uh from the anger y yeah what have you lost at me well the the true achievements the true achievements competition I'm in at the moment yeah the one you promised well you promised listens you'd be ninth in the in the Australia I am ninth in Australia now oh okay good there you go there's a jingle you can play right now n in Australia but the true Chev is competition so I'm a little worried I may get eliminated tonight and I thought I'd make it to at least next week yeah so there's an hour and 45 minutes to go so I'm giving up my time to talk to you guys and our listeners piing up valuable gaming time I'm 218 people

that's not going to match 400 and then just just sneak in there right at the last minute right as we and slowly just drop positions every week I'm only about 500 gamer score for being 400 wow that's game not a lot I mean there's a lot more than 400 people in the world now I know not everyone has an Xbox some people have a PlayStation everyone will be on this website either cuz this only tracks people who are registered yeah but in saying that from what I've seen all the big like streamers and stuff that are concerned about gamer School are on here you say so okay so this competition only tracks people who registered because you used to track what I was doing before I had an account on there so I actually added you as a friend cuz I've got a pro

account I can add people presumptuous as my friend but but Matt didn't have an account just to be clear you're adding friends who don't even know they're being at yes yeah but Matt did then did add himself he's he's allowing a service to aggregate my personal data without my permission down what you're saying that yeah I guess that's what that's what I want Luke to say that's what I want Luke to admit that he's doing I've got no problem with that obviously I know I saw you'd been playing some no man's Sky again [ __ ] I'm I'm [ __ ] obsessed again so there's been a new update yeah yeah it's a new update it's [ __ ] so good like I've been thinking about it but I'm worried about jumping back in and just being confused i' start again I'd have to

start I did start again I did start again because the game's changed quite a lot since last time I played like there's a like it's got a whole [ __ ] story and everything it's I mean it did before but now it's even more elaborate like and okay certain things happen different want to play it it's so it was a story but it was sort of hard you had to really go out of your way to follow it for it now it's there wasn't always a story no no no that was the issue with launch it was just just go it was not what they were but I love the updat that they're doing because they're doing huge updates but it's not a give us more money right yeah so now there's like abandoned Freighters you can go and explore now and and all this just tons of extra stuff and then like I said you

wake up and and it's like you've got a a plot to follow as well as you can just kind of wander off and do whatever the [ __ ] you want so Y and now you your base you can build um you have to power your base you got to build solar panels and batteries to charge the base at night and then you build workstations in the base and then you go and the aliens you find have job like you hire them to do stuff at the base it's just tons of stuff like got added it's so good so see for me the whole Base building part do not care about no but this makes it useful in a way that it wasn't before for cuz I wanted that too I was like I [ __ ] I'm not going to bother with that and then I get I find this you know the little Geck the little little green guys and he was like hey I'll come and be

your um construction engineer and I was like what he's like oh you got to build me a station so the [ __ ] and then you get a little Quest and you build a station he comes and lives in your base and he's like hey I found this stuff for you like it's good okay I've been I've been wanting to give it a try again I might so own it I've been playing that and uh and watching Columbo so simultaneously yes H is Columbo colbo good to have on in the background of uh playing I've seen it all quite a few times so yes it is it's just nice to procedurals like that are actually quite good for playing those sort of long grindy games because you could half pay attention and especially with something you've seen a million times you don't

have to give a lot of attention to the show and then why you just doing mind-numbing stuff just over and over like collecting resources Works they work well together yeah and because I last time I watched all of Columbo I was playing Minecraft at the same time so this is kind of like the next iteration of that and I did get a lot of podcasts in when I was playing Conan so I do understand yeah yeah and I would just like to mention that God why don't they make TV shows like Columbo anymore where it's like I [ __ ] love it so much and it's just just most of the show is just two guys talking Columbo and the [ __ ] Villain Like that's what most you got to have action now I've got to I've got to go back and watch these I haven't watched them for a long time and

I never watched them in order should I start at the beginning Matt or should I is there a specific space I should pick up from yeah so it's it gets a little OD okay so this the season 1 through I think seven or eight it it goes from like the the70s through to like the 2000s um and but there are two pilot episodes uh which are quite good and they're from before you know there was actually like a series but the thing is that if you watch season one episode one which is technically the third episode um but it's season one episode one you'll find it was directed uh by somebody you're probably quite familiar with he was a quite famous director in the 80s uh directed a lot of movor Lucas close did you say did you say ' 80s

horror movies ' 80s ' 80s sci-fi uh movies looks correct wow season one episode one of Columbo Murder By the book directed by Steven Spielberg what yeah and it's actually my favorite episode and I didn't real I actually didn't realize I just looked up I actually looked up the actor who plays the killer in that episode cuz I was like what happened to that guy and uh it's actually a terrifying story because he uh he fell asleep with a cigarette lit and they found his body in the burnt doorway of his house he couldn't get out Jee Jesus [ __ ] me 25 5 years old when he directed that episode of Columbo it's a [ __ ] great episode so maybe start there and just see what you

think and just go for it it's got really like I I mean it explains it that it was Spielberg because it's just this it's just really well done the way that it's all set up and laid out and it's got really great scenes of him questioning the killer because the thing with Columbo we've talked about before is that you know who did it like we know who did it you see the murder happen and then Columbo comes in about you know a third the way through the movie and he has to figure it out but it's got really great scenes of him just kind of chatting and and W uping the Killer and and being like Oh I thought you said you didn't know her that kind of thing and then it's just really great moments like that where you go oh [ __ ] he's got him H so maybe start

there well if I don't like the first episode and I don't like the episode directed by Steven Spielberg then yeah it's probably not me so I think that is a good place to start yeah well that was like one of the first things he sort of really directed yeah um done a few little episodes but that was yeah that's very early on his career also Matt I don't know if you know this but if you if you have looked up the cast then you might already know this but that episode Stars Mara Wallace uh best known as the voice of Mrs kopel I didn't know that that's funny and I'm sure I know who she is too and in the episode I can I can guess uh wow all right so that's a thing I didn't know that it's a good episode it's about two

two authors uh they co-write and uh one of them kills the other one could happen and then and it's not a spoiler cuz it happens in the first 10 seconds of the that's what I love about it's just that they show you the M the murder and and then it's just how does Columbo figure it out yeah and the thing is too the the earlier ones spend a lot more time on the murder than the later ones did too like the the pilot episode the very first episode of Columbo literally half the episode is just you're watching them plan and execute this murder and then it's not like colum's only in it for half the show whereas in later in later episodes it was like you know 5 10 minutes and then then you get into it because they're like an hour and a half long too most of them they're like more

like movies than episodes speaking of great crime television that isn't on anymore there ain't going to be no more mind Hunter what yeah why it's done it's not unacceptable unacceptable it's uh it's stopped and everyone's working on other stuff and Finch has come out and said yeah Dam probably not going to be in the mood for any more mind Hunter I really liked that show I know I really liked it too just going to have to watch Hamilton over and over again to get my nothing gr fix yeah yeah you'll be back you could uh you could search on YouTube for the freestyle rapping that uh he does with L can't even say his name Lin Manuel Miranda yeah I know there there's a lot of good YouTube videos of compilations

of their Instagram stories and whatnot very funny well ly manwell does this uh he he wrote this song years ago called balls I I.E it's hot as balls here um and then he's redone it with new lyrics every couple of years ever since then and um keeps getting hotter yeah it's getting it's global warming mate it's real it's real keeps um hotter and hotter but the the latest one co-stars Jonathan gr so oh cool can't believe that's the same guy as mind Hunter [ __ ] talented guy yeah um look speaking of TV shows and I'm only going to say this just really briefly because we seem to talk about this every week and I'll have more to say when I finish the season I'm sure

but um Love cast country is [ __ ] great yeah it's really [ __ ] good get on it Luke it's so good it it it does the thing that I think all good horror does which is there's a monster but the real danger are what other people will [ __ ] do to you yeah there's a lot of that and uh the the fact that it's based like the racism the kind of race class structure undertones is all kind of based in fact but yeah it to me it just seems as Fantastical as the Sci-Fi elements you know what I mean like it's just you just can't believe that this happened I know I know yeah yeah I like there's a few things I'm like is that real Google it

yeah [ __ ] me all right yeah I know right yeah you're like no way that is made up that is no no okay that's America in the 50s okay sure yeah that's that used to happen all right that's that's disgusting and maybe sometimes still happens okay sure all right cool but I do yeah I love that they've taken because I mean I mean we talked about this a little bit already we love Lovecraft stories uh don't you know as a person probably not someone we should necessarily look up to I had some uh some opinions about certain people that were not good it just it was just a little scared little man you know that thought the world was out to get him specifically I love that they've yeah those people I love that they've taken

that and they've made it their own kind of almost commandeered it and made this really wonderful yeah kind of empowering story for themselves out it's [ __ ] awesome yeah and and they haven't done it in like a spike Le way which alienates us as white view it I know this is so good I want every show to be like this um you mentioned it briefly last week and I won't go into it but there's an episode where a character um has the opportunity to become white and that is the single greatest hour of Television I've seen and I don't know how no it's amazing so amazing yeah I might get around to it one day I think you'll like it Luke no honestly it's got like it's it's it's not I know you're not a horror dude but it's not it's a little goofy as well you know what I

mean it's Camp it's Camp as and in fact I do like Camp the episode I just watched like um one of the characters goes into like a parallel universe and ends up in space with like a goofy 70 space helmet it's super love crafty it's so good [ __ ] great okay I may need to watch it a bit sooner and you know what I I think Hannah might like it too Luke so you could probably convince her to give it a go as well we'll see how long are the episode it's just an hour yeah an hour an hour okay I can probably find time between playing games I watched the first episode of Raised by Wolves I'm go I'm not going to talk about too much what did you because you guys already talked about but I likeed it a lot and I will continue off yep y y very cool and don't listen to what Luke

says it stays that good all the way to the [Laughter] end if anything it maybe I need to watch that last episode again I think you had two high expectations for it and I think perhaps you you paved the way for me by it's only Ridley Scott I me what do you want from him did you guys see that ad that was put online this week from the 80s Ridley Scott directed car commercial that aired only once and then got pulled off air no that sounds really beautifully done I mean it's it's nothing that fancy but it's it's a it's a Nissan sports car from the late 80s and uh the the it's just it driving and then other vehicles try to chase it a car first and then a motorbike and then eventually a plane um and there's this

voiceover that goes over it that says I had a dream that I was driving the new Nissan and everyone was trying to catch me um I've directed over a thousand commercials yeah yeah it's very good it's very beautifully directed but apparently I could sort of understand why it was only Ed once yeah cuz everyone complained that it was glorifying speeding basically okay huh yeah it basically said buy this car and just go as fast as you [ __ ] can yeah nothing can catch you so don't worry about the police yeah well at the end of the ad this plane is following and he's like and just when I think they're going to catch me I slip it into turbo and he runs yeah because over here on in TV commercials I'm sure you can't do this

in Australia I never I remember it being a thing that you couldn't do this over here you can just say we're better than uh than Mazda by the way in like a TV commercial yeah you're not allowed to mention other brands although sometimes they come very very close yeah yeah they really [Laughter] do yeah I love your ads though your are better than ours every time I go to America I watch television just for commercials because they're like little [ __ ] movies all of except for your ads about medication I know that's terrifying list yeah like side effects may include and go list goes on and on yeah speak skin turning inside out yep but they have to do that so they

don't get sued that's why yeah that's a bit different the ads here in Australia they can't actually advertise the name of the product wait what like always medication oh medication yeah like medication like prescription based medication they can't actually advertise the name of the product so they'll have like ads on and then go if this is you speak with your doctor and that's why they spend money to go out and see the doctor yep and go hey doctor you can prescribe this for this just to remember the whole champix tablets to stop smoking MH um they had ads for them but they never said champix that's interesting like if you're having trouble quitting speak with your doctor and it was all about getting those tablets they show them or just host of this podcast used to champix at least

once a year yeah it works great on me oh does it yeah CH because I may me quit so quickly except then I tried to become a social smoker tried to become a social smer once I quit I tried to wean myself on but only when I'm at the pub I was terrible at it I'm just not I'm just not good with people smoking I just found myself smoking by myself there are those people who can do that just when they're having a couple drinks they have a couple smokes and be I tried to be that person but me it just turned into I've had a smoke I now smoke now those people didn't smoke throughout their teens I think that's the they never take Serious 20 [ __ ] years yeah I if I was allowed to I'd start smoking again tomorrow you all if I could afford

it no if I could afford it man I think the cheapest packet of cigarettes in Australia now is like 40 bucks that's so I think it's even it's closer to 50 these days Lord and that's for a pack of 25s I just come here I'm pretty sure they're cheap I you know where you want to go if you want to be a smoker and you don't want to spend a lot of money Indonesia $2 a packet yep wow mhm there you go L it's $2 here austr go there actually I don't know how how's Indonesia doing with the old uh Corona virus there's talks about the May be wanting to get into our travel bubble is that euphemism yeah and Australia is going to be like well can we start bringing hero in there again what US need to hurry up and announce the travel bubble so I can start planning my

trip well I mean America can be in the bubble too can we can we come in the bubble um I'm going to go with no I think if you we're doing very well I orange man telling me we're doing very well I mean you guys didn't you just set the record for most people diagnosed in the day around man breaking the records left and right I mean you've got a leader who literally continued saying that Co was no threat when he contracted it himself he's fine though isn't he is he I I mean well he's not dying of Co I guess I don't know fine is the right word I would use to describe him but I don't know man yeah no we're we're not doing well over here so no you're actually going getting worse y like not me a lot worse fine but

yeah you just locked yourself in that room yeah you live in the bush no one's allowed at your house exactly yeah I mean that's what that's what we're all meant to do that's what other countries did mhm what I I don't understand America's obsession with not being told what to do like I assume it goes back to the Revolutionary War it it's a thing and it's on levels that I would not even have thought anyone would give a [ __ ] about like sometimes I'm just like wait you only care about that because they told you to do it if if no one was telling you to do it you'd do it like pop a mask on there was actually a w in Australia you told me to put a mask on so I will not do it but that's the thing

so Biden at the at the I watched the the debate the other night and Biden's like if I get in I'm going to make it mandatory to wear masks I'm like you just lost the election MH well we'll see there was a woman in Australia who like even had put posts on Facebook like wear your mask it's all good for you but then when the government came out and said like in Victor you need to wear your mask she went out and started protesting nope you can't tell me what to do and it was just that like because she was told she thought it was against her rights but she thought they were a good idea but she wasn't had to to do yeah that's the old Jordan Peterson argument isn't it though like he's not going to call like I'll call Trans people what they want but you

can't tell me to do it yeah I'm doing it because I want to do it yeah I want I want to make it very clear that I have I am I am doing this cuz I want to do it yeah [ __ ] all right mate yeah settle down you win yeah that means the law is probably not for you then it's probably for the people who won't [ __ ] isn't it that's right yeah if you're admitting that you're a pretty guy who's more than you have a whole lot to worry about yeah judge them on a Case by case basis and listen to what they have to say then yeah probably not aim at you mate yeah just pop I mean here's the thing technically he's right yes I mean the government probably shouldn't be able to mandate how you speak but at the end of the

lime GI lime GI lime sounds like a disase that's an old one no I just buy the cheapest one because I make it quite strong I [Laughter] uh that's it that's his alcohol right yeah that's just how I mix stuff I uh uh I bought I was at Big W the other day and I bought a packet of I bought a big packet of Fredo frogs because I was like I think I live in the kind of neighborhood now where kids might do trick-or-treating so you know we're only a week out from so I'll buy this um they're almost gone are they gone yeah almost almost I just can't have candy in my house same I do I I go up to there's like a store up the road that has it's called the Dollar General it's [ __ ] great if you want like

snacks it's perfect but if I buy anything it just goes especially cuz I work at home now yeah like if I buy you know there's these hot jalapeno Cheetos that I like and they're [ __ ] atrocious for you like they must be they're not it's not pure sodium yeah it's it's not food but if they're in the house it's like my brain's like knows that they're there I can sense the presence and it's like no they've got to be inside me or nothing I have to go and I have to call Dan out on something okay Fredo frogs are not candy they are chocolate uh same thing mate no very different really candy is amazing what chocolate is terrible what you like chocolate but I love candy give me straight sugar oh look I luk I

think you're literally one step away from just eating sugar yeah he's like anol to do it on sucros I was over at uh Michael Kemp's house after school once and we were watching a movie what you were going to say the other day no [ __ ] no Michael Kim's house the other day do you know he's a he's like a bodybuilder now he's like immense wow he's he's massive yeah he's really just [ __ ] focused on getting buff right and he has but once When We Were Young we were watching The Adams Family part two and I was like you got anything to eat in your house and he was like you got a sweet tooth and I was like yeah sure yeah he went into the kitchen he came back with two plastic

juice cups you know the big ones really big ones and in each one was a mixture of sugar and icing sugar and a spoon what that waswe that was his idea of a snack and and you want some diabetes yeah when someone asks you do you have a sweet tooth you just before you say yes cut out the middle man maybe he's going to bring me an apple pie or something that would be [ __ ] delicious yeah man I mean I joke about the sugar content of sugar but I feel like a lot of what Luke eat just sugar with some flavoring added so including GI lime yeah I remember I was at a friend's house in in high school and I think we're watching a

[Laughter] [Laughter] just his attitude about it yeah he was making fun of me you how to eat noodles [ __ ] no no he had no right to do that no actually I like my noodles a lot less soupy than I did when I was young yeah I like the ones that come with the little sack sack little sack of oil yeah it's not normally I don't normally describe it that I'm obsessed with the migang ones yes spicy the little packet of crispy noodles of crispy onions I mean yeah yeah yeah that's the one [ __ ] they're good they're so good although must say when yeah uh when I worked at in uh

Alexandria there's like really good um I guess Southeast Asian restaurants and I had real like Nazi Goring and oh [ __ ] that stuff's so good mhmh the real MSG Laden version of it yeah yeah should have come and visited me in Singapore know we ate some great food when when he was over they know how to make food [ __ ] tell you that I mean not good service let's be honest no not like here oh see America's too good it annoys me I know I'm like stop trying to get a tip I'll tip you just calm the [ __ ] down that's why I think it's is good it's right in the middle we had breakfast out yesterday and I was like I've got I've got enough coffee stop asking want some more coffee no it's there's no room in the

[Music] mug um we were talking about television at some point uh before we went down this Rat Hole yeah sorry um but they're doing more Dexter now I'll be honest I can't even remember what happened in the end of Dexter except he became ajack or something y he killed Deb what or Deb died something Deb right and then Dr Rod his boat out into the storm the tsunami that was coming and then uh and he was a lumberjack okay and so now they're I thought they were doing a reboot at first there was like Whispers of a new Dexter and it was like oh are they going to reboot Dexter and then they're like nope coming back for a 10 episode season it's confirmed apparently this is happening like he's coming back Michael

SE Hall is coming back to not Deb fix no I guess not uh to fix the finale whatever that means H so oh it was not a very satisfying ending I'll be honest I mean I didn't think it was great but I remember not being angry about it no but I mean after really hope that when they say fix it's just uh like they're going to extend it on and finish it off not go back and try and redo the end yeah like some kind of ironic thing like that would be weird because I feel like I mean I loved that show and the first four seasons were fantastic and I kind of wish that it it had ended after that the one with the season with John litho yeah [ __ ] amazing and they should have kind of yeah the first season then you have the

season where there was that other cop that started figuring it out then you had the Jimmy Smith season yes then the John litho season oh man no no wait [ __ ] wasn't there aasin Hanks in it as well that was great too man yeah that's what I'm saying like it was good after that it just wasn't I feel like it was stretching it at that point like it was still good yeah cuz it was uh Colin Hanks and Edward James alos mhm mhm in that season and then stovsky was in a season oh that's right I'd forgotten about that just that last one Dara was in there at some point yep that's right yeah yeah she was in the first four seasons yeah Trinity speaking of Dar I don't want to ratle this too much but have you guys heard of

Cameo H is that that app pay people to send you a y I discovered this yesterday because a friend of mine posted on her Facebook it was her 40th birthday and Ernie Hudson made her a video and he was wearing the [ __ ] Ghostbusters overalls oh wow yeah and he was like Alicia it's your birthday you know happy birthday don't cross the streams as I always say and I was like [ __ ] what and I've seen some of them and it's just basically them just walking to the shops go I better film some of these on their phone even so right so I I downloaded the cuz I I was like [ __ ] who how does how does this person know Ernie Hudson and um and then H was like dude it's an app it's an app anyone can do it and then at first I thought she meant like it's like a face

swap app you know like a deep F thing and then I was you can pay people to write message to to to either text you or make videos for you and some of them like Chuck noris $300 right but like [ __ ] dala it's like 50 bucks if you a message her let's get a multiple no that would be all right there's people from my high school on here there's people from New Town high in my grade on there and I was like you are not famous enough to be on here if they're on here we can be on there the um a friend of ours got a birthday message from Sean Aston which was really really sweet message from him which was and it was like 10 minutes long and I'm like I wonder was really long too yeah and um the red letter media got one from uh someone got it for them because did you

see they had a spat with William Shatner recently oh yeah I yeah yeah so they had a little little back and forth with William not really but William Shatner was [ __ ] on them because he didn't understand that nerd crew was a joke basically that's the of it he thought they were corporate shills and anyway um so they had a little bit of a spat on Twitter mostly it was red media fans having to go at William Shatner but then they got a cameo from Jonathan Frakes who plays reer mhm who clearly had no idea what was going on it was just a message from him saying oh Mike and Jay just wanted to tell you stick in there mate don't worry about it too much you're doing a great job you know you've got people there are people who love you that's amazing yeah I bet I mean the all of

these people that just like clearly don't have a lot to do um but then there's I guess yeah yeah yeah but I'm like there's Lindsay Lohan on there like how much time is she really dedicate to this yeah so I guess your birthday I'm going to get Tara Reed to send you a message T be okay with that she's she's been at Ro Island ComiCon a couple times and they do the um American Pie reunion tit Kimbo no clothed that's where uh that's Jenna's most shameful story that she gets up gets shitty when I mentioned it cuz we saw uh what's her name Min oh yeah comic and we're talking to her and Jenna forgot we were in Rhode Island cuz she just she been in Sydney for so long and then she CU Shear's from Rhode

Island and and we so we're talking to her and I said are you from rhod Island right and she said yeah yeah and J's like oh I'm from too and she was like yeah I know yeah I probably I assumed that that's amazing sorry that's so good that's so good that's that's like the celebrity equivalent of every time a waiter tells me to enjoy my meal I say thanks you too like it's just it seems my head to say oh will and he then he tucks in yeah he's like oh can I oh I I'm sure [ __ ] it why not looks good looks good oh I wouldn't eat this oh I don't eat here so yeah new Dexter fine we'll see see whether that sus I'm in whatever yeah I'll watch it yeah I remember I really fanboyed out

once when I met the guy who made the opening title sequence for that show um oh yeah I met him at an event and oh he did a talk that I went to and then afterwards there was a drinks and I was like I was saying to my mate who I was with I was like oh [ __ ] I wish I could talk to him he's like go to talk to him this [ __ ] He's nobody yeah and uh but for some reason I got real shy I went up and I was like oh Dexter but yeah that's a great open title squence though yeah it's really good it's good except for one thing half of it is him shaving and the final shot is him walking out with like a nice stubble yeah sure yeah the way they made all the you know the morning routine look murderous yeah well done ketchup in the in the pan

no honestly Matt I think I have no opinion whatsoever on this cuz I I knew of a wook that was uh a Jedi his name was laka Loy for sure and he was chew's nephew and he went off and he studied to become a Jedi but that's no longer Cannon did he do that because Chewbacca was hanging out with a bunch of Jedi and he was like oh those guys seem pretty cool I think he might have been dead by then oh Chewbacca's nephew was before New Hope no no Chewbacca got crushed by a moon yes that's how Chewbacca goes he gets crushed by a moon well not anymore yeah he went out yeah that's how originally he did die now he's the only one that's still alive yeah except that he did die in an explosion and then

didn't because one you one of the good guys in a Star Wars movie now that's right you're invulnerable yeah yeah so I yeah I don't know anymore well this guy's name isaga Baga the the Jedi wook one thing I've always found about Wookies when they have them in the movies though apart from trua they all look weird yeah agreed like especially like in Solo they look funny I can't put my finger on it any costume except Chewy's costume is wrong guys the holiday special is like so creepy with those like not quite right Wookies yeah watching [ __ ] a stripper on Hol TV so weird 20 minutes

like it just goes on nothing so weird there's a scene it's just occurred to me there's a scene in Steven not Steven Spielberg uh George Lucas's first movie THX 1138 um where uh where THX th the main character sits there and watches hologram porn it's very similar to that scene you think George leas is probably a VR porn Enthusiast at this point yeah yeah or at least yeah he was just hoping that was going to become a thing he's like if I put this in enough shows eventually someone in the tech industry is going to be like yeah I guess we could make VR porn that's my uh Oculus Rift I like it uh faster and more intense

I've dildonic attached to that George Lucas has done the weirdest Cameo I've ever seen what recently no no no this is like in the 8S and I've never understood it it was ' 80s or early '90s he was had a cameo in Beverly Hills Cop 3 really really yeah but actual Foley's in the theme park George Lucas is there and he even has a line it's just the strangest thing I've never understood guess young me didn't realize that's who that was he did uh I love all the I mean all actors did this in the in the 80s where they would go to Japan and do TV commercials they thought no one's ever going to see now thanks to there will never be a platform where English speakers will be able to watch this this

embarrassing [ __ ] that I've done for a lot of money in Japan schwarzeneger made a lot of money with really embarrassing Japanese commercials his are [ __ ] great now like if I was him I would not be ashamed of that he's a [ __ ] hilarious oh yeah but cu the Lucas ones are just mostly like bad knockoff Star Wars characters and he's there going buy the new Nikon camera it's great um Steven Spielberg has a cameo in The Blues Brothers that I didn't realize when I was a kid either yeah right at the end you know cuz the whole thing is they're they're trying to get to the [ __ ] place right I don't know why I'm trying to avoid spoilers for a movie that's like literally years old yeah but um Spielberg's the guy at the desk huh when they get there I'm going to have to

watch that again that's a great movie it's fantastic it is it's a sequel not so much no but I forgot there was one BL Blues Brothers is an excellent movie it's it's funny it's got great music and as a film it's absolute perfection like the script is just water tied illino nais it's one of those that era of just really original movies they actually a lot of them were satday live people ex Night Live people making these really original comedies like Ghostbusters and bles brothers and all that stuff like they don't do that anymore they certainly do not man either they do or we don't hear about it I don't even know who's on Saturday Night Live anymore as far as as I can tell it's just bill Hager and Kristen wig that's all I

Governors General instead a governor generals sure but then for some reason my brain tries to find other things like like is the plural of muchacho Muchachos or is it moose chacho you know I like moose chacho better yeah yeah we're getting a sequel to Willow Willow look what's I don't I remember there was a movie called Willow I have no idea what it was about really I [ __ ] loved Willow I cannot remember movies I'm sure you remember every line of it Luke you don't remember a damn thing and I had a poster of it on my wall and remember bits and pieces of it but not a lot and I think together we represent the three people in the whole world who even remember this as a

movie help help there's a PE with an acorn pointed at me it's a great movie when I was a kid too cuz I had the I had the poster on my wall and Val Kilmer's name was above Warick Davis and at that point I just that that was Val Kilmer so for years for years I thought Val Kilmer was a dwarf that's great yeah so is coming back is Val Kilmer oh that's a good question I guarantee you he is because I guarantee you this is the only job offer he's had in a very long time isn't he going to be in Top Gun yeah or was he just asking to be in top now he's in Maverick I think oh God maveri about that yeah that's cuz everything's on hold um yeah so they're doing a TV series uh followup to Willow uh W Davis will reprise the role of

to do he reprised his role as Corporal Hicks for that audio book I listened to with Lance henriksson alien man his I got to say his performance not not great no offense Michael love you but he's phoning that in well yeah Willow series I mean I'll check it out I don't think I'll cuz I'm getting I'm going to be getting Disney plus again this week mandalorian's coming out but I don't think I'll be holding on to it for the willow show the thing about Willow is it's very 80s and it's very camp and I wonder if they will [ __ ] this up by trying to make it like Game of Thrones or something that cuz that would not that's not going to not going to fit and I wonder if people would like it if they didn't you know

for any listen that are slightly too young yeah this is that unique brand of 1980s kids targeted fantasy that just didn't survive the decade yes like everything is very glossy and and like it's like funny like there sword fights but no yeah there's no yeah blood or anything actually there is a a creepy little monster in it that gets turned inside out by a magic spell but you know that's that's the one but that's that was an ' 80s thing as well was that you had to have a little gross out monster a bit in your movie like Gremlins at the end of Gremlins where he melts like that was a kid movie until the end yeah but that's the thing about 80s kids movies was that the stakes were high man like yeah on the subject of Gremlins which I

rewatched uh probably earlier in the year that [ __ ] scene where she tells the story about her dad like as a kid that I fast forwarded through it yeah as a kid scary as [ __ ] and then yeah yeah but then when you watch it as an adult you're like well I'm not scared but why the [ __ ] is this in the movie yeah yeah like did the writer of that just be like hey [ __ ] Toby Hooper I just got an idea for a for a scene yeah go on go on um they take a break from running from these like kind of funny little critters and she just talks about her [ __ ] dead father [ __ ] rotting in the chimney for days yeah sure we'll put that in that's great yeah yeah right write it up and we'll get it a maybe improv around that tomorrow like brod G with his Blade

character sheets with actors lines for just one specific actor and then just give you your lines only so even the ones that we do have in his own handwriting basically are just compilations that people have made later yeah right y did you go to have you been to Shakespeare the theater in London I was meant to Matt for my [ __ ] 40th but guess what I walked past it well I didn't go in say last year in there it's very interesting did you see anything there m did you see a play no no no we just did tour and they talked about it and stuff interes we didn't see we didn't see a play I wanted to see one cuz they do there's one company that does or pronunciation there and it's like everybody talks like this you know which is how how londoners

would have spoken back in those days yeah they're talking about even people had to track across the river to go to the theater and stuff like that it's fascinating you know what's a good movie Shakespeare in Love is a good movie I rewatched it last year it's clever as [ __ ] it's really good has that got Gwyneth palro in it it does yes there's a Columbo episode with her Mom oh I was watching Columbo and I'm like that that looks like gwth palro but she's not that old and I'm like oh it's a mom really y I wonder if GTH P's mom does weird vagina stuff too there's a lot of lot of people in Columbo that you'll recognize and go who's that look up a lot of weird vagina stuff fog was just really into it for some reason may he rest in peace I don't remember I was watching an episode of

The Nanny when I was like 14 and they were talking about Columbo and she was like she's like yeah I don't like Columbo you you know who did the Murder in the First 5 minutes and then the rest of the episode you speak you spend trying to figure out which one's with the glass eye and I'm like he has a glass eye glass eye definitely has a glass there's also I mean this is there's a there's a sequence in one of them where he falls down a hill and he rolls down a hill and I remember being like I had this I had a lot of respect for Peter Fulk because in my head he must have just done that because in my head it was it was one continuous shot and the other day I was playing my game and that scene came up and I watched it no there's a cut of course and I was like a

[ __ ] for some reason for like 40 years I've thought [ __ ] Peter fell down a hill cuz that's how much he loves the character of Columbo yeah that's great the stunt man when I was really little I um I when I first started getting into Film Production as in getting into it mean like just understanding that Film Production was a thing I wrote this like I made this book like you know just by folding paper and and which was like how to do special effects and it was just my own interpretation and it was just every movie I'd seen if there was a special effect and I would write how they did it like according to a [ __ ] 5-year-old in [ __ ] war gber and um literally like 90% of the special effects that I wrote about were involving look Alik Brothers like I would just I just

assumed that almost every special effect was and then one day Christopher Nolan found that book dusted it off and was like I got an idea for a film then the prestige was born MH H Matt this I'm going to bring this full circle your mate Vim vendors right yes a man we have both met with on one level or another um made a movie in the 80s called Wings of Desire yes um which stars uh they got remade into City of Angels right we're not going to talk about that but yes it's that um stars the guy from the Hitler meme in the lead role oh that guy yeah it stars uh Nick Cave as himself cuz he was living in Berlin at the time and it stars Peter folk as himself cuz he was also in Berlin at the time they made that shooting a film and

vas just Incorporated all these like really rad people into the movie so I I have I am one degree from Peter ful yeah you are well that's that's heartening cuz he's died now I'm not going to get the chance but you did tell Vim venders to go [ __ ] him so aot of people you did tell the founder of the new German Cinema to go [ __ ] himself I didn't know who he was Dan in my defense I did not know who he was you better hope I die before you Matt because if not your epot carved on it's gonna be Vim venders can go [ __ ] himself mad yeah yeah forget my boss's [ __ ] face when he got back he thought it was funny but it's it is funny did you say did you say these words today Bim ven go [ __ ]
