[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy all right I've got a bone to pick with you and Dan right Dan's not here we'll get to that later yeah you'll have to settle for me this week so only you bring it on you got me back into playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey yes yeah at gunpoint so I went back cuz there's some DLC like the episodes like the fate of Atlantis and some title updates so I went back to play I had last week of work and I went I'll play a bit of Assassin's Creed and then I'll focus on achievements MH yeah I spent the entire

week playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey yeah it's a it's a good game and uh you're welcome well I just like I be on my way to go and do this Quest that'll get me an achievement and then I'll go past somewhere I haven't explored yet yeah and I go well I'll just call in here and do this and in the fate of Atlantis because the levels were big but small at the same time the way I ended up like the tius yeah the way I ended up playing them was I went through and I basically unlocked everything on the entire map before doing a lot of the quests okay it wasn't until I'd finished it that I didn't I worked out that I didn't have to do that to get all the achievements so I waited like 12 hours so I haven't played fate of Atlantis and I should I've been

playing Valhalla still um but is there a new map ah there's three levels so you sort of go into the Animus and you do like yeah um Hades the underworld oh so you actually go to like different maps and yeah interesting kind of like the is it like the Asgard stuff in Valhalla yeah yeah okay cool yep yeah it just takes you somewhere a little bit different and yeah they actually decent size but there were a lot of auto title updates that I hadn't played and each of them were taking like 30 minutes to an hour and there 12 of them and kep getting distracted how dare they keep releasing content for these games after you've already finished them finished it moved on but I had to go through cuz I still want this to be like

the Assassin's Creed game that I have completed 100% so I still have all the achievements now so Odyssey is the game yes all right and not valhala uh valhalla's got the new Siege of Paris DLC out now yeah I haven't even finished the island stuff yet no no I mean I'm not I'm I'm like you know how I play I'm just yeah experiencing it at my own pace I'll finish it at some point so whereas I just play it finish it move on yeah not sure I've gotten an achievement in the last couple of months and I probably got more today than you yet have in the past couple of months that's probably true I mean almost certainly true cuz I I've only been playing Valhalla and I've not gotten that many achievements

you probably know more than I do how many I have oh I could very easily look that up right now if you want to know what's the last achievement you probably don't what's the last achievement you got all right let me open it up and it'll be in val actually be be very surprised if it wasn't I always get to go where my friends are yeah and there you are okay so yep your last achievement was on August 7th okay oh it's not too far right that's not too bad the good Saxon achievement in Assassin's Creed Valla okay and that's all that's been Valla Valla Valla um yep so it's been fora since the June 27th okay what did that was also a day you switched over from Odyssey cuz that same day you got achievements in

Odyssey right well what did I get the good Saxon for what did I do all right the good Saxon was to complete the East Angelia Arc okay all right it's a story related achievement so you progress the story a little bit yeah got that helped that little that little weedy guy in uh Anglia you oh I don't remember any characters in I remember sort of the story okay a little bit all right well yeah great game both great games actually who knew who knew the Assassin's Creed games would be something I would be playing so much look I what was the one before Origins Origins I didn't like I saw what they were trying to do but they really did get it right with Odyssey and Valhalla yeah right I've got Origins and I want

to play it but I mean yeah Fe the game you're playing now well don't get into another 100 hour game no I will and cuz then I got to go back now I'm obviously got to go back to Odyssey so yeah yeah there's a fair bit of content like there each those levels each took me like eight hours each like each of the episodes and I will point out that neither of those games are on on Game Pass which I am also paying for Odyssey I owned the disc that was probably the last disc I ever brought M I gave that to my sister when I gave her one of my old Xboxes so I had to go and re the game to be able to play it the really annoying thing the only copy I could get on sale was $40 and that came with all the DLC that I'd already purchased yeah

right bit the bullet got it this week they now have that game on its own on sale for 20 bucks oh yeah there is there's a big go Stu for sale yeah so that was annoying yeah yeah yeah but it is what it is it is uh a game I've got to go back to and I'm now excited to cuz it's a series X and S enhan this happened this came out this update was a little while back but we didn't talk about it I don't think but hellblade sen sacrifice is now series X and S enhanced and that game was already beautiful so oh this game was amazing yeah so I'm I'm pretty excited to get back into that I only got up to uh you know I don't even know I was in the illusion world I think in it so that's all a bit like that I just love

the voices in your head and I do recommend if you're playing it play it with headphones yeah right that makes sense cuz you get the voices like in your head yeah yeah like the real voices in your head yeah it drowns to m a little bit yeah it's hard to tell which ones are the game though well I might actually go back and install these because there's one achievement I'm missing in it oh okay there's one collectible achievement I missed on the Xbox version I got it on the Windows version so right I'll play through a third time it's a good game and it is beautiful well this one's better than cuz I I we talked about I finished full in order and then almost immediately they released the update so I was like God damn

it but if you if you held out for it then just mean that there's a p even bigger pile of games you need to play so it's better just to get it out the way and sometimes the updates I can't actually tell the difference yeah okay they're probably there but it's been so long since I've play I just remember it looking like this do you notice the frame rate difference between Valhalla and odyssey um no cuz I've not played them back to back yeah okay cuz i' it's been a long time since I've played Valhalla I just yeah I suppose you play a lot of non series X Games anyway I imagine yeah so yes I play anything and everything I still haven't finished Mass

Effect remaster which is driving me crazy I definitely haven't I've barely begun it I bought it and then I got distracted by Assassin's Creed I got it I powered through one and two I got halfway through three and then I got up to this one of the dlc's yeah and it really just I found that whole story arc really boring and it just slowed me down in playing the game wa you don't attention to the story anyway but but no just I know I don't pay attention to the story a lot but I do already know the story from Mass Effect yes but this just really slowed down gameplay yeah okay it was all touchy Fey talking to characters and let's have a party well you can't have nice things no I can't the internet makes sure of

that mhm well sticking with games yes I know a game we all loved when it first came out yes Far Cry 3 and remember there was that little add-on for it that little blood dragon that sort of came from nowhere of course of course it was very quick game it was just fun just fitting off all the old 80s Sci-Fi Action movies well that might be getting re-released soon okay it's been listed for getting a ratings which normally is a good indication that they're about to re-release it again and why not I think didn't they say it was going to be part of the Far Cry 6 oh hang on a minute with this being that they're just doing this game on its own it looks like that it's a standalone release yeah I see I'm reading this now

okay so yeah it is coming out with the season pass but they might actually just re-release it on its own well that would be good cuz then I complex I don't think I'm going to play Far Cry 6 I mean I I might really I thought you liked the last two I liked well I yeah see I really liked five and I liked uh well see I I did like At first the one you know it wasn't even the new next one the expansion I guess it's an expansion sort of it's an expansion it's sort of I think it's 52 yeah F yeah exactly I I like it but I never finished that and then this one is more um uh kind of like drug cartel stuff again that is not as interesting to me I I didn't think I didn't think five

looked that good before it came out either but then I started playing it and I was like oh no this is really good so look I think with this one this is like the perfect game for you because you'll be able to finish this Blood Dragon Blood Dragon yeah yeah cuz that was what 2 hours or something it wasn't long if I remember correctly I don't know about that maybe four probably took me longer than that uh H in one sitting so yeah well you're a special case though you're a special voice yeah you can't yeah um let's see um let's go where is it blood dragon I want to check I want to go back and look at the achievements for it because it'll tell me how how long it took me to get them oh I see so I got the first achievement on the 4th of May

2013 at 11:33 mhm I got the last achievement at 4th of May at 5 at 6:00 so it took me 6 hours 6 7 hours 7 house yeah all right and I didn't get all the achievements for that well I am going to have to go back and fix that I really don't want to though cuz it's going to be having to play the whole game from start to finish again oh no go through and then go through and get the then I have to go and kill 25 dragons I was going to say is it something to do with with cat hunting animals or dragons or some [ __ ] it's kill a dragon with a bow kill 25 dragons and head shot every type of enemy which I'm going to guess the only one I'm waiting on is a

dragon let's go shoot some dragons then and I don't have a save file for it so yeah and it's oh it's oh this is back in the days where games came out with only 400 gamer score huh not the Thousand that they all come with now even if they take you three minutes to unlock them all didn't even know about that did you know that they're making a new uh Alice game or I I think they are anyway really yeah it's been a very long time since we're seen an ALICE game American McKee's website it's called Alice Asylum and I think he's making it it's okay it's not quite clear to me what he's what's going on he's got a mailing list set up and they're posting cuz he posts the art from it a lot on um on Twitter and

everything but I think yeah so I'm pretty sure they're working on it the last one of that was great yeah it was a good game yeah and I think it's been long enough yeah so he lives in Hong Kong now and so he's working with the studio he ownes the rights to the games for Alice doesn't yeah and I think he owns the movie rights too or something as some he's I there's quite a lot going on with him that I'm not quite I'm not sure he's got a I mean look at on his website look at projects he's got a lot going on okay he wants to make it Asylum he wants to make Asylum he's been working on he's got the artwork done he's just saying that he's waiting for EA to come up and go hey oh we'll give you some money did they own

it right um while I and Ellis F would like would have liked the next EA horror project to be new L game this does at least move us forward in line um some point in the future exx a will shall need more product and someone will reply Alice and we'll be ready I see I think he might have a deal with them or something or okay so he's not actually technically working on it from a actually a happening point of view he's working on it from a I'm going to work on this and then when they ask me for it I'll have it I've got stuff ready to go evidently the story's already worked out yeah by Louis Carol my my goal is to build a production design plan have that plan approved by AA and then raise funding to develop a new game

okay I will give you money to make this game how much money it's been 10 years yeah right madness Returns was good look God probably oh depending on I'm I'm I'm this may sound crazy I'd probably go up to about $50 hey I'm not sure that' be enough to make a game though well well I'm I'm thinking other people are going to Chuck in as well but the reason why I don't want to go all out I get you I Get You Ah that's a good idea why don't another compan that just get everybody to give them money like Star Citizen yeah wait that game is still not out star who Star Citizen oh is that that game from like 100 years ago that was supposed to come out it was meant to come out in 2012

yeah I know and they keep like people want proof of life [ __ ] are you actually even working on this game at this point well they they can sort of play the game but there's been no official release and they released something recently right yeah but even like news sites have gone quiet about this game remember like even like 3 4 years ago they were news sites were going what's happening with the game they've got all this money nothing's out and now they just gone this isn't news anymore we're just saying the same stuff over and over no one cares the reason the reason why I won't give too much money to um American McGee to make it is I've been burned by a lot of crown finding loudly yeah right there's been a few Pro I've just

gone through and looked through my Kickstarter and I've gone hold on there's a ton of stuff I haven't gotten yeah right and I know stuff has been postponed due to pandemic and things but then there's other where I'm going no you're not giving us any update and from reading the comments you disappeared off the face of the earth I emailed American McGee back in the day I'm just trying to did he respond yeah he did oh that's nice of him again and go hey what's happening give you 50 bucks I don't know I think it's not even in this current email this is a very long time ago I emailed him and I said I wanted to get into the games industry I think this was like we just finished school and everything right oh yeah and uh and I said you

probably have a different email address yeah probably I don't even know what like I said I don't even know where I emailed him at but he did reply and he said um I don't remember the specifics but he said that you know he told me you know he got into it through level design cuz he worked at ID Y and uh yeah and he he told me about that he said yeah that's be around do anything you can yeah and I learned in in in masters of Doom he was actually a mechanic who worked on their cars and I think they were like yeah come work for us instead and he was like all right all right that's the story that's where you you have to become a mechanic that's where you're going wrong [ __ ] you Lear stuff about computers you need to know stuff about cars yeah I'm a

Fool um have you seen the speaking of cars have you seen the Cyber truck yes you're getting one yeah I've got one pre-ordered have you seen that there's a new attachment for it that they've just pre-sold no that cost $50,000 and they've made like $81 million in pre-orders oh this camper it turns it into a camper van oh wow so it just slides into the back and evidently raises up and you have yourself a cyber camper van sorry this looks [ __ ] hideous yes like what yeah I mean I quite like the design of the Cyber truck I know a lot of people the C TR yes but this looks ridiculous and people have just gone

sure they've got $81 million in pre-orders good Lord that's H for something where the the the truck's not even available yet man that doesn't look good what do you thinking to me cuz you look at it like it ruins the ruin at the Cy truck Cy truck's got like nice angles it's not just straight or it's gotd angles but then you got the camper thing is just straight and right angles it just is completely different so odd now I see how it works I mean it's a good idea yeah it's cool it's just it's not even the same color as the car it looks [ __ ] weird like oh you got a r there is no car yet no I know but like it they've made renders of this right this is they're like I mean

they could have made it any color they wanted they could have made the car pink and then but they've made it a different color to the car I think there's an actual reason for that is is actually to show what you're act what's actually different so what you're actually buying all right so when they have like cyber truck Not Included the Cyber truck is at slightly different color all right to show what you get you with L with his [ __ ] logic again I'm going to put this in the show because we should include this so that list can look at what the hell we're talking about I only just saw this today campire and I just I'll tell you what if I'd be interested in this if it looked better and if they make one that just F

Fair it's so [ __ ] weird how is that just that straight line at the front yeah I don't it doesn't fit in with what the Cyber truck is yeah it doesn't look like it belongs on there no it looks like you're taking that somewhere to drop off right yeah it looks like yeah well it looks like you're headed to the tip to get rid of it the I'm actually just looking at the leak of put in these are terrible renders aren't they that's what I'm saying it's hideous so it's got solar panels on the roof which I like I like that I like I quite like I said the inside of it I'm like okay that's interesting it's very futuristic like the Cyber truck yeah the only problem is uh it's it's God ugly so yeah all right it's very small

too yeah it's cuz yeah this isn't like an Australian Ute which is quite long this is like a truck which has got the shorter tray doesn't it the Cyber truck I think has what we would call a half length I could be wrong about that I'm actually look inside it and you couldn't use this thing to live in people do live in things smaller than this do they yeah not maybe not live in but they go camping in I can understand camping but this to me for in my head camping is you go away for a couple of days an RV is something you take on a road trip yeah absolutely like you're going to be going here staying here you stay like

places for a period of time not just one night TY but this would not be comfortable for that it's too small if I was paying 50 grand for this I'd want to be able to spend some time in it yeah not just like look for 50 Grand in there to take a leak and then for 50 grade buy a caravan yeah well yes absolutely which you can tow with your cyber truck and it'll probably look better yeah so my truck has I think probably a bigger bed than a a a ute what you would call a ute in Australia at least as big and probably bigger than what you would okay yeah yeah but the Cyber truck doesn't look like no I I mean it's hard to tell cuz yeah you can't tell how big it is but I think yeah I think I think it'd be a looking inside this thing 5ot you can't you can't stand in this thing you can go

and sit down and you sit at the kitchen and oven no cybertruck bed length 6 and 1/2 ft so it's okay it's slightly larger than my truck I think cuz I think mine's 6ot dude why does this look so small maybe the Cyber truck is just so big that this just looks tiny maybe yeah anyway I'm not we're not getting one so no very unlikely I don't even know I still I don't even know if I'm getting my cyber truck at this point I don't I just don't know I don't know when they're coming out I don't know if I'm going to I just don't know which it seems weird to be selling attachments for it when you haven't even well I

don't think vehicle on the road is this not Tesla no no this is some some other company so ah yeah oh so they've just printed themselves money for something that may not exist and they can just go well sorry it's not our problem but and your your deposits on refundable mhm and Tesla can be like oh we redesigned the Cyber truck and then they can be like oh see you yeah yeah or or so all sorry about this but it's going to cost you more now if you do want to go ahead with it yeah because they changed where they positioned one screw yeah no longer works but they don't know where the screws are going to be I'm I'm almost certain yeah that's why the renders are so terrible because they're not renders of the actual cyber truck it's just what

they think it looks like yeah it's all photoshopped but they made a lot of money yes speaking of people will buy anything speaking of making a lot of money Disney is making a lot of money and uh they don't want to give any more of it to Scarlet Johansson I guess well they really don't seem want to give it to [Laughter] anyone but yeah so evidently so I didn't know for some reason a film was announced a while ago Tower of Terror yes that's now been cancelled yeah allegedly allegedly because it had Scarlet Johansson as the producer and star of it right and now they don't want to work with her anymore I can sort of understand where Disney might be coming from on this what

it's not it's just business not it's just business you called us out for being [ __ ] and we don't want to work with you she she's not being racist on Twitter so they've cutting ties with her and canceling that movie maybe maybe there was see probably this is all such stupid drama so people were talking about Emma Stone doing the same thing because because of kruella the Cruella release except now they just announced kruella 2 two and she's in it and everyone's like oh I guess either she's not suing or disne or this was a deal that was worked out for you not to sue us yeah maybe exactly that's scet didn't didn't go that route well she thought she already had this next movie in the in the bag so she didn't have to worry about that we've already signed a contract for that so

I'm just going to sue you for this one and everything will the same on this other movie yeah well I mean I don't know it's SC Johansson needs the work from Disney so and this is and this is the thing where I've sort of been going trying to go recently cuz this ties into another article in here so yes she's started contract she was expecting to get paid a hell of a lot more but we're talking about in more money than most people seen in their entire lifetimes not the point then you go back to the Marvel writers who created these characters yes you get like he's a $5,000 check and you can come to the premiere if you want and that's only for the ones if their character is prominent in the movie if they're just a side character they

probably won't get that yeah so list you may have been wondering or you know like these Marvel characters who were created by these wonderful writers and and artists over the years and you probably be thinking they must be making a fortune now cuz their their Creations are you know guy rocketed to to start him whereas before some of these characters were no name you wouldn't have known them from from any other now you know the Winter Soldier for example he's he's now a household name so you must be must be thinking whoever created that character he must be rolling in it no he's not because when you work for Marvel you're doing work for hire so you create a character it's not your character it's Marvel's character which

means it's Disney's character now which means y uh if if they use your character as Luke said you if you're lucky you'll get luck you'll get a check for five grand with a little note that says thanks and a ticket to the premiere and the way that they said this was I mean and it's not it's not explicit that the five grand is to pay for you to get to the premiere and that cuz they're not paying for your accommodation yeah like you work out that part for yourself but if you did want to use the five grand to go you could you could do that so it's kind of like a photo of you while you're there yeah exactly so that's how that works and see and this is where I just f it so wrong you got people who have done all this work and written all these great story

lines that have been used they did get paid at the time I was going to say they got paid and this this is not it's not like they were expecting this so I mean from a certain point of view I mean this needs under no obligation to give them anything no but I just find it bad when like you get someone like skelet h that she's not going to get another 10 million but that's I know I know what you mean but that's I know it just out the point know because because if Scarlet Johansson can get ripped off then everybody can get ripped off that's the the point cuz yeah when it's on the scale of scy Johansson you go that's millions of dollars get over it like you've already got $10 million what do you need another 10 million I'm just

making up numbers but then when it's not Scarlet Johansson and it's Luke alerson who creates [ __ ] man and then Marvel's like here's five grand and then you're like you said in the contract you'd give me a million dollars and they're like five grand is a lot of money Luke what's your problem you don't you don't want the five grand I'll take it no you you don't want the five grand fine fine I do know that but I know just she they're not fighting for that I I understand I completely understand but I just feel like sometimes people especially on the internet they like lose perspective on it's not about lose perspective that sounds condescending but what I mean is it's not about how much money it is it's about the fact they had a contract and they had an

agreement and Disney should be forced to stick to the agreements and this is one of the weird things like well even with like we've seen recently lately where like people have sold their script and then the company gets sold and well no your deal with that company they don't exist anymore so we don't have to give you the author anything else that's [ __ ] this stuff where like agreements in Hollywood mean nothing no sure yeah and I think just as a whole that needs to change across the board from the top to the bottom like it's it's all about making people who really don't do anything money yeah I'm not talking about skylet joans I'm talking about the people who I'm paying for you to make this movie but I want all of this back plus yeah but I guess so I'm

not saying I I'm such a big [ __ ] scar Johansson fan that I think she deserves the other 20 million or whatever I don't give a [ __ ] what I am saying is they had a contract well they have a contract the terms of the contract are up in the air if and the way that you figure that out is you have your lawyers talk about it unfortunately this is a high-profile thing and they're talking about it in public now because it's come out but but I I mean I fully support her right to have her [ __ ] contract checked cuz something weird happened like I don't know I it doesn't really also so disy people who created these story lines maybe Chuck them a 100,000 you've got the money yes but that sets a precedent too you know I'm fine with that

precedent then I'll get 100,000 gral [Laughter] man yeah but no I do think I I was quite I was shocked actually to learn that I mean I guess it it makes sense that when you create because if you work for a company you create something for a company it's the property of the company so um and and you got to remember a lot of at the time when a lot of these writers and stuff would work from arvil wasn't making money at the time well that exactly right there was there wasn't a lot of money to give them at the time yeah so and now it's become a huge thing but then by the same token this isn't money they were expecting to get they're not their life is not altered in any way by not getting it you I don't know get get the check and the

ticket to the movie I think it's it's kick in the G yeah yeah like like this is how much they come see how much money you could have been making if you were doing this now I don't think that's how it's intended though I think it's they mean it as a nice gesture because like they're not obliged to invite them to the premere at all come see your creation on the big screen like you yeah it's is meant as a nice thing but there also you can also see how is kind of bit of insulting I think it depends on your perspective I think it depends on actually the writer yeah well Roy Thomas had to uh I don't know if he had to sue but he certainly had to make a a stink about the fact that his name wasn't on the credits of Loki even though he created the character and again I don't

think I don't think they're obliged to do that cuz they own the character but they did CU they used to do that a lot with like they put like characters credited by Stan Lee so that would have been something in that would yeah but he was the face of Mars well and I think wasn't he like one of the owners or something I think Stanley is a different case to one of these you know inhouse Riders it but that's that should still be something cuz that's still I'm trying to think there's a lot of stuff where you do see that based on characters created by like but the only thing I'm think of styles in Star Trek at the moment yeah but a lot of shows do have that like based on characters created by J grber George Lucas but for example St

Le who created some of the characters in you know say the Clone Wars right like ahsokatano who created ahsokatano oh wait George never mind that's a bad example that's a bad example one of the later ones yeah he did one of well you got to look like a well grand grand Emerald thone he was created by Timothy AR that's right that doesn't count either I'm I'm trying to think of somebody one a character that would have been created by a staff writer on the show is what I'm trying to get to oh Mandalorian oh sure yeah who well that could be that could be favro though not very much well yeah there'd be you you know what to be honest we don't I guess we don't know but like okay Timothy ol's character in [ __ ]

the Mandalorian right who came up with that was it was it fa or somebody or was it just somebody there in the writer room rer room is that is that person going to get the name and the credit see I think that's a bit different that's a bit different to someone Penning a comic book book 50 years ago no but I I think it's the same same it is I think I don't know just be nice to people who give me money that's what this is about this is all this is about is you don't like Sky Johansson getting so much money when you could have got it I'd like some of that money I'm not I'm not denying that maybe 50% I don't know man I don't know I don't think we're going to solve this on this podcast no we won't today no we we

solve any issues no without Dan here no no he needs to be here for this so let's go on to something else we still haven't addressed the question why why he's not here oh so remember a couple of months ago you weren't here because I do remember that yeah I do vely remember that something happened yeah you you went off and had a had a baby yep y Dan thought that looked cool and he's done the same thing Dan impregnated my wife yes oh okay all right yeah no dad's got off to have his own baby that makes more sense yeah he might be back next week but he we don't know yeah they have a have a baby we'll let him fill you in on the details if he chooses to uh but that's where Dan is he's uh he's living living life and probably

trying to get sleep and realizing how much babies poop and throw up and want food yeah this we should do this more often all right cuz we've now tricked people l no no yeah no uh We've tricked people into listening to half the episode like if there was somebody who didn't care about any of the skullet Johansson horse [ __ ] we were just talking about but did want to know where Dan was we got him we got him and now they gone yeah but we got we got half an hour out of them got half an hour which helps boost the ratings mhm that's all we care about in the ratings that's how Luke gets paid he gets paid based on listeners he's not getting paid a lot I can tell you that per listener still waiting for my first check it's in the

mail okay I'll look out for it there a lot of Staff shortages in the the postal system at the moment so okay I'll I'll be patient and wait yeah you watched a movie I did watch a movie speaking of comic books and movies this is a different kind of comic book movie though I watched The Suicide Squad how good is it and also just coming out 2 weeks after it's been released so oh the plot is that true it is I mean it's pretty wi it'll be two and yeah you can if you want to watch it now you can watch anything now all right so I guess yeah we'll talk about story and then so skip ahead if you don't want to hear that there's actually listeners we used to say skip ahead Tim is there's actually chapter markers in the show

now oo we've been adding chapter Market to the show so you should be able to if you don't want to hear us talk about anything in particular uh you you could I won't recommend it but you could because the ratings go down yeah no I don't think it matters you could skip ahead and skip it but then you might miss you might miss something interesting so you do move around a lot The Suicide Squad uh was [ __ ] great and I it's the best DCU movie yeah and I can't believe they let him make this neither can I multiple reasons it's definitely an R-rated movie yeah it's got and that's what he wanted it's got blood and and and Gore and swearing penis it's got a dick in it just for no reason and some boobs and

some boobs and I I feel like he was literally just him kind of bouncing back from the Marvel movies and being like what can I get away with at DC and then yeah so he hands the movie in and then he's like I wonder what they'll say no to there's a dick in there there's people being ripped in half there's like some there's some tits there's like drug use alcohol and they DC were like thanks we love it yep it's great so now you can go back to marel yeah so very different in tone to the others very over the top I loved it the thing I love is like that first sort of 20 minutes where all the B Stars watch the movie all of his friends that he's brought in to put in the movie he kills them all yeah you think you're watching The Suicide Squad and then it turns out

nah that's not them not that team yeah that's a good fake out too because by again spoilers sort of for the beginning of the movie by including Harley in that it kind of sells the the fake out a bit cuz you're like well they're not going to kill Harley no or I know I wasn't expec like I yeah was not like with the characters they were and who playing him I wasn't expecting him to be killed off I know like Nathan filan's been sort of sort of front and center for a lot of the yeah the promos and stuff yes job with that and his character is just useless his arms come off and then he gets h a slap fight yeah hilarious I man laughed out loud so many times what a great movie Peacemaker I

was like Peacemaker looks [ __ ] ridiculous in and then it makes sense as it goes along yeah and then you're like this guy's [ __ ] psychopath I cherish peace and I'll kill every man woman in child I that gets in my way to have it what a great character um there's there's at the very end there's just one line that I was actually quite sad about oh yeah when staro just goes I was happy just floating in space watching the Stars I know you didn't want to hurt anyone well he did but that's cuz we pissed him off yeah but he were just quite happy just yeah being you staro man what a [ __ ] what a [ __ ] movie so over the top I can't believe it there's a [ __ ]

giant starfish destroying a city in the at the end [ __ ] and they didn't do what DC has been known to do like trying to darken tones down no it's brightly colored starfish in the middle of a city just causing Havoc starfish is a slang ter for butthole do we think there's any connection no so good oh man king king shark king shark a great character Sylvester Stallone you can do no wrong no I really enjoyed this I loved the I loved star I I I I knew star was in it because I'd seen James gun post stuff about it but I didn't know cuz I'm not familiar that familiar with the character I didn't know about the little starfish that get on everybody's face and make it look like they have one

eye and I was like this is awesome like oh man highly recommend so happy he got to make this if for some reason you haven't seen it and you're listening to us talk about it for some reason go see it [ __ ] I love that conversation about Milton who the [ __ ] is Milton oh yes Milton there when she calls there was a person [Laughter] [Laughter] [Laughter] from from Marvel right and then he's like [ __ ] it all right this is I'm going back to being me let's make a different movie and then makes this and cuz even I

learned behind the scenes even he was just like cuz I guess he doesn't need he didn't need to make this movie I guess so he was able to kind of just say this is what I want and then say and then they basically DC apparently just told him yep you can do whatever you want and then they said but you got to film it in uh I forget where I think it might have been you have to film it in England because it's cheaper but then tax purposes yeah but then his dad got sick and he said well I'm not going to do it unless I can film it in Atlanta and they were like well that's going to Triple the budget and he was like mhm I'm not going to do it unless I can film it and they were like

fine so like good on him he's just cuz like if you don't want me to I'm okay like I'll just go I'll go chill out until I get another a phone call back from uh Disney yeah I can't believe how well he came out of this whole thing I think that's what should have happened well he shouldn't have been fired in the first place but no no I mean I can again we did we talked about this but I can understand why they fired him cuz they were they got scared it was a n reaction well they were scared of the mob because mhm you know that could really damage Disney if it had if people had been understanding I think I think when when Disney it settled a bit and Disney realized okay this was overblown and people do

understand I think we're okay but but I can see why they were worried oh yeah well the other thing that happened is with the suicide squad just coming out Air's back of course he is A's back going hey remember the first Suicide Squad there's still my cut of that about yeah if anyone wants to see that I've got it over here in my van anybody no L some some uh P of script leaked recently oh yeah and he and so I'm going to guess that he's leaked it because someone's come out and going hey we've seen this is any of this true and he's gone yep it's all true it's all true yeah that's so evidently his Twitter account yeah evidently there was more scenes with the joker which yeah that's what that movie

needed more Joker yeah more Jared letter yeah um evidently Harley Quinn and uh Will Smith yeah they kiss really um someone else still lives yeah it's all this stuff and I I still evidently like he also pointed out a tweet that's got like 400,000 retweets asking for the a so sad yeah I mean I'd be interested from a purely you just because I I like movies and I'd be interested like I I would probably if they released it I would watch it just to watch it like I still don't think it's going to be a good mie same as like Zack Snider's Justice League was still not a good movie yeah I just thought about would I watch the other one again I don't think I would I

don't think I would ever watch that movie again the first one no I'd watched this one again for sure oh this one definitely I I'm looking forward to seeing this one again cuz um I know at the end there was a little in the credits I saw something about um footage from the Toxic Avenger and I'm that too I did not see that in there I saw Lloyd I saw Lloyd but he actually there's a thing about there being stuff from the Toxic Avenger in there and I'm I missed that so I want to watch it again just to even try and find that well I could just go to the Internet that's so just I'm literally just Googling Toxic Avenger uh includes a traa cameo yeah cuz Lloyd's in it yep Sude called Toxic Avenger Easter egg where is it where is

it guys come on just show me yeah what where is it what is it and it must be just on like a television something yeah it's got to be something silly yeah I don't know cuz yeah it def I I swear it said something about like they're being footage from the Toxic Avenger yeah I'm sure it said that unless it's just the fact that Lloyd was in there but that's not really something from the toic Avenger that's just Lloyd G also plays tribute to his former Mentor cman with a blink andic clip from troma's most famous film okay there's a clip in there somewhere oh okay okay oh so like a one scene flashup type of thing yeah maybe it maybe must be maybe this just on the TV in the in the background or

something oh pom Clemen is has a cameo in it too I didn't even know that didn't spot her he's got his brother in there a few times oh of course yeah yeah he well cuz he's got a he's got a that he's the character in the jail but then he's also um weasel and then oh my God I love that weedel character and also at the end when he runs off he runs off and you sort of laugh at the end oh he run off he's off to murder children that's know oh so gross did anyone check if weasel could swim great movie oh so good it's just so I want to see it again yeah just really silly and over the top and who who played rat catcher 2 that I thought she was great she was great she's a Portuguese actress that I

don't know has been in much else uh I read an article that talked about how they tried to find somebody to play her Daniela melor she yeah Portuguese actress she is in let's have a look yeah cuz I I thought she was great in the movie yeah no it doesn't look like she's in a lot of uh she's done TV stuff in in Portugal I guess okay yeah no she's great hopefully see more more of her I guess they um the world is now prepared for overseas accents accents and and actors and actresses yeah you don't have to be a an American Hollywood person to be in a movie anymore it's good soon it be Luke's to shine that's right well that's how they found what's

the name for Borat was just a worldwide audition maybe you could be borat's son in the new if they do another one no I would not be in that movie why not I don't like those movies you don't like them no no I don't like that cringe factor and that no all right that that secret camera and we're going to make people feel awkward no Sasha's going to be disappointed but I'll let him know just let him down gently I will just the way it's got to be I'll let him down gently onto the pillow and and say sorry buddy speaking of people that Disney's not working with anymore Gina Carano is one of those people apparently and she's got some work now so her first project after the

Mandalorian um she's doing a movie called White Knuckle it's like an action movie which makes sense for her it does it's probably not something I'm going to watch not because she's in it just because no just not sure I mean maybe it doesn't Carano plays a strong wheed woman who survived an attempt by an Infamous serial killer trucker named White Knuckle haunted by her encounter and the cop's inability to catch her torment her she partners with a Long Hall trucker to find and end the killer I do like truck game it's not a game Luke it's a movie yeah but if I just think I'm driving the truck or I'm driving playing truck simulator while watching it right maybe I feel included in it would you play a

game where you had to drive a truck with Gina Carano in the cab with you she was just talking about how wearing a mask is dumb and the who knows what's in that vaccine probably should turn down the volume and watch television while I'm driving turn down the volume on Gina Carano yeah all right oh the movie is being produced by the daily wire that makes sense what's the daily wire the daily wire is a conservative Media Company it's I think bench Shapiro's company oh I think he owns it he's certainly one of the figureheads of it it's a it's a rightwing media company okay I mean

whatever I just that that explains it well yeah I I I don't think it's for us the movie not just I just interest I mean I don't know about that this the movie might be fine and like I said I don't I mean ideally if if she's acting in a movie her personal politics have nothing to do with anything so no you know the movie might because they they read what's on the paper they get a script and they read that so let's see but speaking of stuff that you might watch that you might enjoy yes uh being off this week I decided to watch something that Netflix has been pushing at me yes called brand new cherry flavor yes flavor I I have no idea what this movie is about you and Dan are going to love it TV show no the TV show yeah it is great

I don't understand it but I enjoyed it I didn't know about it um Nate listen Nate wrote in and said the same thing you did that I should watch this yeah and uh so watched the trailer and I saw some clips and I will watch it yes I will watch it probably hopefully by next week I'll have watched it it's there's a lot oh is there okay maybe not yeah thanks thanks for giving me an out I didn't realize yeah yeah don't don't lock yourself into a week I was off work last week and I finished it fine I'll have watched some hopefully by next week but it's got Ros Salazar in it who she's great she's great in it yeah she was Alita in battle Angel Alita and she I mean she's been other stuff too but that's what she's most known for yeah like there's eight episodes and they go for about 40

minutes 40 to 50 minutes each all right well it looks cool looks cool as [ __ ] from what I it's it's like set La weird and and the trailer is does not do justice to what's coming really okay okay seems like it's about sort of about filmmakers in Los Angeles and some weird [ __ ] so I mean or maybe it does do it justice but okay so I figured it out then get ready for weird [ __ ] all right good I like weird [ __ ] but yeah at least by next week I want to talk about the first couple episodes at least all right I'll see what I can do I see what I can do a TV series that we can't watch next by next week because it doesn't exist yet but is apparently I don't know if it's actually in production or if Alex price is just saying I've got an idea from Dark City

TV show like American McGee but uh yeah right but yeah yeah please make that from looking at this it does look like it's uh hey this is something I'd like to do yeah do it he's in the very early stages of working on a dark city television series I'm having to reanalyze in order to construct a new story I'm having to go back and kind of jog my memory as to what we actually did and what I think worked and what I didn't work and reevaluate my own film no because I don't know if so dark city if you don't know is a [ __ ] amazing film that came out in the 90s 99 did not do well it did not do well except I mean I I spent a lot of money re-watching it in the theater a bunch of times CU I [ __ ] loved it

um but it's about a guy who wakes up with amnesia uh to find a a murdered girl in a hotel room with him and then he he tries I guess he's trying to figure out what happened and then there's these weird people in trench coats and hats and it's hard to explain and then there's Al they're aliens and then they're on a spaceship so uh it's great spoilers for almost a 30-y old film but I like the idea of they not doing this as like a movie or reboot but just going a television show I think yes you get more about and I think because this did well after M yeah this got life after the movie

This got life on VHS and people rewatching it there and I think yeah doing that television series now as a limited series maybe 8 to 10 episodes I think would really work yeah cuz the director's cut of it too the a new cut of it came out I don't know how long later but it's it's it's really good it add and all it adds in is is good stuff like it just adds a bunch of good [ __ ] that I feel like should have been in the original back in So list if you have not seen the director cut of dark City I highly recommend it and the thing I was going to say is the reason he might have to jog his memory is because we may have talked about this on the show before the ending that's in the show in in the movie is different to the ending that

was in the script until quite late in the process and I I imagine the studio probably had some involvement in changing the ending because there's this whole thing running thread thread running through the movie where cuz you find out it's about aliens and they're in space and they're just experimenting on these people by shuffling their memories around to see what makes them human and like swapping the memories between them and seeing if it changes their behavior and all doing all this experiments but and then you forget that someone's a serial killer like they they like they established this early on in the movie that someone is killing people and then you kind of forget by the end of it that that's that's what these aliens have been trying to do because it

gets it turns into this whole big thing where they're fighting the aliens and and then the original ending of the film he and Jennifer Conelly plays the love interest um and cuz you know you know like I think they they're married but only in the scenario that the aliens have put them in this time like you don't know whether they were actually because they just get assigned roles whenever they reset the system so it's it's it's interesting but anyway at the very end for for reasons uh you you've seen it right Luke I don't remember at all Jesus Christ all right for reasons that the there's sorts a kind of a happy ending at the end where he's he and Jennifer Connelly are standing on a pier and and it's sort of a happy ending and then in the theater if you saw it it kind of

faded out but in the script up until quite late he then stabs her and he was the serial killer because he was the serial killer and then it was I always when I when I read that I was like that would have been [ __ ] great because you've forgotten at by the end of the movie you forgotten that yeah like he woke up with a dead woman in the hotel room at the start of it and you forget that that happened so yeah that's how it should have ended yeah I I think so but I can see why the shudio stepped in and went no yeah I just always thought that was cool though I've got that question about shudos shudos for a very long time have been known to be coming in making notes and making stuff terrible why is it still happening today because they're protecting their

investment movies uh cost a lot of money to make and they don't like taking risks and also I think they maybe sometimes feel like they have to contribute you know there's always that person in a meeting who's like let's change this and then you're like why and it's like because then they well I haven't said anything yet because then they've touched it you know what I mean like they just it's not about it's just they just want to get their fingerprints on the project so I think maybe there's a bit of that okay that's why you need to get people like James G and just let him do what he does yeah and say [ __ ] off you H me to do this let me do it yeah I watched a movie this week for Friday the 13th it's called things seen and heard it's a horror movie on Netflix

it was pretty good I recommend it if you're into kind of psychological Thriller ghosty movies where it's not really explicit you know it's not like The Conjuring it's more of a M slow dread kind of horror movie uh it did fall apart a bit at the end though in my opinion so oh it's it's got the girl fromaed from Veronica Mars oh I was going to go A Million Ways to Die in the West and Ted too I've not seen that not seen that either Veron Lily from baras yeah yeah yeah it's got her it's got uh uh uh [ __ ] what's his

name see this is a strange thing I'm trying to work out so I wouldn't watch this while I'm playing a game because I have to pay so much attention to it because what's a movie that pack a lot in I watch eight hours of a television show F Murray Abraham CW from Mythic Quest he's in this and uh some other people too oh oh Karen Allen Karen Allen's in it Maran from Indiana Jones Raiders of the L Arc ah not Indi yeah anyway yeah it was good I enjoyed it except when it falls apart at the end yeah I mean we could talk about it but you haven't seen it so no I I might try and watch it for next week have you watched the Fe Street Trilogy

no no no no Jenna watch those I'm probably not going to watch them I'll be honest I enjoyed them yeah I I don't have a lot of time it's only three movies I know I know plus the other you have to watch there's other stuff I could be doing like working on music projects or anything I don't know too many hobbies that's my problem mhm see I I narrowed it down yeah Xbox uh-huh yep I was waiting for I was waiting for what came after the comma but there was nothing Xbox I thought it was a comma it was a full stop I I've stopped drinking again oh

good all right so there's no gin all right how long how long has it been since you had a drink uh about 3 hours it's been bit bit a few days okay oh cool I wasn't like I was drinking a lot sure but I was just I was wasn't drinking enough to have any effect but I was drinking so yeah not enough to have any effect but it was costing me a lot of money for it not to have any effect okay sure does that make any sense yeah it seems like well it it depends on why you're drinking right if you're drinking because you enjoy you just enjoy the taste of it cuz I sometimes I sometimes think it would on the one hand it would be nice if I could have a drink and it wouldn't affect me

because I do I I sometimes I just enjoy having a glass of scotch or or or wine or whatever but I don't want to be in inebriated in any any way I still want my faculties so I sometimes I think it would be nice for that but then on the other hand be like yeah but then I'd be paying 40 bucks look Plus for a bottle or something yeah exactly no no I just I don't like being drunk I just like getting to that sort of just before Tipsy sure yeah no no I get that I wasn't I'd have to drink more to get to there and I didn't want to drink more sure because go out to the store and get another bottle no no you bring it to me now it's fine oh yeah yeah me too oh yeah we talk about this you're so you're locked in your house h no I'm not oh all right then I'm a sensual worker sensual worker

a central worker so I still get to go to work I get to go to the office still all right fine are you allowed to go to oh yeah all right fine then we are we in we are in lockdown but we're in sure sounds like it it's a lockdown where you can still go to the shops to pick up food get takeway but you can't stay somewhere all right no no laer like except uh Melbourne they a few pubs got together and tried to put on a pub crawl oh God so it was like hey come here all these pubs are going to have drinks for this price you can they set up on Facebook so it was a yeah you buy your drinks and cuz you can only get takeway so you didn't buy a drink and then you you walk to the next place then you walk to the next place and it's

so like they got like over a thousand people and it's like you're an idiots why are you doing this there people they trying to think of fun ways to get around the lockdown not we're just walking yeah which all walking together yeah people did that kind of stuff here too it's just just h like do you not understand the purpose of it it's not just it's not just to annoy you like no one cares about you no it's not I mean we they do but not not and not not annoying you it's just it's just to stop everyone from getting sick and dying for God's sake just [ __ ] do it I think people Al are saying like people go well why don't you just let the people who just want to take the risk go out and do it because if everyone that wants to take the risk go out and do that our

health system will not be able to cope with the influx of patients more people will die and you're putting people who don't have a choice at risk there are people the problem here in the US is people are like what does it matter if I don't get the vaccine right because someone with a [ __ ] autoimmune issue can't get the vacine and you're walking around like a [ __ ] like like just just going H whatever it's just frustrating I'm sure our listeners are aware of our position on this stuff yes wear a mask get the vaccine give Luke money yeah watch the suicide don't go see it anyway just watch it at home oh you thing I like about James gun is this week he said movies don't fail or succeed based on the cinema alone they succeed because of Television where

people rewatch them and I was like he gets it well it's exactly what we just said about dark city correct where ter or even Blade Runner yes yeah more Blade Runner thanks that's not going to happen it's not going to happen like that was well when they went back to the movie that looked did terrible again so glad we got played run 2049 I know we're not getting any more but I'm glad we got that and then you're going to get Dune yep yep get another no they said this week they announced this week that zenai is probably going to be the main F main character well main focus in um in the second movie have they started filming yet I really think they should start filming before I saw the article and I was like good I'm glad that they're talking about the second movie because I

feel like not enough people know that there's supposed to be a second one want let's get that out there right so that people are aware the word out yeah get the word out right do we need the second half of the [ __ ] book made please let's get that done all right go see this one start filming now so you're so far along that they can't back out you spent too much money get the film in the can before this one comes out cuz Luke is not predicting success I've got to be honest with you Denny you've got to get this [ __ ] movie shot it's not going to do well at the movies I'm I'm almost certain his name is not pronounced Denny like I just said it but that's what it is but let's just go with that it's it's not it is it's going to do better on streaming and rewatchers
