there's knock knocking and then it's oh yeah it destroyed a few days ago yeah they've been dead this whole time mhm which is terrible yeah but inevitable I uh one News Network and I can't remember which one one of the American ones had a countdown like a live countdown that's disgusting y yeah that that truly is yeah they've they've had calls yeah voicing distaste I know that there was some hope because I hearing hearing banging like in 30 minute intervals which is a he okay of a good sign that well I thought they couldn't even locate it for quite some time right well that they couldn't they still haven't what they found is what they think is debris from it basically imploding yeah right right

from the the pressure of being under the deep ocean yes yeah yeah so that that's the one thing they they would not have suffered they would have would have been very very quick which is the funny thing was yeah right right I it it didn't make it into my news feed for quite some time actually because this whole thing lasted two to three days right of of constant news cycle but it was a a full day in before I heard anything about it and I think it just my preferences filter it out somehow until James Cameron started weighing in and then it was all over my feet and I like the fact that people go like why is this director commenting on this come yeah he he's probably the world fully qualified submarin yeah he is one of the few people who actually

has been to the wreck of the Titanic successfully and and back funded it himself and I think that just sort of shows how dangerous the ocean still is people don't understand that like it's not just jumping in like an airplane the pressure under there is insane yeah which I mean you go through your whole life without really thinking about deep sea pressure until you're confronted with it but have you ever carried a bucket of water it's heavy it's imagine you had kilometers worth of that on top of you yeah yep but yeah so that was that was bit of interesting news this week but yeah but then you've got the other side which is people going oh they billionaires they [ __ ]

deserved it and I'm like well I don't know if they deserved it they certainly knew that there were risks I mean all of these kind of billionaire playboy explorers yeah they do they climb mountains and ski Tundras they know that they're doing risky things but yeah they don't deserve it's not it's not haha yes I don't see why people sort of get excited and happy that these people it's still a tragedy yeah like if this was five I don't know poor kids from the third world everyone would be jumping on board Elon Musk would be there with a Little Submarine again submarine yeah yeah and that's what I've seen some people go oh this is only in the news because there sort of so rich and S and like it was something else that wouldn't be in the news it's like no you had the

chil miners you had the the cave like it makes it's world news because it's like it's a Titanic every it's yeah go down there it's not something happens every week yes yeah I wonder though because it's look it's an expensive holiday right 300,000 or something yeah so it's more than A4 million dollars a piece five people going down there um you would think oh the guys are making mint I'm pretty sure they're going to have to pay out a lot of money to the families of these people um can't see this not being expensive for them in the aftermath well the guy who runs it he's gone as well so right yep CU there's that sure there's that um they would have definitely been signing away sure everything no one left to Sue I guess

cuz cuz like well it's one of the things like there's no way you're getting insurance for that yeah like no going to pay insurance for like that because it's like when the Pol Mission and the astronauts they don't get insurance oh sure well it's like anything like that I mean uh you remember my bachelor party all those decades ago when we went to paintball right mhm and they said oh you have to sign a waiver that signs away all liability from us and uh I jokingly said oh I don't let any I don't sign anything without my lawyer Reading it first so I handed it to Grant and said can you read through this and and uh he was said oh yeah no it's fine you can sign this because none of these are things you can legally sign away anyway so if you get hurt you're well within

your rights to sue these people whether you they have this form or not yeah but it also comes down to how you get hurt yeah exactly like unless you're in America and then it's just who has the better lawyer oh yeah yeah then show and austral it's a bit different you can't just fly go I'm suing you and do it and then settle out of court yeah that's right good Lord look we mentioned elong for for a brief moment in there there's some Elon Musk news this week too although I I haven't put it in the spreadsheet but uh oh are we talking about his fight gonna fight Mark Zuckerberg this is a terrible idea if he's agreeing to it cuz Zucker bird will destroy you see this reminds me of When U ball challenged his critics to come and fight

him because they were being very brutal in the media and the critics thought that he was sort of joking it was going to be no he got in there and beat the [ __ ] out of yeah no kid gloves from Uber ball who is a towering 6'5 German with a grudge yes and uh well I don't think Zuckerberg has a grudge does he I don't know neither of them need the money what is this like yeah it's not like yeah we need yeah we're going to do this for a bit of publicity and make a few million no it's yeah U ball sold tickets to his and pay-per-view and profited from it yeah as well as getting to beat the [ __ ] out of people that had said nasty things about him in the news cuz the thing I think about it CU every now and again you'll see like YouTubers have like boxing rout and it's terrible it's not

actually yeah yeah interesting because they don't they can't fight like it'd be like if we decided to try to fight one another this but in this case I could see Zuckerberg does know how to fight he does doesn't he so what's zaker BG's history of martial arts he tell jiujitsu or something Jiu-Jitsu yeah yeah and Elon Musk even he's joking like he his mov is the warus where he'll just lie on top of him right sure I mean not a bad moveie if you can get on top of him but yeah I don't know coming at you if it's a joke or if it's happening because the one who's speaking the most about it is Elon Musk correct yeah yeah so this is the kind of thing I'd normally dismiss except that there's Elon is someone who puts his money where his mouth is he said he was gonna [ __ ]

put a Tesla in orbit and he did you know what I mean like he does stuff weird crazy stuff because he says it and likes the sound of it all started with not an actual call out from it was an interview or something okay I think on Twitter which was serly saying like zako would be prepared to fight and name time and place and he responded to that going Las Vegas I don't know I don't know if that was but you know that's where you do it in interviews where interviewers ask stupid questions that AR yeah 100% and in fact I'd say 80% of the headlines I read in the news nowadays are throwaway things that people said to dumb questions in interviews you know well it's like those times where you hear like an interview go hey would you want to play James Bond or something they go

and they're like yeah sure yeah yeah sure it's not like they're going to say no and then the next headline is they they want to be vying for James Bond yeah correct yeah because that's news cycle so he says because you need the clicks that's why yeah what I've started doing when I see news I try and read at least two to three articles that sort of try and confirm yes yes yes agreed agreed well that we were talking before we started about Indiana Jones yeah so dial of Destiny is out in some places around the world it's not out here yet but it's had some this week yeah it's some premieres and so a lot of uh journalists yes and critics have seen

it and have which weigh in look I don't pay attention to what a lot of critics say because yeah no fair absolutely Fair critics don't like a lot of the movies I like yeah so the the journalists in air quotes and critics also in air quotes that I do listen to are essentially just people with podcasts like us or YouTube channels like ours who tend to like the same type of things as me or at least are annoyed by the same things that annoy me yeah right um and so I'm getting a little concerned because the type of things that would normally put me off enjoying a movie seem to be the things that these people are talking about and it without any spoilers it's just that yeah there's plenty of stunts there's plenty of cool on liners but

what there isn't is a real really good story and really good character development like the old movies had and this is a thing I think people need to when they go in the see this you're not going to have the same experience you had when you were watching the original movies when you were 10 years old yeah yeah yeah yeah like you are very different you've and I think this is where people get a lot critical of movies now because you're not 10 yeah it's not just a wow look at this it's you you go into pick problem of movies now yeah and you go in expecting like every movie we saw when we were little kids we weren't even really wondering whether we were going to like it or not you were just watching it so that you've seen that movie you

know like oh I watch this one now you weren't going I hope it's good that never even came into it when they were good you were like guys you got to watch this but that's it like even at the time you're like you were excited to just go to the movies it didn't matter or the video store excited it was and you go to and you spend hours trying to pick something we don't have that anymore now it's just so I think that's part of the problem that people need to start they're not there meant to be an acceptance you're just going in this is make believe it's not real it's just for entertainment stop trying to pull it apart saying that there are movies I don't like still but oh sure sure think we're too critical and I think no I would agree with that and and

I would love to watch Indiana Jones not not hoping not even not even wanting it to be good but just to watch it to see to see what it is to see what Indie does on this adventure yeah that there was some you saw uh clickbait the title that like Phoebe is worse than you would imagine yeah and I'm just sort of like so that's someone who's going negative from the start because like when we were talk about her being in it we were actually thinking oh we like her this could be good exactly and then she did a rewrite on the latest James Bond which to me was one of the best I I thought having that fresh perspective she's incredibly witty um she's not just an actress on this I believe she's also a

screenwriter uh but yeah the headline literally was exactly what you said she's worse than you thought and it's like well we didn't we didn't think she was going to be bad so yeah we we thought actually be good so yeah I was worried that there was going to be too much CGI like there was in Crystal Skull and that the stunts unlike stunts in Raiders and in Last Crusade which actually were done for real with stunt actors and therefore you believed that the characters could do those stunts albeit dangerously yeah and well and there's actually more sense of actual fear that's yes there so when I watch when I watch shy abff doing the splits between two Jeeps having a sword fight I'm not really concerned that he's going to get hurt you know in the same way as

when Indie is literally hanging off a tank yes on the edge of a cliff that I don't know how this is going to come out I assume he'll survive but I don't know how and especially you know you know sh buff ain't doing the splits no now look my tolerance for shil buff is considerably higher than your Toler for sh above look I'm happy you and Matt have finally come to a bit of an understanding that he's a terrible person oh look I don't no see I do want to hang out with him because I think that would be hilarious but I just I don't want him to hurt anyone I just hang out with him like he you hang out and then he's going to be insulting your server yeah it would be like certain people we grew up with that we just would hope wouldn't come out with us yes

because you just knew it would turn a fun into an awkward and crazy but not in a good way night but yeah it might start off fine but then they just keep escalating it yeah at a certain point you wish you'd just stayed home yeah yeah I never understood where you used to talk about I'll still watch him in things and I'm just no he's not a nice person no but he does stuff like put himself in an art gallery and say do what you want to me like that's not normal but you know in in an entertaining way I'm entertained by him I don't like him I'm entertained by him I'm entertained by him he has sort of disappeared though evidently he slagged off Steven

Spielberg right and Steven Spielberg who is an executive producer on the yeah but including the Transformers movies was like more [ __ ] child buff see now I have a hard time going with that cuz remember there was a story where evidently Megan Fox said oh true said that thing and then they they were on and then few years later Jill in a movie for him again so sometimes some of those stories okay yeah you could be right you could be right I I could be wrong still but I don't know just he cuz he was still cuz even that seems like the art gallery and stuff that was sort of AR he was in Transformers and spelberg but then that was sort of like what he was doing he wasn't

yes yeah doing anything he wasn't in movies he was at a cabaret abusing people yeah know who I am yeah yeah I think once you start saying don't you know who I am you've you've lost the plot yeah y so look Indie I want to see it I don't I don't think I'll get to the movies in the next couple of weeks so I'm sure this will be spoiled to high heaven I do know what the D sequence is and if you if you want to know I can clarify if you skip ahead 30 seconds I'm just going to ask a question before we do that is it time travel or is it a flashback it's a flashback okay and the movie opens with it and apparently it's nearly half an hour long oh wow and every single review that I've read of this has said when that stops you'll

go please don't stop please don't cut to the present day please keep this essentially Indiana Jones 4 straight after after the Last Crusade yeah um deaged pretty well I've not heard much criticism about the effects since people have actually started seeing it I've heard that some of it isn't actually like full on the Aging some of it is his stuff we filmed back then that way just bring back like Rog one yeah CU Rogue one like with the X-Wing Pilots like there's a female X-Wing pilot and that all filmed for a new hope that just wasn't in so they just reused some of that that Harrison said that for some of it yeah yep and that makes sense evidently yeah the first 20 to 30 minutes is essentially just an oldfashioned Indiana Jones

Adventure as you remember it m um and I've not heard a single criticism of it everyone's saying no that's just awesome no hands down no criticism of the first 30 minutes then the tone changes it comes to oh not present day but certain yeah that's right where is yeah it's is the moonlanding happening or actually that I don't cuz remember that was in the trailers it was I thought that was like a parade for them or something y so that's most of the criticism that I've read that aren't directly about Phoebe wallbridge um from incels who are angry that that women in film um yeah um it's been about has has cited that sequence as a prime example of De movie and then they stop and do a

big chase because you need an action sequence there and then it has no bearing on the story and then when the chase finishes they go back to the movie and it is a bit disappointing because I think that's one thing that the old Indiana Jones movies did very well which was Major feel like the chase was the movie you know it wasn't it wasn't just a set piece it's it's I think it's something that happened with a lot of movies these days we lose when there's a Chase scenes or a fight scene the movie stops yeah and there's that we don't have as like in the old days where while that's still happening there's still story happening and I'll go back even though the fight between Darth fade and obiwan and New Hope wasn't exactly they're fighting but there's still story

there yes and even without three prequels you know there's a huge amount of history there they seem to know way more about each other than you expected yeah he says mysterious lines like this time I'm the master you know all of these things that make you go holy [ __ ] there's so much weight in this scene mhm yeah you know one filmmaker that does Chase and action very well is James Cameron coming back to him and I remember watching behind the scenes of the first Terminator movie where he said all of the exposition is during chases so you're not just watching a Chase Kyle Ree and Linda Hamilton what's her name Sarah Conor are in a car trying to get away from Terminator and it's during that chase that he's explaining what a Terminator is yeah it's not when they

finally stop chasing and they get to a bunker and he can quietly explain it he's like no cuz then you've got two boring things next to each other yes you've got a Chase with no dialogue and then a dialogue with no action put them both in the same scene and then that's a movie yeah I tried to take that advice when I made my film The Tale job which is why every Chase has people talking in it yes but yeah I think yeah that's what's missing now now it's just a now we're going to have this 30 minute chase scene and like lots of stuff will be happening there'll be explosions all this stuff there there's no real story like you can show the first 30 seconds last 30 seconds and you still know what happens well it's like that Simpsons episode where there starts becoming a

meltdown at the power plant and then it just cuts to the three guys in Mr Burns's office going we won't bore you with the details of our miraculous Escape but needless to say we need to have some changes and it's like almost every scene in the Crystal Skull could be taken out and then just have them go wow that was a a wild ride get getting away from those ants hey oh the ants the ants the monkeys the aliens oh I only saw that movie Once same and same look I don't know I might go and see it in the movies comes out this week I haven't been for a while I like to go to movie to get drunk that's what I'm thinking I'm thinking if I was drunk I might just enjoy this on another level because

um oh and Matt shared oh Matt's not here oh Matt got are we allowed to say what why Matt's not here I got to assume so I assume so he's got yeah he's got it he's got he's got the the chest throat that we all away for a few years he's got coads now you've had this Matt and I had not had it but we both thought we must have had it because we've had horrible cold but we've always tested negative he finally has tested positive and and he's now saying that this is worse than any cold he's ever had yeah I think he's got a lot more worse than what I did from the sound of it cuz I think I still recorded when I had it oh a dig a dig ladies and gentlemen no no no but what I'm saying is because they're you get people get affected different ways and even when he was

explaining it like coughing the sess the tightness I think he was yeah I got the impression that he's got a lot worse than what I did yeah and I'd say maybe maybe your overall health is just generally better than his but I mean I don't know that to be true so well I was yeah I no I think I just didn't get as bad and I was also recovering from surgery so I wasn't working or anything home play G so nothing changed for me yeah but anyway match shared the trailer for um Craven the hunter this week um with the uh the caption doesn't this look atrocious and I watched it and I've got to say I thought it looked fantastic I'm hearing that people like it and not like I it looks like crazy dumb action

in a way that tickles me now crazy dumb action can also be absolute sh but this looks like the type that I like cuz this is one of these weird things this is Sony doing a SC where we still have all of the villains and the other characters from Spider-Man that we can do whatever we want with so let's go with this one so it's going to be not g to have Spider-Man in it no and I assume he's also not going to be the baddy right like usually he's the baddy in a Spider-Man well yeah well this is going to be one of those twists about how like he's bad but he's not anti-er yeah yeah yeah um this is an actor that I like though he's uh he's the soldier at the end of uh tenet and he's also evidently and then this just to bring it back around

he apparently is vying for James Bond he wants to be the next Bond no it's Rahul Taylor Johnson Rah would be I'm all on board for that 100 % um we still need to let him know that we're sort of try to get him that we're backing him does has he put his head in the ring or is he we just nominated him we no I don't I think he's one of things who goes like James Bond he's like well above we need to get on Twitter yeah he he would be 100% And and if you if you think he's too comedic if you think he can't do serious what's that vampire movie on that island oh there the blind Manor and those yeah few those it's it's yeah if you if you if you like those but

think he's he's just you're kind of side character the [ __ ] Matt would be correcting me if I was here but the the latest one in that series that was set on this in this little fishing Village he plays this like hardcore dude that just proves to everyone that he he's got range well look what I look at is it's probably with if you're getting new James Bond I think it's time to sort of change the tone again yeah I agree with that I think not go back to like a silly but maybe bring in a bit more of that softness yeah yeah I I agree make it fun because that's the one thing I love James Bond and I I like the five that Daniel Craig did because they were so serious but I also agree with you I also just love Live and Let Die with Roger

Moore running over the crocodiles heads so you know I'm I'm down for that let's let's we've had the serious let's go back for a bit more fun again I think that they In Waves I I was reading an article once about how um why there haven't been any good Robin Hood or King Arthur movies lately uh they used to be out all the time yeah it's been yeah yeah and there's been almost none and the ones that have come out have been garbage and no one's liked them and this article posited that the reason is because every new movie about King Arthur or Robin Hood tries to do something new and different and the key to doing Robin Hood and King Arthur is to do them super traditional H and then every now and again you mix it up by doing a Men in Tights or something right

and everyone gets the joke because they've seen the straight versions whereas now if you do okay I'm Jude lore and I'm I'm I'm a [ __ ] Kung Fu version of of King Arthur people go I don't really know that much about King Arthur what is this whereas if you do a couple of proper just Excalibur movies just to get people familiar with it and oh yeah King Arthur he's pretty cool and then you do a crazy one you go okay that was a crazy King Arthur but I I did find the movie uh the show it was midnight mass that's it midnight mass and it's very good folks if you don't know what that is it's very good y we need to get online and let him know yeah we should we should get on Twitter and who should really start that yeah um did you uh

have you been on Reddit this week um I don't really understand reddits or no I go there again so I don't know the full details of this uh but evidently there's some changes to the laws of Reddit where for want of more money more advertising is going to happen yeah right that's that's my Layman understanding of it and a lot of people prot no a lot of people are very unhappy mhm but there's a loophole they can't put more advertisers on sites or subreddits marked not safe for work so all these subreddits perfectly normal things have decided to just become porn this week to protest um because they can't have extra advertising put on if

there's adult content I think the week before they shut a lot of subreddits just down like completely and so this is probably the next step where yes but this is the thing like people love to have it the [Laughter] that is going to be so good you're going to forget what Ezra did yeah so there's been there's been some doubling down on on those comments too by the way the producers have said cuz somebody said would you replace him if you did a sequel and and they said uh oh we just laughed when when they asked us that and I'm like that's not an answer I get what you mean but you remember he committed crimes right

legit crimes like we we're being very flippant about this he went to jail got out of jail and then went and committed more crimes right away like didn't wait the same day yeah and even if we're going to leave aside whether or not a certain event was a kidnapping or not a kidnapping we can at least agree he held up a family at gunpoint in their own home that had offered him accommodation because he was wandering around with nowhere to sleep anyway this whole this whole hype that this movie was so good that you'll forgive his crimes seems to be falling apart at the seams I was so Keen to watch this movie but actually the reviews are incredibly mixed uh and by mixed I kind of just

mean they've been quite mediocre you know people are saying yeah it's fine and there's a whole bunch of you know special fan service in there that you'll like if you you know like movies in comic books but actually it's it's not a great movie it's not getting high scores and it's not getting high box office either at the moment it's like the lowest rated of the DCU it's rated lower than Edward Norton's Hulk movie and the 2005 Fantastic 4 movie Bad yeah more people were interested in that than in this yeah I just uh and they've bet the farm on this they have and I think that's honestly why they they went ahead with it like we have too much invested to go and I think that's why they'll rolling the dier

hopefully people will just go and see it like yeah you just keep saying it's good yeah yeah but I mean just this overthe toop stuff Tom Cruz saw an early cut and found the phone number for the director and rang him directly and said I love this is the best movie I've ever seen did that happen did that really happen why was Tom Cruz the goto for yeah superhero movies been good or not when did that start yeah he's not even been in one has he he hasn't I think he spoken about them before no no no he he'd be more of it like I'm doing this real [ __ ] in missing impossible what's this yeah pretends stuff he's come out this week too and see you know that motorbike stunt that we all watched a

couple of months ago which looked pretty badass apparently they filmed that all in one day and that was the last day of shooting and the reason they did that was legitimately because if he died yeah then they could still have a movie yeah they were like the chances of you getting injured on this are so high we literally have to just make this the last shot we we shoot cuz he's now just know I'm doing everything now but won't let other actors do it yeah funny right I mean he he is in a world of his own though because I think there was a thing where Henry kavl was looking forward to doing like an angel drop like out of a and stuff and he's all done the training everything and then Tom Cruz come you're not doing it he's no no you're doing all this stuff I'm trained I'm ready to go

and he's no you're not doing it and just sh you don't argue with Tom Cruz you do not argue with Tom Cruz I'm going to go do it yeah even if you're a a TV star and film Enthusiast like Henry caval I will say this though that's probably one of my favorite Mission posses is the one he's in yeah I I like that very much and I like his character a lot yeah he didn't get to do the jump see those I think are better James Bond movies than a lot of James Bond movies yeah they're fun they've got humor they've got great action you need that fun aspect that we're missing with stuff these days yeah yeah which is why I enjoy James gun's movies he has the

right sense of humor and also but but not making things a dumb comedy you know he's just he's just very good at having a very serious movie with Hilarious Moments which is why it's going to be interesting to see what the DC Universe is going to be like now cuz even though he's there The Flash really wasn't the flash was done no correct yeah I don't think we can attribute to that I think Superman will be the first one with his stamp right on it yeah and that'll be interesting because Superman's not even generally funny to begin with I don't like Superman I understand there's something about Superman that I'll always just love because when I was a kid he was just the best like I still like chrisopher re you hear that music I still get I get bit teary when I hear

that music I grew up watching but Superman is just I can do anything and nothing hurts me and yeah yeah that's that's right and I think they must have found they must have run into that at a certain point in the comics too when they were like let's put Kryptonite in because otherwise this is just boring yeah but in the very early Superman comics he couldn't fly he could just jump really high he could leap tall buildings he wasn't invulnerable he could just deflect bullets but if you shot him without him paying attention it would still hurt him you know like they he got too strong for his own good yeah but yeah so we'll wait and see yeah yeah we can't James gun not flash so

can't blame him for this no so the other one in the DC Universe although not technically in the dceu I guess uh is that apparently there's now a movement online I don't know who's asking for this but evidently people are asking for the shoe market cut of Batman Forever see this is why we should never have given in audience I I I wish this was a video podcast because I wish you had seen the look on Luke's face when I had said shoe marker C cuz I knew that he would be disappointed to hear that people cared about this at all is it schoar asking for it doesn't seem to be doesn't seem to be what

Shaker still alive I thought he isn't he I think he hold on see if they say is or was was an American film director you go for it he's not asking for it at all I think your mate Uh Kevin Smith said that you know just because of his privilege as the you know the kind of most famous nerd in the world he got to see at some point he got to see a Shaka cut which was evidently longer and he was saying if you like Batman Forever you you should have seen the version I saw which was like an hour longer it was great and so now everyone was like well where's that it's probably long gone yeah yeah I doubt it was a cut was maybe an early edit yeah exactly no special effects no

sound effects no coloring yeah and and uh you do have I'm I'm I know it's bad to say because I don't mind Kevin Smith but you do have to take so many stuff with a grain of salt yeah I agree been I love this movie I was in tears for it and then it comes out and then he it's not that good and he tries to distance himself from I also feel yeah and I don't mind like he loves certain things and he's going to overlook their flaws yes in ways there's certain things will Overlook flaws too and I think we just have to take that as you say with a grain of salt like if if he watches he probably loves The Flash and he probably doesn't care about all the bits that other people are complaining about because he's like I just [ __ ] love

the flash so much just seeing him just seeing him is fine he love because he's he's more of a like a DC fan like he loves Batman like yeah so he he will Overlook at this a bit more and he will just yeah yeah was like when I saw Batman v Superman I was watching it going this movie isn't very good but I love it because I love seeing Batman and Superman like I've never seen that in a single movie before the movie just needed to end one of the three times it could have and not kept going and not had Jesse Eisenberg in it and no offense to him because he's a perfectly good actor he was just horrifically miscast yeah no he was for me far too young yeah yeah couldn't take him seriously I think that was the point though it was he was this little brat

you know but it just didn't work it just didn't work when you have Heavy Hitters like Henry caval and uh Ben Affleck there and you've got um look I'm still gon to say I feel sorry for Affleck yes I think he could have been a great Batman well another Kevin Smith quote this week Kevin Smith has said there's there's still a chance you'll see an Affleck Batman there's still a chance he thinks I don't know what his evidence is of this CU but they are friends they are they are friends he essentially gave him his start yeah but I remember he was going to direct and he was only going to be in it if he yeah was going to direct it and it was going to be good and he's yeah I'm only going to be in it's going to be

good and then it's uh I don't talk about Batman anymore yeah that's right cont him smoking outside the Batman set looking depressed he could have been a great Batman I really think but I think because they went serious yeah but like ibert Patterson's Batman the cannon Batman now what what's going on no that's still over here right to the they have and just to be clear Wen Phoenix's Joker is is is is in a third Camp right that we won't ever see them cross over and we won't see Ezra Miller go into their timeline got the dce euu then we have the Batman Rob pasan which is getting a sequel I the Batman and then you got the Joker which is his own thing which is also getting a sequel like this is where I think it's sort of good J I

think he they need to they need to do apple and stop with all these extra stuff and go you get this is the product yeah I agree with that yeah but ironically to that I think Marvel need to stop doing that I think Marvel need to stop trying to link all their movies together now you've done that it culminated so well in a twomovie thing you know you had 14 introductions and then you had the you know the endgame and what was the other one called uh infinity Wars Infinity Wars yep and it was amazing and that's when they should have stopped and then just go hey here's a Spider-Man movie here's a this or that the fact that they're still trying to link them together for me I think it's because the ones that have they have been a bit hit and miss cuz I think

they're now starting to get back to into flow of everything could bu but really I think the best thing they could have done was just reset yeah back to the start because now they're sort of stuck with you got these characters are retiring actors are retiring the thing and but you still got other actors who where you don't want to let them go because they're still great like Tom Holland and things like that and I think they're sort of stuck in this sort of limbo whereas the best thing to do is you get to Infinity war end game great done and now we'll reset and we'll tell another story from the start but we won't and just start off with different characters and lead in that way but it's a hard you the worst thing I think they

did do you remember the old Marvel logo for the movies like when you watch Iron Man and the first say 10 movies have the Marvel letters with the comic book versions of the characters in them now then they changed to uh You' got a bit roboty but we're still good yeah yeah okay it's just your video yeah and then they changed the actual actor's faces yeah do you want to turn off cameras or are we okay with I could no I think it's still okay we can still hear you fine no it's all right yeah yeah you seem fine now yeah uh yeah then they put the actor's faces in and I as soon as they did that I was like oh I think that's a bad move because Scarlet your hands is not going to be in these movies forever no and she's now not and yeah

they're not they're starting to lock move on yeah yeah and if you want to say have uh a new Captain America which they have in Canon and you know then seeing Tony Stark is just going to be strange in that opening sequence and even if they're doing these kind of soft reboots like you they were kind of I totally stuck sorry seeing uh [ __ ] what's what's Captain America's real name um Steve Rogers [ __ ] um yes had a complete who is he he's he's a Chris isn't he yeah yeah [ __ ] I've lost anyway you know audience know who I'm talking about um but you know they kind of wanted the Tom Holland character to

become the Tony Stark character you know what I mean he's an inventor he's very smart he's got gadgets and stuff like this too so like that kind of what I saw as a soft reboot you know you'd go from the old man to the young man and then you'd kind of follow him I'm turning the camera off because this has g a bit crazy got a bit weird stop cam um I like Tom Holland I think he's good yeah as Spider-Man but I think he's also oh I've got a note saying recording error do you have that that still looks like it's recording though okay it's still recording it may just be um I'm sure yeah it's still fine and we've got backups listeners this is this is just what

happens unless we want to make a note of 44 and cut it out um I like Tom Holland I like interviews with him he seems like a nice person and for a person who's incredibly talented and and is now very rich and famous he still seems pretty normal right he he's also he he loves what he does yeah yeah he enjoys it yes yeah exactly yeah and I like his relationship with Zenia I think they're adorable you know like I normally don't a [ __ ] about celebrity couples yeah yeah 100% they're a couple in fact cuz it's one of those things where they tell people like when you're acting like do not get in a relationship cuz yeah yeah if it goes wrong I reckon this yeah I don't know both seem like such normal nice people that they could work

it out even if they did break up I I don't know maybe I'm being naive but there's this whole meme at the moment because she's she's in this new tennis movie where apparently she has a threesome with two two guys right and I'm seeing all these people on Reddit and stuff going oh what why can't Tom Holland when he finds out about this I'm like okay a I'm pretty sure he knows it's not like he's going to find out when he watches the movie in yeah if you know he knows like she's not [ __ ] keeping it a secret because uh it's acting she didn't really let two guys [ __ ] her and somebody film it and then they're like oh can we use this footage in a movie like they're all actors they're all actors but she and they probably did have a she probably

think especially with with bisexuality and I'm know expert but I've I've had people say like like a bisexual person starts dating someone they're like oh you're not bisexual anymore like no hold on it it B doesn't mean you have to date a man and a woman at the same time you know or like turn off all all feelings you have for the opposite sex and it's like when you if you're heterosexual and start dating someone it's it's it's not like you stop being heterosexual and you're just you're just that one person it's like you're just you're deciding to just be with that one person it's that's monogamy it's not yeah yeah yeah ah the world is a terrible place um speaking of Spider-Man before we move

completely away from superhero movies I mean all movies seem to be superhero movies now so um you know it's it's hard to get away from it U the new Spider-Man and I'm talking about the animated Spider-Man across the spiderverse um is banned in um the the UAE the United arabemirates because um evidently there's yeah go on I was looking at this do you want to know why they cuz they didn't come out say do you want to know why they think it is because of spider yes please please because spidergwen Spiderman so you're you're playing around with genders because there might be this transgender thing with it being a female being the Spider-Man with SPID so it's not clear so that's what I in the last

one there was there was a pig yeah because amazing because God a female when it's always been a Spiderman this might not be this might be a transgender thing so we just shut it down I'm I'm speechless I am yeah speechless like this is just being so like afraid to question or accept or anything that you're shutting it down without knowing anything okay so just in case I was going to leave this for the Afterparty because it's controversial but I'm not going to say anything weird or or or or bad about it but I will just bring this up we've we've talked a lot

recently about books being banned in American schools because of their content you know Huckleberry Finn got banned because it has the nword in it um you know instead of just explaining the context to kids we just ban it right so all of these books are being banned um for these crazy things one school a parent was reading the Bible and realized that there's a lot of questionable stuff in that too and so the parents the parents picketed and they banned the Bible from the school and I'm not talking about like because we want to separate church and state they they they banned it because of all the [ __ ] sexual content in there the sexual content the violence the yeah yeah but it's like well yeah you know that right I mean like you read the Old

Testament there's a lot of really questionable stuff in there mhm so yeah I I wonder what the the the sort of the push back from that is because that arguments cuz a lot of times when people's books are getting banned it's more so from the religious side going this is not for what's they're going to be they sort of well this is fine because what I believe yeah because I mean I don't want to go into too much detail and I'm no biblical scholar but I know there's bits in the Bible that basically say God said to this Army go and burn down this Village and um if there's any survivors rape them you know like there's there's no two ways you can interpret that well he's some the think that they complained the Bible contains incest beastiality

prostitution genital mutilation felatio dildos rape oh my God wait there are dildos in the Bible I knew about the incest I didn't know about the dildos I admit yeah the dildos is a new one I didn't know about that but I I don't read the I don't read the Bible that often that may shock you yeah yeah no I don't read it a whole lot my favorite part of the Old Testament though is um when the two angels go in uh it's either Sodom or gomorra is it one of those two cities they go in and they they find I think it's lot I think it's lot and they go to his house there's two angels and they're sitting in his house and then every single man in the town and it specifies every single man in the town comes to their house knocks on the door

and says s out those angels we're going to [ __ ] them and yeah no no I'm not making this up we're we're going to we're going to bugger these two angels to death and then he's like no don't they're my guests instead have my two virgin daughters rape them and the people in the town were like nope it's either those angels or nothing and he's like no please rape my daughters and and and evidently this is not like a what horrible man it's a this man is so Pious that he would rather his own daughters be raped than Angels my God but I mean what kind of story is that you got look you got I'm not knocking the Bible you got to take the good with the bad you

know but yes the religious right is usually the conservative majority that are pushing back on this this sexual stuff in in in books I mean how they going to react to to the Bible being banned I don't know I find it hilarious if they started getting on board this I don't think they'll get on board they'll definitely be fighting against it but yeah that's what I want what can they say what can their argument be well I think that the argument will probably be well because the Bible's true and everything yeah that's God's law and all we have to abide by that but the other books that they're Bing that's all and stuff about that are corrupting everything oh yes yeah yeah yeah so that's man's corrupt worldly corruption as opposed to

well well even he probably filming um return as well because that yeah so it might have just been oh how funny let's let's just pop pop you in this he plays the principal at Elliott's School and he essentially plays it like a like a creep like a like a weird creepy old teacher um but the thing that I found interesting about this look I love Harrison Ford I'll watch literally any movie he's in but I'm not going to go out of my way to argue that he's a good actor like he's not a character actor he's a movie star he's a version of Harrison Ford in everything he's in but in this he seems to be doing a character he's putting on slightly different no it's not good at all it's not good at all that's we think like it's you don't instantly recognize him cuz he's it's

not his voice they don't show his face which just makes it weirder like why not going to show him it it is bizarre isn't it I it must have just been a goof you know he must have just said to Spielberg oh wouldn't it be funny if I just played a cameo in your new movie yeah no yeah for some reason in my head I had ET coming out before because oh we probably saw it before that's probably why I'm sure when we were kids we'd seen ET before we saw any of that other stuff yeah and it was hard not to ET was everywhere cuz yeah you got to remember like you were two when this movie came out I was one yeah and here's the thing too so what what year did

Return of the Jedi come out was it 843 83 okay so I REM I I have a memory of that movie coming out but I clearly don't because at three years old I'd not seen any Star Wars there's no way I could have been aware I know return of J was the first Star Wars movie I saw right the it was on TV though so it wasn't yes right it wasn't uh so I would have been it was the first time it was being on so 83 so it would have been like at least 848 first time on television remember like movies used to take a long time basically Cinema then a year then video then a year year so that's why I still remember very vividly that that would probably been 85 man I remember when

Superman came on TV for the first time I think that's like 1979 or something but it took him into the the mid 80s before they put that on because it wasn't a given at that point that movies were going to be on TV and it was like huge events people would be talking about it Superman's gonna be on TV and it would be like the Sunday Night movie was the big movie of the week and now it's movie comes out and then three months later you can watch it yeah that's right sometimes it's the same [ __ ] day um yeah yeah uh I my see my I saw Star Wars when I was four I remember very specifically I saw Star Wars as in New Hope and Raiders of the Lost AR in the same night because my dad went to the

video shop chose two new releases at random and brought them home and it would just so happened that they were the two favorite movies for me for the next 30 30 40 years but um then I saw Empire at my neighbor's house and I guess it had been out for years already but for me I just just assumed it had just come out MH and then I was in and for some reason I still didn't know there was a third one although it definitely existed and and I only knew there was a third one because I was in a toy store and I saw Star Wars figures of characters I didn't recognize and then somebody I don't know if it was my parents or somebody else just said oh yeah that's Return of the Jedi that's the third one I'm like oh there's a new

one coming out but as we've just worked out it would have already been out for at least two years at that point yeah cuz yeah when that movie came out you would you wouldn't have known anything you would noing 1983 no way you would you would Romper Room Romper Room you would have been talking yeah learning to talk yeah that's right I would have been watching [ __ ] play school Sesame Street at that point yeah yeah kind of insane to think about like the movie that really like shaped our lives and still controls us today came out before we were born I know I know it's crazy and we put so much emphasis on not just on that movie but on our identity as people who like that movie

and in a way that's threatened by people who like other movies more than that I.E you know the prequels it doesn't make any sense intellectually it makes no sense why I'm so annoyed by it but I am annoyed listeners I am annoyed cuz I've seen the prequels they're terrible but yeah the people who grew up and like the the prequels grew up liking watching them whereas the movies that they watched would have come out what 20 years before 30 yeah 20 years before yeah it' be like when my dad tried to show me Thunderbirds when I was a kid and like if on paper Thunderbirds certainly seems like a little kid who like science fiction would get into except I didn't like it

it was too oldfashioned you know what I mean like even as a kid in the ' 80s I had plenty of cool 80s sci-fi stuff to get into like I didn't want this 60s stuff Cold War era you know it just didn't resonate with me these weird puppets where the voices don't sink and and the weirdest thing about it if you ever saw their hands they were just regular human hands oh that's right if they cut to a closeup of like one like picking up something off a table they would just get an act to just use their hand was like no that is that is weird you can't you can't do that they can't be puppets with hands oh look um if you're if you've got real hands here how's this for a segue if you've got real human hands um use them
