um we we did an hour and a quarter episode and a 30 minute Afterparty last week we can't keep doing that I don't have time to edit those okay let's go back to 60-minute episodes 15minute Afterparty I don't have the time welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy listeners this week's episode you're not getting as much good stuff let's call last week's a bonus oh this is what dead wants just because dead wants it doesn't mean that's what's going to happen Story of My Life I'll do what I want story of Luke's life get in you didn't get in trouble technically we all got in trouble I think I mean he's got to

include himself in that somewhat right yeah oh we just you you were also talking that's right I mean a it's the fact that we record at an hour where all of us are awake now yeah mhm um most of us a sober I do my best I'm sober I enjoying uh cheeky logger in your honor oh o I like ler I like that you call me your honor it's got a little lobster on it shout out to Proclamation Brewing Company see you accused Luke of being under the table sponsored by Microsoft but this is two weeks in a row that you've mentioned the proclamation Brewery yeah it's cuz I go there literally every week and I'm friends with the staff and I like the beer yeah Fair sure it's about as close to sponsored as you can get I suppose without being sponsored in that you just

love it and just want to talk about it and talk them up like they don't give me the beer so that I'll talk about it wait they give you the beer sometimes okay so you are getting kickbacks from Proclamation I go there that often is is is the problem and and I mean oh there's places I go a lot too that don't give me it for free well I no I used to get stuff for free in some places I'm going to get called out for saying inside baseball again but this is bit inside baseball but but but one of the staff members is a friend of Jordans okay can you say inside Cricket for our Australian listeners and our Pakistani listeners this's a little bit inside Russell Crow but uh there's a Dunkin Donuts controversy and I want to know if it's Proclamation Glory related

similarly to the I'm almost disappointed I thought you got some donuts delivered they was left in the side of the road you started wondering whether the problem was you oh no no no this is um this this is on the news this week uh Dunkin Donuts you're familiar with I'm sure any overseas listeners aren't familiar with Dunkin Donuts they make terrible coffee they make terrible coffee and terrible Donuts but the the slogan is America runs on Duncan and people go nutso for Dunkin Donuts here in New England in particular everybody drinks this [ __ ] like oh it's it's the coffee places they love it yeah they love it and I just can't I can't drink it it's just it's I guess you have to grow up with it but they had a uh a celebration it's

been 30 years that the uh the uh Dunkin Donuts in Cranston which is a suburb of Rh Island Cranston had a celebration uh they put up a post on Facebook and uh I'll just give it a bit of a read and you just tell me when you spot the problem with this sure sure yeah giving the first 100 guests free coffee for a year starting at 9:00 a.m. ribbon cutting with the Cranston community at 10:00 a.m. check presentation to Special Olympics of Rhode Island 10: a.m. Duncan swag giveaways free face painting open to White Cranston Rhode Island residents what uh special appearance sorry sorry sorry what what so no so apparently what's happened is what this is the open to White Cranston r on residents in the Cranston Area 18 plus

age of all places to make statements like that to the Providence plantations of Rhode Island so what's happened is apparent uh recently another Dunkin' Donuts had a 30e celebration and did the same thing and this has been copied and pasted right and the other place was called White ples ah and somebody's just [ __ ] up so was just going control control C and then nobody decided to check but then and in in most places in this text it's correct but just in that one spot it's open to White cranon Rose Island residence that's amazing oh so they they they they were saying white point or whatever it was called and then they open to White Plains Road Island what said before back back changed planes

instead of instead of the whole they've changed one word instead of both words yeah that is a magical mistake isn't it like it's it's it couldn't have been more worse especially because it's a pretty big event like I mean it and that's what I quite like about it like they keep the competition is only open to the locals though yes oh that's like it's not like everyone from the country try and race over it's no you have to be local to this Dunkin Donuts to be eligible this is Luke's takeway this is Luke's takeaway from this story he likes that it's only for the locals this is the man who has famously gone on record to say that he doesn't see anything wrong with blackace he also doesn't see anything wrong with having whites only segregated coffee shops no I do see that problem

but one of the things was the the the new asking people about it said oh what do you think about this and everybody said it's a mistake because the that it's the area is like they've somebody's [ __ ] something up there like no one thought it was intentional so the that clip popped up on YouTube the other day of when um Scott Morrison was given a press conference and that guy get off came out and was like get off the grass will you and sorry the press conference move into the road so funny they were standing on his [ __ ] grass right he just had his lawn done I know but there was no animosity he came out in his underwear and he was like guys can you get off the lawn and then and then the Prime Minister was like yeah he's right we should get and then shift his whole press

conference into the road yeah that was very funny I got to call myself out on something just briefly you done usually we have to wait for Luke to call us out so he didn't and I I just read something this week and I was like you know what I should correct myself on the podcast cuz if someone listens to an older episode why they may not listen to this one on like there is no sanjed McCurry in the past when we've been talking about various things like something that I'm sure is probably going to come up this episode to do with Umbrella Academy we've been talking about trans rights and that kind of thing and I have in the past said that we used to be mad at gay people and now it's fine right gay people the fine they're not fine no I've I've I've no

I've said that in theast because I'm privileged enough to not have to know about the fact that they're not but I've recently read some articles and stuff that yeah no they're not so I want retract my earlier statements we don't have to go on about it I apologize they're not fine still struggling and and everyone should just [ __ ] leave him alone I think the issue is the reason why you think they're fine is because you come from a group of people who believe it's all fine that there's no issue don't give a [ __ ] so so yeah yeah but then you're not actually seeing the actual other side of it where people correct I also come from a country I think that has I mean because a lot of the stuff that I'm talking about is probably us specific

stuff like particularly you know well I mean you probably heard there's all sorts of stuff going on now with this roie Wade stuff and you know they're trying to criminalize abortion everywhere again and and it's it's all kind of related to that people saying now they're also down south talking about get rid of gay marriage RS exactly so stuff like that so anyway I read an article and I was like I really should correct CU I I made light of it not light of it but I was basically like okay people are fine now actually I think you're being hard on yourself cuz I actually think you were quite careful about your wording even at the time and I think you do have a point in the in the fact that Society tends to point its finger at one social group at a time and

trans is certainly the social group of the moment and and gay people are maybe out of the Limelight a little bit in terms of the criticism that the conservative Society points at them but I'm I'm sure you're also right in correcting it that they probably still have a lot of uh hurdles that we don't know about particularly I mean this is a big country right and so like I don't see it at all here where I am you're also probably in quite a progressive part of the where we have the game lesbian marra every year I didn't see it because it seemed fine everyone was getting along occasionally you'd have some idiot going where's the straight Mar but then everyone would just turn around and go you don't understand understand why there is a m gr do you

yeah everyone would just say [ __ ] go about our business I also love that people when they go where's the stre m and all that well well you could organize it yeah yeah if you feel that's every other day of the year you feel under represented organize it like like that's the whole thing like the whole the G Mar wasn't set up by the government wasn't set up by the police was it was just set up by a group of volunteers went we're going to do this so you have every right to go and great it's the same thing that that women's group had their women's only screening of what movie was it we reported on right Wonder Woman oh Wonder Woman and men were like where's our screening and it's like they organized it organize whatever you want mate you're not

missing out on anything but expect people to have a go at you that's right yeah like you're having a go at them correct except they'd be right right um we don't have to go into the whole R versus weight thing and in fact we shouldn't sure but can I just say no and correct me if if I'm naive but I find it confusing because normally when I hear about laws passed in America and public opinion in America I have to remind myself that the reason I don't understand is because they have a mentality of Freedom above all else don't tell me what to do whereas then they pass mavian laws that make me think it's the opposite and I don't understand don't tell me how don't tell me I have

to get a vaccination I mean tell this woman what she can do that's the only thing I can think of is it maybe it's sexist no I I mean it's not the same thing don't WR in I know it's not the same thing but I do understand your point yeah because I've sort of fallen into um Sovereign citizens lately of course you have God not again we knew this would happen he says lately he's been saying lately for the past two years is oh lately I've watched like I don't know how many YouTube videos on it now and oh my God people are just stupid and they're only Americans right yeah no no offense American listeners I'm not saying they're all Americans are s I'm just saying is this an American Sovereign citizens America yeah I watched a video on the New Zealand

Sovereign citizen oh okay so the fuckits can live anywhere is what you're saying anywhere Australia New Zealand mostly America though but they are starting to spread out and but they say the same thing yeah like the big thing is traveling and not driving can you explain that to me I've heard this said but I don't understand even the logic behind the argument I've heard Luke say it and I still didn't quite understand it okay so what they claim is when they in America I think it's the fourth amendment or something you have the right to travel un abided or something like that you're allowed to travel between states so it's basically like you're allowed to travel between states and you have the same rights in that state as you do as anyone who lives

there but what Sovereign citizen turn it into is I have the right to travel so I can get my car and I don't need to have driver's license or registration cuz that's my right to travel and it's s like no you have a right to travel so you can walk catch a bus catch a taxi it means they can't stop and search you at the border I'm pretty sure do mean you can just hop in a plane and have a go yeah yeah yes but yet they just they can't get over and then they they their big is they used the blacks Law Dictionary yes which is a dictionary hey they've got to change that name I think it was just the author's name I'm sure it was but still but yeah and if you actually go on like a lot of them are trying to get like the earlier editions like they really want the first edition

that's what you want really outdated versions cuz they change it they change things basically the blacks Law Dictionary is just a dictionary to for people to learn legal it's not the LA what words it's not the book of the law yeah but in there they found that travel means like you're traveling for Commerce so like your your bus driver attacks you like he something like that and that so they've gone like well no no driving is your bus driver or something so they're not driving because they're not in Commerce right they're traveling and it's just this never ending cycle they've never no one's ever won to say explain all you want to a cop he's not going to care at the end of the day right it doesn't matter what the the bloody dictionary you've got says right the problem is it

matters what happens when you go to court that's all that matters in court some of them think they win when the judges are just dismissing the cases because they just go this is not worth our time I've got backlog of more important stuff and so like just get out of here I'm I don't want to go cuz they know that when they come in they're not in for a quick yes guilty not guilty they're in there for a conversation and an argument and it's going to go on and just like get out go away and they take that as a win they say this guy is going to be a [ __ ] nightmare yeah I just can't deal with it today I was listening to a podcast about the American Civil War recently and uh I mean the more I learn about the Civil War the more I think that the the north should have just let

the South secede and just be done with it but um there was you reminded me Luke when you said that a citizen should be able to go to any other state and have the same rights in that state as the people in that state and there was actually a slave who tried to sue his owner because his owner took him to a free state where slavery was illegal and and then took him back to his to his home right I'm happy here though but well that's what he said he saysay here since I've been in that state I should technically be free because slavery is not legal in that state he didn't win if you're wondering and this was before the Civil War yeah I'm shocked I'm very it'll but the one thing I found quite weird like all these Sovereign C everything who are very much like

America above all else in the Constitution they skip over the 10th Amendment which one's the 10th the 10th one the 10th Amendment is gives the basically goes anything that's not covered under this constitution the states have the right to make their own rules and laws about oh sure yes R over themselves well I mean that's and that's where cuz yeah the basically the Constitution couldn't cover everything so they go look the Nitty Gritty stuff the states can work out for themselves and I meanes think it's I think it's funny too that like I mean as smart as you think the founding fathers were they didn't know a about a lot of stuff that was you know why it was 400 years ago the world's yeah the world's pretty [ __ ]

different no but I love that it's it's it's like we've got we've got to stick to the Constitution all these amendments to it say so and like well hold on I mean there's some good yeah right no there's some good stuff in there for sure like the 21st amendment [ __ ] man did you have any idea that Luke knew so much about he knows more clearly more about the Constitutional Amendments than I do I learned there were certain ones that I learned about to pass my test and then I forgot about them because I didn't need to know them anymore so yeah Mo most people only know about two maybe three and that's you the first and the first the one that let that's really it guns oh yeah the first second and fifth that's really Luke knows the order as well Luke knows as much about American

constitutional law as Matt knows about the Nazis yeah everyone's got their thing I just put see it's like watching a train wreck it's just you can't turn away yeah no I agree that's I used to enjoy watching um you know like hitch and debate people on subjects mostly you know religious people no but now now I'm just like it's just not interesting anymore because no when I was younger cuz there's no argument no but when I was younger you know I kind of brought up in in that a little bit so I was like you I was religious when I was younger and that but then just as I get older and I'm just like I just don't care about any of this stuff anymore I think what happens as well is a lot of times when you're watching someone who does

those debates um they start to run out of people who are willing to debate them and so they they basically scraping the bottom Barrel to try get anyone to come online it's just cheerleading right it's the same arguments like for example there's like I know Sam Harris used to I think he's stopped doing them for this probably for the same reason right it's just like it's pointless because you've got he'll get up and all the atheists will be like yeah fing samam Harris and all of the points he makes everyone will be like w clapping and then some you know like evangelist guy will get up and he'll say stuff that like isn't compelling at all to us and then go and we've got proof the Bible but they'll all start cheering because to them that's a compelling argument and it's

and then like what you know it's just yeah just get silly and that's why there'll never be peace that's right that's why that's why Ireland is [ __ ] that's right yeah um Chris Pratt has come out and clarified some statements we made about him he called us out did he he didn't mention Us by name but we we have we have made these statements he's come out and said not only is he not religious but he's also definitely not from the Hillsong Church which we speci spefically called him out he said he's not religious did he say he's he yeah it's weird I think he's he's saying he's not religious but then also going but I go to church yeah I think he's saying he's he's not saying he's not a Christian in the he's just saying this is what he

says I think there's a distinction between being religious adhering to customs created by man often times appropriating the all reserved for who I believe is a very real God and using it to control people to take money from people to abuse children to steal land to justify hatred so what saying is I'm not that particular definition of religious that I've chosen to I believe in God I'm not one of the [ __ ] yeah so he is religious I could sort of understand I I don't have a I actually quite like sort of saying that like yes I believe in God yes I'm religious but yeah I don't I also believe that they're doing terrible things and that's what I mean good they are people do terrible things in the name of God I got no issues with people believing there might

be some sort of Creator I don't [ __ ] know no so yeah fair enough and actually for the most part whatever people believe doesn't really affect our day-to-day lives no I mean sometimes it does unfortunately it it does that's the problem yeah when it does is is the problem and I think I think that's a big part of like the RO V way he's also God says no yeah but then but the pro the reason why that one's so in particularly complicated is because they think we're doing it to them in that particular instance because because of we don't have to go because of what America the law is very clear if you want to kill a child you can't do it when they're an embryo you have to wait until they're get to school exactly yeah all right let's get off

this all right well this is a good segue right because somebody who called out Chris Pratt was Elliot pagee and I do want to talk about Umbrella Academy Season 3 have you guys seen it we about much if you haven't seen it no I haven't seen I Str episode one season one really oh season one oh no God and season 2 was [ __ ] amazing yeah I love show really now this Show's really now Matt I read a pretty damning review of season 3 last night I've seen some bad reviews too they called it Messi right is that what it uh yeah Messi and um filled with Filler episodes was was this particular reviewers I read yeah I read that and I was like the thing I like about this show is that it's so listeners if you don't know it's about this kind of super

superheroes there one day in the well ' 80s um just suddenly mysteriously a bunch of women just who weren't pregnant just suddenly were like pregnant instantly gave birth and then there were these babies there out of [ __ ] nowhere and then this rich guy and then the Supreme Court came in and overturned Roy way that's right and then this guy collected them all or as many as he could and he trained them to be the Umbrella Academy super Pokemon but they're all just dysfunctional [ __ ] which is what's cool about it right and yeah exactly and so when you when I don't want to spoil anything but when they when I saw people say it's messy I'm like it is but I feel like it's supposed to be because they don't communicate with each other like you've

got whole sequences there's like four episodes where no one's [ __ ] telling anybody anything and then you've got this whole subplot where these people are going off to do something that they don't even need to do anymore like it's it's completely redundant but sure sure only because they don't know and so is that what you mean that's narrative mess that's that's drama that's because didn't tell him he's already got the [ __ ] briefcase like is is it is it also something that's going to make sense later like are all the episodes out or is it yeah yeah all the episodes are out okay yeah no it makes sense and and I guess if you're like looking for like a tight like I don't know like I said if I guess it's messy but maybe it's just because season 2 was so

intricately woven all the different stories and the time travel and all that is is that missing from this season maybe that's what people are think I saw trailer I saw the time travels definitely in there yeah well the whole I mean I don't want to spoil anything but yeah it's it's specifically about you know you saw the end of season 2 right Dan they got back to their time except it's different the sparrow Academy and they're like what the [ __ ] so more of that yeah wants to have sex with himself um which one oh yeah I'm sure I don't know I saw a trailer and I'm pretty sure there was a joke could yeah like if I was to meet my guy I could or maybe I just they have conv that yeah you're doppelganger yeah Matt and I made

a film about that that's right yeah that's it made me think of that when they when they joked about it is it sex or masturbation it's class class wants to [ __ ] himself of course I was going to say surely it's that yeah yeah yeah of course and he's magnificent in everything he's in cuz I used to watch that's the thing that's great about this show is that they're all good interesting characters and and flawed and so like I said yeah messy but I mean I liked I liked the mess because I'm just like oh my God these idiots like like superpowered people and just cuz they can't have a [ __ ] straight conversation with each other all this nonsense is happening it's like so I finished another show last night uh and I'm looking for something to start on

and I might start on this actually because that sounds good to me I loved it Jenna loved it too it was really good and one thing that yeah happens in it is that they address Elliot page well not Elliot page as such they the character of of Van van Transitions and becomes Victor we like this mentioned this before and one of the things people were saying is how's this going to be and uh it's fine it's great okay yeah CU I mean it's probably the best way you can handle something like that is that that they uh yeah yeah I'm looking forward to seeing that I think people made a big deal out of it before they knew how they were going seeing it yeah that's not like people on the internet I know well yeah Jordan Peters just recently put up a video of him

crying again because he's been kicked off Twitter for making fun of Elliot pagee see Peterson started out [ __ ] 10 years ago making some incredibly valid points and very very quickly transitioned into being an absolute [ __ ] with yeah but now I'm like was he making valid points or is it just a coincidence that it but here's the thing Matt it's the same about you talking about your Hitchens debates and all of that stuff it's like whatever because actually he's just yelling into an echo chamber as well most people most people don't take him seriously at all no no the problem is a lot of people do yeah I mean less and less people he's definitely driving people away lately but yeah there's still a group of people who very much believe exactly what he saying oh yeah

there is but like yeah you're right [ __ ] always going to be the case you're always going to have terrible people who think they're doing right yeah put me in charge um Luke if you were in charge what do you have green lit the uh the Bubba hotep sequel that I found out was meant to be a thing and then was canceled what was it about I would have watched the [ __ ] out of that for it it was called Bubba knows feratu oh [ __ ] even better for people who don't know what I'm talking about Bubba hotep is basically Bruce it's Bruce Campbell movie where he plays his character is Elvis Presley in living in an old age home or is he

El he certainly thinks he is according to this what he says is he switched places with a lookalike just cuz he wanted to get out of the spotlight for a bit but then he that person died and he lost all the paperwork confirming that he was the real one so then he had to go through life as Elvis firstat and then he goes a retirement home which is being attacked by I think it's an old Egyptian mummy who's sucking the life out of people through their he teams up with is it JFK JFK yeah that's right yeah a black man black yeah who's black black man he thinks he's I want to watch that again now that was a great mve and the thing is they could just they could still do it actually Bruce Campbell's quite old now I'll correct you on one thing it's a cowboy mummy it's a cowboy mmy that's

right I'm not sure why I don't remember why yeah great yeah they could still make that cuz it's not like evil dead when she stepped away from the basically going look I'm too old for that like I I can't be that physical anymore but BBA he plays in G Nur says that but then he does the Multiverse of Madness punch few times really it's it's available in streaming now I'm sure I think oh yeah yeah yeah the the availability is not defitely is the time to sit down for 2 and a half hours is the problem yeah no really on that and in fact the fact that I have to watch it at home now instead of at the cinema almost makes it less likely that I can watch it not more likely a bizarre way

yeah because to go out and watch it you have to actually make plans and organize it yeah at home not going to go out of the way to make the plans and that way and I don't know if Matt if you and Jenna do this but Haw and I can make all the [ __ ] plans we want during the day for what we'll do at night whilst the child's in bed and then once that happens all we want to do is go to [ __ ] bed too yeah oh yeah we'll watch a couple she's going to be up soon y like for example we've watched one of the new episodes of stranger things didn't have time to watch first is there new episodes yeah the two episodes came out on the first of July last oh [ __ ] last two of this season as we know yeah there's another season but they are the last two yes for now they go what yeah

the first one goes for like an hour and a half and the second one's like 2 and a half hours is it okay I'm glad I didn't try to watch that last night then all right well I might watch those before I watch Umbrella Academy um yeah because I need to know I need to know I watched a couple of movies this week um and they're movies that we have anticipated on this show both because they're from filmmakers we've talked about in the past so I'll just quickly give a little shout out to I watched the Northman which is the new Robert Edgar movie and I watched Men which is the new Alex Garfield movie Alex Garfield Alex Garland movie so Alex Garland did X marer which was one of the best movies of that year whichever year that was 2016 it's pretty um yeah yeah loved it

made devs which I loved as well Annihilation which I could take or leave but I was really looking forward to his that was the one wasn't it yeah and it was okay it was okay is interesting men is apparently divided people at it divided me Matt I must say yeah right I think even somebody I think somebody who was in it was like I don't know what this is about well okay so men is a horror movie if the monster was toxic masculinity okay and I think it's just it's interesting and it's done well but I it's just a bit on the nose you know it's just a little bit too woke for its own good so this the premises about this woman who's come out of a very abusive

marriage abusive physically and mentally abusive marriage um and she goes to this English country town to get away kind of get away yeah exactly right but all the men in that town are total Pricks to her right and you're never really sure whether this is just her bringing this kind of psychological baggage from the past into the present or if the message of the movie is that men are just [ __ ] quits right but either way every man in the movie except for her husband is played by the one actor Rory caner which you may recognize as M's right-hand man from the most recent James Bond movies or as the pig [ __ ] prime minister from the first episode of season one of Black Mirror he plays all the men old

young uh CGI face on a child um big teeth and a fake nose at one point and it's just hard to take it seriously but it's Rory doing a whole of voices in wigs now the horror they get right is quite violent it's very creepy the tension has done very very well there's just something about it that just doesn't sit very well I I don't know I didn't like it as much as I wanted to that sounds interesting for sure and also I think that's a problem with something you just said you didn't like as much as you wanted to you shouldn't want to like anything yeah well unfortunately I wanted to like Northman as well but fortunately I did oh good cuz I want to like that also yeah it's excellent um is it the greatest Viking

movie ever made cuz that's what it's being called I mean maybe how many Viking movies are there really I ER North I there's there I love Eric the Viking and actually while I was watching this I kept thinking to myself I want to watch Eric the Viking I really like valal Rising still and I thinko I would probably watch that again before I watched this again but this is quite good it's beautifully shot it's shot like an old medieval epic but it also leans very heavily into the mythology right you know there's a lot of kind of esoteric stuff in in here as well I read an article about something I'm going to forget the specifics but it and I was like got to watch this and then come back to this article so

hopefully I saved it somewhere about how the camera work in it is odd and in there are things where it it's weird but it's like must be intentional because this guy was like why you would you wouldn't that wouldn't happen by accident so like there's I'm trying I'm not doing a very good job of explaining this I'll trying to find the article I'll send it to you it was just interesting I'd love to know what nothing stood out to me I mean there's very interest there's this one shot where and in fact it's it's quite interesting because they they don't go to England right right they go east instead of West so it starts out in North Russia which the vings also went to right and apparently in the script uh

Robert Edgar had written that they went to England and Alexander scar was like I've [ __ ] seen that let's go somewhere else the Vikings were everywhere stop showing them in England um but there's this one shot where it's on the bank of the river and you see a couple of long ships go by and then it starts zooming in or you think it's just zoom in but then suddenly it's on a boat and you're now zooming in to a character's face who's sitting on the boat as the camera and the boat are going down the river it's it's quite incredible yeah right okay yeah I I'll try and find it it was just yeah something I think this the person who wrote the article was was a cinematographer or something like that and just said that there's some

particular shots where he he was like oh that looks like a mistake but then he looked watched it again he was like it can't be a mistake like hm they must have yeah I'd like to know what to do that refering I'm not sure nothing stood out to me as as as being out of place necessar and and it's it's [ __ ] weird and trippy editing and stuff too so yeah I got to watch the thing is though apparently uh Robert Edgar is a stickler for historical accuracy in all his movies right to the point where apparently they were um you know the crew the set Constructors were building the the long long houses and stuff and he was like no they didn't use nails they used all this different and they're like you're not going to see that and he's like no take it down build it the

way they built it jeez there something that yeah only he's really going to care about cuz that's right if it did it happen it would bug him and no one else but now he gets to say that and then everyone can be like oh yeah I noticed MH they didn't yeah well he had archaeologists on set each day apparently really to like correct him if he got anything wrong give him whip him that's why AR yeah to whip him yeah well yeah well we're movies have you seen that they're talking about another Ghostbusters but not not a standalone or a spin-off or they're looking at another sequel yeah I've not seen a sequel I haven't seen afterlife yet but this is this thing they're making is a sequel to afterlife apparently of course it is of course it

is cuz after Life After Life was just ended perfectly mhm really it just watch [ __ ] movie no it is it's a good movie man and you should watch it it what it does is capture the spirit of the the 80s that um other kind of nostalgia movies try and do um but what I think it also does is prove how much of a lightning in a bottle the original Ghostbusters was and I almost feel that this was a fluke that it was so good you know it it had no right to be this good and the sequel probably won't be yeah I just I don't understand why like it cuz it spoiler M very very minor spoilers for I know it's money but afterlife just sort of it sort of made it look like ghosts haven't been around

since the 80s AG all disappeared but Spangler was still was it spingler vicman Spangler no Spangler Eon spingler he was he was going up they're going to come back and went off and was trying to work out what they're going to do and then 40 years later they do come back and that's where what the movie is but how do you make a sequel from that when it's talking about like there aren't that around yeah but yeah it was just such a nice send off to him as well and but yeah I assume you through osmosis know the ending of it absolutely not oh okay fantastic don't know don't know anything about it oh go watch it then you'll enjoy it we won't say another word about it I should watch it yeah but but I I am within my right if I wanted to I would spoil it for you

because it's been more than two weeks but that would be nice he's a benevolent ruler and he will allow me a leave yeah yeah that's right wow that but if you haven't watched it um by the time the trailer comes out for the next one then I'm going to ruin it for you all right so I get a little while to go I think that's fair that's that's a long time I clicked on this article and I remember this has got Finn wolfart in it like everything else does these days and that reminded me that I wanted to mention when we with stranger things there's been a plot hole created yes that made me laugh I heard about this but I wasn't quite sure why this was an issue can you explain this to me so um at some point in um in in an early episode in season 2 right Joyce when under writer's

character mentions that the 22nd of March is Will's birthday okay fine in season 4 it is is the 22nd of March no one says anything no one says anything to how do we know it's it's clearly not his birthday they do I yeah it it is made does every day have a specific calendar date that it takes place on I don't remember any of this uh there was something I forget what it was but there was there's a calendar there's a calendar showed that the was they going to go in and digitally change the calendar or are they going to change her or they not say no they're going to go in and they said they just they they've done tests and they're going to make it so that when writer says may okay yeah George Lucas style fine I I do

I do like that that the do Brothers came out and went like look we do love this universe and everything we just and and it's very hard to keep track of everything and we missed it sorry just a throwaway thing but these [ __ ] people on the internet you can't you can't let them can't get one past him it's amazing that's so funny it's like when we watch Obi-Wan yeah Al I feel like they're more glaring mistakes but but I would not have caught this I don't think no like if like watching no no no imagine being you know the easiest way to fix this would be to just in the background of one of the shots put up a happy birthday will Banner yeah imagine being so into this show that you're watching season 4 and all like it's during that [ __ ] shootout scene right and it pans

like Mar 22 that's Will's birthday I still love that shootout Scene It fantastic that episode was the best but any scene imagine watching any scene and being like what day is it on that calendar March 22nd I can understand why the in the end of season 2 when it was all about 11 going off and hanging out with Goths in the city I can imagine like just like playing on your phone instead of paying a lot of attention but [ __ ] me not now we still agreed that was the worst part of all stranger things when she that was when I was like oh maybe this show is [ __ ] now yeah yeah they can't sustain it that was just a very weird story arc and they've never gone back to it that was supposed to be a spin-off too and they were like oh just kidding yeah I've just noticed this

too I didn't see this bit before but this is Matt Duffer one of The Duffer Brothers says that in the original episode they would change the audio to make Will's birthday May 22nd because may can fit in when know were known as mouth his words which that phrasing makes me laugh but then he added this would not be the first time they changed something after releasing it and he said we've George Lucas things also that people don't know about oh yeah also referring to one own R's mouth or unrelated if if people hav't no what's the point of it well they caught it before anyone spotted it clearly that's I just think that's interesting that is interesting um I also read online that will is supposed to be gay but I didn't pick that up from

the show I keep watching I'll just leave it at that oh okay I just haven't seen far enough all right yeah keep watching ah so I'm I'm going to guess that that that that poster thing he's been carrying around comes out there I mean there's a fairly graphic scene of him and vetner though I uh I mean spoilers spoilers mhm yeah the only way to feed him is someone to suck him off and was like I'm free I'm I'm trying to suck his soul out of his [ __ ] will played by that guy from uh how you being served I'm free Mr what's his name Mr humph Mr hum Mr humph yeah I used I used to really like that show got stuck in the rain and now my pussy's all wet oh God yeah that was up there with the

carry-on films wasn't it of just that' 70s British comedy where it's like we'll have a [ __ ] an old lady who talks like a [ __ ] but doesn't realize she's a [ __ ] and a queer and then everyone else will just make fun of those mug into the camera and go o every time yeah yeah I used to like that show a lot when I was a kid same it was good and it was just one of those things that was just always on yes always this is back in the day when you didn't really have much of a choice there were three channels you like a lot of shows from the BBC we had three channels and then later in in our years we had five mhm yeah when we were teenagers and then Fox came out and ruined everything yeah I could for another decade after it but Kade did so I used to watch it at his house speaking

of choice paralysis I've had to get over a particularly Grievous case of choice Paralysis on my retroid pocket 2 plus yes um just by virtue of the fact that and I think I mentioned this about 3 weeks ago but I didn't want to go into detail because they sent me a brick that I couldn't charge up or turn on um I have a replacement now which works just fine and how many times have you played it oh it's in my pocket right now mate it goes everywhere with me I play it a lot I play a lot I play in bed before I go to sleep every night I play it in the morning when I get up I play it when I have to any any seconds I get we still what are we still talking about the console or MH the skin um yeah yeah that's right it

is beige colored yeah like me um My Little for for anyone who doesn't know what we're talking about I don't know why it took me so long to decide to get one of these but I I bought one of those third party handheld consoles that you can just load robs onto so it's basically I have every console from the ' 80s and '90s now cuz you own them all yeah cuz I used my Raspberry Pi to rip off of the cartridge and all those old arcade maches yeah that's right yeah yeah um storage looking after them yeah a lot of time and money goes into that find waste of a parking space in the garage but you know it's a lot and I'm doing it because of from for posterity sake too because these old cartridges and these these

like these boards they're not going to last forever so you know me ripping them and and making images out of them it's it's just it's really it's really for poster I mean you can fit them all in a pocket but it's it's not comfortable and you you I mean difficult to walk when you've got them all in there so y y um but I spent I spent the first week or so just putting on every game that I had for I know what you mean two minutes like just like oh I remember this and like I've I've got five different Batman games which one's the best like but what I had to really do is to try to get myself out of this and I think I did this when I was a kid too I'm attracted to movie tie-in titles and always shame CU they yeah they back then they were the worst they're not always but it's

very rare that they're not because I'm playing a movie tie in on mine right now which I'll get to that and it's and it's definitely not awful it's one of my favorite games of all time it sort of depends on how they do it because like with ET like that was basically like the mov I'm playing in we need to cash in on a game now can you do this in this time frame and he goes well yeah I I can should I a different thing but present you with something they they would have to try and make something cuz you want to release at the same time to get the mark cross marketing thing but also half the time they didn't know what the story was going to be or they'd be very vague on the story and it's just oh there was no story to the ET on Atari game no story

whatsoever there actually was walking around falling in pit you walk around falling you had to go collect all the bits of the machine so you could phone home oh is that what it was you were trying to build your machine so I I didn't even get that but this is one of those games where it's like you have to destroy a section of wall that you would have to know in advance was disposable for to even go near that part of the wall because the wall normally kills you so why would you even try to get through that one little bit Yeah there's just no logic to it but man I'm I'll tell you what I'm playing as well I finally settled on something but I'm also Keen to hear what what you've found as well cuz you've You' also got yourself you didn't get the retroid which one did you

get I've got yeah so I I you mentioned you bought one and I was like oh that looks cool so I started looking at I went down this rabbit hole on on YouTube there's a YouTube channel called retro gamecore that I'm now sort of obsessed with um this guy in Hawaii who guess buys and reviews all of them and then some of them by the company and oh is that that big guy he's like quite a quite a large no no no no okay no uh I think I know who you mean but it's yeah different one I probably also subscribe to that channel yeah um but I I bought um the one I got was the because I wanted one that I could just throw in my pocket and then we'll get to it but I've realized now maybe that was a bad call because I don't go anywhere but um so I got the the RV 280 M which is an aminic

product which is the little metal one which is about the size yeah yours looks very durable yeah it's it's metal it's about the size of a closed DS Light if that means anything to anybody it's like about that size um and I mean it runs I think less games than yours does yours is very powerful in that sense um yeah mine's probably a little bigger than that too I suppose yeah right okay uh I don't think I have mine down here I it's upstairs see I'm I'm just waiting to so I get a steam deck Ste keep waiting keep waiting I don't know that I want a steam deck though that's the thing I like about this though so had the you mentioned that you had too much choice right so what I did was the same as you I got it and I just threw everything on there everything in the [ __ ] Universe

on there yeah if it fits and you've got it why not just put it in yeah exactly and then I realized the that how do I even find anything on this right and how am I going to pick something so what I actually did was I took everything off and I was like pick a handful of games and then if you find that you're playing it maybe put some more on later that kind of thing like come so what I've been playing on there is Indiana Jones in the fate of Atlantis oh yes scumm yeah and I love it except like I said this one is a bit small so I've ordered something else as well oh but we'll uh talk about that when it arrives okay yeah I'm okay yeah this is small this is this is small it's it's pretty small you got to you got to really you got to well see I thought

that would be an advantage I could put it in my pocket cuz people people complain about some of them are a bit big and they're too I was I want to be able to pocket it but then I'm like I don't go anywhere like in my head I was like oh I could be at the DMV playing a game and like I mean I will take it you know next time I go to the DMV but how often do I go to the [ __ ] DMV like I don't know yeah yeah yeah cuz that's right you it when you go to DMV it is like the movies where you you basically that's your dat oh yeah I be there for a couple hours yeah so in that case yes I will take this thing with me but like like 99.9% of my life you Comm anymore I'm going to put money on it that when you do go you will forget to take it with you and then you'll get there and you go [ __ ] yeah

the one time I got this not because of portability I got this because of reliability of the emulators because like I I think I mentioned a few weeks or a couple of months ago now um got my PC up and running and then just basically just put a bunch of emulators on it the meiger the snares or the Genesis all the old ones um half of them work half of them don't some of them work with a controller from Xbox some of them don't um yeah and and in this everything just runs the same the controls are the same pretty much across the board um there's a little bit of a learning curve to learn to stop pressing the home button when I wanted to press the select button but you know I'm kind of I'm getting good at that now when CH hot keys and stuff yeah exactly

right um but I just like that it's just simple and and all the games I want to play are there totally um I'm playing Blackthorn did you guys ever play this 1994 um blizzard oh I have to ring a bell it's the one where you can shoot a shotgun behind you without looking okay oh I'm looking you're a heavy metal D you got long hair and ripped jeans and a shotgun and you can shoot in front but if you press the a button you just put it behind you and shoot at whatever's behind you and it's it's pretty badass I'm looking at it now it looks cool yeah it's it's great it's just kind of like a Metroid vanard style yeah um kind of

exploration plus action platformer but I'm determined to just played all the way through now because a lot of these old games for for this generation the console generations of Super Nintendo and um Sega Mega Drive are not games I've played all the way to the end so I want to start completing some of these games well also a lot of those very hard to get to the end and yeah well that's why this helps because it has safe States on it as well which um they never did back in the day yeah so so you yeah when you back in the day if you died and you ran out of lives that was that was it there was no might might have maybe couple of continues and then it was just no you got to go back to the like Alex kid in Miracle World oh man I'm just as bad now as Alex kid in

Miracle world as I was back then um but I I did play a bit of Wonder Boy which I actually liked a little bit better than Alex kid I saw that recently and I do want to play Wonder Boy again Wonder Boy is [ __ ] fun you're a cavan child on a skateboard it's so hard to lose that skateboard though because you get it and then You' got to jump over fires and you yeah exactly it's gone it's gone um but that game is incredibly fun and in fact I played cuz the Master System was my console that was like that's the first console I had and I just loved it so I've gotten a lot of nostalgia for um Master System games and I still love them playing them on this because they're so simple like get from the start of the level to the end of the level without getting hit go you know

like they just don't die it's simple yeah avoid everything everything will kill you jump or shoot everything go yeah good [ __ ] yeah I recommend these little devices they're great well I found something that I might be getting CU steamex doesn't look like it's coming to Australia but there this other thing a Neo a Yao there's a new one of them coming out the next one which can run game pass on it oh yes now these aren't cheap no no no this is like $1300 yeah for context my retroid cost me 250 bucks Yep this will be but yes a little bit more than that but I can get achievements so I'm going to bookmark this and keep an eye for when that

releases cuz I need it yeah oh you can get a fingerprint reader on it going add that what do you need that for what whatever don't worry it no don't worry about it whatever but at least this one's actually releasing in Australia so I'll have a chance cuz I yeah while I like the you having one of those retro handh holds I know I'll never use it because there's no achievements yeah Fair yeah I [ __ ] I've been like I said I've been playing fate of Atlantis and i' love that like I said I've been playing in bed too before I go to bed play some Indiana Jones and like just the idea that like when I first loaded it up cuz that game I loved that game when I was a kid like absolutely loved it it's one of the old Lucas Arts adventure

games I had it on 13 floppy discs that's I'm and then the idea I now have that in a little thing that goes in my pocket is just so cool yeah I want to go back in time and show this to my [ __ ] 10-year-old just be like when you're an old man you can play these whenever you [ __ ] want it's been so long since I've played it but you won't have any time I don't remember like the plot yeah so oh yeah yeah it's challenging except especially when you get to the end mate when you're in that [ __ ] maze but I do remember because like I'm I'm I'm get to like um this thing I'm like oh you got talk to the parrot I remember that and then I I'm like I don't remember like the visuals or anything like that like there's Aztec Temple there and all that kind of stuff I'm like I don't

remember that but then like the parrot's like oh the parot knows the parrot yes yes exactly and um to get the Lost dialogue of PlayDoh and I'm like I got to move the to I got to put the mayonnaise down like why do I remember that you got to smear mayonnaise on the bottom of it to I wish there were more I remember that I found a site recently Okay so so I I recently went down a [ __ ] rabbit hole that took an entire weekend of my life but that I was like so happy I found footage of a unreleased demo from Sierra for um I think it was called time Quest it was one that never came out somebody at Sierra just did a little demo on and I was like oh [ __ ] man I would have loved to have played

this and then I kind of Follow that down there's there's this community of people that are making modern games in the style of the old Sierra games um so that's almost like the Sierra games that could have existed you know like parallel universe where we got heaps more um and most of them are garbage but at the same time they they still just still looks like it cuz I mean king's quest is garbage anyway the only reason it's [ __ ] awful go back and play some of it's painful yeah yeah yeah incredibly painful uh but these new ones are great too because uh so I'm I mean I haven't played it since I've got the retroid but I had bookmarked the site where people were publishing them I was just going through them one at a time and just playing through these alternate reality Sierra games just find

it amazing like how many people would have played that game over the years never ever finished it yeah like finishing games has was rare back in the day because G but even today people still I don't know how don't finish games like if Halo infinite games I haven't finished I can tell you that plenty of games I of the people who own it only 48% of them have actually finished a game yeah right which just seems crazy and this is name a game that you know I've played uh Batman Arkham Asylum I finish that try again um shouldn't this shouldn't take too long unless I'm unless I'm Sky myself what's that Borderlands Borderlands or the first one I finished the others I haven't y you said Skyrim haven't finished Skyrim never never

played through the main quest in Skyrim Fallout four last time I played Skyrim I accidentally completed the game cuz I didn't think I was following that Quest and then all of a sudden I finished the main quest and didn't realize it the second I'm sure I've said this before but the second playthrough I did of Skyrim was second play twice as long as my first play through and I didn't do any of the main story they're just so so easy to get lost I I finished Skyrim in that I got bored and stopped playing it but I never did the main quest as such like I never killed that dragon or anything you killed him twice well three times I forget you know the guy I mean I know you mean that's all for this week thank you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the
