kima's mind is weird and I don't understand it welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy so I finally got to play Death stranding aka the baby in a backpack game AKA Norman Reus the game yes oh that's right yes it's got some other SS in it too um I've I've played like the first couple levels I have no idea what is going on I really don't I'm not sure you're supposed it's it's weird oh you know who's in that game guo Del Toro is in it is he as a character yeah think he's a doctor or something if there's a fat Mexican doctor that's him oh yes that's him yeah there you go yes he's

there but yeah I don't I'm carrying around this baby that evidently helps but I if I die I can come back to life and as no no no I come back to life as myself because of the baby if not because of the baby the baby's meant to help me see baby's incidental the monsters is it your baby cuz if it's not you should give that baby back to its parents no it's just a random baby where did he get it where did you get it don't just say I've got a random baby and then justand baby don't ask too many questions about it yeah yeah the game starts and goes you have a baby don't ask I keep it in a backpack no so you get it because you go on part of a corpse disposal mission that goes wrong God sure oh yeah sure is there a right way of a corpse disposal mission to

go well yes you just dispos of the corpse and then the cops go was there a corpse here and you go no I don't think there's cops in this game if you don't dispose of the corpse it will blow up the corpse will blow up no one wants to get bits of corpse on them yeah yeah after 48 Hours the corpse will blow up and destroy everything around it so you got to take it some here's the thing I don't quite understand so to stop this you have to incinerate the body and I was going well why don't you have the incinerator in the town why do you have to travel why don't you just let it explode if you're going to incinerate it anyway it's well no cuz the explode like basically creates a crater of where the town is okay right and so the reason why you have to take

it somewhere else to burn it is because it puts all these stuff in the atmosphere and brings the monsters type of thing I think I I love it when the Japanese ride games that's what I was going to say like this actually sounds like I might like it in a way it's like it's that thing George Lucas talked about when he did THX where he said when you watch a Japanese movie and you don't know anything about Japanese culture and it's just so forign to you but you're like okay but that's why I love Japanese game developers when they set games in Western settings like this or like Castlevania I love because it's so Western in its setting but it's so Japanese at its core yes it's got other things dialed up that we wouldn't dial up it's just like cuz if I take out the

parts I don't understand about the baby and the monsters and stuff and fact I come back to life what is the game what is this my mother oh Norman re's mother is the president of the United States okay okay who just gets to be the president even though the world's been destroyed pretty much y she dies and then he gets sent on mission to rescue I think it's his sister okay or something from the other side of the country he's been held captive but as he travels across the country he needs to activate settlements or something okay is this first person do you see the baby thir third person so you're behind the character you see the baby so it's you your eyes then the baby

in a backpack and then Norman Rees no the baby is in front of you so you don't really see the baby but look oh it's like in a baby beorn you just see the legs coming down it's in like a little sack of fluid isn't it oh God hold on I'm looking this up it's called a bridge baby Bridge baby am I going to regret typ in this in I saw the trailer when they announced this and I was like yeah I don't know so long ago but because it wasn'ts it wasn't Xbox it was okay this is not what I was thinking you're literally holding a little a like a little fetus I don't even know what to call this uh little room thing in the baby inside it's like a it's like an artificial am otic sack yes but the baby doesn't age or grow or anything and a baby can't live outside of that like it's yeah so the baby's not

going to grow up that's just the b i i don't yeah it's weird but but but what is the game play like what do you actually do in the game okay fine the story's B the story's bad [ __ ] crazy right but it must have a game Loop right where you do something all all I finished the first like two sort of main levels and all I seem to all you're doing is delivering Stu okay like you go and you you're going to be delivering packages between settlements is what it looks like okay so you and it's all about just what you accept deliveries you put them on your backpack and then you have to walk there and you try not to damage the package before you deliver it or the baby presumably or the baby what does the baby do why do why do I want the baby

with me the car play has Dooms or something which allows you to sense monsters around okay the baby when it activates will allow you to see ah when the baby activates these monsters so you can try and hide from them how do I activate I love games where you have to imagine that the Creator was like started out his pitch with now hear me out well well this is the thing Kima doesn't have to St Kima goes well that's like they announced the Xbox when they in the Xbox showcase at E3 they just said kajima is making a game with Microsoft that's all you need to know that's it cuz that's all he's telling us he's not telling us either and you've already pre-ordered it based on that so but like I'm even playing the game not watching a television show or a

movie or I'm just playing the game I'm enjoying it yeah I mean the best review Luke can give any medium to put on their poster is I didn't watch TV while I was playing it held his full attention yeah cuz I tell you what I've started watching recently m um interviews with um interrogations with like murderers and stuff oh yeah fascinating up in the anti not um oh is it something criminal psychology the YouTube channel it's a really good one um oh yeah there was I think it was what was it PCS or something yeah yeah yeah yeah it might be the same one JCS JCS yeah that's a good Channel he he quit he quit about a year ago oh that explain why all these videos just yeah all these videos just getting demonetized or was he murdered oh no you basically went like there's no point me

doing this I put a lot of effort in and well that's why when that the videos are still up and they're getting millions of views but they're already monetized so he's not get getting anything stuff that breaks the terms of service I guess well it's about murders yeah yeah well like he he did I learned about Chris Watts from a video he did about Chris was before that Netflix documentary came out and it just basically he just literally has all of the footage like the the the body cam footage and the interview footage and he just he kind of explains what's going on gives context and stuff like that and it's very like it's good because it's not there's no bias or anything he just presents this is then this happened then this happened then the guy you know and

eventually he admitted that he killed him and it's like yep yeah does he just research these or is he an Insider of some sort that gets his hand on this stuff I guess um he's researched he's got like a like a psychology background type of thing he definitely sounds like he knows what he's talking about MH but yeah it's just I just find so weird like it's demonetized so he can't make any money from it but YouTube's benefiting from it still by getting millions of views from it like that just seems yeah it's [ __ ] yeah I mean that's yeah it's a flawed system and especially for what it is it's not it's not yes it is he's not sitting in a PO in a bikini talking about maybe if he was it' be all right maybe if he was yeah but yeah I'm

just be watching those I thought they're very interesting I don't know why no no I agree they scary actually interesting I I like those because I have a I have enough kind of selfawareness to like sometimes ask myself if I'm a psychopath you know what I mean like just like am I behaving in a way normal people behave am I thinking thoughts normal people think you start think think like yeah but and then I watch these I watch these shows on and Netflix has got a bunch of great they're doubling down on the serial killer Doos you know and I and I watch them and I go oh no I'm fine I'm fine these people are [ __ ] wired different to me yeah yeah they don't have I'm not at risk of becoming a serial killer I would have known by now if I was going to be yeah Ted Bundy

didn't go oh maybe I'm not normal he was just right yeah you goal anyway who cares I'll just [ __ ] his head and also I'm handsome so probably a to convince people this is fine I've worked out what to do though in interrogation is shut the hell up sure oh absolutely yeah liar up and don't say anything one of the most interesting ones was the guy who who uh this was a big news story with the the guy who shot the kid at the gas station you did you watch that one it was like an older white guy shot uh oh yes I did the kids that were in the car yeah a group of young black kids pulled in and he asked yelled at him to turn the music down and they wouldn't and then he said shot one he he said he thought he was pulling out a shotgun and so he shot and killed this kid and then

as it was just really interesting because you watch him he's clearly flustered right and you can tell he's he's just making this up there was no there was no shotgun right sure and the cops know that too cuz they've they've got this dead kid and they've got the car they know the who they are there's no there's no question but you just watch this guy [ __ ] just talking himself into a prison sentence by like and they're just like okay tell us more about that so then what happened okay cuz before you said you said this happened but now he's saying this is what happened I just want to clarify so what what is it that actually happened and then he's like oh you know he pulled out a I saw him lift something up okay what did he lift up Oh I thought it was

a shotgun oh okay so you saw the shotgun did you when he lifted up the W I didn't see that oh okay cuz before you said you saw a shotgun it's like it's really interesting M mhm and then like as luk said shut up yeah stop talking like yeah like cuz look honestly what happened was he yed some kids he then got scared and he pan that's what really happened yeah he was worried they were going to attack him because because he's a bit racist cuz they were black and he was yelling at them and yes yes yep yep yeah and that's what that's that's essentially what happened he was yeah yeah he's got his way the and I like I sympathized with him to a point because if he wasn't allowed to have a gun on him then no one would have gotten shot yeah like all he would have been was a racist old man

yelling at fing temper mate just like just control your temper well there's that too but there's control your temper and there's control your temper when you're carrying a gun they're two completely different things yeah true but look one you have to watch Matt [ __ ] getting so American here he's like I don't know Dad guns don't kill look one you have to watch which I think is the most interesting was on so it's on the JCS criminal psychology channel is um there's something about Casey yes I've seen that one too you have to watch that one there okay I will that one that one's a roller coaster send me a link there's one that I watched which was um a man killed his wife and two kids and then put them in a a water tank or or something likeis Chris wat that's

Chris wats yeah yeah yeah that yeah that was the Netflix one that whole thing is just done by they just let him talk himself into that sentence as well by by by saying to him oh um because he was he was like no I didn't my no I didn't kill anyone and then they're like maybe your wife killed the kids and then you had to kill her and he's like yeah I just had to yeah that is what happened yeah yeah and they're like okay so you did kill your wife he's like yeah yeah I had to kill her and it's like and and you killed the kids too didn't you yeah I just I had to kill yeah I did do that too yeah you got me yeah true true yeah or I think even after that I think there's still a bit of conjecture about whether he actually did murder the children or not or whether that kids he told the police exactly

where the bodies were I think he knew exactly where well he definitely hit the bodies he definitely hit the bodies but there is still like is he just sort of still is there some truth to it that he didn't the wife sort of snapped and then he I don't think so from what I could glean from it the cops just planted that in his mind so that he would cop to at least this is this is not in the documentary okay this is after that there's still it is possible that he was just sort of like I'm going down and he he doesn't want her to be seen as it is possible but it's possible but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would take one for the team but I just love that whole the whole the whole investigation everything just starts from the neighbor going he's never acted

like that before his car not usually weird yeah but yeah that's a great documentary because it's not there's no like Nar or anything it's just here's Camp footage and here's the interviews and Away you go what was that one called something next door something like that murderer next door Mur next Str next the devil next door yeah Chris Watts lives next door and he kill you live next door to Chris Watts killer yeah yeah also earlier when I said um keep your mouth shut if you're guilty feel free to talk [ __ ] you I mean if you're in just watch out cuz the other problem is we know this happens is that they'll try to trip you up even if you're innocent because oh true unfortunately they're not incentivized

necessarily to catch the killer they're incentivized to catch somebody solve cases and if they can't figure out who the Killer is it might as well be you so just watch an interview with um an interrogation of like a career criminal and he's like yep I'm here to help you and they go so someone broke into your house a while ago the D he's well why am I arrested for that and he's just like very much like I'm I'll happy to help you but I'm not going to discuss anyone um you're talking about people breaking into my house and taking stuff well why would I be arrested and why are you questioning me over that like it's when I'm not reporting anything yeah don't off you watch that one about the guy who just um would would uh confess to any crime and so this one local this

one local precin just anytime they needed to close a case they' be like you did this one and you like yeah did that one I sure did I enjoyed that one yeah if we tell you where the body is could you lead us right to it yeah one detective who was like where he was in [ __ ] Washington State when you're saying he killed someone in Florida and they're like and the other guys I know amazing right what a killer I know what it is he must be the fastest driver in the planet mhm but yeah good stuff well like I said they're not closing cases is unfortunately something that they are required to do otherwise they lose job if they're not closing cases so I think they should change the law so that um the defense for a um defendant what do you call that it's just a defense

defense I think there should be more court cases where somebody halfway through goes you know what I think my client so did this pretty sure it's now that I've heard everything I think you might have been guilty of this crime I think it's illegal to do that because because it doesn't matter what you think and it also just because because there I mean they might still not have done it even if you think they did but it shouldn't matter it shouldn't matter how well you argue that shouldn't be whether you're guilty or not whether how well your La supposed to be about the evidence but yes I see what you're saying yeah if you get a sh if you get someone who [ __ ] then you're [ __ ] anyway a defense light will trying will still go like if you did it like they

will they won't try oh you did it okay let's try and work it how to get they will be trying to like maybe you should look up taking a deal maybe you should and we try and argue that down i' rather not defend you if you don't mind mate so can we just wrap this that great movie from the 9s where the guy hires a bad lawyer on purpose so that the criminals get off so that he can hunt them down himself I think it's called sleepers oh that's the one in New York but there's something in New York bunch of kids a bunch of kids killed a I have seen it's got Brad a hot dog vendor Yeah by throwing down the stairs I have seen that yeah they get sent to juvie and then years later they Kevin Bacon's in it yeah Kevin Bacon I think rapes them in prison yes that's right

and then years later he's up on trial and they purposely get a dud lawyer to represent him right so that they can get him so that that he gets off and then they can get vigilante justice they should have just called the movie vigilante justice was a much better name or some kids kill the hot dog vend Kevin hot dog Kevin Bacon rape vigila Justice murderer yep yeah definitely sleepers yeah yeah no that's good good movie look speaking of murders and buildings oh hold on I've watched all of season 2 of only murderers I was going to say shut mouth just don't don't admit to anything no I think I'm allowed to admit that I've watched the show right okay yep we finished it lasted watch as okay so it's all out okay I'll start yeah y good [ __ ]

let me just say yes it's I won't spoil anything I all I will say is that I expressed some concerns and it kind of one it sorted all that out I think it okay it wraps up in a way the where I was like oh okay I should have given him more credit I guess but was the um the murderer that unfunny comedian that lives in stings old apartment no in fact she just disappeared thank God look like good oh that's great that's that's yeah I don't understand her point of her character at all she was in what two episodes very briefly yeah but it wasn't like with sting who it's oh he might they go up there few that was so funny that that was one of my complaints if you recall was I said oh they got all these celebrities in there and it's

distracting well that just stopped good maybe they heard Matt they were still editing by that point and they were like oh the multiple gasm boys aren't really into this so we just cut a few of these celebrity cameos out God it's so funny though yeah I want to see is it the same kind of humor as season one more of the same yeah yeah good yeah like Steve Martin manaw are just so funny still man in particular [ __ ] hilarious he's at his absolute best in this because he can really chew the scenery I mean both of them can yeah but but his that's his character in this that's why it's so good like he's just he's being ridiculous yeah we're getting one more season and then I think Steve Martin's gone like I don't this might be it yeah you know what they should might be end

and it's a great way to go out they should do an actual podcast about it like they should they should do an actual pod scripted podcast next that would be great no I reckon I reckon he's got like this is this is where you retire like if you get into that age just go look finishing he was at that age when I was a kid I I think we've always s that I don't know how he's still alive how old is he I think it's just because he's been gray or white he says he says in this season he says they're talking in the car at one point and he says something about I think he says he's 78 years old and I was like Steve M 78 like he looks good for what I imagine a 78y old to look like back to my grandparents and I'm like think about not yeah

exactly they weren't millionaires though to be fair he's had some work done yes exactly yeah he pays other people to look after both of them you know what the funny thing is though and I don't assume this hasn't changed since the second season I love the way he dresses in this and I was like when did it get to the point where my style Guru is a 78-year old man but like his like funky shoes with the pork pie hat and the you know sto P trousers and I'm like this is a [ __ ] great look I want this look Dan do not buy another hat hey hey I wear my hat all the time I just bought the wrong hat a few times I was like what Happ all the Hat I told you not to buy you all the hats hey I regifted that

cowboy hat and to someone and I think they it suits them more than it suits me but I've got many hat purchased a cowboy hat I got so many hats and I was looking at them and I was like which one list I'm going to pop a picture maybe none of these is the correct hat no but one the thing Jen was like just wear that hat like that one no don't listen to her because it took me years to find the right hats and now I have the right Fedora and I have the right like flat cap I've got the right flat cap I'm pretty sure and they're both brickton so yeah right there's a tip for you I found my brand Luke got his Beret on yeah I know we're not even going to talk about the Beret I'm going to I'm going to pop up a picture of the cowboy hat on our Instagram this week and I I want the

listeners to weigh in or whether they think it was a a great purchase or a horrible mistake they're the only two options I want to hear it's we already know the answer so Dan bought it during his little boy Texas phase which is a flashback to Matthew mcon yeah I even think your wife put a a photo up and had a vote on it and it didn't go well for you I think it was please tell my husband this hat does not suit [Laughter] him and you know what my boss weighed in on that too I was I was like my boss at the time was like please take that hat off Danny and what have we learned you should always listen to Luke I wore an IND a literal Indiana Jones hat around America you bought there yeah and no one told me

whether or not I looked silly so I'm going to assume I didn't look may I told you it looked great and I stand by it all right not you can that that hat you can make work I still have it when when you wear a hat it's fine when the Hat wears you that's when you're in trouble I think the cowboy hat was wearing me it's actually also probably a good hat for traveling it's got that bit of a wider brim so it coops the sun off a little bit more yeah that's a good point yeah well work worked for Indie I've got different hats for different weather and depending on what I'm doing I like Luke has Infinity hats but it still feels that it it's okay for him to judge other people's hat buying cuz I wear them and I make them look good sorry he judges everybody

everything buying this is the guy who accidentally bought a phone cuz he didn't realize checking out with PayPal meant buying a phone I do buy a lot of stuff I just brought two new um controller Chargers this week oh did you did you get brought the razor ones no my they've shipped it well he's on he's on his red one at home now and he's waiting for his other one to return yeah got my red one but yeah now I can just place it down and it starts charging the Ferrari controller oh Ferrari Ferrari had a pretty good uh couple of laps in the in the first practice this weekend y driving around in a circle well L clar starting at the back though yeah but because of a penalty right well they all are so yeah yeah we'll see what happens yeah I just

I get the idea of Formula 1 I just I couldn't watch it couldn't just couldn't watch it just no couldn't do it there's not a there's I I want those people that I will watch it if there's going to be crashes I will there's always [ __ ] crashes mate I don't have to watch the entire thing and the races aren't actually that long are they're like 2 hour races are yeah about about that not even that sometimes you're about 60 laps yeah but yeah like the whole thing is to really enjoy it you have to watch three days of it really so you watch the practice sessions then you watch the qualifying then you watch the race and you could watch highlights of everything except the race I think if you wanted to yeah yeah I don't know the qualify is quite important to in some ways that's more

important the race yes but that's funny though because this weekend it's not because they're going to qualify but then half of the blood field is just took penalties cuz they all swapped out engine components that they weren't Tech allowed to so they're all starting at the back so it's like oh okay so this race could actually be interesting then I think it actually might be yeah I think possibly this is one of the ones where somebody who's normally Midfield might win we see CU yeah for me like I'm not a formul one I haven't watched a lot but my experience with it is is the person who sort of qualifies first is normally the person who wins and it's yeah there's not a lot of overtaking that happens in Formula One that's different this year yeah it

is because now there's more passing yes well they just they they they changed the cars they changed the rules the cars are different and basically Mercedes don't have the massive Advantage they used to have which is why that used to happen yeah you think they changed it cuz I think they were sort of losing people cuz there's no sort of overtaking then why am I watching people thought it was boring you watch the qualification and you know yep okay and now I know the the results I'm done yeah I mean this year there's been four or five drivers who have always been in one to fifth place just swap swapping each other out unless a couple of car problems have eliminated them and then yeah just not interesting it is interesting yeah I

made fun of Matt for so long and uh it didn't take long for me to to to see the appeal did you watch the race where I forget I forget which one it was it it was one of the more recent ones where everyone was so busy focusing on like Red Bull and Ferrari and then like Louis Hamilton just went flying by at one point did you that race so good yeah cuz they were like they were like trying to stop each other and that and then he just went around the outside of him so good my brother [ __ ] hates Hamilton I'm like why do you hate Hamilton he's like he's such a smug bastard there's so many bigger smug bastards than Hamilton he's like they haven't all been kned and I'm like okay fair cool he's very like he he what do you call I guess woke I guess but but I don't mean that in a

negative way he's just very outspoken and he's very like he just doesn't put up with any [ __ ] and he'll call it like he sees it and I think he puts people off that way cuz he's like he's always on a cause about something and which I know is I think that's good Claren is letting Daniel Ricardo going and I don't have to look at his smug face again and I know that I should stand by the big noosed Australians named Daniel but just can't you know what I like about him I thought he was very eloquent when he was stepping down and he's was giving his reasons for stepping down I was like okay mate if you talked like stepping down we mutually agreed that I would leave with a full season's pay yes my $2 million a year contract for a year I'm not going to be driving for you yeah and

there's an opening in the team that I left that maybe will ask me back anyway and I'll get to race and I'll get paid maybe but but will buckton asked him if he would take a sabatical for a year and he was like yeah maybe yeah he said yeah he said he didn't want to he didn't want to just fill a space yeah yeah now good on him wish I got paid that much yeah I know right to do nothing they paid him to go away yeah yeah well initially they paid him to drive really well and he didn't well initially he did and then it just didn't didn't continue like he does like blaming that car though he does maybe I mean that is quite a bit of it you know what I I'm in the wrong career I want to be the dude who just [ __ ] sits on the walkie-talkie and talks to

the driver and just says uh okay your teammate's coming up behind you you need to move out of the way cuz he's gone faster than you sounds like a great me laugh sometimes when the drivers have a [ __ ] and they're like oh you know the the the wheels are coming off and the engineer's like okay made a note of that yep noted yeah yeah there was a great one there was yesterday last night where I can't remember who it was but he's like I'm in the gravel and the guy's like we saw yeah my favorite is um was uh [ __ ] what's the Kimmy Rin and quote renan was a very funny F1 driver who just wouldn't put up with [ __ ] he would just like walk out of an interview of you asked him a dumb even just a dumb question it's like oh you know was it did it feel good to win the race he'd be like what do you

think and they just like walk off yeah yeah and the thing cuz he'll get fined for that he can afford it yeah yeah oh yeah so they're telling him he's he's trying to race and then the engineer comes on trying to give us some [ __ ] he says I know he says leave me alone I know what I'm doing you don't have to remind me every 10 seconds yeah amazing cuz yeah I I can understand like it would be annoying like you know you've done something wrong you know you screwed up and you've got someone who's about to explain to you that you like I I know go away let me get back focused instead of yeah yeah you telling me what I've just done wrong is not going to help but that's my favorite part of it is that banter between

between the the engineers and the drivers I mean even even just like in a couple couple of races ago when charl Clair ended up in the wall and was out of the race and you could just hear his blood curdling cries of no yeah that was heartbreaking man he was so upset his fault too just [ __ ] up yeah yeah yeah that's I I one thing I don't know a lot about driving an F1 car but I do know you don't drive it into the wall yeah that's right you will not win [ __ ] pressure on those guys like even just when they're where they're qualifying and they're like you're P9 mate and he's like I'm sorry everyone like just oh did you hear here today when the the stappen did that [ __ ]

attempted to watch and turned off cuz it's [ __ ] awful and that's sheh I can't do it I just cannot do it it's the tone is just it's so silly I don't I'm not into it but I read that they address the Edward Norton swap out really Luke tell me about this I hav I may have missed that I don't remember or that hasn't come up yet maybe it's an episode that has only just dropped I think the great you weren playing death stranding while you watched it so we know that no definitely not I think the greatest thing I've seen was at the end of season one where she just screams Captain America Fox the end of season one end of episode one I definitely didn't get up to there

don't yell out spoilers for the end of the season one no it's not the season the spoiler is that she gets [ __ ] by Captain America but which Captain America is it is it the Anthony Maggie version or is it no it's it's so she's trying she's trying to find out if like cuz she's going like he was young he was in the 40s he did this he was then Frozen like she's Captain America hasn't had sex and then the hwk exps no there was a girl during the USO tour and then she just screams Captain America [ __ ] and that's also that girl is um confused about this show I guess I need to watch one it's it's it is just ridiculous it is silly and it's just a nice change cuz it's so over the top so you don't know what Dan's talking about

don't say anything don't don't say anything about it yeah he said he just got his text and said strike one he was like wow yeah that's Gusto [ __ ] um maybe having Edward Norton in it I'm sorry Edward Norton having Tim Roth in it is what they mean by addressing the Edward Norton as in they're tying it back into those early films it is possible that this was just [ __ ] clickbait and they don't actually didn't you used to look didn't you used to look like Edward Norton at one point Eric Barner is Eric Barner no it's not no no but that one's not canon but the the Edward Norton one should be Canon it it it is isn't it no I don't know if they include it they avoid it

but it should be it is Disney even if you look at the you say watching chronological order it's not in there I think I could be wrong about that but I think it have a selection that you can just watch all the Marvels in chronological order that's a good yeah that's what we did when we got we got home from the hospital with lra and we just did that for the first I had to go on redit and find a list and then do it that way when I did it that's great um okay maybe I'll give that another go I watched something else this week that was good and I want to just run I I just want to tell you guys the story line and just see if you guys can guess what this is or if you think this is a bit familiar right so it's a it's a political show it's a show about

politics and it's a show about one country that has a two-party system that's a little bit broken right right um and you've got you've got the kind of the the good half of the two- party system that are a bit kind of inept and uh don't function very well but the the the the alternative is really bad so people prefer the way that things are but because of that it means people maintain the status quo and nothing really Chang and people just play politics rather than just trying to improve and women are trying to fight their way into Politics as well but um it's just not going well for them and people are starting to think that if if this if this kind of infighting that the country has between the left and the right doesn't end soon there might even

be another civil war and I'm talking of course about the new Game of Thrones oh what oh that that's right that's the prequel thingy isn't it yeah um it's very good it's very good I would even say it's slightly it's slightly better than the first it's it's basically season 1 Game of Thrones level quality right and it's back to just people in rooms talking about politics but it is so and because it's based on a a book that's not really a book it's based on a book that's basically an index of events they've pretty much got free reign to write these characters any way they want providing they hit certain historical points as long as like this side this happened how you get that's up to you and so they've essentially just made

this America with swords how many boobs and dicks um no dicks a couple of oh well there's one there's one or scene say there's one or there's one or um there's um there's a couple of boobs but they're very small you know the girl from um well actually she's from devs which I'm also watching at the moment but she's also from XM oh sure yeah yeah yeah she she she's in there with her with her tits out cuz she that she's does that in both of those other too yeah correct although in Dev went out of their way to make her look unattractive with the clothes and the makeup and their hair they made one of the most beautiful women in the world very unattractive but yeah she's in this back back in full form um and she gets banged by um doctor who who who was also

very naked that's right Matt Smith's in it yeah oh I wasn't going to say which doctor who might have been Tom Baker [Laughter] McCoy Sean per is he's still alive man I don't think so no um my dad met John per wait really no Sylvester McCoy Sylvester McCoy my dad met Sylvester McCoy not spoken about this before in a pub in uh in England somewhere one time arguably one of the worst doctors but the first doctor I saw because he was the doctor in the 80s so therefore still kind of my favorite yeah cuz I remember I used to watch Doctor Who was a kid and then my dad saying I met him at a pub we were some Country Pub somewhere he went in and he was a drink and he said are you that guy from and he went yeah I am

goes by then the phone in the room rings and he goes inside and my dad just sees him on the phone going mhm yes Mr kbits no I'm sorry Mr kbits no I did not realize you were on the balcony above me no I will never say anything about about you again and then just comes back out and goes that was Lenny kits Lenny Lenny's upstairs he said he's he's annoyed he doesn't like us keep the noise down that's great once I went to to Selenas at um kogi that venue at koi I think it I know we went I saw ranser there and I think the the one I'm thinking of is Blink 182 and they were staying at the hotel next door blink open for Ranson no no no it's two different events and now for some real punk I'm trying to remember R would have been doing like a

side show or something it would been I was trying to remember I think it was Blink 182 but this was back before they were [ __ ] enormous and uh and we got a tip that they were staying at the hotel nearby so we went and there was already a massive group of people there and we're like a [ __ ] it like I don't care about him that much so when I was in high school there was a Metallica Tour and we I don't know whether this was real or not but we convinced ourself that Metallica were going to play a pub the night before like to just play it to a WM yeah and so we were just like scouring and newspapers at this point weren't even the internet just looking for bands with fake names that might be Metallica under a fake name notal

notal metall I think that's just one of those stories that you hear and it depends who you get the advice from as to whether how true that would be just some other kid at my school Luke yeah right yeah um I was going to say just on the on the subject of devs and I forget the actress's name unfortunately but and X maer mentioned the YouTube video that I watched about exmachina and about the how people misinterpret or according to this YouTuber misinterpret the ending of XM did I mention this already oh interesting no I don't think so let's go I should send it to you in particular Dan you'll find interesting Luke will probably not give a [ __ ] I won't read it you it's a video you can listen to it but um it's about how you know at the end most people apparently at the end of

that movie think oh she was just an evil robot the whole time and she just [ __ ] him over to escape that's most people's read on that movie and he talks about how why he thinks that's a really simple and not correct way not that's not correct and well his key to it is the fact that uh I forget the guy's name you know the the yeah Donald Gleason's character tells her I can't Eve Eve right Eve Eva is that her name yeah maybe tells her Eva makes sense that you would call her a robot Eve yeah yeah tells her he's never seen another robot like her before but there's a key scene where the act the actress from devs how she plays an Android in it comes down into the room and and it's a very short sequence where she comes down she walks into the room

and they've never met Eva and this other girl and that's the key is it because at that moment she knows they're both lying to her and it's not that she's an evil robot it's that she's like [ __ ] you both and that's why she leaves in there at the end but hold on at that point in the film I don't think Domino gisa knows that the other girl in the house is she do know that she knows she's an Android and he never mentions it yes okay so it's that's that's the point of the video is that there's a lot more going on than people seem to give it credit for and there are scenes like that where it's like there's no other reason for that scene to be there like nothing else happens you just see her walk in and then they look at each other and it's like if if that's not what it's telling

by the baby and he was like yes I mean that's story of my life right now that's the reason I'm not playing any games or watching any films gets distracted by a baby but the baby wants attention the baby does live in my house so I've played some games if we want to briefly oh you love to talk about for example so so like today right Jenna's at work she's been doing um doing the fairs right mhm so I'm looking after no she's having her fairs yeah I know it's a disaster but in a way it's video games yeah she gets her out of that everybody wins everybody wins no because she so I'm looking after lra and then lra goes to bed and so I have a little bit of time in there where I'm [ __ ] exhausted so I don't really want to do anything

much play a long story game or anything so what I've been doing is I've finally collected all the Riddler trophies in Arkham City oh wow yeah no but that's great that's the kind of thing you need an on Rails little yeah adventure action yeah and I mean Arkham City on the Xbox series X is a bit of a disaster I don't know if you've tried to play it Luke no it's Arkham City uh I did a replay a few years ago and it was really good I don't know if I had this then I think this might have just been on the Xbox one but the remasters came out alham city did not get the upgrade treatment and it has massive issues on the series X where the textures don't load in properly and everything looks blurry at times oh and the frame rate sucks but it's actually funny how I got used to it because it's

how it used to be right the frame rate sucked before I had this Xbox I'm just used to high frames now but so I got used to that but there's bits where the Riddler trophies there's one in particular I was like I'm sure I remember that this is supposed to be a mirror and you have to line up the question mark in the in the mirror that's how you solve the puzzle cuz you really leaves the question marks but on this there's no reflective surface so it's just like there's a question mark behind you and the dot for it in front of you and if you didn't know one of those is supposed to you had played it before when it was at full res yeah you'd never know and so anyway I just thought that was interesting that that they basically just I guess they

re-released it but it's h you know it's playable but it's not not great um so that and then also um and since I finished all that well got all the trophies I was like where did I get up to in Rise of the Tomb Raider so now I'm collecting all the stuff in that as well I do love those that nextg Tomb Raider um yeah and I realized I bought they were great games I bought the uh the new one I never never played it shadow of the Tomb Raider oh never played it yep okay I think I no I quite like him because I also quite like the Collectibles they had in it cuz they weren't sort of super hard or anything and you could just come back later and collect it was there's nothing you could miss and well I'm enjoying this CU it makes me feel like oh I'm playing games

again I mean not in the same way as I was before but I am no but that that's a way that I have always played games is sort of going back and just doing that like even in St TR at the moment that just came out what I'm doing is not sort of the main story but it's going through and just doing all those little like side missions like those very little just go here and Bash up all these people in this area and just doing all of that it's that mind numbing yeah I might go back I might go back to Watch Dogs 2 next and I just start mopping up stuff in that as well cuz I enjoyed that game and then I've got Watch Dogs 3 and I've got I've got I've got a A list of Shame of games that I bought Watch Dogs 3 or Legion or whatever they call that was not a good

game I've heard that I might like it I think iate cuz I might like it yeah the reason why I didn't sort of like it is cuz you can just you don't play a particular character in the game you just go out and you can recruit everyone and then when you find out yeah but then when you find out like for me there's no achievement tired of keeping everyone alive or anything but you when you find out it's that yeah you can just when they die if you P Perma they they're but you can just basically send someone in as Canon see where stuff is and then let die then go in and yeah I just didn't I think it was missing that connection to any sort of character or story well i' I've talked about this this is this is an issue with both watch

doog games that I've played the first one and then the second one even the second one I think is more egregious because the game world was more geared around this not being the casee but you could do a mission where you just murder literally everybody right you go into murder everybody and there are consequences and your does notal with any guilt or or anything it's just it just seems so odd that you've got this character who's like like the way I'm playing it it's just it's very out of character to do that but if you but once you get in there and someone sees you I mean they they all have to die otherwise they all have to die it's your fault the reason why all your friends you at the game kind of shoves you into that all you had to do was ignore me sneaking in but then

the game just makes you you know funnels you into into doing that if you make a mistake and so it's just I don't know now it's a blood bath see now I'm talking playing no no no no is a much better game Watch Dogs 2 go for it Watch Dogs one I've played quite a lot of two I just never two I like I never played two I played one and then I was too exhausted by it to I like the world of two because it's set in San Francisco and it's about hackers and it's it's kind of a it's just like I kind of know a little bit about the tech world you know and I've been to all those places like I've been to Facebook and I've been to Google and and San Francisco I like like had like snuck in and then had to murder all the security guards what we said don't talk Dan you

doing sh shut up Denny keep your mouth shut well there was one good thing about playing Legions cuz Legions came out just after we finished our trip to Europe oh yeah so I'm sort of walking around London going I was there last week type of thing well that's where I shot that person oh I'll probably shoot someone in the game yeah brings back memories was like when we drove through um the moabi desert yeah that's where we murdered those people fall Fallout yeah that's where that family of cannibals lived that we watch that roller coaster I walked up yeah yes that was fun we found the dinosaurs yeah that was good oh yeah the dinosaurs now there's uh been a game announced that I don't know whether to be excited

about or not so I think I know what you mean it and I think I know a way to say something that might make you excited about okay go on well no let's say what the game is make sure we're talking about sucks Luke will jerk you off while you play it yeah yeah yeah yeah I'm I was trying to remember that name of that illegal game that Luke downloaded and then we had to ER don't say but I know what you mean I know the name of it I'm not going to say it I know the name of it and I'm not saying it well I forget it so I'm not going to say it uh no I'm talking about uh I'm talking about the Dune MMO uh D has been announced that is very interesting until you get to the first word Dune fine and then mm I was watching the trailer I watching

the trailer and I was like oh my God oh my God this is going to be amazing and then it said open world MMO and I was like oh I it's made by the same people who made Conan Exiles and I know you like that but do you remember how the [ __ ] servers worked for that it was very very difficult to play multiplayer ter yeah this one I think might be but yeah look I I would love to play I would probably play this game even though I don't want to watch the movie or read the book I probably play the game but I'm not going to play an MMO of though well what if we played it as but we treated it like it wasn't an MMO cuz we're not going to play it fair fair we played Conan played

Conan now for listeners who don't know what we're talking about we had a Conan server we were all playing everything was fine and dandy but then there was like a update or something and it just [ __ ] destroyed everything like oh well too bad yeah we in fact we we got in touch with them and they were like bad luck like and I said you I said refund me and they said no we're not going to do that and so I I went to Microsoft because we did it on the Xbox and I said to Microsoft refund me and they did they they they were like certainly so yeah they'll probably go yet we had a lot of complaints and also I had to I had to go to the dad that's right yeah Billy H me I gave him a chance

refund me then you're dobbed yeah yeah yeah cuz was it was it was when a particular thing loaded in it sort of c and then there was yeah times that we just reset all the settings it said yeah I was say first you just could not log in they said if you have THS working in the village there's a chance that you'll just won't be able to log in anymore yeah and I was like the [ __ ] is this game know not to do that yeah so if yeah and that's I said to the person like so you're telling me as long as we don't actually play the game it'll work fine and they like oh don't be like that and I'm like no refund me I I overheard this great conversation I was in the mall yesterday and there was this guy on the phone to I guess he's bank or somebody like that

but he was going you're saying I'm the only person who's complained are you calling me a liar I was like oh I'm just glad I'm not him cuz I've been him I'm just glad I'm not him right now you don't want to be him no no my wor I was um I had a had a landline just to connect the internet to I didn't own a phone to plug into it right it was just back in the ages of dialup and I had a landline just for the internet and then it was always $15 line rental $0 calls every month every month and then one month $1,000 calls and so I rang up I'm like this clearly just a mistake obviously it's just a computer error most likely please just delete it and they were like no no no it took me months and months and I

had to get the Telecommunications utsman to but at one point I'm talking to this guy on the ph and I like I was calm up until the point where I was like there is literally no way I can make a call um I do do not own a phone and he was like somebody must have broken into your house and I'm like plug in PH he's like yeah and plugged it in and I'm like and made calls he's like yeah and I'm like were they all on the same night and he's like no spread over the whole month I'm like so you're telling me there's someone living in my house your explanation for this that you think is better than it's a computer error is that somebody is living in my house bringing a phone and making calls yeah I try not to lose my temper with people on the phone CU I've been

that person on the phone sometimes like that person doesn't have I mean that obviously that scenario you're describing is ridiculous that person should just shut up it's not his fault because he's told he's not allowed to move the calls up when I was at Gateway people would get mad and be like just replace down there and I'm I'm like honestly I can't I understand I'm not allowed to like I I I cannot do what you're asking it's just not going to happen we and we used get in trouble because we would tell people to bring their computers in we say do you live locally just bring it in and we'll fix it yeah like [ __ ] it's so much easier and then they say you can't do that I'm like well I did so don't want to talk on the phone anymore painful yeah this was in the uh in the '90s when

very early times of yeah I get an email I get a sorry A Woman calling old elderly woman calling ight saying oh my computer won't turn on i' be like what get a screw driver cuz we're going in it's like what how don't I understand I'm like sorry yeah yeah yeah this is what I yeah yeah this this is what I am required to have you do before we will send out any parts we have to get a screwdriver open that baby up start reing components otherwise it's not going to happen so oh God take out the ram put put it back in the what darling yes and then people go why would I do that I don't know mate compon maybe this yeah exactly yeah it might work they won't let me send out anything any parts until you've done all of this yeah mhm yeah and unless I can

identify uh and justify why it's not your fault you're not getting a technician either you'll just get the part yeah right so keep the screw driver on hand like it's my discretion if I send out a technician and I've got to justify it so mhm yeah and I'll get yelled at by my boss if I've sent one out if I just send everybody a technician I will be fired yeah oh God but thank you for paying for your support yes I um yeah the last I when I pick up a call and someone would be like oh I I called last night and they told me to run scan dis overnight so that to see if that would fix my modem and I was like who who who did you talk to yeah and i' be not somebody here [ __ ] new one of those [ __ ] new kids yeah they go

they' be on the shift last night and they'd be like oh run scand just call back in the morning not my problem anymore wow piss me off you should just do the opposite you'd be like you know what call back in the middle of the night that's when you'll get my full attention yeah run scan dis again run it backwards and see if that reverse is the problem R disc scan scan disc cuz that to me that's all going to end up annoying them all cuz that then means that they've just done this and for nothing like it's not going to fix anything like at all so then they're going to be more upset because well done what you said why the worst thing the Reas how often was your advice maybe you should get a Mac I think I mean I think I'm safe to

say anything I about working at gayway Australia right they don't exist anymore we can beat them out if you don't want to say I don't I don't think it's a problem I think it's fine but it got so bad at the end because they went bankrupt in Australia that they didn't have any staff and we had we were doing support for the whole of Australia and New Zealand so you'd have people waiting for 3 hours to talk to you and I was only going to disappoint them when they got when they finally got hold of me they were already pissed off and then I had to say to them get a screw driver and do you have a static wristband you don't call back later when you've got one yeah that's right if you got you got a static proof bench top you could place this on yeah call back wait another 3

hours started watching this YouTube channel of these two guys that used to be um on the phone support at Sierra online back in the '90s in uh like the quest support yes so but but there were different tiers of it right so you were um there's like Level One support which was you just had a a basically a what do they call it when it's like a [ __ ] data tree and they were like have you done this try this flowchart yeah they just had a flowchart and it was like if have you done this no then try this and that'll lead to this um but like if you got if you were really good at it then you got put on to the ones where you were like right let's [ __ ] do this let's complete this game together and just um basically just talk people through it and the the guys seem

to be I mean there were guys that wanted to be computer programmers and stuff they just wanted jobs at Sierra because Sierra was King chicken at the time like take any J and their entry level was just getting put on the phones but it sounded like game testers these days yeah I guess so desperate for a job like that because it's in gamees yeah L could do it yeah I I I I look at becoming a game tester I honestly looked into it and basic I went he he has done it but just not for any profit he doesn't get paid but yeah but no I then I looked into it more and cuz I had someone I could have got a job at 2K Australia oh yeah oh that might have not worked out well for you that would not have worked well cuz the long R they're now gone well maybe if you would joined their

team they would have the support that they needed to keep going I I don't understand why there aren't more game companies in Australia I really don't that final day in the office they were like Luke's said no to the position and they were like close the shutters that's it was about about a year after that no there is another alerson yeah but she's not going to be interested either she do doesn't care she does not the industry the industry starting to get better now with some of those unions coming up with the game test cuz basically as a tester you go in you have a job then the game releases and then you don't have a job yes well it's like that for a lot of the people in those those kind of spin up Dev hous there's very just full-time jobs where

you're just sitting there working on one game until that finishes and then the next one starts and that's that's the I can't I could not handle not knowing what I'm doing next like I like that security type of thing so that's why I couldn't I couldn't I'd love to do it but that's why whenever I fantasize about working in a Game Dev it's always a '90s or 80s era Game Dev company where it was very different to how it is today where it was just a bunch of guys sitting around like my favorite is deline in France right based out of Paris yeah Bel Del yeah yeah sitting in a [ __ ] pool no deline did um they did [ __ ] future Wars then they did flashback then they did another world and then they did shaku and it was like you know what I mean it's like just okay

what's next Who's got another idea who's got another [ __ ] great idea that's why I love that that podcast with karmac and I've got actually here we go oh got I was inspired to pick up a copy of this oh yes Doom oh nice very nice because I thought I'd let the listeners know you just held up a book of Doom Romero and kak and the guys that that originally made Doom yeah but look cuz I've been a tester that also put me off becoming a game sister cuz when you're young you think a game sister is going to sit there and just get to play games no it's going to be get to do the fun bit you don't get to play what you want you're going to play haircut simulator over and over and find all the things that are wrong with it and then write a report about it although a game came out

yesterday and I don't know how this past so it was a drag racing game mhm you dress as a woman R yeah so it's got the it shows controls it shows it shows the controls of what you need to um like change gears and stuff and it says like to shift in the first gear right button so right bumper mhm no that doesn't work it's actually the a button shift into reverse is left bumper on the screen no that's actually X deploy the parachute is a button no that's right bum but like how do you mess that up put glittery eyes show on that's that's that's why but yeah I just how do you mess up something that simple yeah just the what the buttons do like yeah yeah and how did that pass certification yeah for Xbox like they

will they'll release a fix it's not like once you work it out you can play the game it's not like a show stoer but it's just I sort of found it annoying like mic's quite strict right with certifications I think I don't know how it is these days but I believe they used to be at least where you can't just put any old [ __ ] up there they I think there no I think that's starting to go away a little bit I think there there's some [ __ ] starting to get on there there are some games that you'll see every now and again that are like always 95% off and they're like a $150 or something but they have no achievements and they're just pieces of [ __ ] games right and I think they're starting I think that's the same issue that steam had like cuz they got so big and so many people

playing that you star to see crap making its way in Bard but I think they'll crack down on a lot fast they will crack down on it and they'll be a lot stricter steam just there's too much [ __ ] on there they're too far down the rabbit hole and it's easier to make stuff on PC yes yeah to make an Xbox you need a DE to make an Xbox game it's not not let yeah yeah what that was boring I I uh I always wanted to be a game that's why I studied programming and then I uh got disillusioned because it it became you know I heard about you know like karmak and Romero and these small teams like you're describing like Sierra online I wanted that's what I wanted was a small team

whereas I'm a programmer but I'm also a creative kind of thing and then literally at the anymore at literally at the time I went to UNI it was that kind of Boom where program if you're a programmer working on a game you no you don't get to do no one's going to ask your opinion on the you're you're in the back corner of a very big room yeah go go down others yeah go down to the basement and write some code and I was like that's not what I want to do so I got really disillusioned but now there's kind of been a Resurgence of of what we're talking about Little Indie team can do stuff and one of my favorite old games is Blackthorn by blizzard and um this was when blizzard had pretty much only done was that Viking happy Vikings
