Gobble of Fire: Wonder Woman 1984 & The Last Starfighter

into I think it's in the quarantine Zone cuz we're lockdown again quarantine Jesus but and I still like it it's still a good movie I think I've changed my mind I don't want them to remake it anymore okay I want them to do a sequel okay do you remember how that movie ended I don't even remember how that movie began the lizard guy turns to him and goes turns out you're the penultimate star fighter well no so he comes in destroys the enemy Fleet yay everyone wins goes home picks up his girlfriend and then goes back into space with the lizard guy to start rebuilding the Army and then his younger brother jumps up onto the arade machine and starts practicing I'm thinking they should do a sequel now okay same actors back and do like a Tron legacy type of thing the younger brother

would be 40 years old now so that could be quite good I mean we'd still be the target audience for the film I assume right well yeah I don't I don't care about other people I care about us so it that's that's my new what I want him to do no need for reboot or a sequel just do yeah just do a straight sequel it'll work and it'll make more sense than Tron I mean they are doing a lot of sequels to 80s movies but not a lot of them uh really obscure practically unknown movies like the last star fighter man is it is it I guess yeah kids don't know what it is it feels weird to feels weird to hear you say that but I suppose it is I guess it is it really is I mean don't get like we love it but we're the only ones who love it I remember seeing this at the Roxy in

param when it used to be a c wow hey I I I still I'm I'm happy to go on record and say I think this movie would do better than Dune when it comes out if they would to make a sequel to the last star fighter Luke just hates Dune what did Frank Herbert do to you he wrote a book and I tried to read it a number of only read the first page Luke the only thing you know about it the only critiques you make of that book are on the first page page and I've read that first page so pretty tight dun Idaho creeps up behind him page one yep and then I knew it was you coming because of the way you walk blah blah blah yeah that's not the interesting bit Luke read on read

on you got you never frontload a book like that Dan he's given he's given the game away on the first page it's like great this is a book about Duncan Idaho creeping up on people like books about sneaking I okay I don't like dun I've tried it's not going to work for me but I still honestly think I think the last St I would do better I really honestly do well like think about I know you guys love Dune but think about it for the audience General audience out there which movie do you think would do better I'm not even sure General audiences like space movies unless there's Guardians of the Galaxy in them and that's what I'm sort of going with like I'm surprised they want like I'm surprised you're not pushing for a

me so I uh I just listen to it on everything wallow in self-loathing as I as I listen so yeah yeah and just hope you get your one cent anytime anyone listens to one of your songs one cent wow 00001 Fair yeah ah the democratization of media so we've all made it to the New Year yes I think that's pretty good um now I went and saw a movie this week I actually went out to the movie I went out to the movies this week too Luke I wonder if we saw the same film I don't know I saw this um Little Indie thing called Wonder Woman 1984 yeah I think I saw an ' 80s movie as well yeah yeah or it might have been a series it was very it's a it's a remake I might have watched three episodes of the series

back to back that movie was strange it understand it I had no idea what anyone's motivation was and we the start of the movie didn't need to be in it at all the first 30 minutes and 30 whole [ __ ] minutes cuz it's a really unnecessarily long movie CH not only could you cut it but I thought okay this is going to be the worst movie I've ever seen right and I'm not a fan like listeners to this podcast will know I I didn't like Wonder Woman the first movie and I was watching this going holy this is worse but after that I've got to admit it kind of just became a nothing movie which was kind of okay like it didn't make any sense and it was

totally dumb but then again I find this much more enjoyable to watch than the first one which I felt was trying to tell me that it was a really good movie when it wasn't this one knew it was crap it knew and so therefore I just kind of enjoyed it one thing I found strange in it cuz I I still think that they went and did an ' 80s one because Marvel did a '90s one mhm yeah but they didn't really make it feel' 80s if that makes any sense it wasn't like a in in in a in a couple of ways they did you know like there was the Dopey scientist who was hot as soon as she took off her glasses and you know all of those kind of 80s tropes were in there um but I find they Wonder Woman is a ridiculous character she's ridiculous you know it's a ridiculous costume she

has ridiculous powers and so I think the only way to do it is to do a ridiculous movie and they did and the 80s were ridiculous so I think it works well that's I think that's why I didn't like the first Wonder Woman movie they tried to make it all Z Snider and dark and serious and I just don't think that works for Wonder Woman so I like this better but yeah cut 45 solid minutes out of it yeah yeah cuz I read an article that said that they um the studio pushed to get the beginning of the movie I like I said I haven't seen it yet uh I know that there's two kind of pre-movie things that happen because from this article and Warner Brothers was like can we get rid of those and then yeah and py Jenkins was going no ESS be in there in like sound like I

heard she she wanted it in there in case like someone was watching this was their first Wonder Woman movie so oh oh so that that did have some backstory to it but but that's what I liked about this or it's what I thought I liked about it was that this goes back to those old superhero movies where it's not an origin story it doesn't connect to a bigger Universe it's just this is one Adventure starring Wonder Woman they went and tied it back in in a whole lot of completely unnecessary ways I.E Chris Pine didn't need to be there yeah but you know what are you going to do I I still the one thing I still can't understand is this movie doesn't make sense to the Justice League movies no but I'm kind of okay with that because I

[ __ ] hate those as well cuz when bleck comes in and sort of tries to get her to come out and be active like he's a photo I found of you from World War I she was running around in the 80s like a lot of stuff and hanging out with Chris Pine so it's like oh your long lost love from 100 years ago try 20 years ago yeah right yeah weird but I don't care it was just a dumb movie where one woman was doing stuns yeah I probably won't watch it I mean I will at some point but I don't there's no need to Matt there's no need to there's no need to but but honestly Matt it's better than the first one not that that's saying much I like the first one better you do okay go y first one was just so nothing this one is more

nothing but in a good way I also read that the last time the first the first one cuz the end of the first one was just awful that horrible CGI [ __ ] Fest which is I mean I feel like there's the equivalent of that in this too well yeah well I read that they didn't uh they made her change the ending of Wonder one the original one I mean who knows if this is true this article to that yeah this article said that the it had a much smaller scale ending the first movie and they made they wanted to have a big battle yeah big CGI shitfest and so they they made her do that CU that's what everyone wants that made me wonder if if this one would be better because she might have a bit more freedom but it sounds like not really she got the freedom but then kept

stuff that yeah it's not needed like yeah she fought for the opening half an hour which has no bearing on the movie does they don't even try and tie it back in later in the movie it's just her doing stuff right being a hero is that what it is it's her being a kid being a kid oh oh oh oh it's her being I get I got like it's um to set up her backstory flashback yeah there sort of two 15 minutes long just to get to a point where her mom says something to her not her mom her trainer says something to her that then factors in later in the movie then we go to another Preamble that's got nothing to do with the plot just to see her as galad do in the Wonder Woman costume because you then

never see her in that costume again for another hour and a half right she's just Diana Prince for the whole movie until the end where she's like [ __ ] it I'll put the skirt on but it did so well they've now fast tracked the third movie I don't think it has done well I think I read that it's not doing very well at all this week I'm seeing two sides of the two separate articles coming out like either they say it's done really well their Fast Track or it's done terrible and I think it's I think it did to judge it on I think it's hard to judge it on what they used to judge things on because yeah used to be box office you can't just go off box office anymore right they should just go off this podcast that's what they should do for all movies from now on Y and it's

easy for us to see all movies now cuz there's only one two out at any given time I still didn't see it well it's still dangerous for you to see movies Matt oh yeah so you know it might be dangerous here soon too you know we have we've got something I mean you say that but I can actually I can literally just watch it in my living room if I if I wanted to that's true and we can't do that no or I would have cuz it cost me $100 to go to the [ __ ] movie yeah Jesus Christ I don't know I don't know what it cost here it's what 18 bucks a ticket and then you be and then your popcorn and so the eight that the 100 bucks was just for tickets four tickets cuz I took my niece and nephew as well so qu and I nie and nephew

$100 $25 a ticket [ __ ] hell so you're getting ripped off it's only like yeah I think it was 18 bucks for us yeah this Cinema has really done it done itself up like all the seats are leather and it's got [ __ ] Neon Lights showing you where to sit and stuff and they feel you they can charge 25 bucks for that yeah hey they charged it and you paid it so they're right seriously when my [ __ ] TV and my couch gets here I'm never going to the movies again I still like it and I think I like going more now than I used to because they're so empty yeah it's certainly a plus yeah I read a thing that compared Wonder Woman To The Last Jedi and I'm not sure if that was just attempting to kind of start a little bit of a a war online that it doesn't seem like it's

it's it's got that level of nonsense going on I wouldn't say It's the Last Jedi I would say it's more like rise of Skywalker you'll watch it and there'll be no need to ever watch it again people either love it or they hate it well I think they me in the sense that critics went Gang Busters for Wonder Woman 1984 and everyone thought it was going to be really good because all the critics were like yeah it's great and then they that's when they said oh yeah let's fast trck the sequel and then it came out and everyone was like well this isn't very good is it yeah which is kind of what happened with The Last Jedi and there's a lot of not very good like what I don't understand with these big movies like maybe it's so expensive that you have to make them really long

like maybe it just doesn't justify the cost of $200 million to make a 90minut movie you know what I mean maybe it's it's you know it's 210 million to make a 2 and a half hour one and they're like well that's more economical to do that but like when I saw do you see just don't do it the movies well they just they they just don't know how to write characters are they just meddling too much is that what it is I think it might be because like I understand what you're saying like they may be saying like we can't give people a 90-minute movie cuz they're paying so much and look at what Marvel do theirs are all go for over two hours but they've got a little bit more substance yeah Marvel they ain't yeah I did see an article this week

about um is it Ray Ray something this the guy who plays Cyborg he never work he'd never work with the head of the DC films people again not that I don't think I think the feeling is mutual there um but yeah that's I mean maybe that's got something to do with maybe they are metalsome and I he was talking particularly in a in a I think bunch of uh racially negative ways I think is what he was talking about treated by just Sweden was yeah so I don't know if that would apply in in Wonder Woman's case but you know just maybe they are think say what you want about Disney but I think Disney's strategy is get really good storytellers and just let them do their thing now sometimes that doesn't pay off Lord Miller didn't pay off Ryan Johnson

didn't pay off but like Dave filon [ __ ] pays off oh yeah like Kevin fige [ __ ] pays off you know what I mean like they when they get it right they get it right and they keep investing in their people whereas like you know Zack Schneider and when he didn't do well they killed off his daughter and you know all it's just you could just see the mations cuz when do we get the Zack Snider cut because that's going to be happening soon isn't it yeah he he's still posting [ __ ] on Twitter or not did you see what he posted this week hint hint Jared Le oh yeah have people worked out yet and start to understand that this is all still not going to be good couldn't even make it through the new trailer the new trailer is [ __ ] awful it wasn't like

that the stuff he gave us before this was good and everyone loved I'm I'm more interested in this just as a as a kind of a uh an interesting bit of Pop Culture you know like the whole Snider cut thing I think is interesting and I'll watch it on that basis I'm more likely to watch that even though I hated that movie than I am the new Wonder Woman movie just because I still think it's setting a bad PR unless enough he makes it good like this if it is good that would be worse because it means that if people [ __ ] and moan and complain enough they can go back and redo things yeah and we don't want that no we'll end up with Mass Effect

32 yeah M when's Mass Effect come out oh God knows I don't think there's a date for it I think there's probably not even a game but you watched another movie I watched soul and uh oh yes I concur with you Matt this is a wonderful movie falls apart a little bit in the second half and I think the ending holds back a little bit from what it could have been uh but I W for it to land yeah correct but honestly this was [ __ ] great and I didn't the whole first half it's not [ __ ] kids movie the second half like once there's a cat in it it's a kids movie yeah till the end you kids are going to

be like like it's about very I guess grownup yeah stuff about turns to me 30 minutes in and she's like dude this movie is about you man yeah I'm like I know yeah it's about like what you know why you do why you doing what you're doing and why why are your dreams your dreams yeah and like what what aspects of Life are passing you by while you're so focused on trying to achieve your yes artistic goals it's like that um quote from uh from Harry Potter where dumore says this is true I'm not being a dick dumor says it doesn't do well to live in dreams and forget to live oh that's uh that's good that's good maybe I'll check out this Harry Potter someday it's a little Indie Little Indie uh I I do I do want to watch Harry Potter one day I've seen one and a half of the

movies years ago I I want to finish watching them you mean as in be done with watching them forever no I think I stopped watching around it was either the Goblet Fire or the Phoenix so three four more movies uh gobble of fire gobble of fire is that the name of this this episode yep go yep Harry Potter movies are quite good I I must say I like them uh but not as good as soul I really liked Soul uh Luke you should check it out yeah you should actually Luke I think everyone should I'll get to it it's it's funny and it's uh touching and yeah Matt Matt did you cry uh I did not cry I not there were

too many people around oh I didn't cry per se but I I got very emotional I got very chok choked yeah no no I I think I said last week I felt very like uh I think I said I felt attacked uh yeah but that's yeah yeah yeah yeah I found not in a negative way I was just like oh all right fine no no no but then you think to yourself well it's easy for you to [ __ ] say you're [ __ ] living your dream screener that's right you just made this film yeah exactly [ __ ] you you don't know me yeah all right Trent resar who just scored this film oh man oh I want to talk about Trent resar for a sec too right because I need to I need to make a formal and public apology to Trent resar and adus Ross um not because of this movie although they did a great

job of the of this music in this movie fews ago week few weeks ago we said I said that you know what you get when you hire Trent you get their [ __ ] the sound of a finer film exactly and we decided look there's there's nothing wrong with having a style uh then I watched Finch's newest film M which is a joy it's a seen it but I've listened to the soundtrack and I was like a joy if you like Hollywood and old timey films and [ __ ] me if they haven't just created a old timey Jazz score that sounds right out of an old movie like I was I take back everything I said about them yeah yeah this soul I mean you can tell the bits where it's them cuz I mean Soul has it's it's a you know it's got musical stuff that's not them yeah got a lot of jazz

and stuff like that that's um in there but when you when when it is them you can tell but it's also more I guess I mean it's a Pixar film so it wouldn't doesn't make sense for it to sound you know like [ __ ] I don't know uh I can't for some reason I'm blanking on any finer film think of a single finer film it doesn't make sense for Dragon Tattoo exactly it doesn't make any sense for it to sound like that and it doesn't no so but the sequences that their music features in it's not just doesn't give it away the [ __ ] afterlife like I don't know how they sold that to the executives like we're going to do this [ __ ] Kafkaesque abstract minimalist nightmare

so funny I this looks very unique I think I don't think mentioned that the other week but the yeah that art style is [ __ ] intense I so good I want to watch it with a kid and just see if they're [ __ ] terrified by it honestly just nip out and grab one yeah it'll be fine hey want to come watch a movie yeah I've got a I've got a got a video player in the van how does it plug in and what's a video player yeah highly recommend it yeah I do too can I recommend something else it's not a film yes it's a television series and I watched one episode of the other day and then had to watch every episode of both seasons uh and then I cried into my hanky that there was no more and I watched every little clip and

interview online and that's succession on HBO with Brian Cox um this is [ __ ] Shakespeare in the modern world and I loved it I loved it it's a borderline soap opera so it's kind of like a guilty pleasure but it's about this uh immensely wealthy family who just [ __ ] hate each other and all of them are just trying to be the CEO of the company that their family owns and it's it's [ __ ] King Le um in America and it's great the dialogue the dialogue it's just I've seen this not not seen it but like but like yeah I've been aware of it too and and I just hadn't been interested oh it's comedy drama all right I it's not a comedy but it is

immensely funny and if you if you want to be convinced that I'm not doing a good job go and watch nerd writer's um little five minute video essay on it and it will convince you that's I feel like I've seen somebody mention this in like a YouTube video or something as a well you might have seen R he does just the dialogue yeah it's amazing and it's made me really appreciate Brian Cox too cuz I was like what is Brian Cox in and like IMD beat him he's in [ __ ] everything and he's invisible I couldn't list any Brian other than X-Men right other than X-Men I couldn't think of what he was in but he's been in so many films and he's always great and and and he's just such a a powerful presence I'm I'm like I can literally picture him in something and I can't remember what it

is yeah that was kind of my attitude as well and I'm probably picturing a number of different films just not realizing it well I think that I thought he and Brian Den were the same person for quite quite some time cuz I was like Brian Cox yeah he was great in the Rambo movies no he's not in them you know what I mean right yeah yeah Brian deny died this year right oh he did he did why didn't he come up on our list [ __ ] it I'm changing my crocodile to Brian Den too late Hitler's pet Brian Denny I want that in print somewhere I know we already named this episode but please make sure that's in the blur I've just been continuing to watch Elementary a lot it's very I did watch I did watch an episode of that and I I

thought it was quite good Johnny Lee Miller is really good as uh as homes and uh and Lucy L great like so it's good it's good show well this there's a lot of stuff that came is coming coming out now I just this week uh season 3 of Cobra Kai came out got to catch up on season 2 I loved season one but then for some reason I haven't gone away season 3 I watched in one day it's it's good the acting is not the greatest the fight scenes are also not the greatest but it's just a good show there's a lot of kid acting in it which which turns me off but I think some of the fight scenes they had especially when having like lots of people fighting background you could see where it's like okay I put my arm here and then I hold here while this person moves to the left and that's karate

yeah if it's real people in the fight scenes and it's already better than the fight scenes in Wonder Woman though which it just cuts into a video game cut screen every time there's a I've not watched any of Cobra Kai and I know everyone says it's good but I just I don't know just doesn't interest I'm sort of Happy that it did get a season 3 and even season 4's coming cuz after YouTube went we're not making stuff anymore mhm so Netflix picked it up it's the [ __ ] was a top rated show at at one stage too like people are eating this up and it's 40-year-old guys like us and kids my nephew's 10 and he [ __ ] loves it he wants to do karate now yeah right Matt remember Karate Kid how much we lost Karate Kid yeah I S of the movies mate [ __ ] watch Cobra k

then what are you doing I don't know it's I'm just not I don't know watch the first episode for next week it's half an hour watch one if you don't like it I'll never mention it again just yeah like I said just Johnny is the good guy yeah but he's also not they're both they both you you can both see both are the good guy but they're both also terrible yeah yeah cuz they they yeah exactly they're human they're rich I've got wellth thought out characters I got another six seasons of Elementary I got to get through before I can watch something else no no you I mean you do you do love your Sherlock Homes the other good thing about elementary is that it's it's a good oldfashioned American TV series so it's got 24 [ __ ] episodes a season it

goes forever it just it's all the new ones you know new series is like his six episodes or something and it's it's over too soon this goes on forever it's great I'm sure the writing will taper off no man they just sack their Riders and get new ones yeah Fair yeah I also watched the first episode of the new season of the expanse which is a [ __ ] fantastic show and I need I'm not even up to date I'm not even up to date with that I got to watch season 3 still that's um that's a show that Jenner is not interested in at all so I got to watch it uh by myself at some point too much space politics which is and I was going to argue and then I watched the first episode of season and I was like there is a lot of just talking about space politics in this

I'll I'll just let that go that's going to be a me show I mean space politics is like the second best thing about space behind space space existentialism and slightly ahead of just space shooting yeah and IDE you have all three which they do like they cuz I guess they got to set up certain things for the season that so there's this first episode in particular there's a lot of lot of people sitting around and politicians talking about you know we've put sanctions on this and these terrorists have come in we've had to do that and I was like yeah she's not going to like this never mind I'll let it go great show though it also has space monsters that's what I was I was like maybe you know it's got space monsters

you like monsters in space but also politicians she is American though so I can understand why she just doesn't want to hear about politicians fair oh I watched something else sick of them I watched Charlie Brooker death to 2020 I how is that so you Charlie Brooker used to do his screen wipe where he would do a mockumentary at the each year about the the Going's on and he hasn't done it for many years because he's been busy with black mirror and all of that he's done this 2021 and it's surprisingly good I laughed out loud many many times it's well worth a watch it's it's silly it it's silly but it's also quite clever okay all right I might give that a go

and watch it now don't watch it in a year you won't care you won't get you won remember the the jokes you got to watch it now while it's all sort of relevant yeah there a lot actually happened last year that you sort of just forget about I saw there was uh on New Year's before the the Time Square ball drop which was [ __ ] miserable this year by the way did you see that that I mean obvious for obvious reasons but it was just like it was even worse than I had imagined just cuz I mean there was there were people there but they were in like little cubicles and there were not a lot of people there and then the the it was already midnight and then they still had the musical guests singing and I was like well they [ __ ] the timing up on this and then they started the

countdown I'm like well was it's 2 minutes past now and then the the ball came down and then just a couple of little fireworks shot out the side I was like oh God so who was the musical guess that was so important they couldn't cut away from them I don't know it was a you a woman singing imagine no no of I guess no not not not someone I listen to but before all of that they had a retrospective of all the people who had died in 2020 and I I was I kept going oh [ __ ] yeah oh God him too oh her oh I forgot about them like just so many yeah like bri that's how I remember you know when

you said Brian I was like oh yeah he because he was part of that Montage it was so Montage well like even when you brought up in a couple weeks when you like Chad rck Boseman like I forgot that happened and that was only in August yeah yeah well I know it's 2021 now but I'd like to i' I'd like to nominate a geek of the week oh all right did you guys have one last week is this the first geek of the week of the New Year well it's the first podcast of the New Year yes I think the other one came out on uses day didn't it oh yeah but we recorded it before yeah we weren't in I don't think we did have a geek of the week I no no I don't remember you doing it this uh nomination uh is an actress by the name of Tanya

Roberts uh she is a Bond girl [ __ ] we're losing the Bond girls man we've had so many Bond girls go in the last couple of years and a she was inew to aill not the best definitely not the best one of the worst in fact B movies it's one of the more memorable ones though that's true that's true but she was also in a film that we talked about only a couple of weeks ago Luke she's the girl from Beast Master oh I've got to watch that I'm trying to remember that I mean if you Google Tanya Roberts you you mostly just get pictures of her and cheap 80s adult magazines I'll be honest um Academy Award win she was not oh Google auto correct I typed in ten yet and it it auto correct like like

bit Luke does the his house well no no no I know Luke Cooks we know this we know this about Luke but what I also know about Luke is that he doesn't do the dishes because he doesn't like getting his hands wet so are you just letting the dishes pile up in anticipation of Hannah's return what happened was for some reason when Hannah's like here I just forget to eat oh okay and when I remember to eat I'd get takeaway and just eat out of the containers that came in and then just throw the containers away okay I like how he's not denying that he won't do dishes no I I I don't do dishes I don't like getting it's true I don't like getting my hands you know there's such a

thing as washing up gloves for exactly that purpose because some elderly women also don't like getting their hands wet when they do the washing up yeah but I I I don't buy any of them you you could though you could youn do that then I'd have to get plates for when you make your spaming eggs that's what I used to do when I lived by myself maybe just get yourself a dishwasher we do have a dishwasher now but sometimes if it's just one person he has a dishwasher man he has a dishwasher still dish yeah but his dishwashers in Queens [ __ ] dishes [ __ ] that's a joke spit a I spent I spent absolute fortune on buying some bottles that are dishwasher safe for my soda stream I got a stream for Christmas did you yes

I did [ __ ] I know for 60 bucks you can buy two one lit bottles that a dishwasher safe M okay cuz Hannah won't wash the bottles she won't and good enough so I just threw them away and brought really expensive ones instead are they Glass by any chance no then I want glass ones cuz when I was a kid can get a glass one okay I want to look for that explode you don't you don't freeze them no no no like cuz you're you're no you carbonation I I'm just asking when I was when I was a kid we had one and they were all glass cuz not as many things were plastic when we were kids but yeah what happen you don't completely fill the bottle so in a liter bottle you fill up like 720 mil and then you put the bubbles in and that's then

so if you were to fill it and then try to carbonate it that's where it'll go everywhere I bottled my first batch of mead yesterday I saw that so last week or the week before you were talking about how you have trying not to even drink in your house because you have a pregnant wife and it's unfair now you're making your own alcohol well I mean you've leled it up I started it six months ago right beforehand uh and it needed to be puddled so it started the impregnation or the so have have yeah all at the same time yeah have have you tried any of them I did I did I tasted it and it's quite good and apparently it only gets better so I was pleasantly surprised by that but yeah so well that's good by the time we're allowed to travel again me and Luke can come and

visit we can try some meat cuz I like meat I've got a bunch of bottles of it I'm going to age some what's what's the key ingredient m is it is it hone yeah so I mean meat is so easy it's it's literally a a bunch of water and you dump a bunch of honey in and then you heat it up so that the honey all melts and then you put it in a in my case a you know Carboy in like a gallon jug mhm uh with some yeast and then and Al I you know put some fruit and stuff in there as well to make it little delicious but uh that's all it is and then you just leave it for six months and then or although I I did you know rack it as they call it into other car like other bottles so at a certain point all the yeast goes to the bottom you end up with like a sludgy gross bit at the bottom so

you take get out of one jug put it into another jug leave all the crud in the bottom and then let it sit again oh okay so you can make just Perpetual meat yeah it's kind of like you just filter out all that crap at the bottom and then now so this this time I could just put it straight into the bottles um and it was yeah and then uh I mean it's pretty alcoholic I don't have I ordered one cuz it's ridiculous cuz it was $10 I don't have the tool the hydrometer that you use to measure the alcohol content H so I have no idea what the alcohol content is but I do know it could be one or 20% it's quite High yes but as you guys disced there no laws in America about how much you can drink uh so [ __ ] go if you yeah it's it's illegal to distill at home yes but you can ferment whatever

the [ __ ] you want it's it's not it's in austral it's still it's still legal to use a steel but you're only allowed to distill water can't legally which who's distilling water yeah everyone who gets caught making corn cob moonshine steing some water I don't know what you're talking about cuz with fermentation the yeast turns the sugar into alcohol and but then at a certain point and I mean it can never get that alcoholic because once it reaches a threshold the yeast just dies the alcohol kills the yeast and then it stops so like it's never going to get more than like 20% a so I wanted to steal my own gin now that'd be neat how do I do that I looked into it if it

wasn't federally illegal here I think it would be okay in Rhode Island but it is federally 145 bucks I can buy a still huh New Zealand you do it over to New Zealand I know that because there's a guy on YouTube who does it in New Zealand w i can get a 100 liters still that's a lot of $1,000 do you need 100 lers of gin you know what I'm going to I'm going to withdraw that question I'm start with 10 lers cuz 10 lers is only 145 bucks what do you need what do you need to make Jin Luke actually don't know cuz when I've made Jin myself it's been by using vodka and then just distilling Junes yeah well I mean vodka is just a quite basic distilled grain alcohol right so I think you just make vodka and then do the same thing and all Jin is is

vodka with juniper that's it so I imagine that's all it need to be Jin I another is another thing I always thought uh and it is sort of true I thought all vodka was made of potatoes that's not true just some of it is oh really I thought that what oh yeah I guess that makes sense cuz like all whiskey is not made from the same thing either right so it doesn't have to because I I guess I thought if it wasn't made from potatoes it wasn't vodka yeah but no it's not it's not like that it's it's weird it's like the whis and stuff like you have rice whiskey and cuz I remember I know listeners who saw Jenna and I on the big head mode uh fallout drinking uh what was that pub crawl that we did on the live stream many many years ago we'll know that Carlo brought

his Polish potato vodka in a filthy bottle and that was supposed to be the every time in the game we drank irradiated water we had to do a shot of of this potato vodka uh and and then listeners will also anyone who saw it also recall that we got [ __ ] drunk and the producer and started flipping and random switches and the produ yeah the producer uh left cuz he was like I'm going to bed and then we were just left in the studio uh live on stream until some God [ __ ] forsaken hour of the morning I I I wonder if there's a video of that somewhere because I obviously have not seen it there must be right I experienced it but I haven't seen it so well maybe not unless they exported it it may be gone forever yeah maybe it's a

got some chicken in it yeah yeah we've got this salad with the bacon and just eat around that it'll be fine and I'm not one of those people that gets grumpy with them they just don't know it's fine um speaking of getting grumpy um I'd like to talk about something that makes me incredibly angry um but not anymore so a couple of weeks ago we did our games of the year and uh my runner up was a game not from from last year from 2016 actually but last year it was back in the news and we played it for the first time so I counted it as a 2020 game and that's this war of mine I talked about how I hated it and how it made me sad and how I couldn't stop playing it cuz I just needed to win I just needed to [ __ ] win well boys I [ __ ] won I survived the

war so what to survive you have to survive like 45 days or something it changes it changes basically goes through Cycles so you you do your summer your winter there's a a period where there's just lots more looting and it's just it just ramps the intensity and it was incredibly difficult it took me several days to play this one campaign um and actually by the end no one that I started with was still alive I lost two people from my original party in one night the first night it got cold Jesus um and I had just one person left somebody else came and knocked on the door and I invited them in then the other original person died and then this one poor woman did the last 20 days herself [ __ ] hell which is probably you're probably lucky that that it

worked out that way because she had no connection with those other people she didn't get straight away depressed with everyone dying around she just walked in and gone sweet I've scored myself a house with all this food it wasn't quite as simple as that um and actually after the winter it but it got to the point where cuz you know you try to stockpile stuff but I was getting raided so often that it wasn't worth me having anything in my house I couldn't use on the day I found it right which was just this extra level of intensity and since it was just me I could either go raiding at night or stay in guard or sleep but not one not more than one of those so it was challenging but also the containment of it made it kind of easier as well in

some ways too so I think that's why I got my problem with that game is I I don't pay enough attention so I'll I'll get distracted by something and I won't read something correctly and I'll do something stupid like forget to send someone out you to the someone by mistake you go somewhere you back to the same place you went that you already cleared out yeah yeah and you come back go sorry guys I didn't get anything oh you're dead never mind then I'll be off I'll just eat you but that's not the only game I've been playing because uh I finally just [ __ ] hooked up my Xbox series X so that's a thing now my TV is still not here but it's hooked up to my monitor this monitor right here that's I talked up to you as well yeah yeah what do you think of the load times [ __ ] me

so good right you turn on your console and it just loads your game at your last Point like amazing yeah and can does it with multiple games it's not even like it's just that last game you were playing you've done a fast travel in in Assassin's Creed Odyssey yet yeah bam straight there yeah amazing amazing there was one issue which I discuss on safe this week is uh I'm playing Modern Warfare that remastered now there's a little exploit to finish it on veteran right so you play the game on recruit get to the last checkpoint and then you sort of quit out go to restart the mission uh on veteran do a hard restart uh reload the game and load it up and it takes you to a checkpoint you're in veteran it's great except the Xbox loads too quickly

legitimately yeah this is how he gets his gamer score go on mhm yeah it's it's it's above board sure yeah sounds like it it's not cheating it's just an exploit that was found sure so I'm going to have to hook up my old Xbox just so I can do this so I can get the veteran achievements because I'm not good enough to play it on veteran cuz you're not a veteran yeah I play it on veterinarian yeah that's how Jenna plays it too that's why she's so good at it oh there's a cat behind you Luke sure that won't surprise you so you're loving the series X are you going to check out cyberp Punk Dan I am you can you can check it out now even though you're hearing terrible things it's fine plays absolutely fine on the Xbox series fine yeah you're really

selling me absolutely fine Luke alerson no no it is it is I'm still playing fantastic yeah yeah yeah look I I I will I wanted to I wanted to just straight back into uh Assassin's Creed hesty cuz I've just really missed it but [ __ ] me I just met up with my mom with Alex 's mom and I thought okay this must be getting towards the end of the story now but I I've still got half the map at least maybe more yeah it's [ __ ] huge that's what I was saying yeah what else can happen [ __ ] oh I got up to the I know the bit you know luk what you said in cyber punk you get to the bit where it says point of no return yep yeah I've got to that so a lot earlier than you'd be expecting isn't it yeah although because you'd said that when I the particular Quest that I'm on I was like I bet this is I

bet this is where it's going to happen and then yeah so yeah but you're right yeah you could get there pretty quick if you just yeah I think there's less than like 10 missions for the actual main story line which is not a lot so I'm ignoring that for now and doing some other stuff yeah that's all I did once I found that I just went stopping that and then work out a system to go through and do every other Stu I am a little I'm a little like I don't know I'm I'm I'm not out of things to do yet but my quest list is getting smaller and smaller and I'm like oh man like H I wish there was more to do which is funny because I just complained about how Assassin's Creed Odyssey is just too [ __ ] big this is like the opposite and even with the Witcher a lot of

people complain about that was there was too much so this time they actually went look we're going to yeah and it's all good stuff that's the thing is like every Quest is is a good solid quest with a storyline of voice acting and and an actual it's not just some you know not go here do this and it's the same [ __ ] over and over again there's nothing like that it's all I am interested to know what they're going to do with the DLC that they sort of mentioned was going to come out cuz how far has that been pushed back now because they're just trying to fix it for consoles now the first lawsuit has been brought against them in yeah that's the other thing they are they putting their monies into lawyers right now surely yeah it sucks it's a real real shame that's what

you get for outright lying to your investors yes not the developers the uh the suits no the developers are more pissed off than we are about any of this good yeah they would not have been sitting there going it'll be fine we'll fix it later they would have been telling people they wanted more time unplayable do not release it they wanted more time they were not given more time and other thing I've also said all they needed to do was a couple years ago just not say it's not coming out on PlayStation for an Xbox one anymore yeah I know complain to be fair at my job if I say I just need more time can we just not release then people turn around and say no you just have to [ __ ] do your job quicker well it is sort of the problem with that video game

development cycle like MH you don't get the money until it ships yeah MH so you going I need more time means you got to get more money from investors and other people to basically do it and I mean cyber Punk is a very complicated game yes like it is it is very difficult to make a video game like that like and that's the thing too is people are like oh it took him what eight years to make the game and it's it's it's so short but but like they don't spend the whole eight years writing the story that's like making the game work MH mhm they built an entire city that feels lived in yes that's what took the because I guarantee that they didn't

even start the story until probably a couple years ago cuz they were just too busy trying to figure out how the [ __ ] does this thing work like the how does the world work and then they built it and then they made the story and I don't know I just hope we get more stories in it even like other characters and I don't know just it' be great it's still sold very well sold over 13 million copies so I think we're good for them releasing more Stu just going to be a wait now and for people like us who have on the Xbox series X like you're getting close to finishing I finished it that wait's going to be a bit more painful for us cuz we're going to have to wait longer now and lately I've had no issues you know we were saying like early on I had

a few issues with glitches and stuff I've had no issues at all the past couple of weeks still have no idea how it runs on the Xbox one I'm not going to go find out cuz yeah I know we said we might do that but I can't be bothered no why why go play a terrible version of the game you're enjoying yeah exactly don't to ruin it for myself well you guys can continue on here if you want but I'm going to head over to the Afterparty oh no I might just I might just hang out I'll hang here let me keep talking about Assassin's Creed Odyssey man you know what I really hate about Assassin's Creed Odyssey anytime you're in the [ __ ] boat I [ __ ] hate it oh sure you know what I hate about Assassin's Creed Odyssey assassinations and odyssey
