The Seatrical Cut: Zack Snyder's Justice League & Disco Elysium Ban

I'm G to put this out there has anyone been talking about the ozone layer welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy I remember when we were in school people were talking about it all the time I've not heard anyone mention the O layer in like 5 years I think we solved that I think we fixed it cuz we all stopped using chlorocarbons right M mhm mhm but did it grow back or I think McDonald's stopped serving cheeseburgers in polystyrene non-biodegradable containers and abely it fixed itself which is good cuz it was right above us as far as I know but climate change is still a problem but I thought that had

something to do with the ozone layer I think the cows were fighting uh because we were feeding them poyene and spraying them with chlorocarbons and so now have stopped to all of them oh man I sprayed so many cows with CFCs you know I read a study this week that says what we should actually be feeding cows as seaweed they natural food yeah it's got It's got all the nutrition of grass but it doesn't doesn't build up the same gases that grass is that true okay all right I mean the cows like seaweed though not as far as I know man I'm okay for cows to continue to live it's pandas and koalas that should go oh pandas and koalas yeah they got something against koalas now as well Luke I seem to recall you having a discussion with no one

other than Kevin Smith film director about the time you rescued a koala from a water that's true well Matt the story is true what happened was not true that's not a joke listeners he did talk to Kevin Smith about this no koala what like pis they eat something that's so unnal that it's they have to eat a lot of it and KOA is the same they only eat eucalyptus leaves which is terrible diet and cous it's a terrible diet for you it's it's what they eat Luke I've I've been told by sources close to you that you eat KFC for lunch every day so I think that that is such a lie anyone who's I know now you eat Su Lun every day I have sushi every day I know I know

but that's new that is a new thing there was a period where I ate KFC for lunch every day I just got really into Works burgers and it was it only when mutual friend of ours Paul who I used to work with told me Matt you're starting to look like a Works burger that I did something about it every now and again I get that craving for KFC you know that smell you you smell I need KFC and then you eat it and then you instantly feel sick after it it's called addiction that happened to me earlier in the week m [Laughter] I did the update so maybe my Yeti stopped working okay oh yeah listeners you may have noticed last week Dan's audio sounded a little different yeah it

wasn't that I was phoning in as a special guest although uh that's kind of how it sounded but hopefully I sound okay this week yeah so I just finished watching something okay what did you watch I just watched 4 hours of a movie that made no sense to me at all look before any of us talk about this and I assume you're talking about Z Snider's Justice League in the past we've been known to do entire episodes on Batman movies sure as soon as they come out yeah we did a special Batman versus Superman I wonder if we've got an entire episode's worth of uh stuff to say about this I doubt it I'd be very surprised I've got notes but I don't know that it's going to take me an hour to get through them okay well you you're probably going to get sick of me talking

after about 10 minutes you've got four hours was Matt go I watched it and it didn't feel like one movie or one story it really did feel like it chopped and changed it felt like it was maybe three movies put together to make one that makes sense it did have a pretty good TW movie split it could have been two I think I think possibly there was a plan at some point to make it two movies cuz it seemed like you know up until the end of Stephen wolf and the second movie is the introduction of dark side yeah cuz it was like oh his three act and here's another three act at the end so I was like okay and then three more endings yeah okay the endings I actually what the original one was forget what the original movie was but they they

fleshed out cyborg more didn't they oh [ __ ] yeah oh man yeah like it actually explained who he was I don't even know why they bothered including Cyborg and the theatric theatrical cut that that was me saying cinematic cut and Theatrical cut together that's the verion they only screen in Seattle the Seattle cut yeah in the 2017 cut I mean he was he was a sidelined character in this he was basically the protagonist yeah that was actually most of the stuff I really liked about this version was the character stuff I feel like it really benefited from that um like actually got to know them this time instead of just and here's the flash everybody had something to do guys I I'll say this but before we go into what

we liked and didn't like I I have to say and I want to get this out before either of you give a blanket statement I really enjoyed this I watched this as one movie really watched 4 hours all the way through it's not a great movie by any means but this is the standard we should expect from a superhero epic not the 2017 cinematic Seattle release if this is what had come out back then we would have had a completely different experience and it's not without its flaws I would not have but I I enjoyed every minute of it I also called [ __ ] that it was the plan all along was a 4our cut of a movie no that's definitely not not the plan even he there's a behind the scenes video they put out where he said he said basically he had no time restriction so he was

like [ __ ] all right let's just get everything every idea that I had and we'll put it out there so that everyone the fans can see no time restrictions [ __ ] it the villagers sing a song I the painting of the movie kept changing a lot like it was very very slow and a lot of pointless stuff you know what let's watch the whole ceremony that the Amazon performed before I shoot this Arrow 10 minutes yeah let's watch them but how did they get the arrow there did they bring it out in a box we'll show us the [ __ ] box how did they make the Box let's watch that as well um but who did they used to know let's show them fighting alongside people who aren't part of this movie I I think he still just misses the point it wasn't fun that's what I want

for my superhero movies I want fun oh I don't know man I I had a lot of fun with this no see but that's the problem with the 2017 cut they tried to make it too much fun yeah they put all the silly jokes Batman's making all his quips out of character yeah I yeah you're right I watched some a video that showed like what was not in this version versus cuz I hadn't watched the the old the Seattle cut in a while yeah I didn't get around I plan to uh and I was like oh okay a lot of that really awful stuff the the the bad jokes was new but then there were a few good things that I liked in the in the theatrical version that weren't in this such as uh well here's the that's the thing they removed a lot of the Zack SN doesn't care about civilians right and there's none of that

in this like the whole end sequence in the theatrical version there was this Russian family that was in danger oh yeah I forgot about them not even [ __ ] mentioned in this are no civilians at all in this movie as far as I can tell it's literally EX for the villagers who sing except for those guys yeah and and sniff jumpers that are discarded why does that guy even own jumpers honestly every time he gets back in the water he throws away a jum but I also got I got did get confused about the the when the you we first meet The Flash and he's going to that job interview and he's looking at the girl and necessary but I thought it was a we never see her again it was a cool scene it's it's called save the cat Blake Snider no relation um who's a film

theorist has a um an essay on film structure called save the cat and it's basically your hero has to save a cat in the First Act for you to know uh that they're the hero right and that was uh that was him saving the cat or in this case saving a saving a girl I think he was trying to get laid oh definitely he was yeah well also I guess CU Ezra Miller is a homosexual and they were like we need audiences to know that um if he was going to bang anyone it would be a a fale was that incident where he beat up a woman so it's like we should probably show him not doing that yeah yeah but I think you know just just as a little wink and Nod to uh let the audience know he's gay before he saved her he quickly just sausage yeah I I look I found this movie fine

it's not I mean I would I'm not going to watch it again I found the no no no neither the plot was pretty all over the place yeah it was not particularly interesting and it was I mean it was fairly incomprehensible although I think the fact that I'd seen the theatrical cut helped with that cuz I was able to like oh yeah okay had three more boxes yeah all that it's like [ __ ] but then they got this the epilog where it's gone to the Future and then that's setting up to go to the P that sort of made no sense in this car we can have a whole separate conversation about that well that was all new right that was him putting just putting it all out there on the table right cuz he's not going to do anymore it's this and in Batman v Superman where there was also that nightmare future

they were both dream sequences you saw Bruce Wayne wake up yeah and it was well the whole it's all to tie in that thing where the flash says Lois is the key right yeahh and in this he goes they're talking about that cuz I mean that just got abandoned in the theatrical cut but never came up again in this he says he said oh I in the SN cut he says oh I had a vision of of I think it was him the Flash and he told me Lois was the key and I think it's Diana says Oh you mean like cuz you know cuz she come Superman down and he goes no I think it's more than that but it's not more than that that's literally what it is it's just no no no but it's not it's not because Barry Allen future Barry Allen with a beard says Lois is the key so that's way after so he's talking about when

Superman's evil in the future the reason Superman's evil in the future is because Lois died and never stopped him from being evil so it is that is exactly what it is that's yeah but also we don't really know that story line at all though because it's also but also it's a dream sequence it's kind of a mess it's not part of the main narrative good point the other shoehorned thing in this one which I didn't dislike but it was very shoehorned was Martian Manhunter yes that was so weird right because you had this really nice scene with and Martha and then it wasn't even marur so I was like wait a minute and and if you remember Matt if you watched the the old one you you'd know that replaces a scene a really weird and awkwardly paced scene at the Daily Planet and it was a lovely

scene no not Martha [ __ ] Martian Man Hunter in dis because it it undermines that whole scene because it's like them connecting like over the death of [ __ ] Clark Kent and then it turns out it's not it's not actually his mom at all it's just [ __ ] why is he there why is he there at all yeah there should be a scene where they go back to the end to um to pay off the farm and she's like I never missed a payment on the farm how how did you know yeah remember what you told me no I don't know what you're talking about Lois I haven't seen you in years no but also then he comes back at the end right and speaks to a really thin gaunt Ben aete cuz clearly they've got him off the couch to come back and do another one yeah and then he's like who are you and I'm like are they going

to say Martian Man Hunter like I go by many names I'm like oh even better they're not going to say it like we who know are going to know and then they finish the conversation and just before he flies off he's like oh by the way it's Martian Mana I know and then and then Bruce Wayne does not say what what a a martian what does that mean you hunt Martian men or you're a martian who hunts men and also you said that like I should know were you talking to me or were you talking to some audience at least I did get rid of the whole race at the end oh yeah with um a lot of that goofy [ __ ] with um yeah everything Barry Allen said what is brunch I did not like the Joker no he's [ __ ] awful that was just a

very weird scene I was okay with it if that was the Joker we had gotten in suicide squ Suicide Squad I would have been okay with it no I just I don't know just cuz it kept coming in and out of focus and I just I didn't like it I I don't like him as the Joker I don't like his performance I find it really irritating but but it seems like he's trying to do a Heath Ledger but he's just I don't know he's certainly dialing in more Heath Ledger but that's that's the thing this might this should have been called Justice League rcom because I don't believe for a second this was Zack Snider's original cut this is Zack Snider plus Jos weeden's bad publicity plus fan feedback equals redcom well you know Z n

allegedly has not seen the theatrical version he won't watch it and actually what I read was what I read was that that apparently Christopher Nolan went with Zack Snider's wife to see it wife and then they came home and they went oh that's weird yeah that's what I was and then they said Zack you can't watch this it's garbage and he was like all right wow he's like well I can't now because my [ __ ] best mate and my wife saw this together so I don't want me to see it with yeah would be nice for an invite also why why is that happening yeah and evidently Jos Weeden is not going to watch this he said no interest in watching this is anyone talking to Jos Weeden cares what Jen thinks right now I don't think so but even like um the one of the big criticisms and I certainly

had this criticism too of um the theatrical [ __ ] still doing it this theatrical cut um was that steephen wolf was just an awful villain with no motivation yeah and in this he's like oh was he Dan or did they did he have a motivation and here it is suddenly that you just didn't see before yeah I think that was a weird choice to just get rid of the [ __ ] villain's backstory he was way more compelling this time with like you know he was he just wanted to be loved yeah I don't think I I would put money on that that was not part of Snider's original Vision that that is all added in now because they know about the criticism that's possible because I mean cuz they're like okay it worked with Darth Vader you know he's the big bad like no he's just a porn of the

emperor and it's you know it was the same thing in uh what worked so well in the two Last Avengers movies was that before you saw Thanos you saw his minions yeah I got to the [ __ ] the Zack sness of Batman Superman Wonder Woman humans got to look after them we'll [ __ ] murder anyone anything that's not from this planet though yeah like that's right we will [ __ ] seur them Superman I mean not in this necessarily but in Man of Steel Superman murdered millions of people Millions but like collaterally like he didn't like the first person he actually murdered with his own hands was Zod and he didn't want to do it but since then he's like no not fromed people with Zod he picked Zod up and

smashed him through people's houses yeah and then broke his neck like yeah yeah that's right but that be where he [ __ ] blast stepen Wolf's [ __ ] ear off off basically I was like Jesus Christ Zack Snider and then Wonder Woman chops his [ __ ] head off and tosses through the portal well that's also because in the in the in the Seattle cut there was basically once Superman turns up there's no point anyone else being there but this was a real team effort it's like Superman cut off his ear Wonder Woman cut off his head Aquaman kicked him through the hole everyone had a little something to do I did laugh there's a bit where they they first land in Russia and then the back of the I guess it's the Batwing opens up and they all like walk out through the smoke and

then like the music plays and then it stops and then Batman goes um actually I got to I got to go back on because I'm supposed to fly this thing in through the thing so I'll see you guys later that that was cool though that was really cool yeah yeah why why' he walk out yeah that just stayed in the cockpit stay in the [ __ ] seat mate he yeah yeah no but you're right about the Snider because this was this was much more akin to Watchmen yeah oh yeah of and he hero worship literally that kind of superhero fetishism yeah yeah I know what you mean he loves him worships him he does not care I think he literally said that's what he was trying to do so I still think the action in this was like it's all yeah I agree I agree

like it's never clear when anyone's in actual danger like what the stakes are well no one actually was cuz even he s flash he gets thrown against stuff and he's being thrown into like concrete grounds and steps and he's the same as Wonder Woman and they're both just fine well I wrote down this is an example of something I didn't like and this is this was in the other version as well there's a sequence should we say spoilers I think it's too late I mean at this point there's a sequence where Aquaman gets grabbed by the parad demons and they carry him up into the sky there's three of them and beats them up and then he starts falling right and it's like resed and he goes thanks cyborg rescues him and then he jumps off he either jumps or cyborg throws him and

then he starts falling again but it's okay that he's falling this time because he meant to do it like it's only dangerous building yeah it's only dangerous if he doesn't mean to do it cuz then later yeah he smashes through the top of a [ __ ] building riding a parademon like a surfboard five floors and just smashes through the how much does he [ __ ] weigh for starters and then why is he able to survive that but then later on Steen wolf hits him and he slams into the wall and some rocks are going to fall on him and but that's dangerous even though he can smash to a building but some rocks will hit him again Matt cuz he's not he doesn't mean to get hit by rocks if he did it on purpose it would have been fine if he' headbutted a

rock that's I think that's the rule that's the rule yeah cuz if you look like before they all trying to fight Steep and wolf and he's just blocking everything then Superman rocks up and they all just team up together and just punching throw him left and right it's all fine I think it's whether the the the thing that's going to hurt you was initiated by you or someone else that's whether it's that decides whether it's dangerous speaking of the thing that hurts you the scene where Superman wakes up and he's all angry and fight that's still my favorite scene in the whole movie yeah yeah yeah and it's I think they it didn't seem to change much between both I think it was finished wrong I think it was just that um they brightened up the sky for the uh the Weeden cup but um but

I don't remember seeing Superman punch Wonder Woman in the face I think that was in the the first one as well but I really I remember the headbutt the headbutt was there he punches her with his fist in the face I don't remember all it is is Superman's just grumpy when he wakes up yeah yeah I know Cofe I love that bit where Batman walks up and Superman looks at him and Batman's like ah [ __ ] yeah yeah but they didn't take out they they took out that bit where Superman's like well you didn't bring me back cuz you like me and he's like I I don't I don't not like you yeah um in the in the first one did Batman brought L Lane didn't didn't he oh oh yeah you might be right he sort of brought her out as like special the secret weapon and she and he brings her out not yeah you might just

rocking up cuz Lois was the key but it's right it's done now we've seen it internet just stopped talking about it now you got it it's still not a great movie it's better than what we got but it's not great well of course the internet is now beging for uh more the Snider sequel yeah they're saying it's not going to happen but I can't they said this was I want I want you to find the episode where we first reported on release the SN cut yeah we were like it's not going to happen we made so much fun of those [ __ ] on the internet I still think it's terrible that they're winging and complaining and they got their way yeah this has never this has never really happened before the I don't think this is more so than even Mass Effect this is like they spent millions

of dollars on this and and what's it the guy miles Dyson that actor he came out this week and he said miles Dyson yeah that actor Cyborg's dad he came out this week and he said that he feels like this is a good thing and it's like the the fans get to vote and I was like no no that is not a good thing that's not not a good thing that's not how this is supposed to work that is not how to create good art you can go and watch something and it's okay if you don't like it you don't have to like everything that comes out and if you don't like it just to go sorry that's not for me right I'd like to if next time can you try this for me not there are now more Star Wars movies that I don't like then do like and that's just something I have to live with but I

haven't written any angry emails have you heard what's coming to Disney plus this month next month what what Caravan of courage and battle for end all is it oh wow I just think it's interesting that like this movie is the one that gets people talking about this yeah [ __ ] this movie this like I mean look it's this movie is fine like but it's not you know it's yeah movie all right I think I think also by doing this it's now really made it very confusing how to watch these movies now oh sure because we Brothers said this is not this is not canon I I know it's not but it exists and I've seen it and now people are going to get confused now when The Suicide Squad comes out the next Aquaman it's cuz it's but then again they're not

doing they're not doing cinematic continuity anyway are they yeah it's all the same universe it's all Joker yeah like waen Phoenix is Jared Leo's dad is it oh no no well that's Standalone but the Aquaman Wonder Woman all that they're still part of that whole universe I don't want to get rid of that when Robert patson walks in and Chris Christopher Gordon Commissioner Gordon says to him all you've lost a lot of weight Ben but this is where it's confusing it's because they have the standal Loon but then they've also got the Universe at the same time and then also the television shows which are D different DC have always done that in the comics yeah like is Batman's doing this thing guess what it's not that other Batman it doesn't

make it easier because Marvel I think's in a tricky spot now cuz it's how do he start again type of thing Multiverse yeah and I think prob getting close to that whereas DC and which make a movie and it's fine we'll put that out yeah you got a money you got a point speaking of Marvel does anyone not really care about Falcon of the Winter Soldier I watched it and I actually quite liked it yeah I mean I want to watch it I just I just was watching this instead I think it's odd that they put this out directly after one division like build up some hype make us wait make us miss it no I I I actually quite like it cuz we go from this to L and I think that but yeah it's actually quite interesting cuz all it's it's it's really interesting watching all these

stories about happening when all these billions of people come back to earth and how it just it's not just yay Happy Days my family's back it's oh [ __ ] we don't have the infrastructure to support this anymore and got all these people going out of businesses we got and yeah no I I watch it it's good I'm enjoying it okay I'll pick it up for next time yeah can we talk about the fact that we get these beautiful cinematic TV shows for Marvel that are in 16 B9 and then we get this [ __ ] like what 20 how much did this movie cost Z Justice League 4 43 what the [ __ ] I know what the actual that's what he likes because he shot some of it on IMAX and then he went you know what even though this is going to be watched on a [ __ ] TV or an iPad

I'm going to put it in the IMAX [ __ ] resolution so that people can just not appreciate that because like the way they justify it is by saying okay you know you actually a 35mm film frame is 4X and they crop it to the academy ratio it's like yeah but you you crop it by knowing in advance you're going to crop it so you only frame in the center of the frame well that's some of the shots like most of the time I didn't really notice but some shots you can tell that it's you're like I never saw anyone's left shoulder yeah well that and then and then you saw the sky in some shots it's like like Wonder Woman's in the bottom of the frame like instead of in the middle am I the only person who thought that special effects were pretty bad some of them were were bad yeah like cyborg very

plasticky yeah cyborg didn't always look good did he yeah like you could really tell that was like yeah cgdi like it looked like looked like someone did it for the like uni project I I thought the same about um those battle sequences um that were I mean it it's funny that you can have thousands of people battling each other and the frames still feel really sparse you know there's no Elemental effects there's no dust being kicked up and you know like it's just it's so clean it's got that real video game cutscene Vibe about small groups of enemies never like you know like there's that sequence where um Batman's you know fanging the Batmobile to to to to do something I guess cuz he just doesn't give a [ __ ] if

he lives or dies that to explain to her audience what fanging means driving it's in people see Mad Max Fury Road haven't they and then they're all all the enem sh sounds like a vampire giving a [ __ ] and I was fanging him right and then but then whenever they they fight the bad guys there supposed to be like hundreds of them but you only ever see a couple at a time I guess is my point yeahh and when he crashes the Batmobile or when they shoot the Batmobile it like crashes into like three of them and it's like oh right that's they're done now oh that's there was just three of them the yeah never mind oh can somebody Explain the ending a little bit not the ending I mean what I mean which one there was a few so you've got the mother boxes and then he wants to put

the mother boxes together to to bring them into Unity because that it'll kill everyone on Earth and then turn them into he controls them or something doesn't it blows up the planet but then dark side needed the planet to get the anti-life equation like it ble but he didn't know about the anti-life equation when they were looking for the mother boxes that's two separate story lines no but he did he so by the time that they're doing it he does know because he's like I'm going to come then they open the portal and then seep molf is like he's here and then he and he destroys the [ __ ] planet with the mother boxes like I just and the Flash The Flash has to go back in time which was I loved all that stuff but but I kept thinking why did he blow up the

planet I thought he wanted the planet but not only that they've been here before they lost the battle they knew that they were here and then just not trying again oh yeah come back nobody wrote this down Superman's death they were like oh we can finally go back to Earth cuz Superman's Dead he wasn't there for 20 years exactly this happened thousands of years ago like the Amazon and the atlantans and the humans have had those boxes before Superman got here I don't know it was a little silly in that sense I just don't know why he blew up the plan I thought that was the opposite of what he wanted I was very confused by that b and they never really addressed that could been oh that's it was cool but it didn't make any sense no there's a lot of movie that doesn't make

sense to me like why it was made de Justice League check it out I guess it's a thumbs up from me done DUS never watching it again and what was ended up being like six parts and the epilog whereas it's not before that we heard it was going to be yeah he uh he said in an interview this week they asked him about that and he said oh yeah the studio was floating that and um it was just two up in the air and he was like you know what I'm just going to stick with my 4our movie that I've made thanks and then they were like okay but I also found weird cuz I missed sort of the first two went through quite quick and then I think the other was a bit spaced out but I don't actually quite understand what the different parts were no need there was no need to put chapter

headings in there no it's not an essay it but it didn't like the the different parts didn't really have like a big ending and like we're changing the storyline or anything there was no dramatic like went back ah but but this is really going on yeah you're right it was very self-indulgent yeah on multiple levels but to be honest could have could have gone worse for that I would say this was you know we talk about you know the George Lucas and the and the Peter Jackson effect like this was still fine I want to know did people get paid twice I wondered that too cuz people came back must have they must have there's no there's there's no way Ben Affleck would come back unless he made it worth his while Zack Snider apparently no money no

oh he just wanted to finish it that's cool yeah I imagine probably um probably got points on the back Aquaman was [ __ ] all about this too he probably did it for free I imagine he probably would have done it for free I don't know if he did well actually yeah I don't think yeah I don't think there was much re-shoot with him was there yeah probably not I guess probably not he don't think he had much else cuz originally it was good we don't need to re-shoot anything to we need to reshoot some of this stuff and well I think almost all the re-shoot were non primary cast related so all the villages singing that was all re-shoot all of the stuffi was that was I would have thought that was already there because I thought I thought mostly it was just the ending

you know the postapocalyptic [ __ ] any any scenes with all extras where you don't see one of the main casts standing in the frame chances are that's a re-shoot yeah right I love that [ __ ] Vi at the end it's so Zack Snider where Batman's like when I kill you and I will [ __ ] kill you [ __ ] kill you I did like that L I did like that Jesus Christ yeah yeah I mean this is a different Batman obviously even in the context of kills the Joker to [ __ ] off I like I know what they were trying with that whole like alter like they have to go back in time but they it sort of doesn't really explain like what happened how did she hon ending the ending was tacked on to to wrap up some of those plot points that were left dangling like the flash going back in

time they have the flash looking just in case yeah just in case the internet yelled loudly enough a second time and Warner Brothers decided to give him more money to do a sequel he wanted the door wide open yeah I I I do think that there will be a sequel to this I guess do we we don't know how this is doing it's hard to tell my prediction my prediction is that there will be as well well yeah how do they make money off this with HBO Max subscriptions like how do they I guess they have a lot of data about who's watching it from the because it's all tracked but I guess how do how do they determine if this was worthwhile yeah does eyeballs mean money in a direct sense now that people aren't buying a a CU there's yeah there's no ads or anything like so I

just wonder how how they're making back the [ __ ] excessive amount of money they spent on redoing this for the second time yeah cuz they spend a lot of money to redo it with J Sweden mhm but yeah [ __ ] the balls on Zack Snider where they're like all right you can finish it but you you can't have any extra money he's like all right have a couple million doar M yeah and they're like fine all right um can I have some millions and they're like can I $7 million yeah [ __ ] hell all right cuz you already given me the other Millions so you might as well just give me a little bit more and otherwise I can't finish it I'm just I'm watching the behind the scenes things too I'm actually I am really glad that he got to do this because you can tell just from

watching him talk that he really loves these films like he loves working on them and he really wanted to to to do it his way and I just wish he would do a better job of them and some bad [ __ ] happened and he wasn't able to do it so I'm glad he got to do it I I Al I think it's just cuz I don't like Superman you don't like him no he can just do everything and he's invincible and yeah I am glad that they didn't have Superman show up and say did somebody say just ERS in this version cuz that was [ __ ] awful I felt that they balanced that quite well in this Luke I felt that cyborg was just as [ __ ] they were all Invincible yeah that's that's that's before I think that's my problem like

they were all there was Cyborg had all Superman's plowers plus hacking skills yes yeah it's never clear when anyone's in any danger like even the flash who in theory should just be a [ __ ] human but now he's got this ability to heal fast yeah but like Superman can like I mean not not full on punch him but he can get hit by Superman who's trying to kill him and survive and smashed through you know Solid Rock and he's all right yeah which I thought his only real power was just being fast not yeah being slammed into walls and crushing through concrete and going why is Aquaman a [ __ ] able to do any of the stuff that he's able to do he can he's a under sea guy breathe underwater can breath under and talk to animals and also smash to a building he didn't just talk to fish I

don't think he could talk to all animals but I love it that like Aquaman not part of this adventure until we get flooded and now he's here and then they all stop running and they're like who's that I don't know you you ever seen this guy before no I don't know should we should we keep running away from the water does look like it does look like he's exerting some effort and it might not work for much longer they did that a couple times they did it again at the end when Batman busts through the [ __ ] Shield which [ __ ] that was ballsy too cuz remember he shot a missile at the shield and it opened a little hole and he was like all right I'll just fly head first at it and shoot and hopefully that'll work and then he crashes and then they're all just

standing around going you all right Bruce you're I kind of don't understand why he dropped them off early when why don't they just come with him through the shield and then they all jum out and disperse then yeah M but then but like why are they waiting to see if he's why four people can fly to get dropped off in the first place yeah it's like when you see a bird crossing the street and then it sees your car so it like speeds up its little run and you're like Fly Away M the thing that I liked the least though out of everything was that cuz they shot all of these additional battle sequences for the exposition and

prehistory of the mother boxes MH and Wonder Woman tells Bruce Wayne all about it yeah y but if you've got slabs and slabs of dialogue it's not the person with English as a second language that you give that to did you watch that um the the the gag reel for Wonder Woman 1984 that I you I did I [ __ ] love Chris Pine Charming making fun of her accent oh I love planes oh look at the planes yeah but yeah you're right like why would you have her like it's it it really sounded like she was reading off a piece of paper the tone was different when they cut away from shots of her looking at Bruce Wayne talking yeah it was clearly just recorded as a voiceover later and not her fault she's like like you said not her fault at all she said English she not her first language she

does perfectly fine job as Wonder Woman 90% of the time but she's not good at reading it like complicated slabs of dialogue yeah yeah and don't let us sing anymore did she sing in this not in this oh just on the internet she sings on the inet yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah imagine they all saying imagine yeah she she sang to make co go away yeah I I guess it worked I don't know I've not got Co so be judging thanks gal thank you speaking of of slabs of exposition and and people who shouldn't be reading it um I saw a play last night yeah that I wanted to mention for somebody who was a theater major and then got a theater degree and um subscribes as season

tickets to Sydney Theater Company I I realized I don't think I like plays they're not very good they're never very good I like funny plays and musicals I don't like anything serious I think in theory plays a good but and I were trying to think of a good one that we'd seen like that we actually like we we really couldn't think of many examples this play we saw last night starred Sam Worthington and I honestly would have rather watched Avatar again than see this [ __ ] play it was so TR and on the nose um and of course it was all about [ __ ] racism and sexism and classism and all you know whatever you could squeeze into a play sure what made it worthwhile was something that happened offstage right so H and I amusing as as well that like 20 years

ago when we started watching plays we were always the youngest people in the theater right in the audience and even though now I'm in my 40s I'm still the youngest [ __ ] play audiences are very very old I don't think kids know plays are no sitting next to me uh were these two really old women your classic Grandma types right mhm in the play there's a character who's secretly gay mhm and there's a bit where he's trying to watch porn quietly but he's got the sound up so he presses play right and for a second you hear come on [ __ ] my ass daddy right and then he like presses pause right where is this happening who does that in a public place anyway go on and no no no he's it's he's in a he's by himself but he's in a quiet house okay all right at at night right he's just

looking around to make sure no one else he didn't wake anyone up with it gotcha so when that comes out [ __ ] my ass daddy you know the audience gasps you know that moment right yeah the woman to down from me Whispers to her friend what did he say and the woman this other old woman just turns to her and says [ __ ] me in the ass Daddy and she is and then she said all right later but what did he say but like not just like oh he was watching porn not just verbatim said it back to her it was amazing I was like suddenly it's worth me coming to this play to have heard this old lady say that so would you SN cut versus the play

I guess I would watch 10 hours of the SN cut every day of my life if you told me that was the only way to avoid ever seeing this play again wow all right garbage absolute garbage and what makes it worse for me and I know this is probably a little bit arrogant but I just know that everyone in that play thinks they're saying something real clever sure you know mhm and that irritates me like at the end they come out and they're bowing like they're just [ __ ] blown my [ __ ] mind like like I walked in there as a racist and a homophobe and now I'm none of those things cuz I saw this [ __ ] play yeah pack yourself on the back yeah get off off your pedestal I.E the stage actors I don't like it I don't like plays no more plays all right musicals

is where it's at I thought we were putting on a play the Scottish play yeah we are all right but that's the thing too M I'm not calling it I'm calling MC Beth I'm not scared come at me Conor McBeth of the clan MCB Beth but it's the same I love I love MC Beth it's my favorite of Shakespeare's plays probably right never seen it done well I like reading it I but every production I've seen has been garbage I went to when I was in high school to his credit our Drama teacher tried to take us to they did a that performance of MC Beth that was in [ __ ] like warehouses on the docks at in Sydney like do you know what I mean there was like a it was like a huge deal at the time but he took a bunch of [ __ ] idiot high school kids to see this that's not going to end

well and then I mean it was a neat because they had these big battles that they that they were able to put on cuz they were in this huge space but you couldn't hear a [ __ ] word anyone was saying like cuz it was just the nature of the thing like if you familiar with the play it probably would have been pretty neat but like we were not interested and in the end uh we were asked to leave because oh wow yeah and I always I always think back then I feel bad for my my Drama teacher cuz he tried but uh but Matt he probably tried every year with every class and he probably got kicked out every time so to him for keeping it on trying yeah I uh I was at one particular I saw mcth done once where it was like gangster style like 1930s Chicago right but MC Beth and

there's this famous Soliloquy where um lady MCB Beth is kind of praying to have her femininity Stripped Away so that she has the balls to murder somebody she think she was trans yeah that's right well she talks about her breasts a lot she's like bosom this and that and there was these two teenage boys in the front row who would you know that teenage boy trying not to laugh laugh oh yeah it was just that yeah just that like a balloon about to lose all its air yeah and of course the more they laughed the more everyone else laughed and then because it was an intimate theater setting the the actress you could see it in her face when she knew

there was another line coming up that would probably provoke them y oh man you joked earlier but do you think we could do a a new version of MC Beth that was like a mashup with Highlander yes all right then all right let's do it mhm okay what would that be M Beth is an immortal yeah I mean he doesn't know but I mean we'd have to make Duncan is an immortal as well and and he cuts off his head that's the king Luke so that's one quickening but then Matt Duff who comes in in the end to slay MC Beth he he's got to be one too yeah that's got to be but everyone else just thinks he's just a [ __ ] great warrior doesn't know that he's actually Immortal and we got to get Clancy Brown to be in it somehow yeah I actually don't think that'll be as

hard as you think I was actually I was about to say we should try get Christopher lamber but I doubt that' be very hard either the [ __ ] how is Christopher Lambert not a huge star I know like Teenage me thought he was best I think I think in France he's a bigger star than you probably give him credit for yeah although I have re I I think you guys a clip I rewatched uh Fortress just to see the this ultimate God I love that movie don't watch the sequel what don't watch the first one God it's not what you remember first one long ago enjoy that bit where that clip I sent you where he you the truck comes back to life oh yes and it's trying to kill him and he shoots it with a flamethrower and it crashes into a barn and it [ __ ] explodes half the planet like huge

explosion I was like see I love for that no no no I'm just saying his performance is not good his performance is fine cuz his wife and the baby are in the barn and then the truck crashes and he's like no how would you have played it any differently that's fair it wasn't great material get in the truck we're going to leave yeah if you don't believe he's a great actor just think back to that scene in Highlander where he first meets the little girl in Nazi Germany and he's holding the machine gun and the German soldiers barking at him in German and he just goes whatever you say Jack you're the master race and then just [ __ ] machine guns yeah they would have watched that again mhm why doesn't he have a Scottish accent why why does Spanish Egyptian have

sequels yeah no I think I'm going to watch Highlander this week of the side of all right time you should actually wasn't article this week recently about an interview with Clancy Brown was it maybe it was his birthday or something and uh so they were doing a little retrospective thing on some website is that why cuz Clancy brand has been cropping up in the media a little bit yeah I mean he's he's still alive so I mean yeah or something some some reason Clancy Brown's been in the news so yeah I've started doing something weird so when Xbox have sales out on movies if I see something that's for a good price even if it's on a streaming service but I know it's a movie I like I'm starting to buy them okay okay so for those times where you go I want to watch this and

then you go to stream so if it's stop there yeah I now have it and yeah yeah they a bit like what we used to do when if there was a good a movie you liked you would just want to own the DVD so that if you ever wanted to watch it it was there yeah and now I have a huge crate of DVDs that are in the basement cuz I don't use now I I threw mine out 100 sort of movies on Xbox now that I brought for five bucks yeah like just every week I have a look and go yep I like that I'm getting it yeah no I buy some too from time I bought Groundhog Day the other day cuz it was $3 and I was like that's a great movie and I will want to watch it again at some point so have you guys seen Palm Springs no I know you're not a fan of Andy Samberg Luke I think I know this this is that um

yeah I didn't actually like that movie oh you didn't I thought it was quite Charming the only thing I didn't like about it was that I couldn't believe you could just remake Groundhog Day call it something else and then just not have anyone go this is Groundhog Day is it this is already a movie there's already there's another movie out at the moment as well that's the same story about two people finding themselves trapped in a loop and there's also that uh Natasha Leon one um yeah I thought was a little different yeah that actually I thought that was quite good Russian dolls oh I know what you mean I know what you mean yeah yeah yeah but I don't there's just something about yeah these time Loop things is that's Happy Happy death day was like that as well actually

that was a good movie happy death day was good yeah that a good movie yeah where there's a serial killer and she keeps getting murdered and waking up and it's the morning and then she has to solve the murder it's that was a good movie okay I might watch it I probably won we're almost running out of time in this episode because we talked for over halfway about Justice League yeah it is Snider's fault this could be a 4-Hour episode I guess power two yeah yeah so this is part two yeah that's right well there's there's at least one thing I feel like we should talk about uh I don't know if that's the same way same place you're going Dan or something that's perhaps time sensitive okay go on oh no I don't mean I have to say it immediately I just

never had to go through classification the first time around and all the offensive stuff is not in the update it's in the main game it's one of these weird things for some reason if the game in to show they don't have a console release they don't have to go through the classification process but the second they go to Playstation or Xbox they have to go through yeah so what's going to happen is once they release the Xbox version cuz there is a dis version Matt's going to buy it for me and send it cuz then I haven't purchased it it hasn't been sold in Australia and I can play it still this article doesn't have the quote that they I don't think that they gave about why they refused A classification [Music]

940 wait no I did get some this week cuz I I ran around the map I um I stripped nak it and went for a run around the map and I got I got you can run faster and your stamina long so I just dropped all my stuff off stripped off naked and ran North and I ended up in the Northlands just went and explored that's actually I got murdered by my own people in in a nordheimer village bastards oh sure yeah um you'll notice that there's a couple of employees working for us now I did notice that there one's working in the kitchen dumb too cuz I I went over I built that [ __ ] little camp on the South Bank of the river to to catch people and pop them in the in theel and and then you just started doing it back at the base where I couldn't I couldn't knock anyone out

over there so now I was like oh well I should have just tried harder I guess I'm going to apologize I can just not get into the game oh my God just literally literally we can't let you in or no no no I don't know why I I I try but there's just no incentive for me to play it maybe we need to be on he's already got all the achievements there they've broken him I've got one achievement I need and I need to cheat to get it yeah I need to stand on your head and Crush you no incentive fun well you'll have to you'll have to play a game to to do that Luke I don't play games for fun anymore I'm not I I actually I am playing games for fun I'm playing Fallout 4 for fun I enjoying that game well you'll be you'll be pleased to know that there's uh there's more Story

coming oh no that's Fallout 76 so never mind well that that I mean we could talk about that briefly too I don't think there's a whole lot to discuss but that might be a way of because we've talked about playing that before as well and there wasn't a whole lot to do we could maybe give that a shot when this update comes out yeah yeah I'm back on Game Pass now so yes with that one I I hopefully if it's got crossplay to' be good because I've unlocked a fair amount of achievements on the Xbox but not on the PC so if I can play with you don't give a [ __ ] about the achievement I hate that this is a thing now it's like I know right Luke's like this game is really fun I don't care about fun I only care about [ __ ] achievements I hate that fact I really do but you know love

I'd love for Luke to get banned somehow yeah from achievements like for them yeah for to get caught cheating and he does cheat so for him to get caught cheating I do not cheat thank you very much just going to report luk I'm just going to keep sending reports like he's racist he's racist is he da racist on the Xbox no but he is I trust me I know we don't want him banned from Xbox we just want him we just take away his achievements points to not accumulate yeah take away that's what I'm going to tell him I don't want you to ban him just disable achievements yeah just ter we want him back he's sick and he needs help and only you can help him it isn't an addiction it is yes it is I mean I guess it's not the worst

thing you could be addicted to what is the worst thing you could be addicted to um probably heroin I was about to say probably heroin I don't know um no I think things way worse than heroin like what I miss nicotine no but you now you just listing substances now whereas like getting achievements is a thing like if we if we're including doing things as things you can be addicted to there's you mean like like like serial killer or something what was I going to say oh oh right yeah okay speaking of which I watched that documentary Alan versus pharoh this week oh I've I've not watched it I've read people talking about it quite interesting quite interesting yeah right don't even know what it is it's about W Woody Allen yeah oh sorry oh Woody sorry I didn't hear

the Woody part how you say w he touched a children yeah his I've I've read people's you know chatter about it I've not watched it but from what I hear it's it's both they're both not good for him but then also there's bits of it where they're like wow you you've gone a bit too far on that one so it raises more questions than it answers kind of thing yes is he is he a thing anymore or is that why they've made it now because he's the thing about no no no no th this is funded by the Pharaoh family and actually if I have one criticism it's that it's very singles sided so like at at nowhere in it do they say also Mia faroh is a bit of a sociopath yeah it glosses over all that stuff yeah and two of her kids committed

suicide two it's not that doesn't mean that if W Allen did something that makes her okay correct it is odd to just and and and also it doesn't paint a complete picture and apparently obviously so if you know if they just keep leaving stuff out and you're like well why aren't you mentioning that yes however even with that in mind I now am inclined to it doesn't look good it doesn't look good for him and here's why here's this is not proof this is just the even the things he does admit to are a bit gross right yeah so you know like even if you just take him on just the stuff that he said he did he admits to yeah yeah he's probably still not a very nice man but does that mean we can't enjoy his movies
