That’s Not A Knife: Crocodile Dundee & Michael Keaton Batman

so I've been thinking about Highlander lately I think about Highlander all the time I'm just thinking about like the world of Highlander so I think to have an advantage and have a chance at becoming like the only one you'd have to become a like die hundreds of years ago yeah that would be imagine like tomorrow you get shot and then you wake up and you're now Immortal you don't know how to fight with the sword welcome to multiple nerd Gam GM with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy that's true I know a little bit these guys been that's what they do I did a brief long sword course years back yep yep I've done

fencing but I really don't think that Parry repost is going to really go up against the Kiran and that sword with the spikes coming out of it cuz running him through with a rapia is not going to do anything well it might hurt yeah cuz that's not even the fact that like you haven't had a lot you don't use swords but they've been using swords for battle for before that's fair it's a very valid point I was going to say also as as time goes on and there's less of them you're all going to be worse at it anyway worse at highing is it he's he's not a Highlander a Highlander is not an immortal right no he's a Highlander CU he's from the Highland he from Scotland when I was when I was young I used to think oh you know they're all Highlanders but they're not I mean K's not a Highlander he's

[ __ ] and that's what sort of tried me off at the start I was about to say when you turn into a Highlander yeah which you don't you turn Immortal I think if you said that anyone who's not an absolute [ __ ] would know what you're talking about or an alien But as time goes on right there's going to be less of them less and more they're not aliens anymore Luke did you know this wait what they R conned it when how they R oh no wait they didn't yeah they R con that they're no longer from the planet Ze cuz there's a director's cut right oh of Highlander 2 yeah and they took out the line where he said it was 500 years ago because I guess someone pointed out that a lot of the events take place makes no [ __ ] sense far far in the distant past past 500 years so there there is a

there is a revised Edition where some of that garbage has been changed what a [ __ ] disaster I know Highlander 2 is how did that though oh no I like it too for what it is but just it's not a Highlander Highlander too to be honest it's also kind of more interesting because it's such a [ __ ] disaster cuz yeah you're like how did this happen oh it wasn't a Highlander movie it was just some other script and they were like could we just call that Islander too and get the people from Highlander to be we we need a sequel right now I can probably write you a script by tomorrow that will take too long find me a script right now it's been a long time since I've seen it but what what was the excuse for strong Connor's character to come back

money no no I meant Oh in the in the in the editorially old Connor McLoud remembers that Ramirez once told him if you ever need me call my name and so he just yells out Ramirez and that just brings sha Connor's character back to life does that does that work for everyone now I don't know and it certainly wasn't set up in the first movie or he would have just done it straight away or or ever followed up on yeah that's right mind you that movie Highlander 2 as [ __ ] as it is is Shan Conor's greatest performance and every frame that he's on screen is is Cinematic gold and none of the other Highlander movies have hoverboards so that's right yeah Michael

iide driving a train really fast yes I think I'm going to have to go and watch them all again yeah there's probably even more that you haven't seen too there's like six movies or something isn't there yeah Highlander endgame was the last one I remember oh there's more after that Matt I'm sorry to say yeah yeah not end game was end game the one where they had show there was multiple television shows because the Watchers got their own spin-off Raven got his own spin-off [ __ ] hell yeah for something that barely any people know about there was a lot of content speaking of Highlander they were just shooting the Dexter follow the Revival they're calling it Dexter Revival um halfway between here and my Vermont place oh wow oh so you could

have offered them accommodation have gone and seen Clancy Brown yeah Clancy why I mentioned why why I mentioned Highlander cuz Clancy Brown's in it he is so what else has been happening this week well Luke Matt and I are just waiting to your news yeah okay so you've promoted and when the listeners find out what it is they're going to be waiting to hear the news too ah so something I got a weird email this week and I don't know why you do know why I I okay I'm starting to feel that I am the chosen one for Scientology mhm okay MH yeah yeah they chose you to become a member of scient ology and you accept it I think they try to make everybody feel that way just quietly but

go on mhm they have now offered me a position of Minister okay you've done all the training uh well they they think you have for some reason yeah you've done all you all that you need to become a minister in the Scientology church he has done well what what it really is is they've done a food drive and they want people to volunteer to hand it out in a parking lot but they're being called volunteer ministers but it's just oh okay just find it weird that do you get any kind of certification because I think this might be worth doing just just for your minister sh to La give out some food and oh it's in La is it well you left that [ __ ] part out of the story when you were telling it luk so before you start condescending to me also when he initially told us about it

he said that they've asked him to become a reverend which yeah I I messed up on the word no only because you didn't mention anything about the food driver or anything and I thought they I it sounded like you literally and I mean this may have been what you thought when you first saw the email but I thought you were like they want you to [ __ ] take over and teach the other Scientologist how scient yeah to to take a congregation A Flock if you will under his wing mhm or his tentacle depending on what they have I don't I don't know see to me it's just sort of weird why La have just kept me to me you'd be like hey he lives in CRA let's send this information over to the cra's office and they can deal with you don't give them a

hints on here they're almost certainly listening to this yeah not only that Matt but I was in CRA this weekend Luke and I had a great dinner at a sushi restaurant that really looked after us and gave us some some great freebies as well when they found out it was Luke's birthday um and then Luke said there's somewhere else I want to take you and then we rounded a corner and there was the [ __ ] Church of Scientology now he then claimed we were going to a video game bar that was like a couple of doors down from that but you know right so you he's converted you now yeah yeah I tell you what though I tell you what it's not fun being the oldest [ __ ] person in a pub yeah we were that was say you didn't have to worry about that this weekend

Luke yeah that's right Follow by me but no the the next youngest people that W with us were like at least 15 years younger than us yeah I was expecting people to come up and say are you here to pick up your kids well the scary thing is that you could be I haven't been I didn't go to camra 15 years ago luk I want that known I watched uh I watched a Trilogy of movies this week that just got some it's not enough to just watch one movie no it wasn't enough I had to I had to go all in and uh it's it's got some let's say it's got some dated humor in it I watched the Crocodile Dundee Trilogy oh wow I don't think I've seen the third one no I don't think I've seen the third

one either the technically I would say the third one might be the best one from a from a from a story point I mean it's still it's the same [ __ ] it's literally the same jokes cuz one and two are the same movie pretty much aren't they well sort of I barely remembered to it's just one in Reverse right so the first one yeah kind of yeah so if I mean listen you've probably seen these Crocodile Dundee it's like ' 80s movie that basically cashed in on the fact that people thought Australia was cool and and Australia AUST is cool yeah but that that like they were you know idiots basically who didn't know much about big cities and he's a he's a crocodile hunter from the Northern Territory he doesn't know anything and then the first half of the movie set in Australia

because this American journalist goes to investigate him and then he goes to New York with her and you get to see a butt yeah that's true first thong I'd ever seen in a film yep and it had a crocodile coming at it so bonus wouldn't you Matt wouldn't you she's awful by the way yeah right CU she she's her character she has a boyfriend in New York right who they who I mean they seem to be in a fairly serious relationship she goes to Australia falls in love with MC dunde and doesn't mention the fact that she's got a boyfriend or anything she just says come back to come back to New York invites him back come back to New York with me and then they get there and she

just starts making out with this other dude and he's like that's weird and then had they done anything by then yep and and then she's kind of just like it's never even addressed she's just kind of like with one and then she's with the other and then at one point the the the American boyfriend proposes to her and mix like I'll go home then and that's when that big finale happens you know he walks across everybody's heads at the subway it's because she runs down the stairs and she goes I've decided I'm not going to marry whatever his name is like this is [ __ ] weird that is weird I have noticed that this is very much an American thing like The Bachelor moves like Bachelor parties and stuff like that it's always you can do Bachelor can do whatever he wants get La do all that

or the other thing is where you always see like there's a couple in a relationship and and then it's okay just to move on to someone else yeah right well making sense it just it I didn't remember I obviously watched this as a kid I think we watched these in school actually yeah would have been yeah they were uh I can't be bothered to teach today watch this I think you mean important cultural icons yeah but yeah their relationship is very strange and until the second one and that then they're just kind of they're dating but yeah the second one's kind of in Reverse he's moved to New York but then the the plot of the second one is that they've moved to New York her ex husband who's someone she was dating before all of the stuff I just told you about her

ex-husband who's a reporter is in South America investigating these cocaine Smugglers gets killed but he sent her a film with incriminating photos of this [ __ ] drug dealer so now this drug cartel comes after them I have literally no memory of this so a drug cartel kidnaps her he rescues her and then the police are like we'll put you in protective custody and he's like no worries I know where to go it's the place that I'm from that everybody knows where I'm from because it's famous now because I'm from there we'll go there so he takes her back to can I just clarify something so he was a reporter as well the ex-husband yep correct but instead of sending it to the police or the company he works for which would love that information who's paying for him he

sends it to his ex in fact he calls the DEA and he says I've got these photos and they like sent them to me and he goes no I've sent them somewhere else don't worry about it there's actually a scene that says that yes oh send them to you [ __ ] yes that's what I should have done I sent them to my ex-wife who I not spoken to in in very long time but I've left her a voicemail to explain the situation and I think I think she left the country at one point I don't even know if she's still around well because he calls and then it's a voicemail that's like it's MC dundy Going H this is apparently this is an answering machine or something something anyway leave a message bye and then he's like I'll left [ __ ] drug mail drug photos to you yeah that sounds like my ex-wife

yeah ex yeah exactly and then uh and then she gets kidnapped by a drug cartel they come back to Australia that the drug cartel follows them to Australia oh yeah and and J kept pointing out at this point like they're no longer a threat this is just pure [ __ ] Vengeance drug cartels tailed them to to the Northern Territory and are pursuing them through the bush to murder them like what uh what nationality are the they kept the film they didn't send it to anyone else as well I think well that's I can't remember I think they gave it to the DEA halfway through the movie I think okay um they're from Colombia I'm pretty sure right okay so they are South American yeah oh yeah yeah yeah yeah mhm yeah just wanted to make sure that the film was playing on that stereotype as well

yes yeah exactly and uh and so then they go through the bush and you know with the help of the local aboriginals and the um the uh it was his mate his tour guide mate they um smart them and with Hy Jinks and stuff that little guy in the Safari suit that's him yeah uh and then the third one is they've got a kid now and she she gets offer at a job her dad owns a newspaper the guy who ran the newspaper in New York died in in sorry in Los Angeles died and they need someone to take over the Los Angeles branch of the newspaper she gets off of the job and Mick's like oh yeah let's go so they move to Los Angeles okay because that point him and her who are married in real life actually do live in La by then yeah presumably yeah cuz they cuz they

had to leave Australia because he had touched yeah dodged his taxes but the third one actually has the best plot cuz the plot is there's a film studio right they're making these flops they're making the third one none of these films have made any any money and the newspaper like why are they still making these movies and it turns out that what they're doing is they're smuggling um paintings that were believed to have been blown up during a war from Yugoslavia they're smuggling them into the country as props cuz they've set up a a film company they film half in Yugoslavia half in La they film on the sets in Yugoslavia then they have to move the set to Los Angeles and the paintings are part of the set dressed right so they smuggle these

paintings in and then and then they swap them out and then the plot is at the end of the movie they're going to burn the set down as part of the film to cover everything up and I'm like that's the best plot they've come up with so far yeah not bad also how old is this movie that there's still a Yugoslavia is this pre1 1991 I pretty sure that these are all 80s I don't know when the third one came out uh I I think I assumed the third one was years later yeah I thought that even like in the last 20 years crocodile I kind of want to watch this now there's a new one too right there's a movie called what's the name of it it's it's where Paul Hogan plays himself in a movie about how he can't play any role except Crocodile Dundee okay apparently

is quite good oh sorry 2001 Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles yeah yeah right I thought it might have been in yeah in the 2000s good old Yugoslavia circuit 2001 that makes it even more interesting that they they decided to uh to keep the the theme of of the homophobic humor well well into 2001 yeah cuz there was a bit of that a a it yeah yeah there's that bit in the first one they're at the bar and then there's a there's a a transexual no transgender transgender well I mean back then sexually assaults you wouldn't have referred to them that way but yeah exactly right he there's a there's a he's hitting on a girl at the bar it's going well and then one of his men friends is like Mick that's a and he's like what so he grabs a junk and goes you're a bloke and then

everyone in the bar starts laughing and uh she runs out crying so that's a great scene yeah lovely lovely and that's the hero of the film that does that is it yep mhm yep and then in the second one ah the80s in the second one there's a guy he's going to jump off a building in New York that's right and so he wanders outside just wanders around and he's like what you doing mate and they're having a chat and then it's it's s very silly mhm but then the guys are like I can't do it and they start hugging and the guy goes guys I just can't take it anymore you know I can't believe you know it's over we've broken up I love him and then he he goes him and like pushes the guy away and then falls off the building wow that was the 80s for you

yeah yeah and in the third one which again filmed in 2001 they walk into a bar in Los Angeles that says Cowboys enter for free and uh and then there obviously you know a transgendered person at the door they walk in they walk out with a funny look on their face and his friend goes that must be one of those bars and and then he goes I think you're supposed to call them gay homosexuals and then and then they wander off and I was like all right it's not even a joke this goes this goes back to what we were talking about before which is the if your joke doesn't have a punchline it's not a joke that's the only one in the third movie but it's all right I kind of want to watch them now and then Young Einstein oh Young Einstein was good look I got tell you

the first crocodile D it's pretty good it's a bit weird and yeah I watched it I mean several years ago now but you know it's pretty good long after see why it was I can see why it was such a hit back then it's still watchable it's got some weird you know out ofate stuff in it but it's pretty good the second one I could I could leave it's probably got more Aboriginal cast members than any other movie from the80s except for possibly the howling three yeah the second one I think is more so cuz there's a whole bunch of of of people who help him out at the end like all all just cuz it's all set in Australia and they you know like he uses the um [ __ ] bull roarer to summon summon the local AB original tribe and they come and help him and they [ __ ] with the drug cartel as well

where did you watch these Matt where are they available uh watched them I don't know about where you guys would watch them the first one was on Showtime anywhere uh and then the other two were on Hulu I'm thinking Prime oh wait no Prime you're right yeah yeah two and three were on Prime not Hulu um yeah I mean he's he's Charming in these he's fine I mean yeah third one he's losing his charm a bit actually he's worse in the third one his performance doing it for paycheck and not even money he got to keep money to give back to the Australian federal government yeah oh and the third one has Mike Tyson in it does it cuz Mick and his kid are walking through the park and there's a bloke there doing some medit doing some yoga and the kid goes what's

that guy doing and they go over and it's Mike Tyson and he goes I'm just meditating and then he teaches him how to meditate wow um one and two are on St okay okay I got Stan I can get in on that I'm just got to go through like 20 streaming services to find out what's on what so if you can uh I don't know I feel like it's not something I would recommend someone who's never seen it to watch yeah honestly except maybe the first one maybe the first one the first one's still quite you know Charming it's the rest of them I think I don't know like I said the third one I guess has the best plot but still it's garbage so what's the sun doing while they're being pursued by drug lords through the bush oh he doesn't exist in the second one oh I see that's the second one right yeah

he third one's all Hollywood and actually that's a good point and the third one I don't know where he is during the Final Act he's supposed to be because they hire a nanny except it's not a nanny it's his friend from Australia who's also at the studio having the final confrontation so I don't know where their son is at that point Dan I have a feeling that number three is in Italy yeah yeah I I do know where the kid is the kids with his teacher the kid is in Italy yeah yeah the kid is with his teacher I've I've just remembered it is explained don't ride in convenient all those crocodile hunter in Los Angeles fans don't write in crocodile hunter Crocodile Dundee they want to bch Steve owens's name yeah well I mean he is a crocodile hunter I suppose isn't he

he is yeah I mean in the first one in that scene we've already talked about where Linda kazlowski is in a thong swimsuit and then gets attacked by a crocodile he comes in and stabs that [ __ ] through the [ __ ] skull is the most badass thing I've ever seen in my life and then she goes is it dead and he goes well it's not dead I'm going to have a hard time skinning it w waa waa I do love that bit I think it's just before then where like you see him shaving with a razor and then he sees the girl come so he PS the razor away and gets out his big knife and pretends he was doing it with the knife it's like it's pretty good it's got some good stuff like that in it it really does sum up what the Australian media wanted everyone to think about Australia in

the80s yeah totally now there's some funny stuff so that's what I did this week speaking of movies the Oscars were on oh today today for us last night for you yeah they were yeah and um actually for most part all the winners were quite deserving um a couple of things that I thought were funny number one M David Finch's new film I got to watch that which uh copied the sets and the cinematography of Citizen Kane won the Oscars for sets and cinematography which gives it two more Oscars than Cinema Kane Citizen Kane everone that's great which is fantastic and number number two did you guys see who presented the award for best editing no okay no I haven't watched anything actually it was an actor you may have heard of called

Harrison Ford right okay comes out to present the word yeah you might have been yeah okay played the crocodile and uh he came out and just said I'm going to read to you a list of notes the studio gave before Blade Runner and he just read the list really yeah yeah what a [ __ ] Champ yeah I know and then he puts it back in his pocket and goes the editing process can be frustrating here are the nominees for the best editor that's great mhm he does not give a [ __ ] I mean you have to go through I'm going to I'm going to have to watch this now insert the clip opening too choppy why is his voice over track so terrible good he sounds drugged were they drugged Decker at the piano is

interminable flash you listening to why do we need the third cut to the EG cut to the eggs this movie gets worse every screening all right that's good mhm so is there anything that won awards this year that I would watch absolutely not the Oscars Soul Oscars isn't for soul won best soundtrack that's all I know I think it won best animated film as well so number one that's another Oscar to attakus Ross and um yeah Trent resner for their score which is well deserved Matt I think you agree yeah it's beautiful I mean all their scores are great but this one was Next Level what I feel the Oscars art it's a circle jerk where Hollywood packed itself on the back to go where great people actually go to the movie

and watch watch it they don't they aren't enjoying the movies that are here this is all I read a an article I can't even remember what it was but it was just someone said I don't even remember where I said this but something about how the Oscars are unique in that you have no idea what it is that they're going to take into a consideration when they decide who wins it could just be like how successful the movie was was it could be you have no idea what anybody any one person's criteria was or why why why any film one I remember that year where like Lord of the Rings won all of them yeah but then there's been years where they're like if you're a studio Blockbuster you're not getting a look in yeah yeah and things like see any of the Marvel or DC movies really winning

except for sde Squad yeah movies will win like a ation prizes sometimes almost it's like it's just it's all I mean it's you're right it is very it's like a popularity contest almost yeah but only the people in that small group vote Yes the academy is also made up of actors yeah yes um of course the razis were on last night as well they happen at the same time as the the Oscars every year how did Adam Sandler do I don't know if he even had any films out this was that awful Halloween one wasn't that last year yeah that was last year was it I didn't or maybe it was 2019 maybe Terri it's all a blur well the the winner of worst film um is a documentary

called absolute proof which apparently proves the um voting fraud conspiracy and um worst actor was given to the filmmaker who also hosts that documentary so worst actress worst supporting actress and worst screenplay all go to that movie where sea the pop star tries to write a movie about what it's like to be autistic yeah I heard about that that's I've heard of that yeah yeah and worst supporting actor goes to Rudy Giuliani for uh for Bor out subsequent movie film God can he really get that when he wasn't acting he was mate the Raz the Razzi is just the razis is just a [ __ ] Circle joke mate it's all I don't think that is though no Integrity my favorite razi is um is uh

show Girls when um I can't think of his [ __ ] name you know his name Dan Paul veren Paul veren showed up he's the only director ever to show up to accept his award in person that's great and did he did he collect it and go it's a satire he no he got up and and said the audience said thank you very much and then he went and sat down that's great see for me the razis I I sort of feel more in touch with the razis than I do the Academy Awards you still haven't seen any of them Luke no did you watch parasite last year Luke doesn't like movies parasite was great parasite was excellent what was the best picture this year oh I know the answer to that it's uh [ __ ] what's it called it's called Nomad land Nomad land yeah which is very good good I mean Luke

don't watch it it's not your kind of movie sounds like it's about cyber Punk 2077 yeah that's right it's about monsters and spaceships and slapstick comedy all right I guess I have to check it out now what is it really um it's it's a very touching um boring story about a woman who lives in a van and um okay travels America and it's about how sometimes film adaptation of that Chris Farley character down by the river no it's it's just a kind of a poignant story about how you can you can only when you have nothing are you truly free and therefore have everything okay interesting lovely movie yeah very improvised you know very Art House I want a bunch right a bunch of things yeah yeah yeah it was very

good it lovely movie H Matt I don't know if you've seen a a film uh met 1989 so I don't know if you interested in movies in the year 1989 um or and you probably weren't interested in this one but it was called Batman the movie I don't know if you've heard of that sorry yeah like it's like a man who dresses like a bat and fights crime I don't know it's not like a baseball bat not really your thing yeah as far as I know that's why they call him the Batman yeah yeah that makes sense um yeah anyway St uh St Michael Keaton uh oh the the comedian the comedian from Beetlejuice yeah started beetle juu and um uh of course we being we said him death threats cuz he's comedian he should not be in this

yeah that's right yeah that's that's certainly The Logical and sane thing to do I think it's funny because obviously he was our first Batman and so we just know him as Batman and potentially one of the most awesome Batmans that there has ever been um if he's not the very best he's still in the top three you know he's second to Adam West I think that story so for listeners who don't know Michael Keaton did get death threats when he was cast as Batman because people like Batman fans were like he can't he you can't be Batman I'm going to [ __ ] kill you to make sure you're not Batman this is back before the internet and Twitter and all that people were right this also when only Adam wested played him like who did they want so I wonder is that the first

example of like CU I mean obviously this probably happens to actors who get cast in very well-known roles all the time was a comic book yeah I wonder if this is one of the first examples of that but then also what a [ __ ] middle finger that film is to all of those critics I know like because he's fantastic yep he's good the movie is good the only thing that's not good about that is the pop songs that everyone was forced to include yeah the Prince soundtrack that nobody except some person at the studio wanted yeah um but it may pleased you to know Matt uh if you like Michael Katon as Batman and I know you do and Luka I know you do too like confirmed returning to the role of Batman in the upcoming Flash movie that's [ __ ] rad confirmed filming it now Ezra don't know if it's

going to be like a scene or big part don't care M it could be one second they could walk past him and he just Winks at the camera yeah no I I know the context if you want to know it might be a spoiler I know the context for it listeners skip ahead two minutes if you don't want to hear a spoiler this could be I mean this might be not true I read this online but the but my understanding of the context is that the you know the flash can travel backwards and forwards in time we've established Justice League so somehow The Flash ends up in a parallel universe where Michael Keaton's Batman is Batman and he and and this article said that he teams up with Michael Keaton Batman to to you know resolve the film so oh that sounds a bit more than a scene exact that sounds

[ __ ] Rad but I've also read that Ben Affleck is in this movie is that conf that's true that's that yeah I read that too yeah this is sounding a little bit like Spider-Man into the spiderverse yeah that's what I thought too so I'm hoping that Ben Affleck gets a better a better shot at playing Batman this time we'll see who in this do we know it's a very good question is is someone Ben Affleck not going to want to kill himself over remember when he was originally going to write and direct the Batman movie and then he went I'm not going to write it I'm going to it's if if it's good I'm going to direct it and then he go B I'm not directing yeah I feels so bad for Imagine cuz imagine that right you're like that they come to you and they're like we want you to be Batman you can

write and direct a Batman film be like it's so [ __ ] yeah and play Batman and then like so he starts training gets into shap he's writing this film he presents the scpt and they're like here's some notes and he's like oh no and then they're like here's some more notes here's some more notes he's like I don't this is not my script anymore I'm not going to direct it all right fine but you are going to be in this other movie and we fired Zack Snider now so here's here's Jos Weeden yeah try not to look too miserable while you do these pickup scenes well that may have helped maybe the director is a gentleman by the name of and I'm going to take a big deep breath here Andre

musti who is a sounds Italian yeah Argentinian actually okaying to this um director of it and it chapter 2 all right all right and also 2013 horror movie called Mama yeah he did Evil Dead Am I Wrong did he coming up on my list [Music] Falcon and Winter Soldier I have now okay has Dan no no but I have watched the first two okay and I've gone talk about we could talk about the first two now right I've gone from not at all interested in into quite interested yeah that's what happened to me as well the third not that good okay the the third

episodes I found a bit hard to watch I don't know why it is slower in fact ha's bowed out of the third episode and going to push on myself probably after this picked up again really well for last three mhm yeah it's very good and I guess no spoilers but it does I mean by next week I would have definitely seen all of it so it sets up some stuff that clearly is for the next lot of films okay interesting so did you guys watch the trailer for shangqi no no I keep why I've got to say this looks good I wasn't super interested in the next wave Marvel but um I watched this I looked I like Hong Kong action movies and this looks like the best Hong Kong action movie in years I like that actor um I know him from Kim's Convenience I don't know that but it

also has Tony long in it that I know from the W car y movies and from infernal Affairs and he's excellent all right I got to watch the cuz I like I said I thought I was burned out on Marvel then I watch Falcon wi Soldier is actually quite good yeah and this looks good too this looks good and that's say with uh Marvel now we do get a little bit of a break it is two months yeah June is Loki right time for some Star Wars in the in the Black Widow widows which I still don't understand that like movie that no that should have come out 3 to 5 years ago yeah yeah cuz not only that bringing her back to life not only that they made it too late and then now it's been delayed so long it's just like oh God the the only thing that can redeem them is if

this is some how the best of the Marvel movies and I really don't how possibly be I've seen the trailer I know I couldn't make it through the trailer yeah boring I honest think they've left it too late and it's going to suffer for that it's going to Suffer Well to I mean you're right there because even like James Bond when the [ __ ] is that coming out and now that we even have to go back and refilm because if it if it is this year at all and now they're freaking out because like phone he has is a [ __ ] 2-year-old phone well they seems right apparently yeah they're going to they're going to have to change I don't know they're doing re-shoot but they going to have to fix all the product placement which is [ __ ] bizarre yeah it is bizarre Matt

except that it is the way of the future because I don't know if you've seen this article I've put in there but there is a company now who allow you to pay millions of dollars and have your product added in to old movies what yeah what so how does that work it works because movies are being put on streaming they're coming out on Blu-ray and you can pay to have brands that were in those movies replaced with your brand the late Steve McQueen who gave a memorable memorable performance in the movie gra that's it a memorable performance I remember that performance yeah to co that I remember you B that has gone on to advertise a great many things post humously since his death in

yes but that's a future thing mhm up to you guys maybe I'll put a green screen behind me I'm thinking about getting one as well Dan's got one when I go to work this week and ask for a full day week oh are you you're going to you're going to ask Wednesday's off forever yep I played a video game this week we don't have a lot of huge amount of gaming news this week but I did play briefly I'm not going to go on about it but I played Assassin's Creed valhal a little bit it's good okay good I recommend it to you in particular Dan I think you'd like it okay is this the Viking game we've always wanted it's pretty good yeah yeah how close as you're going to get yeah all right you can uh you can customize your beard and your uh tattoos oh just like in real

life you can you can customize your beard if you're playing the male character yes obviously I did switch to the female character but I her voice actor is not doing it for me so okay also beard I got to be able way you're meant to play it is you're meant to play both yeah that's odd that's an interesting thing that they did yeah if you pick the option just to play as both it'll change which character you're playing for different sort of missions and stories converging but no I won't do that it is an interesting concept it's I did enjoy game [ __ ] manic Mansion yes you can well you can switch on the Fly between male and female in it it's interesting yeah it's got uh some of the it's got some of the stupid stuff

from very old Assassin's Creed games where you got to collect things that move around the map but so far it hasn't been annoying you know like you collect those pieces of paper I do like the missions the side missions this time about their take on them yeah it's more casual like you don't it's more so like you have to listen to what they're saying cuz it doesn't go hey can you go do kill this Beast or do this and there's no way point to where you got to go you actually have to listen to what they're saying and then follow their directions yeah like if you're walking along hang on we wait's oh I see I got bro a snack he's got so like if you're walking around and and someone starts talking to you and says can you go do this if you don't go do it it's

not going to happen cuz you're not going to get a quest marker or a quest log like that you've just got to do it so it's cool you know different take on it and what they the reason for this is they wanted to make it very different to other ones because you're not really going to go in destroy a town steal a lot of supplies and then they're going to turn around go oh can you do this fetch mission for me now totally oh yeah you raid Dan you go out with your in your ship and then you like raid other V go a viking Ste their supplies yeah it's good [ __ ] do you um do recommend it no no no okay no I know what he's going to ask no all right so it's not accurate then not his no hit X hit

x no I should play this I don't know why I haven't already no I do know why because I've been [ __ ] wasting my time playing Conan again and consoles have finally finally got the big update so we have all this new [ __ ] we don't have the DLC yet that um PCS have had with the extra map additions but um we do have a bit of a refresh to the to the game play um but our server has been an absolute [ __ ] this week and I haven't been able to on so that's a thing I'm so disappointed with the server situation because it's not that it's like really expensive but it's expensive enough that it should [ __ ] work when I want it right it costs more than one of my TV subscriptions that work mhm so just fix the [ __ ] server it's and then and yeah we've had so many problems and the

other thing that bugs me that I know mentioned this to you offline Dan is that if I stop paying for it it goes away forever mhm and they don't email me reminders that it needs to be paid for you just have to log on when it's going to expire and pay for it through the Microsoft store otherwise oh it doesn't Auto renew no no it does not which is why we lost the first server we had Luke and I mean there's there's maybe some leeway because they didn't delete it last time when it they shut it off but they didn't tell me it was shut off I only knew because Dan tried to get on and said where's the server and I went on and said oh I've got to pay for it again and if I had not paid for it in a timely matter they would have deleted it mhm and that's gone exactly what

happened the first time which is why we're playing a new server this time cuz you can log in and back it up but it's a backup is good for 30 days and then they delete those two and you can't download them M they just they back them up on their service so I it's just so clunky yeah LC is like why are we playing this game again this game man it's so fun it's fun I've come up with an idea for subscriptions mhm go on cuz you know how a lot of time you have a subscription and then you forget it there but you keep paying for it forever I think that doesn't happen with me the world should come together and after 6 months if you haven't logged into an account it cancels that's the opposite of what companies want yeah I think I'm thinking for the people yeah Luke I think you

might be a communist just do people not go look at their credit card statements I mean obviously not what I do occasionally mat I I will admit to is that I'll have a yearly subscription of something that I will decide at some point in the year I'm not going to renew this next year and then one day I'm just like minus $150 I'm like [ __ ] some of them are good and they email you some of them are not and there are some that I I will say for example I think might be one of them mhm where you can't cancel until like the week of and so but they're not going to tell you when that is and then you know I might bleep the name of that that company because I don't know if it is them you like them there's one I do like them I I did

cancel mine because it's very expensive and I've watched all the stuff but yeah there are the there's certainly a company that I got charged this year because I couldn't cancel it back when I thought of it cuz they were like oh just cancel it the week before it's du and then they just don't tell you when that is and then yeah so that happens to me but the monthly ones um yeah yeah I see him so I'm putting out for the internet yeah if 6 months if there's no log cancel oh no login yeah see that seems like something Australia would do and America just would not yeah take away my right to [ __ ] charge you yeah exactly not fair Dan you're too crinkly you have to stop moving the bag all right last one you're just jealous I am jealous

except it's [ __ ] 8:00 a.m. and I can't eat well [ __ ] you both what do I have you got what do you got Alan's retro party mix what you got very good chips nice see what I did the other day hang on a sec oh it's downstairs now never mind I cleaned up my office it's all it's downstairs now I bought um I had a craving for chocolate right cuz Jenna wanted some dark chocolate and I was like want some milk chocolate and she doesn't like it so I'm like I'm just going to buy some milk chocolate but I don't want American chocolate cuz American chocolate is [ __ ] mhm and I was like what's a nice chocolate that I haven't had in a while this cadb and I was like you know what I remember and I

really liked milka remember milka oh yeah the ger German chocolate with like hazelnut mixed into it hazelnut paste so I ordered does it exist there I ordered 32 bars of milk of chocolate off Amazon they're in the basement now you'll never Cay for it again you're trying to put him as far away as possible because yeah this okay my my bar is no longer in this closet and neither is my chocolate Supply it's all in the basement cuz it's too dangerous it's just too easy it's too much too much whiskey too close to me MH yeah milk is good for the record I remember it being good I've not had it for a while either I don't eat a lot of chocolate these days but it was big in Australia for a while M like I we had that TV ads for and then just went away

yeah Cadre is good you can get Cadbury here but it's not the same it's made by Hershey's and it's just Hershey's ah yeah it was the same in Singapore you could buy tim tams but they were not tim tams yeah cuz my mom sent me a block of cadb chocolate and I was like oh my God it's so good but is chocolate like whiskey where it's like it's got to be this this this this or you can't call it bourbon but if it's this this you know then you could call it Tennessee whiskey I'm not sure I know the the I think the biggest difference here is it's all corn syrup M instead of cane sugar sugar well cane sugar is quite specific to Australia as well all the candy that comes out of Britain is from sugar beets not sugar can is that true yeah I think that's why they're all different over I

also think it's something to do with the melting point as well yeah yeah right Australia's got all the cane and some of Southeast Asia has sugar cane as well but not not many countries have sugar cane yeah cuz it's all CU over here but they're all made from Coca so I think that's the one thing that needs to be chocolate yeah ah chocolate but what do I know I don't like chocolate oh I go through phases that that that milk is going to be sitting down there for a bit so I'll become obsessed with something and eat it until I don't want it anymore yeah you either go through it in a day and then not touch it for months exactly when I came back to Australia for some reason I just wanted coconut rough all the time I had one every day for the first maybe two months don't have that

here do you know my mom sent me we don't have here Wagon Wheels oh I haven't had one of those in years they were my favorite when I was a kid though yeah so good and um Jenna's mom found darl Lee soft licorice somewhere here I don't know where it is but she bought me two bags of it and I ate it I ate both bags and then I remember you then poop a lot I ate the both bags and then I was sitting there like working and I just and my brain we talked about a guy on this podcast who ate so much licorice that he died and I was like oh [ __ ] so I had to look it up I think he ate more than two bags of it he he did he did yeah I did get n bags or something then because then I started getting stressed and then I was like well now I'm feeling what I'm getting I'm feeling hot and flustered

and it could be licorice poisoning but it's not it's just me being stupid I I ate a bag of of darly licorice bullets this week because they are [ __ ] great so good so good uh some new Apple stuff this week they announced yeah because it's the year 1999 and they're going to do multicolored IMAX I like the colored IMAX yeah they look good say I like them uh Luke's not going to give a [ __ ] about any of these products but uh no I got my new computer I'm happy but uh I like color the only the 24 in so it's not one that I would get uh 4 in no one's buying that no people do they buy I mean businesses buy them mostly I think they're good like bus multicolored I don't know I don't know about his decision but yeah your average I think your average Joe wanting a good

quality inexpensive inexpensive in air quo computer would probably grab that model iMac machines I mean I don't want to criticize Apple because they are raking in the cash but I find that Apple no longer know whether they audiences professionals or consumers absolutely agree cuz I think they'll put out the 27 in right which is one that I might be interested in at some point and I bet it won't be the colorful one it only come out in black and then I well not even it'll come out in silver and then the the the I wonder if they'll do a pro one still cuz the pro one is kind of that cooler darker gray color it's the one I got at work yeah so I don't know yeah you're right they just they they well they miss the mark with me anyway if they had a 27 in one came in those

colors I'd be interested in that but they probably won't it'll just come out in some boring color uh and then we got uh air tags which are interesting but frustratingly just little circles yeah that you have to put in a in a in a case to attach them to anything like why not make them [ __ ] attach somehow what are they okay so air tags it's it's like uh it's quite clever actually it's a little Circle that you can attach to say you put on your key ring right your phone or your computer all your Apple stuff using the the find my uh system that they use to you know find lost laptops and that can locate it like as in so the way it works is that any Apple devices even if

they're not your Apple devices all Apple devices are aware of the location of other Apple devices just via like a private you know private bluetoo like well like my iPhone say if if like say you know Dan comes around H or you don't have an iPhone anymore let's say Dan comes around and he has an iPhone we're really using our imaginations here he comes to America he comes around his iPhone the big imagination is leaving the country yeah that's right but my iPhone the big imagination is that Apple come out with a camera in the phone better than the pixel and I switch back Dan's iPhone comes into my house my iPhone knows there's another iPhone nearby and it knows the serial number of it right it's not necessarily going to tell me but Apple knows that our two

devices are near each other so if Dan's phone gets stolen and let's say it's not even let's say it's not a phone let's say Dan's got an air tag in his pocket yeah my phone knows get stolen let's just say I've I've got a water cash with a dollar bill money clip yeah and attached to that is my little ey tag yeah right so that gets stolen off Dan and I to the coffe the guy who stole it is at the coffee my phone knows there's an air tag over there goes that's Dan's that's Dan's money and then tells Dan your money is at the coffee shop and then I can confront the guy using yeah I was about to say and then and then it it sends you a text saying wait for Dan he's on his way and then you guys back yeah yeah and then I start beating him

and beating him and punched him in the face and it and they sent me a text going don't do it Matt it's not worth it well this and I'm like shut up Tim shut up Tim Cook I'll [ __ ] do what I want yeah we'll do to you what we did to [ __ ] Steve yeah I'll get my bat and I'll I'll say Batman's here and I'll I think what you can do then is let's say you're obsessed with a lady um you can attach one of these tags to her then go on your device and say I [ __ ] lost my [ __ ] device and it'll be like don't worry I'll tell you where she is it will after uh a period of time that it is away from you start making a noise ah so I assume to combat that particular scenario so if you were to slip one of

these into someone's bag I think after presumably I mean probably too long in some cases but I think after a period of time 24 hours whatever they decide whatever they decide it's going to be it'll start making a noise to say hello I'm in here and then so the person can go what the [ __ ] is that it's an air tag and then call the cops or whatever yeah or call or text me and I'll me and my bat will come and sort it out yeah anyway they're pretty neat people are going to freak out about the uh security issues I'm sure because there is some question as to how it's okay American government's already put the chip in you with the the vaccine that's true that's true I got my first chip get my second chip in a week I mean you've breathed in a lot of chem trails anyway so you've

been pacified in the way that they you to be I eat the food and I you know drink the water although I've got a I've got a reverse osmosis water filter system that I installed RSE osmosis Jesus handyman Matt conquers science I did have to make sure I put in the right way I didn't want to osmosis machine I wanted Jesus imagine you were osmosis all the water that came your house it's just putting Osmos into my water yeah yeah isn't that a character from Watchmen osmosis yeah you just said something and it reminded me of something that I've never forgotten was it about air tags or was it about Batman was it about reverse osmosis under my sink it wasn't about any of those and yet now I feel I've got that feeling like I've Miss I'm missing
