I we do I think we do oh really okay I'll take your word for I'm not going to accuse you of lying about electronic brands yeah know they make like battery packs for your phone to you know charge on the Go and all that kind of stuff and they've got we've come they're like a multi-billion dollar company now I think they're doing really well for themselves but apparently they don't know much about Rhode Island because on their website the list of places they don't ship to included Rhode Island and someone was trying to order something and went on the chat and said they said why don't you ship to Rhode Island they said oh we only shipped to the contiguous United States we don't ship to Islands we only ship to the mainland yeah yeah yeah the person said well

we're on Islands not an island and then the chat person was like yes it is it's in the name mat it's in the name so they weren't convinced and it took the combined power of Reddit and then also the uh Linus Tech tips YouTube channel I believe also um contacting ankor and saying guys look at a map and uh We've managed to get Rhode Island on the map so to speak what makes this the we strangest thing for me is normally companies like this they don't like personally ship themselves they're normally going through somewhere and they let them handle that side of it I've only I they sell mostly I thought through Amazon um but maybe they're trying to do their own thing now to cut out the middleman because like I said maybe they should go back to having the

middleman because the middleman knows what a map is how to read it I'll say this though Matt America is Infamous for calling things that aren't Islands Islands sure like Rhode Island is just one of them right is is in New York City there's either Long Island or Staten Island one of them is not an island right yeah Long Island is an island and to be fair there are bits of Rhode Island that are Islands so maybe that's where the confusion comes in and maybe that's I don't know why they named it was it named by like a an explorer who approached it from the sea end actually I guess I think maybe the full name clears up confusion now that I'm thinking about it because the full name of the state at the time it was created was the state of Rhode Island and

Providence plantations so I think Rhode Island refers to like was initially Island and and Jamestown the island bits grew out to the Providence plantations that we you know we don't talk about that anymore but that we don't use the p word yeah yeah that that refers to the rest of it where I live not on the island which is most of it oh but I'm reading the chat from it and it's just sort of like yeah they're just so adamant yeah it is an island like yeah so confidently wrong yep yeah no it's it's on the mainland no it's not oh oh okay I love the I love the inflection that Matt puts on that text that he's reading uh no it's not [ __ ] well with with the short response that is 100% how they were typing it for sure you're not going

to I think uh email culture has has let us know when people are being passive aggressive now so you know because we all do it as I said in my last email yes cuz I bet they thought it was a prank or something m even I I love this like even the the RH islands are Northeast um Northeast near New York and Connecticut and the response is sure sure it is yeah I bet it is I bet it's a lovely Island near New York and Connecticut yeah yes anyway very funny so they but they have now been convinced oh this is why we we don't know about them they don't ship to irelands oh that good point good point we're Australia yeah we're a big island yeah everything's an island then if you

think about it no everything everything except America Dan well the Americas Matt are one from the top of Canada down to the bottom of South America there America which is you know the center of the world the universe capital A America full stop sure and then you've got the ocean which surrounds America and you're in it yeah yeah are we in Ireland I think we are no we definitely are we definitely are I'm just saying that the if something as big as Australia can an island what isn't an island I always thought that Australia was a continent and that islands and were distinct yeah yeah I thought I think we are both I think they almost are distinct other than Australia but it just goes to show that the names are actually quite arbitrary yeah cuz I think there was a

trivia question once that said what's the biggest island and I was adant that it wasn't Australia because Australia's and I think I was wrong but well I think I think the word continent is actually is not a real thing thing like because like Asia is not a continent it's a collection of countries on the continent of Eurasia and a whole bunch of islands you know what I mean it's not a separate continent to Europe or Africa whereas Australia the reason why we're Australia's both is because we're just all containers one but you've got like North America South America so but that's still one yeah PL tectonics play into it I'm sure delicious yeah I hate geog let's move on to something else um we've got some followup if you want to talk about

uh classic literature being changed for the modern times because uh who's cashing in it's the Publishers of Enid blon's Famous Five Books who are now removing did you see what they're removing they're removing the words queer gay and Brown from their books because those words can mean other things now oh I see I see I see it it took me a minute to figure that out yeah all right now to be clear they're not used in those ways and they're certainly not derogatory like in the James Bond ones we discussed last week but saying something is a little queer saying that somebody was feeling gay that day or describing anything as brown they feel is problematic the the the brown thing I think is silly the other is I was like the fact that I got a little confused

when you said that makes me think maybe there's something there like if kids younger than me read it and were like what do they mean he was que feeling queer yeah yeah yeah but that that mean that when there's only one meaning for the word now I think so I think we officially have decided that context is out upate context doesn't matter to anyone anymore I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone in real life refer to something as queer that didn't mean the you know the LGBT Q I have when I say I've come over a little queer I'm I'm talking about ejaculating on a [ __ ] okay I'm not talking about feeling a bit sick that day yeah yeah yeah obviously why when you say it I know when I say it mat yeah yeah cuz yeah there's context no but I think years of context

I think we're the only the only generation that do get confused by this because I think as you say anyone younger than us has never heard these words used not brown obviously I think that's ridiculous but gay and queer they only know to mean this anyone older than us shut up yeah well that yeah I'm confused by that one the most of all how how why is that one being sented shut up just don't worry about it mate just shut up oh sorry you know it's funny because there's a there's a show that uh my daughter watches where they're always telling each other they're being silly and in Australia telling someone they're being silly is kind of a put off like stop that don't be silly you're being silly whereas I

think in America it just means crazy you know what I mean so I keep kind of squirming a little bit when this person keeps telling everyone you guys are being silly and I'm like don't do that that's don't don't put them down like that but like in the same way as like you guys you guys are being stupid you guys are being [ __ ] stupid you know like that's how I'm reading yeah Australian kids shows shut up you [ __ ] C you being [ __ ] that's right yeah you know shut your mouth what was that all those words mean something different over here do they yeah that's right well I think it comes back to context again because I remember I I think I know where you're coming from cuz I used to get told that lock like I'm being silly and it's like stop doing

you don't know what it is listeners that's the sign of the times yeah but to be fair we only knew it was a bundle of sticks cuz we looked that word up in the dictionary it wasn't because like we were collecting bundles of sticks for firewood at night cuz it was the Middle Ages cuz I assume it was the same at your school somebody came to school one day and said do you know what's in the dictionary and it says it means something else say it and teacher say don't say that the teacher like don't say that and they oh it's just referring to a bundle of sticks Miss yeah but then when you find out the reason why that term change from bundle of sticks to that it's terrifying I don't think I know that do I not want to know that um it's what they used to be burnt on oh yeah I don't

I don't like that all right I I believe that's contested actually I I've heard that too but I've also heard that that term was used transferred over because usually it was old women who were collecting firewood to sell cuz you know they were Widow their husbands had died and that was the only way they could make so it would be like calling someone a queen or you know like any any kind of way of saying you're an old woman you know so I think it's just one of those words but I've heard both I've heard that as well yeah you know what's funny I I was when I was a kid I love well I still do I guess I just haven't read them in a while but I lovea Christie I loved sticks but only in bundles now I loved Agatha Christie and she has I'm not going to say it again but I perhaps

you know but there's one Title One book with a very very problematic title right um oh yeah yeah it's um well I I won't say it but it's it's 10 little nword is the name of the book right um it got changed yeah but and then it's been changed again yes correct so when I was it's cuz it was written in the 20s or the 30s or whatever it was when I was at school reading it in the 8S they changed it to 10 little I Words which you're also not allowed to say unless you're talking about people from India so now it's called and then there were none which offends nobody yeah and to be clear there weren't either uh to be honest there was nobody but white people in it just like all of her books but um they were

reciting a poem and somebody was killing people in the in the words in the order of that they were killed in an old poem hence the title that that's a fantastic segue into something that I forgot to put in the spreadsheet I've watched some movies okay I watched them on the flight over right um they' be watching them in are you as nervous as I am no no no it's the Agatha chrisy angle not oh sure come on guys come on okay you watch the P I did I watched the the new ones mustache himself yeah yeah I watched murder on the Orient Express and I watched death on the Nile what did you think I uh I thought murder on the express was all right uh I was like no okay it's a I liked the um you know the conceit of it where they're basically stuck on this

train and they're all uh it's almost like a play it's done like a play which I enjoyed right um limited locations that kind of stuff I I don't recall the book whether it's exactly the same as the book or not um then death the N kind of did the same thing um yeah like essentially literally the same thing got them into a place where you know they were kind of isolated um and there were none set in a country manner same thing oh okay I thought death on the Nile was much better than yeah it was or Express yeah I thought orian Express was a bit bit weak uh I liked I enjoyed it but it wasn't going to blow my mind I thought yeah the other one was better um some of it was yeah know it they were good they

didn't blow my mind I enjoyed them look I am need to try and get to see some movies next week so I can talk about them next week's podcast some specific movies or you just feel like you haven't been in C in a while haven't been to cinema in a while and there's actually some movies I want to see I want to see cocaine bear oh yeah it's just looks ridiculous and I I I like Elizabeth Banks that's sort of her project and I want to see 65 oh 65 looks amazing Matt you aware of this movie hang on that's is that the one with um what's his name in it Adam Driver goes from the future or an out of space and he goes back ands lasers at this is shaping up to be the greatest movie ever made like this is this is their to ruin at this point

yeah if you've screwed this up got out yeah I'm going to review movies next week fabulous all right well I watched two other movies as well yeah you caught up cuz you said you were going to watch a couple of movies I did I did I watched X and then I watched Pearl X is a great movie I Pearl better yeah I like too but I like them both very much I like this I like the tone of of these movies of the Tai West movies they remind me a little bit of The Texas Chain for Massacre yeah just that old Hicks hickville type setting and people that aren't quite trustworthy well that was not the I was not expecting that story no I was expecting the murder and stuff but not who it was very odd in an interesting

way there was particularly X as it went on I was like God where's he going with this like yeah like and yeah yeah good I enjoyed it and then I said PE I enjoyed just a little bit more I thought it had a bit more more character stuff going on that was well evidently Mia goth was a big part of the wri I don't think she's credited as a writer necessarily but she was allowed to kind ofu her character she is I I noted that and I read I read too that um apparently they got funding for x and they were filming it in New Zealand and they had flown in and they were in their two we co quarantine cuz was during that period and they wrote the the the the the kind of what do you call it the synopsis for um Pearl while they're in the lockdown and sent it to the studio and then they said just film

it while you're there and that's how they came out so close togethering just and why and it's why they look kind of the same probably shot in the same type of film stock and literally the same location everything the except I guess they built some sets for the you know the downtown scenes and then yeah yeah I'm looking at some of the awards they got and it's s of like they'll nominated for this also nominated for this movie also so that's so funny yeah um I watched I watched another movie that I don't think I mentioned that I want to just pop in here which is uh it also Stars me a goth and it is called infinity pool although I don't know why it's called that mentioned this before that's David cronenberg's Son's movie yeah Brandon Cronenberg who knocks it

out of the park with the last three movies he's made I've loved them all he's makes movies exactly if if if David Cronenberg was young and making films now this is what they'd be you know what I mean like just weird offbeat with a decent amount of body horror um this one Stars one of the SARS guards the handsome one and uh he's very good tazan exactly right and and and it's excellent it's it's really good it's t gargard I think is his fa yeah targard tgard how was that not a thing when that movie came out anyway yeah [ __ ] seems so obvious now that you've said it that movie was garbage but I I but I still enjoyed it cuz he was so good like you know what I mean like he just looked so good as tazan that you were like yep

that's Tarzan yeah we went by to a screening of that and it means you get free drinks which means it's just even more enjoyable cuz drunk and even if it sucks it's fun yeah yeah just checking Margo Robbie wasn't the girl from home and away you pretended to know was it no no no no no no and I know you didn't pretend to know her I'm I'm being factious yeah no no I know you know I I would remember if it was there was the she had red hair I don't know I don't know who she is like I said it's not even like I saw her on the show I just I guess was saw TV commercials or something and just osmosis I was like person looks really familiar like yeah and then she I think she said hello first cuz probably because I was staring at cuz you were

staring at her yeah yeah anyway I did like Hello like do you want an autograph or something I did meet people from home and away like actually met them at the the premier of the nice guys you know that movie oh yeah yep and Russ these Jenna and I were talking to these group of people there and um and I think one of them looked familiar anyway we were talking to them and they say anyway yeah have good have a nice enjoy the movie see you later whatever um and then I was like the [ __ ] were they and then yeah later on I was like looking up who was there and all that kind of jazz and oh okay there were photos of them on the red carpet I was like homeing away cast if only I watched that show I could have shooed but I

didn't know who I was talking to so do you guys did you guys used to watch ABC after school when we were kids and do you remember the afternoon show yeah yeah with Monday Munchies you guys remember this you know what I'm talking about so Andrew Valentine hosted this kids after school show where he would just do kind of funny skits and stuff and and then throw to cartoons and you would see cartoons and he would come back after the breaks etc etc um I sat next to him once decades later at a at the premiere of um shadow of the vampire you know that movie about the making of no Fatu with William defo yeah and just randomly I got some industry tickets and then we just so sitting in the sitting in the media section and I was just like I'm looking next to Andrew Valentine then another

couple of decades pass and I'm doing a videography gig uh out somewhere and boom Andrew Valentine's there and but meeting me and being introduced to me and then like an idiot I went I sat next to you at the premiere of shadow of the vampire and he was like what we've met before okay yeah you don't remember me once in the early 2000s I sat next to you at a [ __ ] Cinema he I believe you yeah I believe you but [ __ ] man cuz he wouldn't consider himself famous enough to necessarily be you know remembered from every little appearance he's ever made so weo which one of them minari we've actually met before if you recall oh and

actually I hope you bump into Nino and Mina saari at the same time don't know which you already met I need to follow up on that story from the other week because you know how I said Jenna doesn't listen so she won't here she did listen and she did hear and uh and I still clarify no because this was fair and I didn't make this clear we had just moved from Sydney right so it felt like he were further context to to yeah exactly I left that bit out because I'm stupid so I love it that even without that fact that story still made perfect sense and yet Jenna is still like I need you to put every fact about that dat back in there I want there to be [Laughter] absolutely yeah I have to listen to find out what happened

to say um which which made me laugh but I finally finally found the best use for it GM have announced they're going to use it um and they're going to use some kind of text to voice prompt so that um your car can talk to you night riter style all right yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah okay y yeah we've arrived gentlemen even is it going to do anything or is it just going to I've watching night rder by the way just going to be able to talk to it have you I wasn't going to talk about it cuz I've only watched a couple episodes but yeah yeah you know inspired by sure I watched the first episode last year yeah and I meant to keep going I never did I got it sitting on my hard drive so listeners perip

for something and he he was he had a gun yeah yeah yeah okay yeah yeah he'd been threatening and he went to shoot them and then they shot him instead so essentially so what happened was he pulled over and he's going I don't need a license I don't need a number plate I even think he had his mom on the phone with him going they're going to arrest me and all this stuff yeah and just to be clear he was pulled over because he didn't have a number plate on and he didn't have a number plate on because he wanted to get pulled over so he could tell cops he didn't have to have a number plate on I think you'll find he had a had a license plate that he made himself yes yes cuz they think that's fixes all the problem so they've gotten to the point

where the cop's like get out get out get out and he's not so he gets to the point where okay we're going to pull you out at that stage he announces he has a gun and reaches for it yeah don't do that and that's where everyone just not we're going to fill your car full of bullets now because you've just been arguing and threatening with us for the last 20 minutes and now you're done that you just put on Ed like what are you doing mate all he had to do was announce like I have a gun at the start right not reach for it or even said like before they come in just let you know I do have a gun but to wait for door to be open announce it and then reach MH and he may have just been reaching to move it to just hey it's here I don't think he actually going it doesn't matter at

that point no I'm not defending him I'm not I'm saying in his mind but from the cops point of view you've got this guy just arguing with you reaching for a gun maybe but he was argumented from the start and like I don't want to come across like a fascist right but this is this this is a prime example of exactly what not to do when you get arrested like when you get arrested show the policemen your ID show them your license and registration comply with their wishes and then if you feel like you've been pulled over for the wrong reason then that's what the courts are for like now yes there are examples of racist cops bigots of course there are but that that's as far as I know not what was happening here in this particular example seems un yeah um he was pulled

over because he had as you say a [ __ ] number plate written in crayon because he was antagonistic towards police to begin with yeah I think it's it say citizen of oh it said Utah American state citizen he' made it himself notice private automobile not for higher cuz that's a thing I guarantee CU they read something in an old dictionary about driver but the way the cops the way the cops have have beened talking about this he must have confused the [ __ ] out of them and I feel like it's almost like these people need to understand no one knows what you're on about and like I know now because Luke has told me things when I that's the only reason we know when they asked him that was him on his um license he said that's not me that's a piece of plastic paper and then the cop was like

what like oh sorry his passport no so you have a fraudulent passport and then apparently it's because they think that's a trick question or something oh God yeah like yeah they think they think everything's a trick question but I guarantee the cops had no idea what the [ __ ] he was trying to get at and then he reached for a gun and they were like [ __ ] this yeah and then they all shot him all [ __ ] six of them stand there just started shooting him it was insane I thought it like yeah that was a lot of lot of bolts going into that car it it seemed like Overkill and I don't want to support that but what else were they meant to do at that point like that's that's what they're trained to do that's what they did and they told him so many times before that like just step out of

the car so we can talk about this [ __ ] number plate yeah yeah and like I said he must have sounded like an insane person and also he was threatening them so and look I'm not there are cops out there that do do terrible things but I don't think this movement is helping that because they have to deal with idiots sit there and argue with them for 20 minutes to an hour to so they can write a ticket when other up by the end of that when other sofits read this article right what do they think do they think this was like another hero they knew exactly what was going on they knew what he meant when he said a thing about his passport and his they knew why he had his his perfectly fine license plate like they think it's

they're not reading this article yeah yeah yeah they're reading their own chats and things and this is the police tyrants out there holding them down and mind you I saw one just Luke you might have seen this one too but it was it was a really well spoken guy who had a print out some kind of print out from a court that said he didn't have to have a license or whatever and I I don't know what that actually said but he but he was very eloquent and he said just said that he said to the yeah that's right he said to the cop who pulled him over look um I don't expect you to know what a sovereign citizen is obviously it's not something that's in the mainstream I've had to go to court to prove it in the past and I've had a judge say that it's

okay actually if you work for Constable whatever down at the station he knows cuz he's pulled me over before can you get him on the radio now it still didn't work he still got drag from the vehicle but at least he at least he survived yeah he did survive cuz he didn't pull a [ __ ] gun on a cop but the thing was he he was at least slightly more intelligent about it yeah yeah yes yeah but no there are people who just I don't I don't get what they're thinking is like no if you didn't need a license or a number plate they would let the cops know yeah that's right and also if you think you didn't need a license or a number plate why do you have a fake number plate on your car you clearly think there is some kind of law you just aren't quite sure what that law is but

last year we reported that the creator of disco elesium had been fired by the distributor of disco alium um and I never quite understood why but he said that he was suing for wrongful dismissal right this week it's been announced that he has dropped the wrongful dismissal case and so I've tried to piece it together and I think he just didn't quite understand the rights he was selling to to the publisher when he sold them and then he tried to essentially continue on like he was still in a small privately owned fourman team when he no longer was when he was corporately Affiliated you know so evidently um he

was fired because he was basically treating everyone like he was still the boss when right they they'd been bought out and they were actual bosses now um right and then he he was trying to sell the IP or versions of the IP out from under the company that had already bought it from him as hold on so so basically he he he an off was put on a table he saw dollar signs y didn't really pay attention to what it was and went I'm taking this money but still think he had control over that the IP was still all hiss and these guys were just going to you know help publish it and they were like no mate we we bought this so that we could own this and sell this it your name still on itth yeah when he sold off the rights to the game

and they and they offered him more he went no it's nothing and then when it made all his money he went no I want more oh you must have misheard me yeah yeah that's right um which is a little sad and and he's he's kind of admitted it he's not made an official statement but it said that when when the when the lawyers when his lawyers spoke to their lawyers it became clear that there wasn't a case to go forward with cuz I think they just brought out the contract and said here's where it says we own this well look it that's what you were selling to us yeah this all seems above board you time gentlemen that's right yeah which is a shame you know I mean like if that's if that's the thing because it sounds like look I know creatives do get screwed I know that

pilot episode of Street Hawk which is one of my favorite showet which is quite similar to the night I had forgotten that that even existed Night Rider story about a guy who gets shot and uh and then saved and then gets a you know robot car and then Street Hawk a guy who gets run over saved and then gets a a bike he doesn't get run over by um by kit from Night Rider does he no Christopher Lloyd runs him over a big big monster truck yeah now you say it's quite similar I have a feeling that they went into the studio and said hear me out it's Night Rider but with a motorbike with a bu they're quite different though Night Rider I think holds up better Street Hawk has a lot of those you know when a scene ends they just kind of slowly zoom in on someone's face and in some cases

it's like it's a character you're never going to see again and I don't know like what why are we looking at this guy like yeah yeah I also think that because obviously you know we've made films Etc and we we know how to kind of act in front of the camera but this predates our you know introduction to that do they just say now when you finish your line just keep staring at him for what feels like way too long cuz they must we're going to be zooming in you won't be able to tell cuz it's all in camera but we'll just be slowly zooming in don't change your expression cuz it'll be getting bigger and bigger on the screen I got did you just remind me this just slightly go back to Pearl that shot the the end shot of pearl is amazing when her comes in and it's just it's not
