Doctor Hugh: Spider-Man No Way Home, Only Murders & Doctor Who

so I know one of you finished watching Spider-Man this week and I want to know did you cry like me no one cries like you Luke welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy I forgot to put it in here but yeah I did watch Spider-Man did you not watch it yet Dan no I haven't I'm still only half way through I'm I'm happy for spoilers so we can discuss yeah all right now Spider-Man wins which one I was going to say which one actually what if them doesn't win although actually where where I'm up to there's only there's still only one I you'll find the audience wins that was good I liked it uh I didn't cry I'm curious there there were a couple bits

where I was like oh this could be what Luke was talking about I mean one for sure I think I know what what upset you MH and then there were a couple others where I was like could be that there was a nice little moment with Andrew Garfield that I was like oh well yeah I like Andrew I do like that yeah Andrew Garfield s spoilers that's pretty massive spoilers considering he spent a year saying I'm not in this movie guys I'm not in it sorry to disappoint you but I'm pretty sure even if you yeah listen to podcast will definitely know they're in it toy McGuire and so good to see Toby McGuire back [ __ ] love him as Spider-Man yeah Toby Maguire is Spider-Man as far as I'm concerned that's yeah and I know kids probably go that guy but yeah man that when that

movie came out yeah and and [ __ ] William defo I didn't so I didn't get spoiled on a lot of stuff and so I guess listeners sorry some spoilers I didn't know he was going to be in this that much will no even Alfred Molina I mean we saw okay there's going to be a bit of Doc O but it's like no bam major character what a joy just to see those characters again yeah loved it and all in the same room like all sharing screen time yeah I think the scene that I really love the most is when like they were all the Spider-Man were sort of sitting around and they were just talking about their sort of lives like Toby McGuire talking about how like it's been hard but I've sort of made it work with Mary Jean and and then Andrew sort of talking about how he's just more of got a bit darker

where he's sort of just I'm just out there cuz he lost his and it was nice that he got that little bit of redemption at the end yes that's I was going to say that moment was nice I was like guys yeah please watch into the spiderverse what's what's that Dan I'm not I'll beg you I'll beg you I can't believe how how difficult it is to get you two to watch an amazing film I don't know why I just I've TR I've started to watch it and I just I've got no interest in it I did like that I think it's jimy fox says I wonder if somewhere out there there's a black Spider-Man yeah that that made me laugh cuz there is MHM but yeah I I did say like Spider-Man win at the end but really he sort of doesn't Spider-Man never really wins so does he we don't I don't know the

ending it's interesting right cuz just talking to Jen about it afterward and this is going to be a spoiler obviously so sorry I think we're okay for spoilers like this did come out last year well all right Dan says okay I think yeah know fine by me yeah so at the end of the movie for plot reasons or possibly for contractual reasons which is why it bugs me a bit the way to solve the whole problem is that doctor strange has to make everybody forget literally forget Peter Parker yeah like no one in the world knows who Spider-Man or Peter Parker is he's just a stranger and and it's like oh okay so they can disconnect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe I think that might have been an out but they have sort of come back and said this going to

be another three two weeks before the movie air they did that and so that's why it just bugs me a bit cuz I'm like oh that's cuz it's it is a bit clunky and then it's like unnecessary now so it just bummed me out like why'd you do that that's weird cuz it was sort of it did end up a real doubter for him like no one knows who he's are his best friend his girlfriend not that MJ makes him promise right promise you'll come and remind me and he's like I will and then he goes in there and he's like nah and he leaves it's like the [ __ ] what are you doing although he I think he it's implied that maybe he was going back and Slow Rolling it cuz that maybe that would have be a little I mean they don't know they've had their memory wiped right it's not like he can go oh you

promised me a couple of weird sexual things before you had your memory was and they really skim over the specifics of it like he bumps into Happy later and happy doesn't know who he is and they're having a chat but happy knows about other stuff and it's like how does this work ah don't worry about it yeah yeah yeah yeah don't worry about it and it is also what I think you do have to just just accept something things cuz it is it is a comic book movie yeah don't worry just don't think about it too much just move on no one knows who he is yeah my favorite part of F that I've seen and bear in mind I've only seen half is where Doctor Strange his house is full of [ __ ] snow this is where you first and Doctor Strange enters through the portal and then just

slips a little bit on the ice and they like don't make a big deal out of her anything it's just this big entrance and then a a little slip at the end amazing and it made me remember how much I like Benedict Cumberbatch and I'm looking forward to the doctor strange movie now based solely on that the new directed by Sam Ry and I was like imagine Sam Ramy directed this Spider-Man that had Toby McGuire and William defo and oh man and that would have been so [ __ ] epic but I mean it's just that something that I thought about I love Benedict Wong is great as where he's like just leave me out of it yeah he's such a straight man yeah so good yeah well you don't have log to wait for the next Doctor Strange it's the 5th of May that's great that's a

couple of weeks right very soon mhm it's no Revenge yeah it's a couple of months all right it's a month and a bit month and a bit I don't know I've was lost all track of time there is a there is a movie coming out this week that I have no interest in seeing and like going to that's Mobius or morus or morus man Reddit really wants me to see that [ __ ] every ad is for that godamn movie I forgot it was coming out this week when's moonnight out also actually soon I think that's soon as well I think that's this month and what I love about this I mean I noticed from the trailer that Oscar Isaac is talking in a British accent and I thought that this is great I'm I'm I'm in for this full character you know envelopment um but then he's

come out this week and said that he's based his accent on Carl Pilkington and I think that's amazing now I'd love to know how many Americans are going to know who KY P I love that he knows who he is such a fringe character it's just going to have a winge the whole show about things well you can find out on the 30th of March oh that's that is the first episode comes out four [ __ ] days away all right listeners by the time you're hearing this oh yeah you'll be like what are they talking about it's already out I think I've come up with a rule about how where how I like shows released okay all right if an episode is sort of under 40 about 30 minutes or under I'd like the entire series released okay y if this if the episodes

are like 45 above I want that released weekly anything in between what it could go either way can you justify that decision or is this just a feeling well because 30 minutes is not enough clearly not enough for a one a week like if if it's only 30 minutes I want 10 hours if it's 45 minutes I don't know I've got time for that what the thing I look at the thing I look at is cuz sometimes you don't know how much you're going to binge but if the 30- minute blocks you can you can easily that's true of everything not just TV you don't know we're going to open this box of Skittles we're going to see what happens but if if it's going to be like another hour that's a long time to sort of watch so that you like having that

bit of a break and also it being an hour gives you a bit more time to digest sure but there's a strange phenomenon about this whole thing that you've just touched on inadvertently Matt like it'll be 8:30 at night I'll go I don't think I could watch a whole movie I don't want to give my attention to a whole movie I'll just watch an episode of something and then I'll watch three episodes of something yep like watch a movie yeah I don't understand Batman I don't have three three hours but seen that yet I'm exclusively watching the xfiles at the moment I finished season one this morning [ __ ] I am so immersed in this and I forgot how much they just leaned into the supernatural [ __ ] in my mind it was always like is it real is it not real no it's all [ __ ] real they show

you stuff right from the start yeah they may not see it but you see it yeah yeah yeah skul's always like I don't know are you [ __ ] serious yeah yeah well I don't know the episode that I watched today where she's taking a [ __ ] alien fetus out of a [ __ ] test tube it's like Scully [ __ ] knows yeah I don't I just don't know yeah could be a coincidence I started watching just before start recording I started watching the new Halo okay I'm I'm super curious to see here how this so did you watch the whole episode or you've watched part of an episode I'm I'm I'm about halfway in and this is where I came up with my rule about with the releasing in the bunch and everything it's because this is goes for this

episode goes for an hour oh so it's too long right too long well it' be too long if they released the entire Series in one go cuz I'd have to I'd want to binge it all sure how many and not pay attention to have it I don't actually know I should look into that okay my my baby just brought me a juice so I wasn't listening did you like it I saw the juice I haven't had it yet it's good actually it's very good what is it it's green it's kale juice yeah I drink kale juice now sorry Steve Jobs to be clear I don't only drink kale juice I eat and drink other things as well you know drinking it as a medicinal that's right I don't think it's going to cure cancer yeah sorry spoilers it didn't but one thing I found weird it's they've made sort of the female Spartans sexy oh

yeah that sounds fine of they're sort of walking I was going to say I don't know you mean they're acting sexy or you mean like their armor is shaped like a beautiful female form oh Luke was like that's weird I've Got a Boner what is oh am I jerking off I hope there's a woman inside I mean I do like their armor their armor is very feminine and they're sort of walking hips are swaying and I'm sort of like you're not walking like you've been trained from a six-year-old to be a warrior are they um okay I'll leave that alone Catwoman in the Arkham games that God yes it's a bit like that but I'm enjoying it so far it's sort of the way it sort of started off it I thought it was going to start off a bit earlier but

this is like a couple of years into the C you can watch it whenever you want it's on streaming but I was sort of hoping they were going to they sort of did start showing off how the insurrectionist are fighting like Earth and but then I think they're going to go straight into the Covenant War so I don't think they're going to go too much but they are I think they're going to start showing how how much um Hoy howy I can't pronounce her name now is a bit of uh she's a genius but she will also do anything oh yeah so as in she was the one who masterminded kidnapping sixy olds who trained them into soldiers I'm a genius but literally anyone can [ __ ] me any way they want that is genius well I don't know if you do remember do you remember the

first and second game where there was um Emerald keys I remember warthog I remember Dave shooting me that's what I remember I remember there the big blue guys with the shields I remember not being able to drive the warthog very well I remember the Arbiter who talks like this don't remember him yep okay well yeah the grave mind he was in there wasn't he yes yes that was came in the second one I remember things yep so no look I'm enjoying it so far tonally what's it like we'll see though television show spot on mhm no but that's what I was worried about is it serious I I wanted you to say was it's a dark cinematic experience it's it's it's it's serious it's not dark okay cuz the sun was out sure yeah y right

fair is it like anyone say like a banther no thank God good any mods in there but it does it does really sound he sounds like he does sound like the Mandalorian though okay in and that's annoying me a bit well that's just a processed helmet voice right yeah yeah doesn't Master Chief sound like that oh I suppose you you are Master Chief so maybe Master Chef Gordy sound like that there's Nine episodes okay all right so this is on uh Amazon did I make that up Paramount plus series like the expanse or serious like Raised by Wolves what I'm trying I'm trying to align what kind of tone I want to serious like the serious like the expanse nothing serious like raised by wolf yeah that's its own

thing nothing's going to compare to that cuz yeah that show goes many different directions this a metaphor we've got to raise these little metaphors have you seen season two yet no I haven't started season 2 yet there's in the first season it's a bit weird like you've got there's like two different shows happening yeah like I feel that like when you got like the the robots raising the children that's one show and then when you've got sort of the religious cult that's a different show I haven't even watched they back up and they show those other guys escaping and oh [ __ ] man yeah I got to watch the rest of this that's another one where when I was watching it going am I aroused right now I can't tell if I am one thing I'm a bit worried about season 2 because normally I like when

the first season was out I saw a lot of ads for Raised by Wolves this time I've gone on to Prime video and I can't I'm having trouble even finding it's not even a like here it is you need to watch this so oh guys remember earlier in the year when I was just absolutely raving um about a new show called archive 81 which is kind of like VHS horror yeah don't bother they've canceled it they have canceled it so I was going to ask you about this cuz I I saw that too and cuz I I was going to watch it but it's so good but midle [ __ ] nowhere no major Cliffhanger ending yeah like you could tell that the people who made it were like go on [ __ ] man season 2 is got to be nuts yeah nope no that's a bummer yeah oh I think I just realized

why I can't find race by wolves on Prime oh because it's on not on Prime in Australia it's on binge I forgot about buried that show it's not even on the platform anymore I forgot all about binge yeah Bing Bing is awful so I had I try to forget that you've said that there's a service called binge in Australia oh it's ridiculous yeah and not only that whenever they use it in the word binge in their marketing as like a verb they keep the E even when they add an ing because they don't want to misspell their own trademark word and so you constantly see spelling mistakes and it's it's really it's really awful but look I really think like with shows like archive and stuff shows like that I

think they when they're doing their contract I think there should be a contract like if we don't get renewed you give us an hour and a more just tie everything up I I mean I I think that would be nice but often I imagine in the industry you're lucky to get what you get true yeah and also sometimes that can be so unsatisfying remember when Serenity came out and they were like we've crammed three seasons worth of ideas for Firefly into one one movie here you go we've wrapped everything up I I still liked it but then also you get annoyed of like you s like you can see where some of these story arcs how they would have I found really unsatisfying yeah yeah totally like with yeah like you can

find out like what was it was it book I forget who was the the sort of Minister guy B you remember those shepher oh right shepher like finding about like about his past life would have been interesting cuz even in the movie it was a no not going to tell you you're not going to find out now where you knew that he'd done some [ __ ] I'm pretty sure in the comics you can find that stuff out I I didn't but I'm I'd have to read Comics yeah I have some of them haven't read them I can't read Comics I've tried you can't read anything pictures there words too many words in them it's like it's it's like it's trying to trick me into reading words yeah wait a minute this is a book it's got Pages it's got words in it

you sons of if I get a comic book I read it in like 5 minutes I'm not really enjoying I know it I'm done and then yeah cuz you force myself to look at the art too cuz I just want to cons as a as a book reader often I find I got to go now hang on a minute take in what the visuals are just the words and like if they've if they've made a whole page for you for one square they want you to stare at that and you know what I mean that's to slow you down not to speed you up not to go right it's not like one page page and it's just got one word and it's like oh that's a waste of paper W they're really light on their light on story this week yeah it's got this beautiful artwork it just just says she

died yeah so a show that didn't get cancelled but actually probably could have wrapped up if it wanted to is only murders in the building they they had to really stretch to Cliffhanger that to be honest yeah so but we could have just I would have been quite happy with this being a one shot like no Cliffhanger just they find out who the murderer is and over I think they had so much fun making this that they were like [ __ ] we're doing another one oh I enjoy I I also have a feeling that this is probably I have a feeling that this was cheap to make as well yeah yeah maybe yeah you think Steve Martin and Martin these days yeah um no no no I just bet like even yeah but a lot of it is just the

three of them talking yeah a lot like there like it's not like archive 81 where yeah would have been a lot of money sure EXT arive 81 is it's very similar premise in a way of just localized it's not talking it's one guy watching videos of another woman stumbling around one apartment block so funnily enough it probably wouldn't that I wasn't attempting to make it sound good but the the the good thing about this cuz this sort of show came out of nowhere originally yeah when I saw I saw a picture them and I was like oh that's great I'll watch and so season 2 it's not like it's uh it's been announced and we have

to wait it's coming out in June yeah oh great your little birthday present I will definitely watch this again I will too yeah just a solid funny I I probably would have let this go by too even though I like the MS but I hadn't really got my eye on this and then when you two saw it and you were like no man you got to watch it yeah we watched we threw the episode on up in Vermont and we were like oh just throw we don't want to watch anything they were kind of like in the setup's yeah the setup's different up there it's just like a TV up there and oh let's try this and put it on we're like oh boy okay this is great yeah this is good it's funny clever the story is like good enough yeah good enough

yeah or anything but it's yeah it's good yeah yeah the execution and the characters that make it good and actually Martin Short can rub me the wrong way sometimes and he didn't in this at all I I found his his particular style of acting perfectly suited to this character and this Ro yeah I think he was doing a different over-the-top character this time like I don't I don't I I don't want to say he he pulled it back or anything cuz he his character was still out there just felt different he's mature I don't think he was he wasn't it wasn't an annoying over the toop yeah I think and I think it was self-deprecating enough too I think it wasn't almost a parody of himself in a way yeah yeah when I first met you I was young I was fresh you were in your late [Laughter]

40s and Steve Martin the man who just never ages I know cuz he's always been still love that scene where man walks in and it's what's her name from um what's the the the singing show Glee It's that go his stunt double and he and he like Martin short walks in and he goes I don't know what you've had done but it's it's too much too much yeah very funny a yeah okay I'm looking forward to it now I'm excited mhm there's a lot of good stuff coming out this year yes what do we got there is some more TV news we talked about doctor who recently and how Jody fosterer j Whit J Whitaker Jody Foster is definitely still not going to be Doctor Who we've confirmed that Whit she wouldn't even come back to be Clarice

starling for a second movie um Jody Whitaker apparently is not continuing on after the next season I guess and there are rumors that Hugh Grant is up for uh doctors gu they've done they've done woman tick back to bumbling man yeah old white man um I'm okay with would this be a big get or is this a I I don't know know these days I like H Grant actually yeah I'll not say anything bad but like 20 years ago this would have been huge yeah but do you guys yeah do you remember how royally he [ __ ] his own career pun intended like sure I I I what I remember I'd never seen someone sabotage their own life so complet I remember CU this is when we were we were young obviously and I remember it came out the time that he

you know he was what married to right Liz Hurley and and then it come out that he had he had been cheating on her with or like left her for some some prostitute just got caught in a [ __ ] car and then I I remember just thinking why would he do that yeah that's what everyone was saying like why I mean obviously it's it's way more complicated than that but as a kid like as a teenager I was like what a [ __ ] idiot um wasn't he just giving her a lift no she was giving him a [ __ ] oh that's right cuz Eddie Murphy Eddie Murphy was giving them Eddie Murphy was giving him a [ __ ] no Eddie Murphy was giving a prosecutor lift that's his story on that one right she flagged me down I pulled over she told me where she wanted to go

which I was also going to that hotel so that was [Laughter] convenient but with Doctor Who I I really think they need to go off and take a break from Doctor Who for a few years I really do I mean it's wored for them before it's wor they ran Doctor Who into the ground and then there was a Hiatus and then they came back I don't think they need to go as long this time but I think the fans the fans are a bit crazy and they need a break do what you did with Columbo just yeah bring him back out every now and then yeah I mean it's a different actor obviously in this case well hold on is Tom Baker still alive CU I reckon just bring back Tom Baker I think he is that would I think too that would be great right but maybe maybe

just do like the Christmas episode for like 3 years and then come back with the show again sure last thing I remember Tom Baker being in was Little Britain yes which I I never cared for little Brit really it was no really I like it occasionally occasionally they'd come out with something that would really tickle me but just the fact that it was the same joke every episode I just couldn't get on board yeah yeah just I just found them quite annoying it's that it's catchphrase humor basically and did you ever watch their other shows I don't remember the second one those was the airplane one the airplane one is the one I was going to the that's the one they got in the most trouble over and I don't

know if you've never seen it [ __ ] hell I no I don't know this one it's called come fly with me just basically all yeah all stereotypes but like they're they're like every race they'll they they'll play any they'll play any race in this like and be be offensive and it was just like [ __ ] me who who let them make this and went put that time it got canceled it was and it wasn't it wasn't long enough ago for it to be it was a something of the time it was I think it got canceled after the first episode but then it still went on to streaming services cuz they put on TV and they were like we we can't show people this mhm um we will be soon disappeared for a minute Talk Amongst yourselves all right and run downstairs to get painkillers so I'll be back in a

moment run please continue I can tell you the story now if you want doesn't to be cut out though okay that's all right cut out so all right I'll be happy in about 5 10 minutes right cuz you're going to get kicked in the balls yep love getting kicked in the balls it's my thing can't it was Luke you missed my story I'm I'm going to keep in the bit where you go okay I'm going to tell you the story now and then I'm going to skip ahead to Luke going I love to get kicked in the balls and then just let the listeners wonder what the [ __ ] story was about well that's fine with me subnautica who's been playing subnautica man I have have you played this game I said I've played the first one I haven't played the second one simulator so I don't know how this this

passed my radar because I so I wanted something to play that was a little bit casual cuz I've been playing cyber Punk a bunch I just wanted to play something that wasn't a little mind kind of and I was like what have we got on the xbo for that CU I got a lot of that kind of stuff on PC but I don't have a PC these days you know like Minecraft and all these and I was like what's the survival kind of games you know like Conan that's what I was looking for something a bit more casual than Conan yeah and I found this video on um Xbox Survival titles and then this [ __ ] Suba set comes on and the guy's showing this game and I was like my God this looks perfect so subnautica for those who don't know apparently Dan you've never seen it

either okay no cuz maybe I thought maybe it was just me no so it's um the premise is you you were on a spaceship it crashed on a planet that's water it's a water Planet so it's in the Star Wars Universe cuz it's it's only an ocean planet yeah you're the only only Survivor that you that you're aware of and you crash in your Escape pod floating in the ocean and in the Escape pod is this fabricator machine that has blueprints to make certain things and you have to survive and and so you get up on top of the life pod look around it's just water and in the distance is the crashed ship it's like [ __ ] huge and so you jump in the water and it's just like coral reefs and like fish and creatures and you collect stuff and build things you build like uh

aquatic habitat like devices and like James Cameron style underwater equipment from things you collect it's [ __ ] awesome it's basically like Conan in in the scenario I just described how alien or does it just look like a earth ocean uh no it's pretty alien the water is sort of generic it's got like Avatar Style you know glowing [ __ ] and then part of part of it is you go deeper into these caves that go in and then as you get further down there's all bioluminescence and there these [ __ ] terrifying huge creatures that glow and stuff it's and there's combat in it as well not as such not really no you can you have a little knife that you can stab fish with to eat or just to be a c but yeah look the

good what I think makes this a bit different and I the reason why I probably found this a bit more enjoyable than something like Conan is there actually an end game ah yeah so there's a there's a plot you can ignore it but there is a plot yeah like the whole idea is you're trying to escape the plan there's an end game to conand too if you if you focus on it yeah that's true actually yeah it's a little more I think you're less guided in Conan in this is literally you you have cuz one of the early things you do is repair your radio and so there's like a there's progression but you could ignore it right likees I think I've just started playing the sequel subnautica below zero which one were you got into

playing the first one or the first one yeah it's on Game Pass so you can just both of them are on Game Pass okay no it's it's really good and and it's exactly what I wanted it's it's like like Conan but it's underwater on an alien planet which is interesting and it's got a Sci-Fi feel to it uh and it's like I said there's not like I said there's not really combat like you just want to avoid all the big monsters okay [ __ ] that like they'll just kill you can't go there yeah it's not a combat game no you just kind of Potter around but then like I I mean I haven't gotten that far yet but I believe you end up building like submarines and [ __ ] and then you go explore further Into the Depths and yeah and as an

island and I've said too much I've said enough perhaps if and also if you just achievements you can unlock them all you can unlock them all within an hour well without cheating you can lock them all within an hour do you have to jump on anybody's head to kill them oh I think it might be I still need that encoding it might have multiplayer but even if it doesn't check it out anyway Dan because I think you might like it okay and then maybe if it has multiplayer that could be thing okay yeah that could be a thing sequel does definitely so there's another game coming out soon that has multiplayer Co-op that again I know we're not going to but the first thing I thought of was this would be fun to play with you guys

have you seen the trailer for the new Ghostbusters game no yes and guess who's doing one of the voices in it our friend Rahul oh oh you know what I did know that I did know that sorry yes that's great I I haven't seen the trailer but I it looks pretty fun uh and it's co so this is made by the guys who made Friday the 13th I think oh and it's yeah so it's it's not C in the sense of of like the last Ghostbusters game where you play through a story this is one of those the new formats the 4v1 oh it's one of those so yeah you got like four people one team and then you're trying to capture the ghost two's on the other team like uh dead by dead by daylight day yeah yeah yeah the [ __ ] Halloween add-on for that did we

talk about this I played that at PX East one year it's one person Michael Myers and when he's around it goes oh that's great and I literally got Shivers like just playing it at packs and I was like [ __ ] I I really want to play that game but that's a game you need to play with people you're not exactly it's it's the game's not for me just that it just got that one moment was just really cool and then after that I was like no this is not for me but yeah like cuz if I wanted to play it now I'd have to play with complete strangers which I think would take the fun out of it cuz it's even it's on Game Pass oh right one one you can be the ghost oh do I be Slimer or can I be a different ghost can I be the ghost that

sucks off D Acro you'll definitely be able to be Slimer I don't know who the other got unlock slim sucking him off oh no he a woman right there was a woman at first you do see I got sucked off by a ghost was it Slimer no it was a it was a woman it was a woman what's all this I think Slim was it oh no that's that's me I I I I come green yeah envious come oh that's my new game thought suppos disgusting or around also sounds like envious oh never mind I've been banned one of the Lesser known teachers in Hogwarts oh it's envious come en

oh that's very good um did you speaking of twitch did you see this week there was a this chess Grandmaster like an actual chess Grandmaster got banned from twitch because he live streamed himself watching Dr disrespect play chess against another streamer oh and Dr disrespect was banned from I know it's like So Meta yeah wow but he got he got so this and this is a very famous like chess Master who's about to go into some tournament and it's he's and he's saying like can we sort this out please I'm really I you know I've got other [ __ ] to worry about yeah but yeah he is they yeah twitch really do not like Dr dis and not like even I think ban people tell people not to just by voice chatting with him in a game that's so odd and you know

what's worse too like not wor I don't know if we followed up on this but um he and twitch you know settled their lawsuit cuz he sued twitch m over it it got settled and basically neither of them admitted fault it got settled and nobody knows what the [ __ ] it was even about because we don't we don't know why no one knows why he was banned he just got banned yeah and it wasn't a like a day or it was no you're no longer on this platform and he he' done things wrong before like when he was he was live streaming from the bar toilet like that and but but that was like earlier and he'd already been like you know suspended I still go back to I think it is honestly just that he got he was using the the Microsoft streaming one mixer as a way to try and negotiate a

new contract and then they got ped off that's yeah yeah right that's what I think it is but it annoys me that he's he's sort of been vocal about it and doing the lawsuit but then doesn't say anything well he maybe he can't that's that's why yeah yeah but I just thought it was wild that this guy who's like a very well-known successful guy all he did was like watch this chess game that included that person and he got banned that's just like and to be fair people did warn him in the chat oh you might get banned for this and he said well I'm sure it's fine and then it wasn't yeah cuz he's probably going it's fine cuz I've watched plenty of other chess TN because it's actually that's what I do would kind of be silly if I got banned for oh I've been banned that is yeah and it is

I don't know it is weird I just don't know maybe well maybe there's some legal reason like to do the lawsuit but you'll never know I I yeah it'll definitely just be because it was do disrespect no no I know but maybe there's some terms of his like settlement with them where like they can't have him appearing on the platform something stupid like that they can't appear to be makation right exactly yeah right like yeah anyway just remind me of it but I don't I thought all the twitch shops getting silly cuz I think people starting to try and watch television shows on it yeah and Bo just stream themselves watching a TV straight up television show this happened about a month ago where people were just stream streaming anime just not just the making

commentary as they went or just streaming like I I don't know I wouldn't say commentary I would say com they were just reacting watching the show okay sure and they might say something but yeah and I think one of them I think one stream is also talking about getting a thing with one of the cooking shows about so he could stream that and react to him watching that and you're just making that confusing for all the other streamers out there as well sure I think there should just be a you cannot watch television you can't watch can't stream copyrighted content guess but then yeah but I think it also gets confusing if he goes into a deal with that copyrighted show to be able to stream but then it also gets confusing with how does that work

worldwide yeah because a lot of the television shows the rights are like per country they sell this so while yes in America you might get they might agree to the rights but in Australia no Channel 10's got that yeah oh my God speaking ofan far too confusing he just reminded me cuz neighbors neighbors is cancell neighb is canel finally wa is it yes no more neighbors gone neighbors has been alive longer than I have neighbors yeah it's I think last I don't think that's quite true I think it was early 80s I think we are slightly older than neighbors but but it's been certainly been on since we were very very young since before I don't remember a world without it but yeah evident um just got the cuz most of the funding

quite a l Aussie actresses and actors and actresses were on Neighbors at some point oh yeah it's a good start if if what you want to do is springboard but I think if you just stay there your whole life you're not making enough money that you can never work again but that's not why I mentioned Channel 10 I I I never watch free to wear TV right I wouldn't even know how to turn my TV onto Free To Wear I'm sure I could figure it out but I wouldn't know you have to plug it into the aerial on the roof yeah yeah exactly my mother-in-law was over the other day and um she wanted to watch 10 News Channel 10 news so put it on channel 10 watching the news now I I know the news is not objective it's you know there there's

subjectivity in the news everyone knows that but I thought most mainstream news services that weren't like either Fox News on the right or some of the extreme left went out of their way to kind of at least fake that they're unbiased right but 10 anym 10 news last night right had a segment about how the Chinese are making deals in the Solomon Islands and speculators are saying they could they could end up putting an Air Force Base there which would be very close to Australia you know um within range of ballistic missiles and stuff like that potentially right it's just a rumor but then they cut to um Scott Morrison Prime Minister of Australia saying no I'm well aware of the deals that the chines making in the Solomon Islands and U it's got absolutely nothing to do with

military conquests and um there's there's no chance that there'll be a military base put there it then immediately cuts to a clip from Seinfeld where Jerry goes it's not a lie if you believe it then Cuts back to the Anchor oh wow so it's like legit like YouTube style like yeah right yeah I couldn't believe it the [ __ ] news yeah yeah that's interesting I mean we better I think some Chinese investors in Orbin when we live there oh yeah wonder if they're popping in some missos there as well that's right probably were yeah yeah yeah that's uh that's W news here is terrible I don't watch it for that reason yeah they do a lot of that kind

of stuff but yeah yeah they all have own agendas yeah I know it's funny to think like has it always been like that Channel 10's agenda like I don't I don't know AG we just did we just hit 40 and then now we watch the news and we're like wait a minute these guys got their [ __ ] opinions about everything this is not facts this is just opinions whereas when we were kids we like it's the news yeah that's the news yeah yeah just the facts ma'am before we get off games uh entirely a little blast from the past um uh Ken and um Roberto Williams um creators of Siera who made all the quest games back in the day

king's quest first and then police Quest space Quest um which I loved played every single one of those massive part of our childhoods huge huge they got bored in lockdown and made a game they got bored yeah that's great first game they've made in 20 years I mean I I'd love a '90s era pointand click well there weren't point and click actually theirs were more they were later text adventure with animated yeah probably but uh it's not that it's it's fully realized 3D exploration game I think but it's coming out they're releasing it so yeah now they're not going back I don't think they're going back into doing this as full time they just got bored and went let's do this and yeah there's an I won't there's a a website play game I'm glad they're still

married after all these years digital antiquarian antiquarian does a does a basically went from the beginning of video games all the way through it talks about particular games on the on the way you can actually download the whole series of all his blog posts uh onto your Kindle as Kindle books and they're just it's ongoing this is like a I don't know how long it's been going on but it's fascinating and there was one about the about Ken and Roberto Williams and how um he was their game what was the game was the very their very first game to feature Graphics yes was like and um she would games of text Adventures yeah exactly they would doing text adventures and then they did like ones with like it they look like they were made in like

Doss paint yeah cuz the Apple too they got that he got the he got an apple to and he was like I reckon I could make this display some image so she drew them and he was like all right tried to put them in there and it's just and if you look at them now it's like so crude Yeah just they made much money because everyone was just freaking out about it cuz they didn't have games with you know images in them full display yeah so cool and he's Still rocking the mo good great now these guys are obviously hugely influential do you know they tried to acquire ID back in the day really I didn't know that no it's it was never known John Romo has come out recently and just said uh a long a long

enough time has passed that that I can say that we were actually in talks at one stage um to letting them acquire it Sierra online yeah it was Sierra online at the time yeah Sierra were like the one of the biggest now and now it's just weird how you can go from the top to disappearing I feel like the quality dropped I mean yeah honestly and and the industry changed I think because I mean and we wanted when I was when I was a kid I wanted to make games because it was just a tiny group of friends would make games and that's what games were and then kind of around the time we graduated and started going to UNI it became no it's a m you need you need 200 people and 10 years yeah exactly and if you're a programmer you're not going to be doing anything

creative you're going to be typing in numbers so I kind of got disheartened about the whole thing back in the '90s and then it's sort of come back around again re scene is amazing cuz you got and Unreal Engine and stuff you can and then you've got like Xbox who Microsoft who's helping sort of Indie developers now like games like uh uh what's the stard valley it's just one guy made that yeah yeah amazing like well even if you look at um complete throwback to the the 8S yeah that's right no man's Sky oh sure that was a small team that's that that was like 20 people or something yeah yeah it's good stuff I watched a talk on YouTube the other day with the creator of Another World um which was one of my favorite favorite games on the Amiga back in the day um but that was

one of the the only thing he didn't do was the music he got a friend to do the music um wrote did the art coded also rotoscoped filmed himself acting out all the parts wow and then rotoscoped in amazing yeah C that was a great game amazing [ __ ] difficult re-release it so I can get more achievements they did they did re-release it they did a complete I got the achievement so I need to re-release it's it's so much easier than to make a game than it was for these people too like I just the think about that's what I mean Ken Williams looked at the Apple 2 and like literally looked at the [ __ ] RAM and the the video specs in it was like I reckon I could

make this display images somehow whereas you know I can pull up unity and throw some three mod in and make a you know well this guy had had to kind of invent his own [ __ ] programming language just just to program this one [ __ ] game yeah well that's like uh you sent me that um Monkey Island retrospective which is [ __ ] fantastic and you know they wrote scum to solve that problem too because back then you know if you weren't a programmer how how are you going to make a game but then so they made scum these are such these are very intelligent people yeah imaginative they still exist obviously because the engines these days are just insane there's a there's an Aussie guy actually the chero who used to work at EA he does a YouTube channel if you're interested

in game engine coding like it's very complicated like math stuff but I find it interesting I don't think I could do it but it's interesting and he's a cool guy um but like you don't need to know that stuff these days yeah so it's cool the barrier to ENT is low but that's why that's why there a lot of [ __ ] on Steam now but what you can't do what you can't really do it's not can't but what what what is rarer now is for an independent game to laps into the mainstream like it used to like it used to be that you could like another world for example one guy in his bedroom for two years every night just working on it his mom brings him his [ __ ] beans on to for dinnerstein and then doom and then just like the world has changed exactly right exactly and now what we want you can't

Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor and it was this long [ __ ] flight but I'm like well hold on my map doesn't look like that and actually Japan is quite close to um Hawaii if you look at any map in the southern hemisphere anyway right so what my question is is there an agreed upon layout for the flat earth oh no right some of them do say it is the gleon map yes okay which is that's basically un logo so that's where it's sort of like a top down and then the reason why they think that might be SL Earth is cuz that sort of shows the South Pole yes as being an ice wall yes yes it's long and they actually believe that it's a wall wall but the North Pole's not an ice walk so what's what's up that way

because that's in the center of that that map oh it's the top down looking looking from the north to the South yeah okay right yeah with the whole there's that the South Pole Antarctica is is All Around The Edge and that's what they go that's the actual Def and that's why the Antarctica treaties um there so no one's allowed to go to Antarctica whereas you just go I can book a flight to Antarctica right now you got to get special permission to go to Antarctica don't you oh my god Dan just blown this thing wide open no maybe it's real I I can book a holiday day now it's about $10,000 just pasted a link down there so you can B book your tickets let's [ __ ] go it's not like it's not that you can go down there and

people do fall into it I can see sure and it's because their research is just watching YouTube videos of people telling like when Joe Rogan says he's done research MH yeah which is and then if you ever ask them a question they'll tell you do your own research I all like but all You' have done is watch a YouTube video some who told you that and you believed it yeah here's my problem with it I I've only got one problem with because if if the Earth is great if it's flat fine I don't actually give a [ __ ] either way right sure and if you think it's flat that's okay because actually people thought it was flat at various points in history they thought it was round I've got no problem with that day to day it doesn't make a huge difference the fact that you think

there's a government conspiracy a worldwide consp worldwide that because what what is that saying never put down to malice what can be explained with confidence like if the world if the world is a different shape to what we think it's not because someone's tricking you it's because we don't [ __ ] know and maybe science will find guess what guys it's actually a [ __ ] Cube It's a trapezoid maybe but it's it's not that we've always known and someone's always tricked you it's definitely not that no I mean we have photos of it and you could say they're fake I mean yeah but that's my problem with all conspiracy the same as JFK JFK I probably probably Oswald [ __ ] shot the president by himself probably if he

didn't he might have had an accomplice or it might have not been him it might have been someone else but what it wasn't was a [ __ ] conspiracy like and maybe we just don't know who did it is that video of some woman I think it's a woman out on her front lawn spraying the hose in the sun and it was like the rainbow and she's like what are they putting in the water it's a conspiracy it's like you just don't know how [ __ ] Prism Works yeah that's the thing the thing I thought we do laugh about Flat Earth and it and people who believe in it but it's actually quite I think it's actually also quite dangerous cuz the Flat Earth is sort of like an easy thing to sort of start to get into but then that leads to other things and you'll find cuz if the government if

people are lying to me about this then they're lying to me about that they're lying to me about that and a lot of flat earthers then also sort of go on to be Sovereign citizens and you listen to Mick West don't you mat yeah I like yeah Luke have you heard do you do you know Mick West he's a debunker he's good cuz he's a polite skeptic very very polite and he will have any conversation with any conspiracist um and then he get someone will say and and he goes yeah yeah yeah yeah you can they'll be like yeah yeah yeah as soon as they start bringing up like certain key wordss trigger him to be like I see I see where you've gone wrong you don't understand how X works yeah was one where he talked to this flat earther about flights and and he and he was like

explain it to me she goes I don't want to talk about it and he was like yeah all right A lot of it is their misunderstanding as as of like maths and Science and even like some of their biggest proofs is like flight plans it's like well why don't they fly this way because airlines are about making money and they proba at that's uneconomical and it's probably so instead of flying from like Perth to South Africa we do fly somewhere else because shove bunch of extra people the and Dr there's places you're not allowed to fly over countries own the airspace above them they rent it to Airlines like you're not going to fly over Russia you know like like why don't we fly like over the South Pole and stuff well it's not because of it's not there or you can't

it's it's quite dangerous and if something does go wrong you've got nowhere to go yeah and there's no one want to I'm I'm trying to think I'm trying to think where you would fly that going over the South Pole would be the quickest way and the only way I can think of was to get from the bottom of Australia to the tip of South Africa or the tip of South America but I don't even know if that would be closer necessarily like Antarctica so [ __ ] big it's it's really really massive I don't know why you couldn't do that but I guarantee there's a reason and makes more sense than the Earth is flat whatever the reason that they give is if they found a way they could if they could make money out of it if it was cheaper for them to do it that way
