I'd just like to take this time to welcome Dan back to Australia welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy thanks Luke it's nice to be here although I don't feel like I'm in Australia in fact I don't feel like I'm anywhere at this point because I'm in a hotel room and I'm not to leave here for 2 weeks and it's a really strange psychological phenomenon now I remember your first day you're saying you're liking your room so much you may not want to leave I want to leave that was more than a few days I want to leave right now just for 5 minutes outside are you allowed outside at all is it like a

supervised hour outside I'm not allow other inmates not only that but when my food is delivered three times a day I was just telling Matt this off air they knock on the door I need to wait 30 seconds to give them a chance to walk away walk away before I open the door and pick up my food tray off the ground like I'm in prison even though you've been tested and you don't have AIDS I I don't have AIDS as far as anyone here knows yeah covid-19 who knows but definitely no to the a I got the swap that's uh that's uncomfortable I got my swab and my doctor complimented me on my gag reflex when getting it done when getting the swab done or just sometime during the same session it was a little something

we're doing a bit later on after the session he was off the clock then yeah I made a I made like a strange sound what I thought was strange and then I must have kind of triggered something cuz the guy went oh no this is uh this is a very mild reaction and I'm like oh okay then he shoved it up my nose do you only get fed three times a day like is that strict yep three Square mm so you can't order like room service no you can't order room service no but your food does come from the restaurant at the hotel so it's good food but they do only bring it three times a day if you want anything else you have feel a little snacky like it's 1:00 in the morning you've just finished watching some hotel porn you felt like a pizza I often feel like a pizza at 1: in

the morning but I'm afraid that's just not allowed do you get free on demand movies and that kind of [ __ ] or you know I don't know I Haven haven't turned on the TV here yeah I'm just so used to not having a TV I just never turn one on even when there is one okay well I've managed to get one if you back in the country now one more to go yeah good luck with that yeah that's not happening nope not unless my house can come with me it's a nice house I I want your house you can't have my house get your [ __ ] hands off I noticed that um my basement mat Jen oh is yours the basement is it so mine's the attic is it okay because there's a wardrobe in mine room now then is there that's our bedroom yeah the there is we don't have an attic that's just

our bedroom oh that's your bedroom yes well where are you going to sleep when I'm over yeah I don't know we haven't figured that out yet I guess outside I don't think we really need to worry about it for a while yeah outside I guess no one's visiting anyone so what have I missed this week I've been well bit out of it I think you're aware that uh apparently Co 19's hit Hollywood this is when it really hit home for me yeah when yeah when Michael Rooker when you found out diagnosed 19 yeah Michael Rooker is funny dude he uh he's been putting up on Instagram for a while now he's been talking about how he was self isolating in his Airstream which is like a you know camper out in his driveway and then

I did think why the [ __ ] is he out in the driveway of his house in a camper like I thought maybe he's been working and he doesn't you know he's just isolating himself from his family but it turns out no he actually had covid-19 which is why he was doing that um and he also said that he has not been taking any medication cuz he thinks that his immune system should just be able to deal with it and I was like well that's a bold Choice very B I'd just be going off what the doctor would tell me but if anyone if anyone's body would fight Co to the death it's Michael R's body that's probably what he was thinking too at first I was like I don't know if that's why I oh it is Michael Rooker so I uh I know I keep crapping on about scream Queens on VH1 an old

shortlived reality show um but the first season was hosted by James gun and on one episode he was like we've got a very special guest tonight and here he is and Michael Rooker Works walks out and all the the contestants are like oh don't know who that is Oh no just Michael Rooker standing there with everyone just not knowing what to say yeah yeah see it's I I can sort of see it though because it's not while everyone would know who he is now he wasn't that big back in the day no I'm not sure people necessarily wouldn't oh from Walking Dead and from um Guardians I guess but he's not like a he's not an a-lister still right I I know him from Mor rats yeah oh yeah he was this yeah he was this stink Palm guy mhm yep yeah I know him portra of a serial killer that's

right well he's a good actor uh I know from sther yeah yeah slyther was a great movie he's in pretty much every James Gun movie I think he is in every James Gun movie from a certain point on I think they might be friends maybe it might be I've got some later's going the list of celebrities with all right we'll go head up one notch MH order of importance Batman's got covid-19 holy [ __ ] Michael Keaton has covid-19 Adam West is already dead I don't understand yeah they dug him up to

give him a test and turns out he was the source wait you're just telling me Val Kilmer has Co was a bat turns out it was Batman it was Adam West someone was having raw bat yeah and now George Clinton has got covid-19 no Robert Patterson has bman and they Haled production again as a result and it's unclear how he got it because apparently they've been very strict uh and they he's the only one they've announced has got it in the production so someone else would have to have it there like he'd be working very closely with a lot of people on set to spread around a little bit this was only a couple of days you think so yeah they' only just resumed shooting he must

surely must have beaten the [ __ ] out of somebody on set and given them covid-19 I'm not I'm not sure if this Batman hits anyone I think this is you're pacifist Batman hugs free hugs Batman oh I mean bedroom listening to The Cure Batman he cly beat the [ __ ] out of somebody in that trailer yeah I know I did like brutally Zack SNY loved it did you see that no Zack Zack Snyder apparently that said he texted the director just that scene just what Batman's beating the [ __ ] out of somebody and then Zack Snider was like [ __ ] yeah man I'm like that's DC movies can be cool yeah I did read a review I read a review of the boys this week that said the boys is if what it would be like if Zack Snider didn't have to take a studio

note I've seen the boys neither have I got it bookmarked yeah thinking about it so we with I don't think the Batman will hit its Target date of October next year now I'd be surprised like they've got to how long are they going to I mean how long does it take to get over covid-19 like indeterminate right if he say symptomatic they have to wait until he's tests negative but if he gets sick could take [ __ ] ages yeah I don't actually know how long you get sick for how much more of Batman have they got to film apparently only filmed like 10% of it yeah right they' only just started I thought so they probably at least got like another five to six weeks of shooting so everything in the trailer from the first 15 minutes of the movie I'm

chronologically that's right sometimes they shoot the trailer stuff first right intentionally mhm well did did you hear the story about Mike Tyson how they he was in a movie and they had to shoot it in sequence cuz he didn't get it he didn't understand speaking of Mike Ty that's great did we talk did we talk about the Shark Week thing where he was going to fight a shark yes what happened did you watch it did he fight a shark so okay they were they said he was going to KO a shark right remember what he did was he got in the water in a cage first and then he got out of the cage and he did that thing where you flip a shark upside down and it immobilizes it okay that's what he did that's what he did I mean know a lot about boxing but I think that's an illegal

move their opponent upside down until they like like immobilized well there's no ear for him to bite F Mayweather upside down that'd be a problem there's also a clip of him from before he goes in the water where he throws up on the boat because he's so scared I mean you would it's it's comforting to know that even [ __ ] Mike Tyson Mike Tyson scared that sharks to the point of vomiting yeah yeah that's right so Batman Luka are you sitting down yeah speaking of getting sick from Co someone has gotten sick someone close to your heart this one shocked me mhm yeah you would think if anyone could just walk through Co would be a wall of Co yeah and shrug it off Dwayne The Rock Johnson

he has covid-19 and he's been very sick yeah which he has been a bit quiet on social media that was probably something to do with it probably yeah he he put up a video and he does not sound good in that video his voice is very grally he sounds uh he sounds like someone with covid-19 Strangely I know yeah mention that but uh but he has now recovered that is the main thing and his daughter's and wife as well that yeah yeah his whole family yeah brutal but uh that's why Michael Rook is in his winnabago Matt that's right way to protect the Rock's family yeah did we I mean I know we already talked about Michael roer but the reason I know he's in an Airstream is because

he posted an Instagram photo cuz some woman was trying to piss on it did I tell we talk about that what he woke up in the night and he heard something outside and he went out and some drunk woman was trying to piss on his Airstream and he had to call the cops do you follow Michael Rooker on Instagram of course I do he's very entertaining he posts a bunch I had to stop following I had to follow all the celebrities that I had initially followed because I just didn't want to see them living normal lives you know what I mean I just I couldn't do it he posted this is a long time ago he posted a photo of uh it was like some some army sniper team or something like that and they had their

their the kind of logo they had chosen was two s's oh God and uh and and everybody in the comments was like uh that's that's what they picked and then he had a kind of an argument with it was yeah in the end he deleted the photo I think cuz there was uh some s similarities between their logo and the logo of certain uh certain military uh division from World War II Elite Nazis yeah on the bad side yes the anyway so yeah Michael Rook is quite entertaining I now follow him on Instagram cuz I didn't know he was there yeah he's been posting his uh his odd food that he's been eating as he fought Co with natural you know food instead of medication man I can't imagine being diagnosed with Co being

like you know what I'll probably just give it a shot without the medication thanks like cuz there's no sort of if it if it doesn't work yeah maybe it'd be fine but I mean from what I've heard about this thing I just want it gone as soon as possible I just want to make sure gone sure you might do that with a common cold but even the flu cuz I know someone who almost died right it's it's not good if you get sick it's really not good Matt we know people who have died from it indirectly oh true enough yeah like this isn't a [ __ ] around with exactly just [ __ ] take I know people who had it months ago and they still not 100% yeah like but the thing is also they're not quite sure what to give you for it yeah that could be the other thing like there's no he's the Cure uh this

might work for you or it might make you worse but either way you have to go into the hospital you can't just live in your [ __ ] silver light or whatever it is no you want you want to plug the brand of [ __ ] starwagon again it's an Airstream it's a very famous uh American brand they do like some depending on how severe your symptoms are they may not want you to go into the hospital yeah yes just extra strain on the hital really really vulnerable people are at the hospital stay away yeah so there are a lot of people who who do have it who's just like you just got into quarantine at home yep that's we will send someone to go check on you I know somebody who had it was uh was quarantined in the basement by his family uh and lost his sense of taste

and smell for a month mhm ho [ __ ] completely lost it couldn't taste or smell anything for a month unbelievable wow did that make things better or worse worse as he tells it okay I I think I think not having taste or smell and the day it returned he ate he said he ate everything but that's what I mean I would just eat healthy food yeah why not yeah cuz you're not if you're not going to enjoy it because it tastes like nothing that's time to get into Shake just eat broccoli yeah and it also might be good if you locked in the basement and there's no shower you don't have a sense of smell so that's all sorted as well yeah that's ideal yeah yeah that's a good point we have to get something installed down there for when you come and visit Luke cuz you're

not you won't be allowed in the main house no and there's no windows for me to go out oh there are little tiny windows at the at the just at the top there's a couple there's Windows you could you could crawl that one if you needed to I was talking about peeing outside of it oh I wouldn't do that You' probably end up just splash back down on you plus you'd probably pee on a deer that was Meander right yeah and it would just pee back yeah or a coyote Cody could bite your dick off while you were peeing out the window I don't want that to happen I don't want that to happen to you either it's not up to me coyote yeah you're waving your dick in a coyote's face it's up to him whether he

bites it or not you've you've entered his toilet what the world yeah the garden outside my window yeah yeah the Northeast United States that's right Nature's toilet HP lovecraft's toilet no I think um New York City was HP lifecraft toilet yeah he lived there for like 5 years and went this is a [ __ ] hole I'm going going back to Rhode Island he was ahead of his [Laughter] time nah New York's um speaking of uh speaking of stuff that happens in New York City um I watched a documentary film this week that I think both of you should watch and it's called Welcome to Tromaville oh yeah oh okay I might watch

that cuz I like troma yeah me too especially the old I like that old stuff I've not really seen anything that they've done recently likea 20 years poultrygeist onwards yeah it's uh this is not a particularly well-made documentary uh but if you like tra if you like movies thing yeah yeah it does in a way um and reminds you how many I I haven't seen too so I've got a list of ones that I need to go back and catch up on too well they've got their own streaming service that has like I'm not going to pay for that I'm not going to pay for that they just got kicked off YouTube recently no they're back oh they're back okay they they complained and got back but I'm sort of you're AR

treading you're on thin ice with that because yeah your stuff's not really family I know because every time something like this happens Lloyd's posting about it being like oh we're being censored kind of stuff it's like you know why like it's cuz of that [ __ ] thing you posted on there trying to be as provocative as you can be you posted a thing against the terms and they blocked you come on man but whatever he's he's a funny dude yeah yeah I made him one day they uh he he does tell this one funny story about how he um they they sent one of their films to the npaa and and got it rated right and if they said okay to get it down to the R rating you need to cut like 32 minutes or something out of it so half the [ __ ] film so they yeah so they

agreed and they um they sent them the revised Carton and they were like yep here's your R rating and um but then when they sent the prints out to all the cinemas theyed print yeah that funny oops if you want to meet him Luke all you have to do is come here and we can just drive down and meet him it's like he's like the most accessible celebrity in the universe you just go to the [ __ ] office knock on the door and he's de we will do it next year yeah if from they do internships there if you want to go and ask for a job Luke I think they just call all the jobs of their internships there that way they don't have to pay anybody yeah that's true yeah yeah they they don't like paying

people no you get free labor with interns why why pay for it it's not just interns mate they didn't play James gun they didn't pay Matt and Trey what it's the whole thing I guess you can't really call them on it yeah that's right yeah uh but the reason I watched welcome to troville amongst other things that I watched this week is because I have Prime video now from Amazon ah I was that on Prime it's great yeah Prime is actually really good if you like [ __ ] old horror cult sci-fi it is a treasure Trove it is the closest scrolling through the Amazon back catalog is the closest feeling I've had in my adult life to being a kid and going to the video store that in the pig movies on therei yes I got that bookmark

right here it's not good Dan it's not good but watching any yeah mate none of the ones I've bookmarked are good all right but they're all very enjoyable yeah Prime video is good Prime in general is good but I mean here it is I assume you probably get value out of it in Australia too I get a lot of value out of it look it seems to be great and it's also got water rats I assume you don't have that no we don't have that I have to correct you one thing Dan it's not welcome it's greetings to greetings from Tromaville greetings from Tromaville search for went it's not there and then I found it so just in case our listeners are going to have a look now it's greetings from traville okay was only made a couple of years ago

as well yeah yeah it's fairly new doco it's basically Lloyd with a [ __ ] microphone talking a camera just telling his life story Shakespeare's [ __ ] storm is his new uh new film it's adaptation of the Tempest yeah so looking forward to that one well yeah I mean he's done tromeo and Juliet so why not yeah yeah he's done a few shakespears over the years not you know this one there's a lot of people throwing up yeah and being [ __ ] on uh I think that's are you talking about this film or all the other films Luke thrown up on in a lot of the films one of the stories that I love from it is the actor who played um what's uh what's tox's name before he Bec

toxy Marin Melvin yeah so the actor who plays Melvin who's this like skinny little dweeb guy right and um he approached Lloyd and he said I want a job in your movie um and Lloyd's like yeah yeah yeah every Ro is available what do you want he goes I want to be the script supervisor and Lloyd's like yeah sure but I'm actually thinking of you for the lead part in the movie and he goes okay sure can I also still be the SCP supervisor yeah sure yeah I want to be what does a script supervisor do they I want to be an assistant set dresser just an assistant the script supervisor basically in Australia we call it a continuity person they basically have

the script open and as the scenes playing out they read along and they point out if there's any inconsistencies yep like oh you said said this but in the last scene she was wearing a red jumper so you have to say red jumper here moved that mug you've got to have to put that mug back I remember I SP shut there was a problem when they were playing they were in a room with a pool table and I think in between shots people may be playing pool because those balls kept moving even though no one was playing unfield I think you'll also find that that one scene was filled over a period of about 3 or 4 weeks well not only that and edited together it's a Stanley C film everywhere so almost certainly there's a theory out there about how intentional those balls were

and how you're just missing the point mate you're missing the point yeah yeah the crab like that movie he does nothing by accident or mistake have you have you seen room 237 Matt the documentary no no it's a documentary only about theories about The Shining so it's got nothing to do with the making of The Shining it's only about about just the story yeah yeah yeah yeah the book they don't mention the story yeah no no just the movie all right so there's like one guy is's arguing that the whole shining is a metaphor for the um Apollo Mission and it's cuc's way of admitting that they faked the Luna landing and then you got another guy who's yeah and he's putting cuz you know like Danny wears the Apollo shirt in in one scene you know all this

stuff and then uh and you know when he's sitting there and it looks like there's a rocket pointing towards him and all these different things and then this one guy is arguing that the whole thing's a metaphor for the genocide of the Native Americans and forward my theory yes please it's not a metaphor for anything it's just a movie sit down and watch it it's a very good movie The Shining have you seen The Shining everything needs to be a metaphor um it's one of those ones I've never seen but I I know it all yeah cuz of The Simpsons parody the simps The Simpsons a lot of things it's not even parody in The Simpsons they basically just it's it's the shinan I I think it yeah if you if you took all the different Simpsons references to The Shining and edited

them together I'm sure you would just be the sh have a length that's comparable to the movie yeah oh I just remember the whole thing about that [ __ ] Ready Player One sequence in The Shining that was awful Ready Player one was just a terrible movie that was weird and awful how SPI I've blocked that out there's a whole sequence in it where they have go to the hotel the Overlook Hotel and whole blocked that out yeah it was bizarre that was a terrible movie you guys see the sequel there was a sequel mhm came out last year you and McGregor stars as D I thought you meant to to Ready Player one yes I have seen Dr sleep yeah Dr sleep was pretty they are yeah they are apparently D is ready player to yeah of course of course they

would me ready play one ready play one but be his pop culture thing but they didn't have like an end credit sequence or anything there were bits I liked about ready player one uh there a lot of it that I did not like though and when I think back stuff with like uh you know this uh hit Co key hidden in adventure and there there's some good stuff just not a lot but there some I didn't quite like the the the girl in it cuz I'm making out that she oh she's hideous like she's shap face that's why she's always online and S like she's she's an attractive girl she just has a birth mark oh no yeah and it wasn't like a bad birth mark at all out of 10 with a tragic flaw right yeah she's like don't look at me don't look at me should do I'm I'm

yeah yeah I'm going to look at you yeah look tell you what look look at the 98% of me that's perfect okay don't look at the 2% that's got a slight discoloration slight imp Perfection yeah that was bizarre no you can't have the King of Pop Culture waiting until he's an old man and then doing a movie about pop culture I did read it was a somebody said that um the bits of that movie that were good were the stuff that took place in the real world where they were driving around in the van and that and that felt very Spielberg because that's what he knows how to do once you put him in like a completely CGI thing it's almost like like he's just doesn't know how to do that kind like it's well he can't not many people can do it right

anyway he's not directing he's not looking at things and directing them he's like yeah Zack Snider did it well in 300 but in no other of his movies yeah it's well I'm sure it's tough I'm not like I'm sort of sort of authority on it but he got better George Lucas did get better as the movies went on at doing it but still wasn't mind you they've got they've got a good system now for doing virtual environments with this Mandalorian yeah that shit's dope projection screen thing and they've just built one in Sydney actually really let's have just opened up a new Sydney office and they have built one all right we do have some Star Wars news

I just saying that so I can play the jingle star starss star but so they is up to shoot other stuff or is that because they're shooting some Mando stuff there they're just going to use it for no I don't think they're shooting any Mando stuff I just think they know that La is under a lot of pressure oh okay and that uh you know they might entice some of that sweet Hollywood money down under back to Fox Studios again like like the olden days of the Matrix like the old days yeah in Star Wars uh Mando season 2 October so that's when Luke's going to resubscribe to Disney plus the first day it's September already yeah so that's basically right now a month yeah MH basically almost already see it that's pretty good see so this this

didn't get held up by Co but season 3 most likely will be yeah right because they should be shooting now in theory or yeah was it a whole year ago that season 1 came out I guess must I forget when Disney plus started yeah I don't remember must be Matt you had some homework this week to um to watch a film I did did you watch it no you didn't did you no I'd have to go to a theater cuz you don't care enough you just don't care it's not that I I wanted to I was L I was actually going to buy the tickets and then I was torn because I don't really want to go to with I don't want to go to a theater here you don't want a disease exactly so what I mean they in I saw in Singapore just before I came here and they have very very strict rules there was like

half a dozen people in the entire Cinema and they put us in each of the corners I'm not sure that's going to be not near anyone yeah exactly I'm pretty sure the reason that I stopped is cuz I was buying the tickets and it said it came up and it said where do you want to sit and it was just letting me pick all the seats and I'm like this seems like I shouldn't be able to do this and maybe this is not how it's I I was just like you know what I feel weird about it now I know in here you you can still book your seats but it will block stuff out around you yeah okay when you book it then it'll letting me pick everywhere but then I was like later maybe it's just cuz no one else is going it would have let me because yeah maybe once you click on one the ones around it yeah

become anyway to the next person I chickened out maybe I'll go this week but did you watch another movie did I watch another movie Yes Bill and Ted oh I did [ __ ] yeah sorry that was how was that not streaming in Australia watch I watched it literally like an hour after we recorded last week so I forgot uh it's it's it's great it's uh it's another Bill and Ted movie great it's got uh I mean it's it's dumb as all [ __ ] uh the time travel stuff makes no sense but it never did like you know why does a clock still run in sanus when they're traveling through time don't worry about it it just does uh in this there are certain things

that I'm still like what's that line in the first one we like we'll have to remember here to come back here or this won't happen but it did happen that's right well we do remember yeah yeah um remember a trash can that's right remember a trash can then it just falls on his head and like in Fus Journey where it's like denus is like standing there he's like I Leave Myself another gun and it just like into his hand like how the [ __ ] does that work doesn't matter don't worry about it fantastic but there yeah this one there's some stuff that's like I'm like I hope they don't explain this because it's going to it they can't possibly explain this and it's not going to make any sense just just don't have to no and they don't it's great uh it's really

funny there's uh I don't want spoil anything although it's not a huge amount to spoil it's not like a the plot is anything it's the same plot as all the others they're supposed to become the greatest B of the universe and they hav one song that brings everyone together right and so they go traveling well you know the plot from the trailer they they're in their 40s 50s now and they've not become the greatest band in the universe and the universe is falling apart as a result cuz they were supposed to and so they come up with the idea to travel to the Future and steal the song from themselves except every time they travel forward in the future they still haven't written the song yet and so it's funny it's funny as hell and there a great sequence really funny

sequence where they meet themselves as old men and I [ __ ] it I was in tears it's so funny damn want to come out I can't wait to see it but yeah I don't want to go to the movies for it no well it's on on demand like I I just bought it on it not here ah bummer not in Australia what platform did you buy it through I bought it on iTunes iTunes y okay that's tricky no it's really good it's the Grim Reaper back Ted's dad's back it's just oh really yeah yeah everyone's there lots of little in jokes and stuff what about his mom it's your mom dude this I mean this is not a spoiler the the opening scene is at Miss's wedding to Ted's younger brother that's amazing that's so good

that's so and then Bill and Ted are the wedding band it's really good it's just really in the first one I never used to get when I was a kid when they're on stage and Ted's getting um psychoanalyzed by Sigman Freud yeah and then Freud motions for for um to for Bill to come on the couch is like oh no no no I've just got a slight eatable complex and I never got that as a kid but it cut it cuts to his mom in the audience too yeah when he says that um there's uh I don't want I don't want to spoil it I want to spoil it it's really good they have to like they go to therapy with the princesses like it's just really watch it it's a it's like a it's just like a really light-hearted funny positive like it's like another Bill and Ted movie which is just kind of like nice you know

they don't really make movies like this that often anymore and so it's just yeah it's just nice it's very funny stupid don't worry about it too much just put it on have a laugh County Reeves is great well look this was meant to be this was meant to be Star Wars news and you played the jingle already do have some other we do have some other Kiana Reeves news I just wanted to touch on this it's just a bit of followup because last week or recently we we commented that the uh chis have come out and said if you thought the Matrix was about anything else other than becoming a trans person you were wrong yeah um and that was always what it was about and you were meant to get that uh Keanu has come out this week and said well that's news to me so

yeah I mean like I we already said this but I always thought I mean sure yeah you could get that from it but I thought the whole point was that it was just about being an outsider in general and it appealed to us as nerds it appeared to appeared appealed to other people who felt ostracized in some way that was the beauty of it was that it was just this kind of Outsider fantasy uh but yep turns out no it's it is very specific and even yeah my bad yeah fair enough [ __ ] is dope I stop saying dope I don't know why I started saying that cuz you're American saying dope I don't think anyone else here says that you're hip and cool down the 4 you got you got to talk that kind of slang

and you're not allowed to be a communist there are your rights as an American that's right communism is not [Laughter] dope we've got some other uh Star Wars news yeah we do from from our boy John boa who [ __ ] this guy's great he doesn't give a [ __ ] [ __ ] he he does not care if he works for Disney ever ever again he doesn't want to yeah I mean you know a couple of weeks ago he was uh he was tweeting some some pretty hardcore black lives matter stuff and when people were saying like well this is not really family friendly he was like [ __ ] you and your family like I'm [ __ ] Panda to you and your you your kids yeah yeah he was taking a

stand man and now he's he's squarely aim that anger right back at Disney and is saying how dare you put a token black person in your movies put me in all the trailers like I'm a main character and then not give me any lines or any significance in the film whatsoever yeah his it is weird that they sort of moved him over to like a side character in the later on cuz he was great there are theories about that and you know them they were trying to appeal to the you know like the Chinese audience and they Chinese audience doesn't want to see John boaga they made him really small on the posters and that this is just a theory I don't think anyone's ever actually come out because of course they're not going to come out and say yeah actually that is why but I mean

that's one of the theories is that Rogan had Don yen in it for that reason and and then that was the same thing and that's why they had to give him a different love interest in the second one instead of uh Ray cuz you know yeah it's bit weird uh let's see the let's see the him and Finn Love Story yeah Po and Finn I mean yeah him and PO for the for the third one that was certainly the love story I picked up well he he said that himself didn't he at one point I mean he was saying all sorts of [ __ ] because he just likes to be provocative but but he said even himself he thought he was going have a bigger role and then he he seemed to be pretty pissed about um The Last Jedi in particular which is interesting

because the Last Jedi is kind of the the a lot of the more left leaning people kind of champion The Last Jedi as being something new and it brought in like um what's it name Kell R TR all kind of stuff but he seems pretty negative on it like his implication in here is that that's where he kind of got sidelined yeah well I mean you're you're right I mean that does and you know there's a lot of middle-aged women in that movie too more than in the other Star Wars movies so you know that gets a big thumbs up for that from a lot of people but at the same time they pretty much wrote him and the other ethnic minority character into a side plot that had nothing to do with the main film so I can kind of understand why he feels I mean they kind of created this Scooby

gang for uh Force awakens and then they just completely split it up and they said no wh's only wh's only on the main quest people of color riding donkeys go off this side quest that makes no difference to the movie at all yeah yeah yeah he's pretty he's pissed off oh he also so he came out this week people were saying oh yeah JJ Abrams uh you know screwed him over and that kind of stuff and he said no you back off JJ is a [ __ ] Legend and he did his best with the [ __ ] that they gave him and he was very adamant that no no don't blame J did the first one too he was he was essentially the [ __ ] protagonist of the of force yeah that seems to be the implication is that it's not his fault that other people [ __ ] up

the one thing I've never understood about the new Trilogy of Star Wars movies was Disney came out they brought it they went we making a Trilogy and then they didn't work out the entire timeline or anything for all three movies they were all treated as completely separate and yeah and you know why and you know why it's because Kathleen Kennedy is not a creative she's a business woman that's it no it's that she doesn't see the value in things like a like cohesive Universe how much money can you make what what did the last movie make what could it have made more Why didn't like it oh because there was this okay we'll cut that out for the next yeah how can we get the audience in China to do to to get more into this we got to move can I have this guy be as

prominent we got to adjust this and that and then they just yeah it's not about the story anymore it's about the numbers cuz I can understand adjusting stuff and having different directors everything but you would have the basic story The IDE all mapped out well I would have anyway yeah no I think they did I think that she was just willing to take a complete 180 anytime something didn't make as much money as they had projected yeah I think scripts got torn out and thrown in the bin and say what you want about George Lucas and I love that we're [ __ ] hipsters now just defending George Lucas all these years later but he is a businessman too but he's also a creative and so he he he he goes how can I make money with great stories and great characters whereas Kathleen

sure have and I wrote to them because on the one hand I can be fully complimented by the fact that they just copied my commercial shot for shot it's a shame the message is so ordinary and they could have been talking about democracy or more powerful things and they didn't use it so yeah I mean I can't see why they would have put messages about democracy in here it wouldn't have been relevant but no but I can see why he's like okay I feel like my message was Stronger but okay yeah this is very specific yes I mean they they essentially use your ad as a double metaphor one because of the connotation of um Freedom of Information it's actually quite clever when you think of it yeah to say that Apple has

become big brother now when they were yeah apple has become everything they set out to fight against yeah it was IBM in the ' 80s and now it's them yeah which is funny because we always think of Apple and Microsoft as being Rivals but when this come out it was against IBM y yeah Microsoft came later yep well cuz he they whooped in there with IBM yeah yeah [ __ ] that there's a very famous deal that uh that Bill Gates made where he was amazing yeah they were sold um basic the the the programming language to IBM but Microsoft didn't develop basic they bought it from some other company but they they they engineered the deal so that they bought the license to resell it from this other company but they didn't sell the license to resell it to IBM and it's yeah crazy

business deal that literally made Microsoft what they are today without doing any work yeah well different kind of work guess it was three people took some work to come up with the deal I guess so you could argue that that's just good hey man don't work hard at work smarter yeahh yeah really Scott sums up his own opinion I think the animation was terrific the idea was terrific the message was eh I can't imagine rley Scott saying yeah I don't know I'm not sure how to do that in his you know really SC voice all they're really wanting is epic which want more money and they're upset that people are making more money do they just want to take down the giant they just they just want to be David and take down Goliath yeah I think it's worth

like I've been hearing more about it and I I do at first I was kind of like well you're playing in apples you know on Apple Store you kind of got to follow the rules but I have heard you know the 30% is a lot and epic doesn't need the money but if you're a small developer getting that 30% down a bit could be the difference between going out of business and and you know just being sustainable so from that perspective if if epic's doing this to help the small fry well then cool but if it's just because they're looking at the how many more billions do you reckon we could get if we do this lawsuit well then you know yeah we keep an extra 18% of what we're selling yeah so I don't know but I can buy games I'm happy I haven't heard anybody who

thinks that they're actually going to win this so we'll see what happens I I just I don't know how they could win oh the other thing is too I one uh somebody saying this week that Apple kind of has to do this even if they wanted to change the rules because now they can't just come out and say all right fine we'll reduce the percentage cuz that sets a precedent for this being how you get apple to do what you want as well you just do what you want and then yeah so this could be something that happens epic loses and then Apple's like all right but we've heard you and we're just going to reduce that rate a little bit but they're still going to fight because they don't want yeah you lose yeah they're not going to be bullied

into doing it but maybe this will maybe this will get the message across cu 30% number that really came from Steam didn't it 30% came from the music industry music okay yeah and it's actually it's been adopted across various Industries since then it's just the deal that Apple made with with the record labels back when they launched the iTunes Store and there's no reason for it to be 30% it just that's just a [ __ ] number that they came up with and it's yeah and that's that's the other argument is that like why 30% let's [ __ ] talk about this let's like but then Apple wouldn't talk about it so now this has happened so well we're talking about it now yeah yeah it's just an arbitary number

so I played a game this week um because we we reported on a couple of weeks ago um being put on the mandatory reading list in Poland I decided to give um this war of mine a go how is did you learn something great man I I I've been playing this for two days straight now I really love it game or have you sort of died finish no no no I've played three games the first one I abandoned because it was going horribly arai and I wanted to start again with you know a bit more knowledge experience going into the game yeah and um and then I made it to day 23 before uh everyone was dead and um and then today I put on a game and I made it to day 20 um and then uh they run away they run away from my house I had one of my people for those who don't know you are a family or or a

group of strangers trapped in a house in a city that's under siege and you just have to survive you've got to find food you've got to find supplies you've got to make makeshift [ __ ] around the house to try to keep everyone warm and fed and drink clean water one of my family today was pregnant and at one point she's lying on the ground and she's saying to her [ __ ] stomach she's like mommy's really sick but Mommy's going to get better for you and it was like [ __ ] hell I mean it just hits you it hits you right where you live man like [ __ ] did she get better no she didn't in fact she left in the middle of the night I I woke up one morning and she was just gone she just left do you think it was you

said that's very like I I I like the idea that you're [ __ ] stuck in a hotel room and you can't leave play game that's what I'm yeah for some Escape Al I mean it sounds like it's somewhat easier for you to get food and Necessities yes wait how do they clean the room or do they just not clean the room they do not clean the room wow you're responsible for cleaning your own room yeah and um there's a like a little bar fridge and um I don't have dairy right so I I I got myself a little Ted brick of soy milk that is uh in there and the fridge is not big enough for it to stand upright so I had to lay it down the second morning it just slowly leaked overnight all through the fridge all through all my stuff and then

out of the fridge oh no under the fridge everywhere like and I was like this is my problem and it's day two and then your pregnant family member left cuz she was like I'm not with walked out yeah if you can't fing keep milk going in the fridge um I saw a headline that just reminded me of that uh not soy milk specific but uh no no no you'll know what I mean but this is just I just love how sensationalist headlines are these days okay let me read you this this is from the guardian today this is today's Guardian mhm like sending bees to war the deadly truth behind your Arman milk obsession what all right now I don't know what this article is about I'm not going to

read it I use it all the time but yeah I'm not obsessed sending bees to war yeah how many bees have to die for you to [ __ ] have a drink of Armen Milk Man wait why are bees involved I don't know I'm not going to read it I just love the sensationalist headline hell this is remember when they were going on getting angry with us about uh Greek yogurt no no apparent you've just reminded of this and now I feel bad cuz I I eat a lot of mar milk and a lot of Greek yogurt um apparently Greek yogurt the manufacturer thereof produces a lot of waste right and now I'm curious about that there was this whole thing about

how we're going to [ __ ] destroy the planet if you if you don't stop eating Greek yogurt no I love Greek yogurt Matt yeah great I mean non-dairy alternative Greek yogurt but still well I think isn't Greek yogurt one of the one of the low lactose things yeah oh here we go low lactose just doesn't cut it for me anymore when G drained a thin runny waste product known as acid whey is left over okay and a toxic waste from Greek yogurt poses danger to waterways so there you go see that's just as sensationalist as my [ __ ] sending the wall [ __ ] toxic waste don't get Greek on you have you seen the Toxic Avenger yeah fall into a vat of Greek yogurt you've seen Jack Nicholson as the

Joker I was eating and I got some on my face and now I'm idiot I mean 10 out of 10 froming neck down but you know yeah cuz the Greek yogurt's really got a lot of protein in it and I've been working out but my face burnt my lips right off so this war of mine you rate it's good is it yeah very good I don't know how much more of it play though um one it's quite depressing and two it's a bit syy so like once you've played a couple of complete games of it I don't know if you'd want to bother going back to the start again okay yeah and it doesn't really level up I mean basically there's two parts to the game there's doing stuff around the house and there's going raiding at night and um it's like a

Viking game yeah that's right and uh but it's the same stuff you know 20 days in it's still the same type of stuff that I'm finding on my raids I I feel it should be more like uh I can't think of a modern example but like Diablo where you know you you reach further away lands you're getting more exotic weapons MH it's like real life yeah when you're trapped in a war on Country yeah yeah I mean that's obviously why it's it's obvious Sur you get some Epic Loot well I actually was playing a game this week as well I was playing the new Marvel Avengers yeah oh and I finished that today I'm avoiding this game should I not yeah I do not get it it's I was enjoying it at the start you

sort of play as Kamala Khan to start off with she's um Miss Marvel oh yeah and how she got a poers and stuff goes wrong and the story was actually quite enjoyable and then it got to the where it's turning into a Luda shooter so it's just uh hey go do this Mission you going get this material which will help you level up this armor and you get this armor and it's just yeah it's all about just getting new prettier armor and skins and yeah it's now just boring okay it's it's a shame cuz it could have been mean that sounds okay to me to be honest but I don't really want to play a Marvel game I just don't really care yeah that's not not my uh made by Crystal dyamics who they're the ones that made like Tomb Raider games which I really enjoyed they're really

good single player thing very much this is just uh hey go here beat up these people get that I've cynical feeling you know like attempt to apparently it feels like a product that was created to make money like yes wait you're saying that a movie tie in video game was just to make money no I know that sounds ridiculous because they obviously all are but this one feels like it that and that's you know that's not always the case sometimes it's like oh this is kind of fun whereas this one apparently is not fun you can spend more money to go and buy like different outfits for your characters so you have like the different outfits like Thor from Ragnarok and stuff like that and the other thing that's really annoying is the characters don't look like the

characters we know now but they're still wearing the same outfits right and the jump Jets and everything else is sort of the same but their faces aren't and their voices aren't It's s of no it's cuz you'd have to pay those actors you have to pay those but they if they're not going to do that make them look different yeah don't get it I I this I don't know why this got into my head recently but when I was a kid my favorite film for quite a while was romen Hood prince of Thieves right and uh [ __ ] loved it I can't even express how much I loved it I don't know why me too there was this really shitty range of action figures that Kenna put out yes and um I had them I had them too Sher and I had Robin see I had both

Robins yeah right and will Scarlet oh yeah um and they looked nothing like the characters from the films they the faces weren't modeled on the real characters and the clothes were only like marginally similar and for some reason I was just Googling the other day about these old Kenna action figures and I found out that Kenna weren't even planning to do a range of but the movie was just so popular that they quickly acquired the rights and they just pumped out using existing figures from other L that's great so Robin is actually green arrows body from the DC range with um the head of one of the GI Jo's or something like that um frier tuck is the

gmoran guard from Star Wars with someone else's [ __ ] head Masters the Universe head or something like this and they've got them you if you Google it they've got them side by side so you can see where these came from that's [ __ ] great yeah that's great there's a guy have we talked to May mentioned this before at there's a Rhode Island guy he's like a sculptor and he's always at RH Island ComiCon he does this beautiful bus of like horror movie characters these days like like Vincent Price like just these they're really great um forgotten his name but but he has a book with him at the con and if you if you talk with him he'll he'll show you he designed all not all but you look through this book and it's got all his designs of like 80s and '90s

action figures and you're like holy [ __ ] like this guy designed so many [ __ ] toys that you know like those [ __ ] shark men things and the oh yeah the little [ __ ] that's cool just like battle toads things like he just designed like Master Universe figures like you flip through this book and you be like holy [ __ ] this guy designed most of the toys you played with in your childhood yeah yeah wow man I get so nostalgic for that stuff I think I sent you guys an image the other day I realized that um they do a retro Ghostbusters action figure line they're verbatim from the old ones they're exactly the same I want them so badly but I just I just don't have any reason to buy them other than wanting to buy them cuz when I was a kid I only had one and I wanted

to have them all more reason you think you want them you will get them they will arrive you go ha that's cool you'll then put them aside and never think of them again yeah yeah and then two moves from now when they're still in a box unpacked from two moves ago I'll be like should I just put these on eBay yeah or on the foot path yeah what do they have now do people still use eBay what do they have in Australia Luke in Asia there's a lot of online shopping Alternatives I look on eBay from time to time there's a few things um I use a lot of kogan and mighty ape kogan and mighty ape okay mhm eBay is still there I don't really get much off there Amazon's now better in Australia what about for secondhand stuff then that's what if one an old

someone's old record that's still eBay yeah I I learned from uh buying house related things that if you do do a bit of research there are sellers on eBay that like for example I bought um refurbished refurbished chainsaw uh have a good discount from a husana [ __ ] like a refurbishment place on eBay it was like really cheap really good quality so yeah a lot of actual stores guyy Le you do have to do the research cuz eBay does have a lot of garbage but then so does Amazon these days yeah M that and I got uh if you like if you're after like beding like feather down beding right I learned this on Reddit if you go on eBay there are resellers they'll sell like their like

floor model you know like quilts and things like that but they don't no one's ever used them they were in the bag just on the showroom floor but they can't sell them as new because they were on display right and so you can get them for like you know like a quilt a feather down quilts like, you can get it for a couple hundred bck yeah is okay is this interesting to I want to I I want to I want to put a I want I want to find a clip of whatever you talked about first on this podcast in 2011 when we started doing this and then just put that back to back were you just talking about how to get discount quilts yep it's my life now I wouldn't have it any other way but the the the best St you're probably looking at for using is kogan and mighty

I use them the most I used to buy stuff from kogan back know I heard of kogan I've heard of the kogan from Highlander that's that's his online store he sells phones and [ __ ] now it's Clancy BR yeah they're all gray Market phones from memory kogan yeah yeah as in they're the Southeast Asian versions of phones that are cheaper than the Australian ones because of Market CU stuff yeah for yeah for no other reason and they work and they're exactly the same phone and they work yeah yeah well because it's price scaling they can't they can't release the same thing for the same price in all markets yeah and as soon as they release a pixel announced a pixel 5 I'll be buying a pixel 4 you've got them you fooled them you you figured out the

system well I've got a CRA my screen so I need a new phone but I don't they're about to announce the pixel 5 I don't want to pay $1,500 for a phone no but I know the pixel 4S will drop to under ,000 $60 to get the crack repaired just get a new phone just do what they do on YouTube is you get some ramen noodles and you and some superg glue and you can fix anything [Music] apparently what look it up you can use ramen noodles to fix anything noodle fix fixing s with ramen noodle yeah okay it's [ __ ] stupid but you can do it I'm not sure it work on a screen I just but like people fix [ __ ] chunks out of tables and stuff with it you just mix crush up R oh they are too yeah yeah
