I a little late this morning but it's not my fault as always is it the flat Earth's fault kind of was a flat Earth's fault go on I woke up and there's a live debate happening right now and I sort of started watching that and yeah it's God it's it's this film was fun it's is the debates between flat earthers and non-f flat earthers just the non-f flat earthers going prove it and the Flat Earth is not being able to prove it cuz that's what I imagine the debate would be yeah it's pretty much the flat earther rebuttal to any argument or point is nah welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All

Things nerdy look I think it's time that you just become smug in the fact that you are correct and they are incorrect and then just move on just move on from this it's fun watching these debates is it and and and this one they like this one was very rare they agreed to an actual format so like this is going to be round three we're going to talk about um the the the the subject was meant to be he was going to disprove space exploration okay and his EV evidence straight away was this is why I'm skeptical about space exploration it's sort of like they're going straight away moderator no that's not what we agreed to and everyone's going yeah no you agreed to you got to proove it yeah not show why you're skeptical mhm right and

yeah just turn yeah F right so Luke you famously don't like awkward situations you know like you don't watch Jackass you don't like oh yeah like Impractical Jokers that that show just gives me so much anxiety surely surely watching a flat earther flounder up on stage like a fish on a deck is the same kind of vibe as you know one of borat's victims just sitting there not knowing what to say well no they're doing that to themselves it's the reason I don't like the bull rat and stuff like that is they're doing it to as you just said victims Vic and that's what I don't like they're creating this awkward situation just for the

ls yeah and then the problem is you then get the YouTube other YouTube channels that try and copy it that go too far mhm well not even too far some of them are just not funny there was one that I stumbled across cuz I I don't mind a bit of that kind of humor if it's done really well but uh some of them you're just watching like you just you're just embarrassing yourself man mhm well you just you're just damaging other people's property that's not funny yes he just wrecked stuff yeah yeah and so that I don't like that mhm that's fair I'm with you on that so who won the debate well it's ongoing at the moment but as always ongoing they at the end they're like well agree to disagree well no the the flat earther will try that

every now and again but the people going go well no cuz then we would both be wrong right are you are you familiar with that theory of the round earth that that if you walk towards the edge the incline becomes St so steep that gravity changes and you can never quite get to the end as well I I I did watch One Flat Earth theory that tried to use mathematics to prove why you wouldn't just fall off the edge that must be very very old cuz none of them really believe in an edge anymore I'm sure fine hang on infinite or a big wall um it's either big wall or infinite how does it it's one of those mean it doesn't have an edge if it has a wall there well well they don't know house goes on forever because you got I mean there's a wall here so that goes

on who knows what's on the other side of that Wallside there's a wall no outside yeah no cuz Mark Z danieli wrote a great book about that called the house of leaves about a guy who buys a house with no internal boundaries check it out it's about Kevin spacy it's a SLO but it's worth it I'm not reading a book No Boundaries I was in the chip aisle of the supermarket the other day and I realized that cc's are still using their slogan you can't say no and I feel it's out of date they're using Franklin jelous [Laughter] slogan I'm a big man try and pull me off I'm a big chip try not to eat me you don't eat me I'm going to eat you your choice apart from Flat

Earth videos which you know I how much I love I've been watching um the new Star Trek strange new worlds oh okay I'm ke to hear because this seems like it was made specifically for you it is great it is gone back so it's even though it's a spin-off from Discovery it doesn't have that Discovery feel I don't think and it has very much gone back to here's an episode here's something that happens and here's how we resolve it in that episode so they've kept the the best bits from Discovery I.E the cast the cast yeah and yeah no I'm I'm enjoying I'm liking back like you do have that story that's sort of overarching which is there but it's not uh it's not the primary focus of the show so it's very much a he's something that happens and

he's just resolving it I'm glad to hear that it's great again is it like Mandalorian in that sense where there is an overarching storyline but each episode is clearly one Adventure or is it even more like the old 60s show it's even it's even more like the old great I mean I'll check it out at one point so I should so I might like it is what you're saying did you watch season two of Picard yet I've not watched it and no I didn't watch it I did I enjoyed it yeah okay I but I also like very much like Alison Pill so okay you watch you watch dear Wendy yet you watch dear Wendy no okay early film with her in it very worth watching especially if you like Allison pill especially if you like her breasts well she already tweeted them to the world so it's fine did she

yeah she was me to tweet her boyfriend and accidentally tweeted the picture to Twitter but I mean that's usually where tweets go is it so it doesn't matter who you tweet them at everyone can see well she she she'll to do a DM oh but then accidentally well she doesn't have a boyfriend's phone number like yeah oh it's not secure SMS isn't secure you want what you want to do is put them on Twitter just Twitter it's always Twitter yeah um we should watch shows second Seasons if we like them because if we don't watch them straight away they'll get cancelled case in point rais by Wolves I I noticed I tried to watch Race by wolv season 2 a few times and I just wasn't in the mood for it I haven't been in the mood for it which is why I

haven't started because I know I'm going to have to really invest and I I I can sort of understand why like if you have to really force yourself to be the mood to sit down and watch a show but I know it's going to be good and I want to watch it I just didn't want to have to watch it straight away because I've got 10 seasons of the xfiles to get through you know what I mean like yeah but they're not going to make any more seasons of that yeah it's like they want everybody to binge everything immediately yeah but that's the thing like they don't know what I'm up to currently like well they do they know that you're not I'm not they know what I'm not doing yeah but I'll get to it they called rley SC and they said they said rley Dan's not watched it yet I've

made thousands of shows for Dan and he's watched them all so I don't know if he he mustn't like this but have you has he died perhaps he's died that's the only explanation I can think of but I feel bad now because you do have to you do have to vote with your wallet now that that's the only currency we have for having things I mean it's the same as you know like I crapped on and on about the Amiga 500 mini a few weeks ago but before it came out about how badly I wanted it I still haven't bought it and it's going to go away and no other Amiga stuff will come out because even die hard fans like me didn't buy it you know you've you've got to make a statement yeah no look I agree with you but this is a HBO show right so where were you going to watch this um we

have on Ben Ben yeah we can watch this legally we don't have to go to whatever country we're substituting now okay that's going to say cuz cuz even if you yeah you just obtain it may not even I don't know if HBO tallies up the numbers from their satellite channels in other markets either so it might not have made a difference but look I'm going to go in you never know what side of an argu and lose going to come down on I know if you couldn't be bothered to sit down and watch it within 4 months has it been four months has it okay all right fair enough that is quite a long time I I suppose if nobody watched it for four months they'd be sitting around going I don't think anyone's going to watch this guys Netflix will do it after like 2 weeks

yeah yeah like they're very quick of no this isn't getting Trac we want they did wait like this first episode came out third of third of February they canel beginning of June that's 4 months that's they waited quarter of a year and got numbers and this time they're probably looking at it going cuz there was a big gap between season 1 and two and that probably was because of the spicy cough they probably would have been looking to film season 3 a lot faster and they can get the data a lot quicker and if the data's not there if no one's watching well these are not cheap episodes to make I do like though that now you don't just have to wait one year and get another season sometimes you have to wait several years you know it's like Westworld there'll be more

when no one knows yeah when we're ready yeah well speaking of getting more I learned apparently this is not the last season of stranger things which I thought it was yeah well even including the movies that's still to come that five coming in there a season five coming potentially in a few years because now at this point it's quite difficult to get everybody involved together as you know they've got to wait until 11's hair grows back yet again yeah no it's a wig the short hairs a wig is it the short hair is a wig and Finn wolfart is not in every movie with a person his age in it which he rapidly outgrowing that I think he certainly is which I'm glad to because I like him but he's he's the least like out of those

kids so yes yeah I got a shock when I saw that cuz I I really thought this was the final one hold on are you giving me spoilers here do you you guys know this from the show or you know this from from media my understanding was right so so I know so to be clear Dan you've seen half of episode seven right yeah and then so you don't know everything and then there's two episodes two very long episodes still coming inve like another 4 hours to go next two episodes I think I've got another four hours to go just with this episode seven I thought the idea was that this was just going to wrap everything up and it seemed like and I'm sure you would have seen some of this stuff already it just it seemed like that's what they were doing it felt like it was heading towards an end yeah

cuz they were tying up some loose ends or or or they they thought they were at least the you know they think they're tying things up maybe we're going to find out they're not they felt like it as well like with the whole breaking up with the last two episodes I thought they're doing that as a like we don't want to spoil the big ending for spoiler everyone so we're going to give a month for everyone to watch the first seven episodes and then everyone's got time to watch the last two without worrying about spoilers I thought that's what they were doing as a neat way to tie it all up but no but I think they are I have heard rumor that they're doing a time Jump are going to go into the future finally well maybe that's why they're waiting they're literally

waiting until those kids are old enough to play themselves slightly [Laughter] older playing season 2 was '90s some of them I mean I know they're doing their best but I mean like will just does not that haircut looks just [ __ ] ridiculous on him now yeah yeah yeah exactly he's just too old looking to little baby boy haircut yeah exactly every time I look at him I'm like what are you doing well it's the same with with Finn as well it's like that mop cut that he's got it's like he would have changed that otter looking though like will just looks like like a handsome young man now with a [ __ ] weird haircut getting very handsome yeah I kind of wished that before they really jumped back into like the story that they had have just hung

around the 80s a little bit more sure well it's ' 86 right so I mean they still got half the ' 80s to go if they wanted to yeah but but like it started off like the roll When the Roll rink and all of this stuff and then it went back into the story and sort of you lost it could be set at any time period really there's no no because it's got stuff like I think one of the strengths of this season for me as I've seen some negative feedback on it people saying it's too dark but like I'm enjoying it but that's I mean that's not surprising I like this where people maybe don't but it's got a lot of 80s stuff in it I still I think like the satanic panic and you know for those I just spent more before it just started went dark I would have liked a bit more

of uh catching up the characters sure I think do you know I literally seen one of my first car the 77 Corolla that you guys probably saw at some point before my brother wrapped it ran a telegraph poll there was one in the show oh wow and I was like that's literally my car and it made me want one but yeah yeah did you see the omiga did you see the omiga I saw the I it just keep yeah things pop up and I go 1000 and as somebody who had a friend who was not allowed to read anything fantasy because it was all evil and who had friends D and D books confiscated at school it's all very you know it's touching on a lot of nostalgia in that respect oh yeah yeah absolutely yeah cuz I do remember like when I was young D and D like being reported it as a bad thing I do remember

that when I got old enough to probably understand it wasn't anymore well that and having you know Paradise Lost that's that's is exactly what comes to mind for me is Paradise Lost especially with um our favorite character Yeah Eddie mhm I I he's not my favorite character I'm sorry who's your favorite character out of the new ones I prefer to Stoner guy oh he's good too yeah he is good mind you they did they did use up all of Eddie's good moments in that first episode he doesn't have a lot to do beyond that first episode I thought he was going to be a real player yeah yeah yeah he was just kind of hiding yeah yeah hopefully they'll give him something more to do I saw the funniest review cuz I was looking you

know people had positive things to say one of the negative reviews one star and it said something like like um they say nany's the most desirable girl in Hawkins but she looks like a bony ugly skeleton one star what's that got to do with how good the show is all right I was enjoying it until they said Nancy was hot I also I also get the feeling that they're trying to make me think she's more attractive than she actually is yeah well but but that's one of the other things that I find interesting about this so um what's uh [ __ ] I can never remember any characters names um the guy with the cool hair Steve Steve Steve takes his shirt off in the last episode right and I was now don't get me wrong if I had that body I would never wear a

shirt again because that would be the best shape I've ever been in my life but for a person on television it is horribly disappointing and I was like oh God like where where his muscles he looks normal like he just looked like a regular guy who eats well in exercises yeah yeah in the ' 80s when we didn't have and to be clear not normal me I am not that's not what I look like I'm sure that's not what you all look like either he looks in great shape I quite like that seed but not TV great shape I might have it one point in the ' 80s but it's oh in the ' 80s I certainly looked like that I quite like that scene especially when they're talking about how hairy he is how hairy is is and how why that's disgusting and then she grabs just and Max grabs talking no nothing one of my

favorite moments in it is when he's him and Dustin are arguing and he's like I will slap you so hard your teeth will fall back out and Dustin's like whoa whoa too far man whoa I love their Rel their relationship is the best relationship in the entire show their little Bromance that's grown and I loved it I think it was the second season where he rocks up with his haircut oh I don't remember that I should yeah there was one time with d Dustin just has hair I'm going back after this and watching from the start again I don't I actually I I want to go back but I don't want to go back to season one I want to go back from season two and three why you want to start at the shittest season I I don't I for some reason I

don't want to go back one and four the best orig I want to go back to where Steve started being cool yeah cuz he was the bully in season one right yeah really okay after well he wasn't I don't he wasn't bad bad like he wasn't terrible but he nicest he wasn't the person we have today he wasn't bad at the bone yeah he wasn't bad but he he was out there just trying to get laid Yeah he still is mate and he is getting laid apparently he's getting laid a lot but the well we've been told he is by him I mean to be fair that's usually in high school that that was how we knew if our friends were getting laid as whether or not they told us they were that's that's all we had to go on and you just took their word just good characters all

of them I can't I'm trying to think who's the weak I mean Will's always been a weak character um but do you have a feeling that they've gathered the three weakest characters yeah and put them in their own B plot that's true way out in the desert yeah that's fair I find that very blatant that the characters that haven't quite lasted and even some new characters that have kind of taken their place a little bit are now in that in the Scooby gang and they've just got their own little mission to be on could it actually just be just the fact of when they could people were available to films and that sort of decided cuz what else what else is that big brother doing nothing oh yeah he's I don't his character they wanted NY to get back with Steve so they wrote him out

Jonathan his character has really gone downhill since last season like he seemed like he was but that's part of it too now he's just a stone a loser yeah but I don't know I don't quite understand that but you remember school when suddenly like certain friends of ours just became Stoner losers and we're like dude you used to be really cool now all you want to do is smoke pot I was too busy getting drunk is that a regular Mountain Jew or is that one of the high energy Mountain je uh there is only high energy Mountain Jew there is only yeah in Australia there's only energized Mountain Jew which has more caffeine than Coke okay there's not much caffeine and cocaine at all I haven't drank a

Mountain Dew since the kind of the era we've been been discussing for stranger things I drink about four to five a day I really need to cut down I can't remember the last time I had one it's been a while I bought some sugar-free Brown cream soda the other day and I am loving the [ __ ] out of that really sugarfree anything sugar-free that I see just sits there I I'm laughing but I drink uh what are they called um spin drifts which is don't know what that is well I drink uh I don't have a can here um like um you know like flavored fizzy water seltz of water or whatever you I don't know what you guys call that there anymore cuz I'm I'm an American so I don't remember what things from Australia anymore um but Spindrift is like is like that with with

some fruit juice in it it's it's got like it's like five calories a can cuz it's actually got some juice actual fruit juice in it which it tastes infinitely better with just that tiny bit of actual juice in it so mhm with that some of that natural sugar yes so I drink those you could probably a day give those a try no one one a day at most you can give those a try Luke I like Mountain sh though I just drink coffee until a certain point of the day and then I switch to beer yeah I shouldn't switch to beer no probably not from Mountain Dew no don't do five beers spread out through the day we we've all done it but it's it's not especially cuz I have not drinking oh wow I got to cut down I got to cut down this is I got out of control with co

wait hold on I've heard this before not drinking or not Luke drinking both not drinking wow that's good I think what the last drink I had would have been like 2 3 weeks ago really that's why you've been considerably less fun than and it's just because yeah I'm I I I'm not drinking at home anymore and I don't go out yeah I'm I'm not giving up drink I sneak out to the shed and drink there yeah but it's been cold so like a real man my age does you know who loves stranger things season 4 is Kate Bush yes yeah she's had a Resurgence hasn't she mate the it was it's the first time this song has gone

to number one in the charts now I love this song I always have it because so why not anymore though I [ __ ] heard it enough I'm worried now that I'm I'm going to have to stop liking it because don't get on Tik Tok mat don't get on Tik Tok I sort of found it a little bit strange though cuz it's I it's not that much in the show what do you mean it's it's in the show but it's not like every two seconds you're hear it no but it's a big plot point so I think people latch on yeah but don't forget this show is so Gen X but it's targeted strictly at the Gen Zs who don't who had never heard the song before you know these are the people who went what's the significance of the Red Room when they were in a dark room last season you know they they have never

they've probably never seeny Walkman before to the Red Room idiots and then well and people were saying oh it's a cover of that Placebo song yeah [ __ ] annoyed me oh the original was better oh was it tell me more about the original version of that song yeah yeah now I I'm a big fan of placebo I love that version too but uh yeah just I just thought it was fun and then well it's like the the hurt the you know the Johnny Cash song hurt that because it's Johnny Cash everyone's like no obviously Johnny Cash didn't cover N Nails that would be ridiculous like no he he [ __ ] did he he did yeah that's right even said I think that song's found its home he released four albums produced by Mark Ronson and the the aim was covering songs you wouldn't normally think Johnny Cash

would cover right but other kind of Outlaw figures I do agree it's pretty good but it's not better I think it's good but one thing though uh the South Sydney Instagram ruins episode 4 for me why what episode 4 it's where in the graveyard the graveyard and she hears the song for the first time oh oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so South Sydney Instagram had that no on their Instagram showing it and the mute song that she's listening to is Glory Glory to tell Sydney I'm s for I know what's going to happen now don't I that's a bummer ah but the good thing is I don't care about spoilers yeah that's fair before we move on from that episode specifically I want to say that that episode was the greatest 1 hour of

Television I've ever seen it was it was excellent yeah from the shootout the shootout in the California House not one single T oh yeah that that FBI guy was amazing I know and I love that he's just like unreal that like that actor must have just gone home that night and gone honey I think I'm going to be an action [Laughter] star yeah good stuff that episode had that sequence it had Hoppers escape from the Siberian goulag oh yeah and it had Max's escape from the up and down up and down from the upside down world at the end the rolly byly World um did they do a lot of one shots in the past Seasons cuz I know they've done it a few few times in this one they're doing it well

not that I remember not that I remember all I remember though is thinking that um Matt was completely unimpressed by season uh so episode 4 of uh season one of True Detective where they did their one take action shot um that everyone raved about and Matt was like no no no that was that was the drug bust episode right yeah yeah yeah see that my issues were not with the shot it was with the totally because it was totally out of character and completely from a different why is this guy now suddenly undercover [ __ ] Action Hero in this detective show any but well I could ask you the same about this [ __ ] fat cop Matt yeah he was awesome but you're love that I like they like oh you going to get this back and his they said his friend was like oh do I get a good scene

and they're like yeah something's going to happen to you mate you you're in the scene you're in the scene you you'll be shoved in a locker yeah yeah yeah um you've seen the first half of episode s right seen probably 40 minutes I love that that one shot they do when they're sort of saving Steve when they're sort of fighting off that I thought that I actually even mentioned to Hannah how great I thought that shot was and then also how funny it would have been to film cuz it just would have been guys crouching in green bodysuits moving stuff e yeah yeah and I was worried that I wasn't going to like that because the the upside the up and down the rly poly world was um mysterious because you didn't see too much of it you know what I mean especially in season one I

thought that was done really well where you knew will was in there but you didn't know too much about about it yeah it was sort of ambiguous how it all worked that's right and I answer a question that I've had for a long time in this episode so I quite like that I can't really say it cuz you haven't seen it yet up to that point I don't think can you even say what the can you say what the question is um it's it's like I've always like how did how did the world sort of get how's it there like when when people building a house does the house like magically start to build like that know I think to me there's an answer to why I know you mean I don't want to say it either but I think I understand watch it after this yeah and it's actually how

that work and there's an interesting aspect to that that they have yet to answer that I'm curious about okay so it it's it's starting and especially you know they're looking for the second opening and all of that it reminds me a little bit of dark the German oh yeahi I've got to watch more of that I've only seen the first season because it was they'll cancel it watch [ __ ] off and then they did cancel it's finished I started to watch season two with Jenna and we were like I don't remember anything and this you need to remember otherwise I'm [ __ ] like this so there's the third season and it lost me like first season I was like this is mysterious and I love that I don't know what's going on second season was like I

definitely don't know what's going on but I think I still like it was just like I am [ __ ] confused yeah he's his own father what oh yeah stuff like that yeah like the uh the example of that that I liked from a show that kind of divided people was then lost when John Lock gives himself the watch I loved that yeah because it's like where' the watch come from he gave it to himself yeah but where didd he get it from he got it for himself and he just and if if time is a circle then that makes perfect sense yeah I thought that was cool yeah and yeah it's like that like that but made a whole show that was just that and then and then you had to keep

track of all the watches it's a great movie from the 80s that stars Christopher reev as one of his rare non-s Superman roles called Somewhere in Time which is actually more of a romance than anything else so you have to kind of cop that but it's one of the best time travel movies ever made and it has one of those moments as well where in fact it is a watch it's a gold pocket watch um and there is no start to its timeline that's interesting all right worth watching but just remember it's mostly a romance but it's set in this very very cool time travel scenario remember there was a that was that movie the guy PS one the time time the time machine and I was really enjoying that movie when it was him trying to save his wife but

realizing that he couldn't and and that whole sequence and then it got boring I really wish yeah because then it just became a CGI action movie yeah and I thought that yeah that concept of him he was traveling back but he was just for some reason he was just never able to save her like it was inevitable she was going to die I was like that's FAS F yeah and then they just moved past yeah you're right first half of that movie was [ __ ] great yeah and it's a shame because the book has never quite been made into a fully good movie because the 60s version of that film is very enjoyable too but also missed the point of the book like the point of the book is that in the future humans have evolved into two different paths one that completely aggressive and warlike and one that are

completely at peace but are completely unprepared for any kind of for food yeah and it's and it's like that dichotomy of like which is better to be like docile and peaceful or just like aggressive and violent and delicious or but the movies just was like okay it's [ __ ] Avatar now he fights on these guys side he has to beat the baddies yeah he's forgotten about his wife good yeah that's right forget her um so when I finally finish stranger things later today um I might switch back to Obi-Wan unless you guys have any reason why I shouldn't did did you not watch episode SN yet sorry four did I say snore I me I I accidentally misspoke because I fell asleep watching it right

sure mhm I didn't mind it yeah um so what was wrong with it just uh it just wasn't very interesting I mean there I mean I don't want to go into specifics because you haven't watched it but there I think it was a bit of a filler episode which they shouldn't be doing on such a short run yeah got a lot of stuff in it where I I go okay I mean all right he's just he's just going to hide her under his robe is he all right yeah oh that's not allow not allow but that's just an example where it's just like things where it's just like you got to go with it otherwise you're going to get annoyed just a little lazy yeah yeah like the whole the whole episode it was just felt like little things that were like okay all right lazy is a great word to

describe the the way Star Wars is going and I don't include the Mandalore in this but I certainly include Boba Fett it's just a lot of laziness oh did you see that clip of um of uh what's his name tamura Morrison at the Star Wars celebration on stage talking about how he came up with all the memes like a banther wasn't even in the script he just said it and everyone was like that's going to be a meme and then he was like go running around going like a banther like a banther and the crowd were eating it up and I was like Star Wars isn't for me anymore wow we are not on the same page are we man I rewatched uh on YouTube as part of something else that chase sequence with the mods from oh yeah that that very slow chase scene where you just walk up

and capture him yeah and like just terrible physics on the CGI scooters and it's it's embarrassingly bad but it reminds me of the the chase in the first episode of Obi-Wan was kind of like that too where it's it's just like oh that's weird and like then they chase yeah I don't understand they've got money and then you look at stranger things look at look at the [ __ ] stranger things is like a film like it's beautiful like Disney hasn't got the money to just do it good mate stranger things is better than any film I've ever [ __ ] seen I think Andor is going to come out later this year and I think that one's probably going to be something that's going to be better because they're not trying to shove Nostalgia down a a throat this time it's a new story it's sort of a new

character I'm going to say that clip and I'm going to replay that after whatever you have to say about it when you actually see it and I hope you're right Luke I I pray to Lord Vader that you're all right but Kathleen Kennedy's come out and said look they're not going to recast any original characters they're all going to go new and I hope they sort of stick with that I'm okay with like having sort of like with Rogue one they did have that sort of Darth Vader in it but he wasn't driving the story the story wasn't about him I'm hoping that or even grou it's like it's a link to other [Music] like when you you park you just they hover there I love it that you have to

specify the terrain I'm going to start calling my car a land car they not Speeders Sky Speeders water Speeders yeah I know I did the same thing with I'm going to call everything I own Earth and then what it's called so that when we eventually go to space I can start calling it my like space I'm drinking my space milk I I understand actually snow Speeders but aren't they called snow Speeders or have I just gotten that from no Empire we' always called it that we're always cold but they never refer to snow Speeders they just said we're having trouble adapting the Speeders to the cold cold that's just what I call them in my head which is fair well they're not Hing in defense there are like there are Storm Troopers that are snow troopers yes like so it's not really farfetched

to think wait so Storm Troopers are meant to be out in storms well it's no but remember the the the snow troopers do have that different uniform so they do you think they're like they get they flying with the starter sto and they're like what kind of planet is this all right you guys are up well that would back in your quarters snow strippers actually crazy that would actually make sense because they training them for different yeah all right at the very least that they would wear different tactical armor and in fact I watched a great YouTube video about how costume changes in the original trilogy were very important for not only character growth but also terrain every single terrain whether it was like basically Luke's peasant farmer

outfit would have been ridiculous in the snow of Hoth and it would have been ridiculous in the jungles of Endor right he gets a different outfit for each new place he goes to Ray wears the same clothes through all three films sure Finn wears the same clothes through all three films yeah the Stormtroopers we the same stuff there some stuff George luas was good on and some he wasn't I saw a clip this week I saw a few Clips I don't know why YouTube sh me George Lucas Clips cuz well cuz Obi One I bet it's just stuff flitting to the surface but it was a clip of um him talking about why people don't like jar after episode one and he said can tell him what he says is there's a there's fans who are now adults who watch it as kids and they don't want these movies to

be for kids they don't want them to be funny at all they don't want any comedy in them and the problem with jaer is that he's too funny and I was like George that's not the problem that is not it and I wonder if he's watch I was in hysterics and I was like I hate this look at Guardians of the Galaxy you're mistaken right the problem isn't that he's funny the problem is that he's not funny but he's but he want problem is he's trying very hard to be funny yes I still remember George Lucas's words after the first viewing of sort of the final edit I may have gone too far in some places no no the the one I'm think off is the one goes where he just goes well it's long it is it and I think episode

one um I think the reason why we don't like them and I think the reason why they weren't that good is because George this was at a time where no one could say no to George sure and they cuz remember that was his first script that was his first attempt at the script went Yep this is it we're filming this oh I don't blame George I blame Rick McCullum the producer of those three films whose job it is to make sure films are good not just to tickle George's balls and say you're a good little filmmaker there's also a clip it was it was from when you know when he I think it's 94 when he goes into to write the the the prequels and he's got his on his yellow not his Paz pencil and his how to write a screenplay books on the shelf behind

him and actually read a where watching old he's watching an old Buster ke train video It's called The General and then like they're doing all these stunts and stuff and he's just like how how made me laugh he's like for American Graffiti he in the behind the scenes thing George Lucas is actually talking about how he had eventually had to write the script for American Graffiti orally got someone else to do it but then he didn't like it so he went but he does say like I don't like runting screen screenplays like he doesn't like that and like good because you're not good at it yeah yeah there's an interview with Francis copela on the THX DVD where cuz started American zor Trope and got Lucas and Brian De Palmer and Spielberg and uh Martin cesi and it was going to just

basically keep funding their little projects in this little creative incubator until um they made THX 1138 and it lost so much money that the company went bankrupt and it never happened but um uh George wanted to make Apocalypse Now and he was going to direct that I thought that was supposed to happen yeah it was but then Francis convinced him no no no go away and write a Sci-Fi script cuz that's that's your thing and he's like but I'm not a writer I'm a terrible writer um and he was like no no no no you'll be fine and um in many ways he is a terrible writer yeah and look I I think honestly he just got lucky he written like a he'd only written like three scripts before he went back to write episode one I believe it was TX American graffti and Star Wars

A New Hope H oh he didn't write anything else did he other people to write no what he what he was very good at in the 80s was funding films by other great talents like when he produced Raiders of the was great at he was great at sort of moving the industry forward like his pushing industrial Light and Magic to get the special effects the way they were like was amazing and that's originally that's why stars did so great to begin with never seen something like that before you know what I was thinking the other day too is you know Empire Strikes Back um Anin kersner return the Jedi Richard Mar no one would have picked those guys maybe that's the problem no is that that now they're just giving them to people who are like Fanboys maybe that's the problem like don't do that AB to

somebody who you would think has no bus kersner was the senior professor at um uh USC film school he was George Lucas Professor who taught him about film making and taught him about all those films that he was influenced by for Star Wars and he was like that's the obvious choice I'll get that guy but yeah he probably had to fight the studio for and not a Sci-Fi and and sci-fi fan all I wonder too because we've talked about JJ Abrams has a lot of 80s nostalgia in his stuff like all you know like and70s and 80s Nostalgia and he he loves all that stuff and he puts it in there and that's what a lot of these movies are is like you said before Luke just parading familiar things in front of us so that we'll cheer M and like maybe that's the problem is that

all of these guys are going to do that because they love that [ __ ] too like if we were I mean if I was making a Star Wars movie I'd probably put a bunch of [ __ ] that I liked from The Originals in there when someone who's like I don't really know what Star Wars is yeah your 1979 Cora would be right in there exactly flying through the Death Star trench yeah yeah powered by an Amiga I don't I think I could do a good job okay all right and not just have it like he's no I agree I agree but how would you how would you tow that line Luke between uh Nostalgia for the sake of it and kind of keeping those familiar elements of the story to remember my idea for a show which I think would do great is that uh Rogue Squadron to make that and it's just you're following the life of a a a

squadron of x-wings mhm so you still got the x-wings are fighting TI fighter got the St you still got all those things you're familiar with but it's new characters new stories and yeah show Starbuck yeah yeah skipping all that part they finally find Earth but yeah and not everyone not yeah and people get killed and yeah that's that's my idea and that's why I was sort of excited when to make a one movie but it's a television show that's what they yeah and it was directed by Patty Jenkins and she made a roller skating video as a promo for it and now I think it's gone yeah I think they disappear sort of promo for it for Rouge one that's what I'm thinking of right Matt you saw that right yeah yeah yeah yeah I remember she

did a fighter jet one right for for for rogue one or whatever it was called not Rogue one Rogue Squadron right yeah yeah yeah know I'm I'll I thought there was roller I thought there was two she def uh I don't know maybe that was a Wonder Woman thing um but I do think that they've just kind of shut up about that I don't think that's happening anymore here's my question to you then Matt because how what would you say if you found out that the Duffer brothers were going to do on New Star Wars well take away TI is doing the next one which I think could be good with The Duffer Brothers he loves the80s see I don't know because they are doing a good job but they are also doing that thing where they're putting

things I like in front of me cuz because it you know sets off whatever in my brain the the pleasure centers of my brain like oh I remember that from when I was when I was a we lad analog pleasure centers from when we were kids so they might just end up doing more of that stuff and then the the thing with stranger things is it does it's not a thing that existed so they can do whatever they want it's not going to piss anybody off whereas with Star Wars they probably wouldn't have that you know like I think that's the the problem with Star Wars now is that everybody liked different things about it and now there's too much of it and it can't all be the things that individual people liked so some some of it I like people get very vocal that they don't like it

very quickly um I did find it the that Ro skating it was rollerblading it's just her sort of skating up to a car and then talking about it wasn't yeah okay yeah exactly fatty Jenkins on some roller blades looks great yeah I didn't listen to the audio but yeah just her s basically rolling up to a car talking to camera and then getting into an X oh all right some lights that's that's odd yeah I don't know um just let me get my hands on it I'll fix Star Wars they're not going to let you lose we haven't talked about anything in the spreadsheet we've talked about a couple

things need the TV stuff yeah what what do you want to talk about well I mentioned Guardians of the Galaxy did you see what's her name from uh Borat is in it don't know who she is I just got mention that she's I I hope she plays the exact same character that would be [ __ ] I've not seen Borat and I never I hope he just takes her for a btim from Borat and PLS her in this she's excellent she's amazing and if like assuming that that's not how she really is yeah she's a fantastic actor yeah I know you don't like that stuff but her I think Sasha Baron Cohen has a particular talent to be able to do that and keep a straight face I know you don't like it but I think it it would be very difficult to do oh yeah it takes skill it's just a terrible skill to have

this this girl who I guess she wasn't I forget where she's from but um and she was quite young yeah and she's like she was an actress but she was not like she didn't have a whole lot of experience and then like literally put her in the room with Rudy Giuliani and had her you know pull that performance off so to speak yeah yeah well I think I think James guns could like finding Talent cuz I also think he's um he's also rat catcher too I think oh yeah she's great her name but I think she's she's going to be in Guardians as well yeah right she was excellent she was excellent yeah even just putting Chris Pratt in a action hero role yeah apparently he had to really fight the studio oh he fought against that Oh I thought it was the other way around I

thought he wanted it no he's well he may have come around on it I I listened there was an interview with him on um what's the Jeff Goldsmith podcast uh oh the the Q&A was it before that was called cre creative screen that's yeah on there they're talking to James gun he was talking about I miss that his secretary said to him um you've been this guy is asking to speak to you uh I think he could be quite good for Peter Quill it's um it's Chris Pratt and James gum was like the fat guy from Parks and wreck like they're never gonna go for that and then he Chris Pratt apparently said to him I will pay for a personal trainer and I will get into shape um if you just give me a chance and then James's like all right and then he did and then and

then after that he probably did to fight for it but Chris wasn't like the biggest star at that stage no he wasn't and so it was good for Marvel because it's hey we can do this contract where we pay you very little now and you earn more man yeah and he did he did yeah I must say I I think is absolutely perfect for quill I don't necessarily like him in much else agreed I don't think he chooses particularly good movies and I don't particularly like his performances but I watch him as starlord as long as he wants to do it I find the more I hear like personally I'm like I don't know if I like him like he just doesn't seem I I could be very wrong and obviously I only read [ __ ] that comes out in the born again or is he just always that

yeah but then there's also you know he he obviously split from Anna Faris and and he's said just said some odd stuff about the you know they kid and all that kind of stuff but I mean it could be overblown but it doesn't strike me as the nicest he's not someone is he from he he's not from that West Memphis Baptist Church is he I he was from from one of the notorious churches but I can't remember which one there was some drama with uh Elliot pagee and him because the the church is a member of is very prominent in Hollywood and very anti anti- gag anti-lgbt I think it is Hillside could be Hill song Hill Hong Hill a in as well Hill song is the Australian Hill song's the one that Justin Bieber is a priest in yeah the Aussie one

H yeah yeah so I know that the Elliot paage came out and said and said things like that yeah I just it's not the fact that he is religious it's just well it's a particular it's a particular Church he's a member of that people have a problem with because they have a particular stance on certain things and he's certainly not saying he doesn't hold those opinions as well if he's publicly yeah but he doesn't he doesn't really when he talks about it he's not doing he's not sort of denouncing what they're saying saying my sense of him is that he's very career focused and and and and just in a way that sort of bugs me a little bit in that it's almost like he did he ditch his whole [ __ ] family to become uh the the movie sty that he is I don't

know that for sure but he just look just kind of seems like I think that was more of yeah that I think him were sort of their careers were bit different oh sure but now he's married daughter how convenient daughter like and again yeah we're definitely run not be fair maybe they're just madly in love and you know I'm just being a prick but just I don't know all just seems a little bit Arnold Schwarzenegger's son is in the staircase is he HBO show is which which son the one with the secret one or the or the one with his wife oh I yeah well I I still don't

quite understand how secret son where he a spitting image that kid that looks exactly like no I don't I've never seen this kid before in my [Laughter] life um there is something else on the spreadsheet that I'm actually excited about I'm looking at right now is the fact that the Xbox Design Lab is finally available in Australia oh yes it is it not before it was not and now it is um and I can finally design my Xbox controller that looks like the Super Nintendo controller we can finally design the dick troller the thing I love about this is it's not stupidly expensive yeah it's about 100 bucks it's about $100 which is a cost of a control brand new controller anyway uh so I think it's $10 more than

if you're just buying one off the shelf but you get to put any of the colors you want on yeah yeah you customize pretty much well you can't customize the shape of anything but you can customize the color of just about everything and you can also have um text added one thing I I think they just need to go to that but even that add-ons they're not a stupid price like you get the rubberized grips and it'll be like $7.95 stupid but what I would love them to do is to get be able to me to design my own Elite controller yeah cuz you're Elite the elite controllers are amazing well shouldn't surprise you guys to know that I've already used the Xbox Design Lab before uh oh I'm not surpris at all because I've uh yeah cuz you both

had I own one of them that's right I didn't realiz you could do it in Australia no yeah it's just one of the things I miss but yeah I quite like the price and I'm I'm du for a new controller cuz the one I'm using at the moment starting to die a little bit so I could do with a new one I might be doing this yeah I might do that too a pretty one you got you got a design in mind or you just going to go nuts South Sydney fantastic expect that all right red and green I suppose we should have though we should have but yeah I mean red and green it look great for sure but I just love that people are just like [ __ ] it is going to look like a dog ate a bunch of paint and then vomit it on it yeah that is a a pattern that you can have have just have which is just just

at shipping for this I'm just on Mighty ape I can either spend $6 for just standard per hle delivery which will get it to be between the 13th and 17th of September M or I can get the express through a courier service and get between the 12th and 13th of September for $108 yeah I I love it when they're like this doesn't really value add does it no sorry when iing just a moment I'm just I need to order this now while it's available all right Singapore had this really crazy import export system where you could import from other places in Asia specifically China and Japan also for incredibly cheap but from anywhere else in the world it was prohibitively

expensive so you would go on eBay and you would go toris shell pocket comb $4 great postage $250 yeah I hate when they do that they but you could get it for 50 cents with free postage from AliExpress right or in my case Amazon confirm that's the thing with Amazon here right is sometimes I'm like oh it's not any cheaper if I get it directly from the manufacturer or from this site and support them or whatever but then they gets to the shipping and I'm like I don't pay for shipping on Amazon it's free yeah yeah that's right and they and they'll drop it off at my house tomorrow like or even same day yeah you can Oh I thought I was going to get a same day one recently and it wasn't quite they don't do same day to where I am but cuz

it I I the man who drunkenly bought a nari that's yeah no touche oh have you did you see that there was rumors going around that they were going to release a mini Dreamcast oh yeah yeah it didn't actually come about they're actually releasing the Sega Mega Drive 2 the Mega Drive and it comes with and you can play so it comes with the 30 games and also look I'm thinking about getting that one I'd love to get them all and just like have them in a you know on a shelf just all the mini especially if they were ones that I owned back in the day they did I think everyone was hoping for like the Dreamcast 2 uh the Dreamcast but they actually came out and explained why they're not doing the um they haven't got the fishing rod control [ __ ] all

people brought the and the Dreamcast in the first place well the the stuff that they used like the original Mini um basically got the technology already there like the chips that they were using to ship out originally they already work with like the Sega Mega Drive 2 and stuff they have to go back and completely redesigned to release a mini Dreamcast so yeah for our American listeners the Mega Drive is the Genesis that's right yeah but I hope they sort of when they do get around to it they skip over the sa just go straight to Dreamcast cuz I want the Dreamcast one I thought the Dreamcast was a great console the Saturn not so much there is a big chip shortage in the world right now too there is I have to wait I got I'm I'm currently speaking to you on my

new computer my new Mac Studio which is nice by the way but I um started a new job as you guys know and my laptop's still not arrived M so there's there's a shortage of components so I think some of this stuff is probably going to be uh held up you know like if they were going to do a new Mini console they might have to wait on that yeah well that's fine by me because I've recently purchased a retroid 2 plus which is one of those generic is it good multic console handhelds hasn't arrived yet it should arrive in the next week um but you you know you basically just load ROMs on and it's um it runs ulator Android based yeah RS that I've yeah literally just ripped off of Old cartridges that I've

got piled up out in the garage um and uh it just it runs a emulator you just scroll through your um scroll through the consoles until you get to the one you want and I've already have you seen that some there there's some kickstarters that are sort of finished and going on at the moment they're they're making like old games for like Nintendo and Game Boy but they're actually releasing phys I editions yeah mhm cartridge and put it in and it will play I forgot the name of it but there was one that that looked very interesting but then I was like I don't know if I would want to play it and then they said it's releasing on Steam as well I was like I'll probably just do that if I'm going to play it well there

you go and then but I'm with you because I do miss when I was a kid having game boxes up on my shelf I used you get that game box and then and even if you got a PC one was is going to take two hours to install you then had a booklet to read through it was interesting not just a booklet mate stickers they was they just fill that box with [ __ ] I remember going would love remember the first time I ever went to Dave's house and he had a bookshelf like the one that's behind me here like a fairly large bookshelf just full of games and I was like [ __ ] yeah yeah his game box collection was impressive cuz I didn't I did not have that many games couldn't you know what I'm obsessed with at the moment is uh and I'm I'm sure there's a word for

what you know what's that term for how no one could run a mile faster than a minute for like thousands of years and then someone did and now everyone can you know what I mean it's like there's this Tipping Point where something isn't possible until it is so my favorite thing at the moment is where people make games for old consoles and old um like eight and 16bit computer systems that no one thought to push the hardware in that direction back in those days you know what I mean like people have made yeah yeah like people have made a good enough Doom clone for the Atari St or the the [ __ ] coco or whatever the um but it's like it could have done it back then

they're not using any new technology a great example of that is from Grand Theft Auto if you look at Grand Theft Auto 4 and compare that to Grand Theft Auto 5 both on the 360 one start with life and one one at the end they are the the quality is just vastly different same console so it's got the same technology but yeah the GTA 5 just looked amazing and then if you go back and look at four it's just look at um The Last of Us on the PS3 like remember when that came out I was like [ __ ] hell like just compared to all the other games that were out at that time was just on another level yeah and I think it's just because like at the start developers are sort of new to it and then over years they get

more experience and find out how they can push it that little bit more um the way we're going though it's not really going to matter I think everything's I think there's maybe one more console that'll come out and from Sony and Xbox and then I think they're going to go streaming and the flat Earth's just going to fall into the sun yeah or off the edge I've been playing uh a little bit I haven't had much time with it but I've I've got um the GeForce now cloud gaming thing because I don't have a I don't have a PC uh and I was like when I was deciding what I was going to get to you know replace my aging personal laptop that I'm now using for work as well um so I got the studio because PC laptop

no no no it's it's an old Mac laptop years old now um yeah and I was like it's time um MH and I was like don't I don't want another PC I like working on the Mac and then so I tried out the GeForce now thing again and I've been playing uh I loaded up valheim in it and it's perfect it works perfectly well I think that probably is the future wait you're playing valheim on a Mac yeah because it's not running on the Mac it's running on nvidia's servers cloud service somewhere oh [ __ ] my internet here is quite good so I mean that's obviously that's a factor but it it like it's fine it's perfectly playable like and and it looks infinitely better than I than a PC I could afford is because I've got the plan with the was it the RTX uh let me open this up and I'll tell

you I I it cost me I think it's 10 bucks a month for this thing um and it's the uh RTX 380 is that good Luke yes it's what I've yeah okay so my games are running on that yeah that's that's the um video card I have and that's an amazing one yeah so I I basically also very quite hard to get your hands on I rent one Matt doesn't have to get his hands on no because the server somewhere has got one in and I just use that server so yep wow I've started to dabble on the the cloud service for Xbox sometimes when I go hey I just I don't want to quite play it but it's only available on Xbox game pass games some games I see it I'm like well

I don't need to cuz I've got it but I do I am curious about it yeah and just be able to hit that button and just load it up instantly and play I quite like but it still doesn't be actually just interet again owning it oh yeah do you get premise at your new place yeah I should do it's unconfirmed yet because technically my address doesn't even EX yet so they can't look it up I think with all new properties they're going designed with they're building with no so you can finally get gig yeah we remember we had that I can finally have the the internet speeds that I had for $40 a month in [ __ ] Singapore as the default and it'll cost you 150 yeah yeah do we have we I know we had fiber at Oran was that did you moved out by the time I got that or we I

can't remember if you got to experience that that was like the best internet I ever had in that in Australia so fast that wasn't NBN yes you went yeah before they canceled all that [ __ ] yeah yep sorry things moving on yeah I can't voice my opinions on that that's fair I didn't I didn't I didn't think of that we can move on we could move on into the after party but we should probably segue there somehow yeah well I mean speaking of things that uh are cancelled um the Afterparty is where we say stuff that uh could potentially get us said the after canel and I was like [ __ ] what am I going to do with all this beer what are you and heroin bathe in
