean up no ra bucket I'm going to be living with Matt then so I just have to call up to Matt to come and clean out my RAID bucket God mhm I get a toilet put in downstairs for you to sit on while you
