you get trophies from um trophies are actually quite easy to get and they are not expensive he say a they're easy to buy no there was a little while ago we had a going away from work someone was leaving so I we all chipped in by present and she doesn't really like a lot of things so we got her a trophy that she could have in the desk at a new work and like a nice looking trophy like laser what did it say oh it said uh to this person for being the best person oh nice and what was the trophy was it classic cup mhm no no it's a bit like the Xbox One I Got and yeah that was like 60 bucks like trophies are not expensive you think they are but most companies give them to themselves as well so you're officially famous now

that's great yes yeah official famous my troph got my jumper I now I'm not paying for Xbox game pass until like 2023 or something ridiculous wow well neither am I but that's cuz I've I've already prepaid for purchased yeah and then and I also now have my second Xbox set up downstairs all right don't brag guys I canceled my game pass this week I canceled it for two reasons number one I don't have an Xbox yeah fair fair um I canceled it for that so we why paid a 15 bucks a month if you can't use it 20 bucks a month but uh I also canceled it because while I like some games very much I don't like a lot of games and I'm more than happy to buy the game I want to play and I really do feel like I spend a lot less than 20 bucks a month on the say three games a year that I

really really get into mhm that's I think that may change once it's like the new Bethesda games start coming out day one and things but how many new Bethesda games are going to come out one and I'll buy it oh there'll be ELD scroll 6 there'll be the new style Spacey one Starfield whatever it is called called Bethesda star spy one they'll make remake Skyrim Again release another Fallout I better not have to pay for Skyrim again you would though oh I I mean I've paid for Skyrim at least two more times than I should have yeah so y so and would probably if they did release like a new even more enhanced one for the new generation consoles I think rain man I if there's

not a mod for rain I'd be very surprised there are a lot of mods do it not rain in Skyrim I never noticed no I think just making it look better oh back backlighting rain yeah I've got the atmospheric mod and it is [ __ ] beautiful and there is definitely rain in that rain Sunshine fog beautiful game all the all the weathers are represent all your favorite weathers together at last so I'm I'm still just shocked cuz there's like a ton of games I want to play on Game Pass so it just confuses me same I don't I you're probably right Dan I think I mean I'm only going to be playing cyberp Punk uh yeah exactly so I mean there was one year where all you played was The Witcher 3 that's right um so I'm not

saying it's and for somebody like Luke like it would be insane not to have this service for me though I think it just didn't add up the numbers didn't add up I'm not convinced all of them were numbers frankly I no I still cuz did you play the new Star Wars Jedi fall in order game oh remember we yeah we all bought that and then and then both of us were like eh nah not for me did just play through on story mode like I told you both no or did you try and play through on normal or hard on normal if you had to just played it as on story mode out that whole Dark Souls feel of it where you have to die and go back and upskill a lot I just couldn't play as a redhead I just couldn't suspend what's wrong with redhead is there a yeah is what what mode gets rid of that yeah I know I

was like [ __ ] where's the [ __ ] character [ __ ] I just can't I can't unless it's a girl in which case okay yeah but they're not real redhe head like the actual red the color red yeah Mara Jade yeah mhm um could have played Carion caran is a good game great I'm sure there's I'm sure there's a dozen games on there that I want to play how many I played that's another story Dishonored to Doom I haven't even played [Laughter] honored L of sports games look honestly repl I just want to I'm not going to go and replay things I want to finish Assassin's Creed Odyssey and then hopefully by then I'll have an Xbox [ __ ] series X and I can play

Assassin's Creed Valhalla and then cyber Punk and then it'll be 2023 I think you're probably going to if you've been I would recommend not going to Valhalla straight after hly i' I would recommend not going to Valhalla it's not it's not it's not as good as for starters you probably won't die in battle so the chances of you going there are very slim yeah no what I mean is you you need a game to cleanse your pallet if you go from one assassin creed to another it's quite bad Tomb Raider as well yeah true cuz I got the series X and I was like oh okay the only game that's actually a series X game as far as I can tell at the moment that I'm vaguely interested in is valhala there's a few like Forza 4 has a series X upgrade and so i'

played that a little bit but I don't know if it's I don't know if that counts as like an actual series X game I imagine it's you know like the first gen of Xbox One games most of them were kind of like they're pretty good but then it wasn't until a few years later that things started to really get good like yeah and I think it's going to be the same here cuz if even if you look at remember like the 360 M there was what GTA 4 looked like to GTA 5 oh yeah like there was a huge jumping graphics and processing power Oblivion to Skyrim on that as well yeah like they look like they were made for different consoles yeah well they figure out over time how to squeeze the most juice out of those

machines this has got a lot of juice in it I'm just glancing over at my series X well time start squeezing it down that squeeze too hard though but yeah I'm going to finish Valla probably straight after this podcast you know what uh so you're enjoying it um I'm enjoying it but I'm going to say Odyssey is better okay I've heard that I mean I believe that because Odyssey is is excellent and it's certainly on another level to all of the other Assassin's Creed games that I've ever played the one big thing that's changed are the side missions m M so now there are sort of for want to remember it anyway I don't quite remember Odyssey too well cuz it's so long ago but now you go to points on the map M and there'll be like a scene playing out and

then you have to basically complete that scene in the surrounding area so it might be hey my husband's gone out hunting and he might be hurt you find him you take him back but it's all done at the same time but you have to listen to what people are saying there's no you accept this Mission and here's a point on the map for you to go you actually listen what're and I'll give you um yeah my pigs run away and you ran off into the woods to the east heed the pig there was a little bit of that in Odyssey because there was that it asked you when you started Odyssey and I think you can change the switch in the settings it says maybe it's just what I've said of done yeah no no no I I think what you're describing sounds like a more extreme version of it because

what it it says do you want Quest basically do you want Quest markers and [ __ ] to appear on the map or do you want the the clues instead there's two modes in Odyssey where one where it says you know it's west of the city west of the city next to a body of water and then you got to look on the map and go it's probably there and then when you get there maybe is it kind of pops in and goes oh there it is maybe is the way I'm playing it but for this like the main missions they're always like here you go and then it'll once you get to the general area it sort of here's patched but the actual side quests they are just there's no indication where you're going or what you're doing you don't even accept the mission or anything you just do it or don't it's it's they're called

a world event do or do not and you do it and then it just goes world event complete and it disappears from the map you know what I'm really looking forward to starting to play which is probably not going to come out for at least a year is stalker 2 really that's my most anticipated game um and the reason it's been on my mind this week is twofold number one is I watched Chernobyl oh ah and that's F I want to go there one day yeah don't go there don't go there yeah you do Matt you'll like it I've seen go there neither of you can go there because I don't want you to get irradiated oh it's fine it's not fine I think I think it's kind of fine now it's more fine than it was the scientists in this fictitious show that I just watched are correct it's not fine and it won't

be for about 100 years so stay away but but they do TS all they're all the time now they do in fact tours have spiked since the show came out um you guys know who wrote this series have we discussed this before on the podcast the series is written by stalker series Craig Mason right no not of the uh Chernobyl series ah yeah it's written by Craig Mason who you may recognize from Raven's quest ah yeah okay yeah yeah yeah as the as the guy who takes over as the tester yeah and his claim to fame before this was that he wrote the two sequels to The Hangover and he wrote the old Way's scary movie scripts right and now he's just like you know what yeah yeah [ __ ] you all I'm going to do uh I'm going to

do a harrowing true story set in the Soviet Union just really shows that he's got Range man he he does this is awesome and there's lines in this there's lines of dialogue that I'm like I think Mason probably ejaculated as he wrote that you know what I mean like orgasmic dialogue hm I've seen the first episode of it and I should watch the rest I had seen the first episode and wasn't necessarily hooked but I'm not sure why because when I went back I watched from the start again and I was hooked and I watched it in about a day and a half I mean there's only six episodes but uh yeah I tell you though there's one thing right so episodes 1 2 and 3 nuclear meltdown everyone knows the story [ __ ] dozens hundreds of people are dying okay that's

fine it's sad but I'm watching I'm okay episode 4 is about what happens to the animals in Chernobyl oh and I couldn't take it I actually fast forwarded it twice two bits I couldn't watch damn yeah they they they they do get a happy ending at the end though right yeah yeah it's just the last five minutes is just them jerking them off yeah yeah it's they go M paror yeah sorry my bad my bad no I don't think I'm going to watch it it's very sounds like you have to pay attention um no not necessarily just watch things blow up really we um accidentally started rewatching Red Dwarf this week again I mean yeah sure I forget the

first season is not the best yeah it picks up right after like the first mind either but it really really gets going Seas two three Etc if you think certain things about it that if you think about it it's I mean it doesn't matter because it's a silly comedy show about people in space you haven't seen Red Dwarf listeners go watch Red Dwarf like I don't I don't know how you've not seen it actually if no one is if a listener out there hasn't seen it Matt describe the plot to them it's set in the future and there's a spaceship like a giant spaceship full of people and then one of them list the character gets put into uh stasis because he brings a cat onto the ship mhm uh which is against quarantine walls they put him in stasis as punishment and then when he wakes up

3 million-ish years later uh there was some kind of reactor leak and everybody died and he's alone on the ship now except that the cat evolved yes and the cat is now humanoid and it's him and then hologram of his old bunk mate Rimer who they've brought back and who he hates Rimer yeah who's a prick yeah and there's a robot but then they all even though they've got this giant ship for the first few things things do mix up later on but then they still just share the same room even though they hate each other which which it's called can't afford more sets Matt ex no no no I know that it just made me laugh Matt two words for you Doctor Who all right remember the early seasons of that and like I said it doesn't matter cuz it's just a funny show but but it's very fun

have you watched the last thing they've done for which was the movie I watched the one is that the the the time travel one there's one where they no no no they go back to England they go to like Manchester no so they did they did that one then they did season 10 11 12 and then 13 instead of it being a a series it was a movie so two-part minseries TV movie I mean maybe so I don't think you've seen it maybe we'll we'll have to check is it the one where guess not well there you go I guess this rewatch is going Tock M I can't remember basically it was like we want to watch something but not something that we have to think about too much mhm and then so that I mean that that certainly is that description yeah and I've seen it that many times I could

probably quote half the shows when when watching them it's one of those ones where uh and this may not be true but it's a great story that apparently the first episode was written on a bar napkin one of those mhm that classic genre it's a great idea for a show and then yeah I mean you could do a serious show about it as well the the thing I love about British Science Fiction is that they don't mind the camp and the comedy they don't like the Americans are always like [ __ ] how do we make this darker but some of them are very they're very clever too the episodes like the one where it's in the first season where they they're traveling faster than the speed of light and so a whole the computer um tells them they're going to start seeing

flashes of the future and so they're like having conversations with the future cell and then the conversations play out again and you see like oh that's what they were actually talking about just all this and then yeah it's very clever oh great now I want to go back and rewatch it it's clever and it's [ __ ] silly as hell that's what I that's what I love about it that also describes also a season that I a series that I watched recently for the first time in years I went through all the black adders oh yeah another classic also matches that exact description silly as hell and very very clever so yes love red dwarf um did you guys watch the Queen's Gambit I'm about halfway through I'm about halfway through as well oh okay

what do you think I see a lot of my self in her oh yeah big part of yourself yeah I spend I spend most of my time trying to figure out if she's hot or not I don't think she is really but I think they want me to think she is no she's even come out and said that her she knows she's not sure if she's hot or not no no she's coming no she's actually s said that she doesn't think she's beautiful enough to be in movies yeah I mean you don't you don't have to be beautiful to be in movies fil more but it is because of that she looks that looks a little different she's certainly interesting looking her eyes are very very far apart yeah that's true but the I mean do you like the show yeah I like it I like it yeah I thought it was really good uh it's broken viewership records for

Netflix so it's very popular which is it seems a weird one to actually break records like it's good but it just TIG King did it I see I agree with you except we're in the pandemic still and Netflix really wanted me to watch it like Netflix insisted I watch this but it did it didn't break doesn't beat Tiger King cuz it's it's their biggest scripted show that's the record breaking oh okay so it's of Netflix biggest script it may still beaten Tiger King I don't know but this is actually just of the shows that they've made this is the highest significant because that's also Strang things right oh yeah good point mhm but everything that I watched it would pop up and go oh if you're like that you're probably like the Queen's Gambit and I was like what the [ __ ] I

don't doesn't matter what you watch and I was like I like the music of queen and I like Gambit from the X-Men yeah but it wasn't until somebody told me oh no that's very good you do want to watch that that I was like oh okay and that person was you mat yeah well it's a great show thank you yeah it is good yeah yeah you're the one that told me to watch it yeah yeah well so uh so yeah hopefully although people are like oh make more like um no don't no you don't have to make more there not everything has to have like sequels while you're at it don't make Chernobyl season 2 I'm just putting that out there as well it's okay to just make a great series and then just leave yeah you can have a a complete story that just wraps itself up and then you don't have to go and ruin

it by trying to make more of it yeah don't make a sequel of this one go and make more norsman or yes give give a lot of money to the person who wrote the Queen's Gambit and say what else he can you come up with yeah make something else yeah well he wrote this a long time ago didn't he I don't know like this based off a book from the 60s I thought oh okay that might be true I could be wrong I've done zero research as usual so have no idea zero research is what we're about on this podcast if anyone's expecting anything else um it was real sorry I was off by 20 years it published in first published in ' 83 okay we've been off by more so never mind so don't beat yourself certainly not the most ill-informed we' ever been um but also the author I don't

think we can give him more money and ask him to write more cuz he died in ' 84 okay he wrote he wrote the Queen's Gambit TV show for Netflix in 1984 and then killed himself that's [ __ ] foren thinking is it yeah and he is geek of the week he's not there's another geek of the week and you know it but I don't I don't want to accept it we'll get to that I I learned something about uh about a character I feel like I I knew a different story of this but I've learned this week the true story of how guy brush through wood got his name and just something to do with a paintbrush the originally before they had a name for him they were just calling him guyy as in the guy from the right main character the guy and then the guy does

this yes and then when they were doing the art for it Steve pel the guy who did the art would export them the the artwork from um daint which is an old uh you know drawing program uh and those the the kind of the files were called brushes and so he would export files called guy brush and send those over to um Ron Gilbert and then over time they just started calling him guy brush and fantastic then they were like well [ __ ] it his name's Guy brush so that's that's literally just that's just how he got his name didn't I yout to come up with a with a name or anything like that it's just yeah I mean and it explains why there's no other guy brushes hanging around yeah right I don't know if you recall Matt but guy brush threp put had something to do with

you and I becoming friends cuz of my fan fiction that came later and that cemented you as you know like as a really special part of my life but um I feel like we met at the Henry Lawson club we did we met then but we didn't really like I don't think I would been I was probably way too drunk to have a conversation like a normal person yeah um then the next time I met you after that well you were with Gordon right and I knew Gordon superficially mhm but in between the last time I'd met him he had grown himself a ponytail oh sure right and uh you and I were just standing off to the side at somewhere something some party or something and I saw Gordon's ponytail and I said with that point

ponytail Gordon looks like guy brush Three Wood right and you looked at me like oh you know about guy brush Three Wood eh all right you know about gu all right we can be friends yeah like this guy and that's how easy it is yeah hey listeners if you don't know who guy brush 3PO is cuz I didn't explain who guy brush threo was when I toldra about him yeah I feel like if you don't mean he's a guy we went to school with that's how he got his name Ron Gilbert named him Ron Gilbert is his dad if you don't know who guy brush 3PO is Google it and then and then play the game mate I mean if that's all we got if that's all we're going to do to explain things we could just say that about every geek of the week this week [ __ ] Google it we and we used to take great

pains to try and give context for things well actually that's not true for a long time we didn't and people said you talking about give Contex people like you you I don't know what the [ __ ] you guys were talking about this week and we go okay we've gone back to cuz we wouldn't even say it we'd just be like hey did you see the oh yeah I saw that oh yeah and then we just launch into it like everyone knew what we were talking about can you believe when the thing happened no I couldn't speaking of you see Jean guy the new antagonist in the Mandan I I had to look really closely before I saw him I must admit how closely are people looking at very close had a show they're watching people were tweeting it as if they were just

and like as if they were watching the show and then they just saw it and then quickly snapped a pick and then tweeted it and I was like well you obviously rewound it to get that pick like you stopped watching in the show to take re how old are you Matt yeah they sat there and watched in real time as went backwards I did not see him when I was watching that episode even with some of the pictures that people I was looking at I still couldn't see him once again no context listeners oh yeah there was a crew member in the background of a shot of this week's Mandalorian if you watched it in the first couple of days you would have seen him if you watch it now he's been removed he's gone yeah you might not have noticed him CU we didn't but

some people did and then you could have gone back and seen that he was there but not anymore he's gone he's been fired took him yeah took him out back and shot yeah yeah I he's our geek of the week if you were Dave Fon right or even John favro and you were just finished you just finished uploading episode 5 season two mandal you think Fabro just sits there uploads the Netflix week by week whatever happens right delivering it on a [ __ ] beta Max tape I don't know um patting each other on the back going there is so much to talk about in this week's episode I mean we have we have dropped [ __ ] there's another we're not supposed to talk about the new episode

oh it's too soon I need to Grand by the way he is very Grand and then everyone's talking about Jean's guy yeah Jean guy I ass that yeah yeah that's where I was going yeah well actually you know what I I mean we won't spoil things uh but I didn't notice much chitchat I thought I had had something spoiled for the latest episode and I guess technically I did but there was a lot in this episode and not a lot of it was spoiled so I was pretty impressed yeah me too me too I read something I was like God damn it any point watching this now oh yeah yeah yeah we've got our tradition with Mandalorian now is that we watch it Saturday morning when we wake up and yep we like that means it comes out Thursday night here so there's like a whole day

and a bit like a day and a half where I could be spoiled you know what I mean I'm exposing myself to to spoilers by being on the internet and surprisingly like I don't know whether they social media is taking steps to suppress spoilers now or something but there's like there's pretty I guarantee you they're not Matt there are things in the latest episode of Mandalorian that I'm like how the [ __ ] was nobody talking about this all week so well I tell you what you could beep out what I said then so that so that nothing I say I'm not sure it's going to matter too much but but I can you if you want yeah I mean you didn't you didn't say what the name was no but I did say someone else's

name people people AR going to know who that is that's that's the other thing although Matt we know who he is from a completely different [ __ ] set of things yeah I'm trying to be F him but the way we know him is not canon yeah no I know they brought him back in a different way what I don't like again we're not going to talk about this no spoilers the implications in this week's episode tie a little too closely to the prequels yeah I'm hoping that what they did this week is just like I liked it I really enjoyed the episode um but I hope it was just like a here's a little there's a little taste of that and then maybe we'll dip back into that you know sometime in the future in future season a little bit but

I don't want it to be all about that stuff all the time yeah because without giving anything away what I love about the Mandalorian is sure there's a couple of Easter eggs in there here and there but mostly it is a completely independent story yeah it's not character I'm [ __ ] sick of seeing on screen yeah it is not the Clone Wars 2 yes I'm still just very confused by one thing the Mandalorian is I don't know who the Jedi are or what they do or anything like this he was alive when the Jedi were around fighting a [ __ ] War who who were the who were the really good soldiers in the Gulf War I don't think any of them had superpowers Dan no if they had superpowers if you hate the troops that's for another podcast all right you can do

multiple we hate the troops GM later like he doesn't know what the force is I find that odd I think it's supposed to be that these guys are so out of Rim that yeah Fair okay that the kind of like the small Gatherings on corusant that maybe seemed like a big deal to us who only focused on that little story it's a big Galaxy out there of people that weren't even affected by that and I suppose in the even in the prime of the Jedi those um racist aliens were like have you ever encountered the Jedi before and and shortly after the the prime of the Jedi you still have [ __ ] high ranking Generals in the Imperial Army scoffing at Darth Vader and calling it an an religion yeah okay okay it's I think it' be like if I

started saying I was a druid you guys would be like all right fine a druid good on you until you started choking people out with with magic powers and I'll be like tell me more about druidism Dan that's right I'm just not doors have you given any thought to druidism druidism druidry druidry but the other thing I fun about we about this last episode which we're not going to talk about is I spend a lot of time talking about nothing going I didn't really like it I don't know I loved it I thought it was really good I was really surprised when you said you didn't like it and I thought maybe you were joking Luke but you really didn't like it no I really didn't like this one okay and I think I think it is because it ties in a lot closely with the pre

don't get me wrong Luke I [ __ ] hated that I hated that and I don't particularly like I thought it was well done I thought it here's what I do like about it right I mean for starter Mandalorian switches between a Weston and a Samurai movie and this one was a Samurai movie for sure yeah absolutely so [ __ ] Samurai um well that and there were bits of it that were very like uh very you know Sergio Leon like the the shootout type stuff I think it was kind of a bit of both in this episode even yeah but don't forget that Akira kurasawa ripped off Leon's movies to make his Samurai movies so it's almost like they're doing homage of him doing an homage of him and then George Lucas ripped off Kira

sour Star Wars is just golden Fortress again yeah yeah and [ __ ] filon and um Fabro are just [ __ ] jacking each other off just going the circle is complete quite sad that there's only three more episodes now don't say that [ __ ] I don't want to know that I got say filon is like got having gone from cuz he talks on the chef show about how he was doing um 2D animation and he just was like like they were looking for someone to do wait he got no he got a phone call from somebody who said George Lucas would like to meet you and he was like oh yeah sure ready would yeah who is this and they're like no no no George luas would like to have a word with you he's like oh yeah sure I'll come right down yeah yeah whatever and then I said it like you said five minutes of them

going no I'm [ __ ] serious George L he was like okay yep yep yep and so he went in and they met and he said like nothing's going to come of this like I'm not like George is like are we're doing a 3D version of the Clone Wars and blah blah and he was like sure and he was like throwing ideas at him cuz he knows [ __ ] tons about Star Wars and then he was chatting with George and then he said he left and he was like well that was wonderful like what a great experience that will probably go nowhere but I'm really glad I did that and then apparently George's assistant opened the door and said yeah you you're hired and he was like what wow what and then he did Clone Wars he learned how to do 3D stuff doing that yeah and then now favro comes to him and says we're doing a live

action one and you know do you want to direct some episode he's like I don't know how to do that like this is also this is going to go nowhere and now he's like that episode was [ __ ] fantastic like visually conceptually everything like that's what I love about it when when you look I mean I love Star Wars don't get me wrong the old Star Wars but when you look at Ralph mcc's conceptual art for it you're like well it doesn't look like this you know right this does this show looks like a [ __ ] painting yeah so Dave Fon my [ __ ] hat is off to you mate you are [ __ ] great yeah except don't put any more stuff from your old kids cartoon in this don't do it I love just a little details though this is two weeks ago we can talk about

Katie sack off right yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yep just when he's he finally thinks he's found other men Mandalorian and he's like and then they just take their helmets off and he's like oh what the [ __ ] and they're like no mate we are the mandalorians you're some other thing yeah you're an a cult so I like interesting I wanted to ask you about that Luke does that kind of um I guess uh sync up with what you thought you knew about the mandalorians these days cuz this whole taking your helmet off thing was was like that was a new thing to me so the most I've most experience I've had with mandans was a set of novels and a wild drunken KN back in the I was married to one in the '90s that's it and it was about Mandalorian being hired to train the clone troopers

oh yeah okay don't you just need to train one clone trooper and then clone him yeah and then just clone him train him first these wasting money then him they lost the yeah no they if you remember even in the movie you saw them different ages and growing up they were just yeah yeah but that's yeah and M day had the helmets off half the time mhm right yeah I think that was something that was coming here that's why cuz D Jango Fett was taking his helmet off yeah so mate his head was in it Matt he was beheaded yeah no but he's chatting with f never did I I wonder whether when you look at that scene and he picks up that helmet it's like is there a head in there or are you

literally just holding the helmet I think I think you can see in the shadow of it falling out when Ma Wu cuts it off and I think I think I read a thing that said that that's intent that George Lucas intentionally was like the head's not in there other I guarantee it they went back and added that because the executives watching it are going is that little boy holding his seven head George was like maybe it's a bit intense yeah what if he says what the when he picks it up uh yeah the I going to say oh yeah gu Katie sackoff is playing the character that she also played in The Clone Wars

week yeah he's gone David PR has Vader finally died there's a lot of people who have portrayed Darth Vader I mean Darth vad is like the puppet of Jaba the heart you know there's one guy doing the eyes there one guy wiggling the arms and there's one guy in the tail doing the little movements on the tail Darth vad well even they had like those actually like three different I think there was like three actors even in the first Star Wars movie like one did the fight scen one did just the walking David PR is famously known as the guy who did all of it the body even though he didn't he certainly wanted people to know that he was he was the main guy that did he certainly if you listen to him was led

to believe him and no other man was the actor portraying Darth Vader yeah he's died was he 85 I think or something he was aged when he passed away this week which I don't know for some reason I just feel like he he should have been older I agree yeah I agree I thought he was older I met David prow when I was a young lad in England he was the Green Cross man I don't remember it uh at all but I do have a little little badge that he gave me somewhere that is magnificent in fact I probably don't have it anymore CU I'm in a different country now but well maybe David PR is known to us and to nerds throughout the world as Darth

Vader yes yeah but he is a bodybuilder and he is very prolific in the bodybuilding industry mhm he plays the hunky dude in several other movies including Stanley Cub's A Clockwork Orange where he plays the musly guy yeah yeah so he did other stuff but he's definitely he did do other Darth Vader Darth Vader and he used to sign his name David prous is Darth Vader he did yeah yeah in fact right up until the end I assume because he was adamant he had very well publicized falling out with George Lucas in uh in recent years because George was like stop telling people that you are Darth Vader and he was like I will not I will not stop telling people that yeah there was a documentary about him um I think

2015 and about that sort of Fallout and the fact that he didn't get to be Darth Vader when the mask came off don't watch it not good just do not watch it um wanting to film a star war scene and try to turn out this's lifelong dream to film this and we asked Lucas film if we could do it and they said no what meanies they are like do do they recreate the scene where instead of Sebastian Shaw it's it's David PR oh wow yes and they they actually asked Lucas Lucas fil like can we actually film this and show it have gone no yeah and it's funny because Lucas have actually always been very very open about fan films yeah just not this one well this I think it's different cuz it's not a fan film this is something that they're

going out to sell so can I see like if I I want to go into YouTube right now and look at this does this exist um well no cuz you only see the sort of you don't see the film playing out but you hear it but the documentary is called I am your father father words are they no but yeah to me it was just it was more about the the director trying to get to film of Star Wars scene and yeah some of it was actually quite interesting when it wasn't about that and the fact that cuz it was David PR was the one who in the magazine came out or new said yeah I'm Dar I'm Luke's father before that's right Empire came out yeah there's an old article where he spoiled a whole bunch of [ __ ] yes and

it's but evidently they go through and they worked out no he didn't actually say that ah and that was just confusion and yeah so it is interesting for parts of it but yeah annoys me and I'll never watch it Luke I've I've just gone on to YouTube to try and find the clip that you just mentioned and you're quite right I don't think it exists although listeners please write in because I'm I feel like it would have been passed around if and would someone would have edited it into a version of Return of the Jedi 100% yeah I think if they had have filmed that they probably would have faced legal cuz he did ask so then if they did film it and it got leaked they'd probably be I'm surprised nobody's deep faked it yet to be honest what I did find though Mt and you

mentioned this in a throwaway comment I ignored it although I I did have follow-up questions and and now I've got even more that I've seen it can you tell us what Green Cross is please oh um so it's like well I'm going to have to Google a little bit okay David PR Green Cross code man yeah um a TV show I guess Green Cross a brand created by the National Road Safety Committee to raise awareness of pedestrian Road Safety in the United Kingdom so so it's it's David prow wearing essentially it's like Green Lantern except it's green Crossman yes costume uh telling kids when it's safe to cross the road yeah don't don't cross you know look both ways don't cross when

need to ride all right all right I'm going to make a note of that mhm uh I watched something finally last night and I watched I watched a pal Drome oh wow I watched tenant you watched 1991 how was it I here's the thing I know it's been out it's been out for for a while now but has enough have enough people seen it that I can freely talk about it I don't want to I don't want to upet anybody cuz technically it's not out and available yet I I well you can say if you're liked it I I liked it a lot yeah I really liked good good good good good I really liked it I need to watch it again because we're watching it and Jenna was like what's the deal with I was like I'm

not sure and I'm not going to figure it out on this watch so I'm I'll let you know after I watch it again like I'm not going to figure that out before the end of the movie I guarantee same thing happened to me cuz H and I saw it at the same time but in two different countries you were watching it forwards and she was watching it backwards yeah oh man imagine that yeah we were in different time zones but we did watch it we did make sure we watch it at the the same time but um she rang me straight after and she was like did you understand that I'm like no but understanding it is not the point yeah I I understood enough of it to kind of follow what was going on but there were bits where like I I feel like it's like Interstellar where Interstellar I I actually didn't like

Interstellar as much the first time on on a rewatch I liked it more because I'm like oh they did set that stuff up a bit and I got more from it the second time this I I I really liked it and I feel like I probably will end up loving it after I watch it again because there are things that I figured out ahead of time and things that I didn't yes agree so you like oh okay I figured this out Christopher Nolan all right all right yeah he's like even those things paid off pretty well you can think about that all you want mate I'm gonna [ __ ] get you later yeah exactly this is a lot of I mean primer meets braid primer if they were actually doing

stuff when they were going backwards yes that's right instead of just Prim they're in in the Box yeah in this they're out they're doing stuff and interacting with the world and you see [ __ ] firing bullets places so that when somebody gets there that bullet will go through them it's [ __ ] insane and they yeah you like you see something you just you're watching it and then you go that's a bit weird what was that and then and then later on it you see like like like the you know it's a it's a palindrome but it [ __ ] is because you basically see scenes twice and then you go oh that's what that is [ __ ] awesome giving anything away do you subscribe to the fatherson hypothesis the fatherson hypothesis I'm

uh Inception was pretentiously ambiguous you are not going to like this [ __ ] man this is the most Christopher Nola movie there are there's literally bits where where it's like I we're going to explain that his two sentences did you were you listening to the dialogue that was very low under the music that's very loud yeah if you didn't because if you didn't hear that sentence he said you're not going understand this bit yeah yeah I I I'm I don't like him as a director really what about his Batman do you like his Batman I I saw the second one and the last one saw them once they were okay we talked about the fact that you haven't seen Batman Begins [ __ ] off oh I know it's so weird I still haven't seen Batman

if you like Batman at all you owe it to yourself to watch Batman Begins yeah Batman Begins is great yeah I S sort of the other two not not the same probably the same they're not the same see now I want Luke to watch tenant really badly May fine I I will watch tenant and we'll see what happens all right I almost okay Matt would you be open to this we've been talking about this for years we watch tenet together and we record a commentary as we go okay and Luke can ask any questions or make any comments that he wants throughout the film that's the thing though that's it's difficult to this there's no time to stop and have a chat about what's going on in this movie because like there are a couple things where we would like if

that it's [ __ ] great it is delicious mate but you know you know in U Interstellar did this too you know that scene in interstellar where they're talking they're having a conversation about how time works on all the planets and if you missed it you missed it you're not going to know you're not going to understand know why one of them now old man exactly imagine that times a thousand and that's this [ __ ] movie and not only that they do explain it but they don't let you absorb the math enough to really orientate yourself within the time space continuum they don't explain it explain it they just say it and then that's got to be good enough for you and there's all this sub subliminal stuff going on like um what's your mate Matt Han Zimmer

deciding that every beat is a year you know he he didn't do this one by the way oh who is oh this Oh you mean yeah yeah yeah yeah Oh you mean interstella yeah yeah yeah interstella like that's what I mean like there's just all these layers of like things to tell you that time is passing but if you missed the metric you're [ __ ] yes and with this it's like there's a lot you need to know if you're actually going to piece this all together and yeah like I said you it Demands a rewatch which I'm fine with but I can see some people wouldn't be fine with it I was explain it to you like some movies do I didn't know you were either going to say this was your favorite Christopher Nolan movie or you were going to say no he's gone too far I hate

it I wasn't sure which where you want to go I don't want my hand held completely but I also don't want it to be something where I I shouldn't have to watch a movie multiple times to understand it yeah how many times have you seen Spies Like Us I understood that the very first time you love watching movies multiple times [ __ ] you I feel like I don't feel like I I have to watch it again I want to because I want to understand it but I don't I mean I guess you wouldn't have to because even I need to rewatch even just the [ __ ] opening scene with what I know now is going I'm sure I'm going to get way more out of it like just the opening scene of this movie tenant once you know what's going on I I feel like I'm going to watch that again and be like oh okay like it's just

after this conversation I know what I'm going to watch next straight after this podcast begins Stripes I think you're going to see Spies Like Us if you're going to watch an old lady's spy movie at least watch top secret with Val Kilmer that is you've seen that right Luke top secret I don't think I have okay forget Stripes no no don't forget Stripes but certainly forget Spies Like Us top secret you will thank me okay when when I'm out picking up my copy of tenant I'll pick up that as well when you add Blockbuster one other thing I'll say about this it had a lot less action than I was expecting it's actually not that action heavy I think unless I'm remembering it wrong it's a lot of cool

[ __ ] but not a lot of you know like um you know incept has like a lot of set pieces this has but it's not not like not in the same way I don't I mean I felt there's no um I guess there's no hallway fight scene that just is just like [ __ ] BL your mind it's more like subtle stuff maybe I want to talk but it's it's all spoilers okay later okay oh I I don't say I'm just going to say there's one fight that happens twice yes yes that that actually that's the bit when I was like actually out loud going a like yeah yeah well done Christopher no basically standing up and applauding in the cinema yeah like [ __ ] man all

right I wonder if that's that's the thing that he made the movie to do yes yes like he was just like saying to his brother like mate how about this yeah yeah this yeah this is even nonlinear for you mate yeah anyway great movie recommend it who has been playing Civ 6 me so you were talking about it right yeah and I I was telling you how much I don't like it no I know I know I know and then I was like I want I want to try and like it Dan's been talking about it I'm curious so I watched a couple of Let's Plays mhm while I was on the treadmill while I was on the treadmill yeah yeah yeah okay okay Tre cuz I'm

just going that would be one of the most boring let's plays ever SI no not not when you're trying to learn the game because the thing with Civ is right I've played Civ except they change things all the time in each game and I don't know I actually don't know what the [ __ ] difference is between Civ five and six well not all the differences you know what I'm saying and there are quite a lot of so I'm probably I'm probably playing Civ 6 wrong is what I was thinking and I was there's stuff about it that I was like oh [ __ ] I didn't even know that so I watched these Let's Plays it is very complex some of the stuff with diplomacy TR it is and if it's completely different to the last one that you played that was complex it can be confusing cuz I haven't read the

manuals or anything I just load up the game and I'm like oh yeah let's just do the same thing I usually do in Civ and which is is wrong now um so I watched a couple Let's Plays and then I I've been yeah I've been playing on my iPad and I really like it okay that's good I'm glad you do I know you don't but uh been I've been enjoying it look you can't say I didn't try man like I really gave this game a go what what is it that you don't like about it if you can if you can put it into words it's not that I it's not that I don't like it okay I can put it into words Luke you said it it's a complex game that's fine I think it's too complex I I think I think always because you get up to a stage where it's just oh just one more turn

just one more finish this war it's come up yeah there's a game I play came up you are victorious so I've won but you still can keep playing and I just that's the worst function you want to keep playing yeah sure [ __ ] it now there's no end no there's no reason to keep playing it's just like real life yeah I I I did another play through of well not play through I I I put another game on of uh this war of mine because I find this I find that game very rewarding whever you're doing well but it is once you start not doing well you may as well just turn it off yeah it go it goes downhill very quick man I was I was doing great I had three people we had worked out systems one was great at bartering one was great at um one had

like like like pack for the Scavenging and one was great at building in the house and everyone was doing their bit and then one got shot and died MH and then that's it I can't I can't play anymore the hardest part for me in that game was working out that not everyone out there is going to try and kill me you can talk but see that's what I remembered right I remembered you saying that the last playthrough I did when I was in the the supermarket and I heard guys in the Next Room and I remember you going not everyone kills you and I was like you know what I can go in there I can just start looting my I'm dead I have been shot in the [ __ ] face why not everyone there are still some people and

it's a bit luck of the draw mhm it it is the it is the modern the 2020 equivalent of dying of dentry in the Oregon tra and it is demoralizing when you start to lose in that game it's not just like any a normal game where you get a bit sad because it's like I'm not going to win the game it's like [ __ ] like oh you [ __ ] starved to death oh you like those kids were they dead now as well that's right they had to eat their dog now they've died whose baby died and it was like [ __ ] I just can't do this so so dire why you hate me game why do you hate me so much why am I playing this yeah

as you're booting it back up why am I still playing this try again why have I installed the little ones DLC say [ __ ] I didn't do that I'm you you have that right Luke yes is is that just the same except it's just kids oh no no it just being that that came I never played a game with the kids in it okay cuz it's just know how you just start up random and yeah they just never rocked up in any of the games where I would have ended up killing them oh they would not have survived no I would have got rid of them very quickly yeah I mean just the might be able to sell them someone who is wounded and you've only got enough food for two and you're like should we just not give this guy any food is it better that he just dies and you're like why am I playing

this game I'm dering no enjoyment from this but then it also it's the whole idea is just to make you think cuz what the what you're playing that game and go through is people actually experience that makes it worse not better yeah I know brutal yeah whereas I'm wor we're worried about where to put my second Xbox yeah well I mean this is this is already on social media so I'm going to announce it on the podcast I suppose but uh ooh drum roll yeah so I I wonder if my opinion of things like the little ones is going to change when I have a little one cuz we're having a baby yeah there's whole category of jokes we've loved to make for the last 20 years that I think is just off the cards now it's just it's just off well I mean at the moment I still think it's funny I guess
