completely separate processor on the in the phone that software does not have access to if the if the mic is on that light is on yeah no no matter what you tell people they will not believe it they don't need to listen but fny thing about it is all these people complain that they listen they still go and buy the next version of the iPhone it's true like they're still buying it yeah it's cuz it's awesome but it's listening into our stuff yeah yep I'll never understand that thinking Jenis phone pooped itself this week oh that's s a couple weeks ago but it took us a while to realize that's what was wrong just uh no reception not went away from Wi-Fi mhm well not no reception just not good reception and uh

and and then like it just like it took her a while cuz either she's at work most of the time or she's here and then it's kind of like just didn't notice so much that yeah when she's not in one of those two locations and not on Wi-Fi she can't make a call or go on the Internet or anything like yeah so um apparently s22 Ultra it's a thing the antenna just justop yeah just stops working that sucks I'm thinking I want a new phone I want get one of new folding phones oh yeah what uh was the the Google one Google made a folding one right yeah they've got one now and I'm thinking now that it's not the first one so they

might not have the issues of the they did the last time yeah yeah my God this expensive I know I I I did look at that one I've seen somebody uh I follow online not in a stalkery way like someone who posts about tech stuff you follow Instagram account it's fine you're not no no I think I follow their RSS feed for their blog actually um has one of the Samsung big foldy ones yeah and he loves it he said he tried it out as just a test because he thought it was going to be stupid and he just found that he loves it I can see because it's it's just a normal phone until you want to do something big and then you hold it out and and I think the technolog is better

than when it first came out I think when it first came out you saw the creases happen quite early on in their life yeah yeah he I think he said he doesn't even notice that there's like a weird there is like a weird thing in the middle that you if you look at it you can see it but otherwise he doesn't notice it yeah but yeah no I I want one but I can't justify $2 and half thousand for a pH that's a lot that's a lot I kind of wanted one of the new iPhones but mine is fine I'm looking at it right now which means I'm looking at you the Watcher on YouTube and Luke looking right at you but yeah like no um you don't need to get a new phone every year you just want a new phone every year well I've had this one for two years so yeah I try to get last

actually that's interesting we've got an Xbox article that I I don't want to ask you about this we won't do it right now well yeah but it's relevant to that and then um yeah and and always board games which is going to be a bigger area this year you going to tournament it up I have to keep up on record of losing the most tournaments at packs MH I've only won one pity Medal did someone gave you this because they felt bad no I did win it but it wasn't an official tournament okay who did you win it from I forget I don't know who I won it from but no no it was the guy's running it the packs actually put this tournament on just for me it was um what the game is you got to build a pyramid and move a

monkey you got to build a tower thing okay and I won that Rhino hero I wasn't expecting that name but okay yes so it's not a monkey it's a rhino you move okay that explains the confusion Y and yeah they put that on and I won that and I got a medal for it there you go but it was a Pity medal you're not wearing it I see no it's up on my wall oh pity metal but still up on the wall yeah still a metal yeah true still earned it yeah sort of I'm I'm going to try and get one Hannah's got tons of metals yeah just put some of hers up in there I have all right fine you're saying this Xbox news yeah yeah yeah yeah so uh I thought this was interesting and I particularly wanted your opinion on this

because I hadn't even noticed this was a thing which I think is interesting in and of itself apparently the the the the first paragraph of this article took me by surprise because I was not aware this was a thing let me read this to you in 2024 when a new game is announced you can usually count on it to be released on PC PlayStation and possibly switch but it's become a bit less of a guarantee that new games or ports will land on Xbox consoles and it seems Microsoft is aware of this and is's asking devs why is that true I haven't even noticed that I haven't noticed that but that's not to say it may not be happening but it's because I look at stuff that's coming to Xbox so I've got yeah I wondered if that was it too but

yeah cuz I I was like oh I didn't know because they mentioned last month enotria the last song launched on PS5 and PC but not xbo I've never even heard of that but they just because it's not on Xbox so it's not on my radar I think that's it cuz yeah but I know that um one one de recently theyve said like we were going to come to Xbox but we've had a hard time with the process so we're just not anymore okay reached out to them and actually helped them do it I forget the name of the game but maybe yeah I know uh I think actually mentions it in this article uh and we've got some balers Gate 3 news I know balers Gate 3 had issues because they demand you have uh you support and series series X and X yeah right so

whereas um Boulders Gate 3 wasn't feasible on the series S without work except it wouldn't the multiplayer wouldn't work I yeah I think they got it working to a degree they just they just didn't really want to compromise and they had to in the end but yeah so maybe that's and I think of it Microsoft need to stop that like you unfortunately you're not going to be have everything run on both I can understand why they want that but if it's causing this I mean presum like I said I haven't noticed this but if it's a trend I guess eventually we'll start to notice so they want to kind of nip this in the butt and because then it got me thinking too you know people talk about online still these days how like I

often see the sentiment that play the PlayStation is winning and I'm like is it I don't even feel like that's a thing anymore is it just cuz I'm old I no here's the thing is I think Microsoft doesn't care anymore about winning the console war yeah I think the console war just fizzled out I think Sony wants it to keep going but I think Microsoft as I keep saying I think Microsoft are planning for the future with no consoles right right yeah and I reck and I reckon there's going to be one more console generation and then it's all going to be streaming and that's why they're setting themselves up with Game Pass and buying all their Studio that reminds me did we talk about this article the other week um no let me move this up because that's relevant too

there's a a new law in uh California that is relevant because it it's a a law that states companies must clearly um admit that when you purchase digital content you don't own it ooh they have to make that more clear to customers because there's been a lot of issues as I'm sure you recall with content disappearing from platforms notably uh MythBusters got pulled from Sony right was it yeah and then oh a bunch of stuff got pulled that that was the particular example and people don't people just don't understand that when they buy stuff like and I mean I don't know it's going to prevent them from doing it because it is very convenient but they should know right you're not buying

you're buying a license to watch it and that could be taken away I always wonder what would happen if they ended up buying this the license back to sell it again if the people who purchase in the past still have that or if they have to purchase it again through them that's interesting always wondered that cuz stuff does rotate through yeah yeah yeah yeah that's common but but I don't know how they can how are they going to change that like well and if you're right if the future is you don't have a physical console well then you're physical games cuz there won't be any how are you going to put it in yep well physical games don't work oh that's a good point too oh except for the switch Yeah but a lot of the times a lot of them not even I guess

cuz you still got to patch them yeah you're right it doesn't even count yeah like you don't all you doing when you buy a disc is it's basically just giving you the option to sell it on if when you finish using it cuz it's install it's got to do updates and most of them are online somehow but I guess they can't like if it's a game right they can't take the game away from you right a sense although that's not even true either no um just recently I think the crew yeah the crew um you even if you own the disc you can't play it anymore cuz the servers are shut down oh but I mean okay so that's a partic that's a specific example but say it's an offline game only like say bers Gate 3 right bers Gate 3 the single player doesn't have any multiplayer online stuff

but they could still block you from playing it yeah even if you had a disc yeah yeah that sucks yep unless way even when you buy the console it says that like you need an internet connection for it yeah yeah wow that's but no I don't know like how are they going to make it that people will understand that they don't own their digital stuff the only way to do it is to change that buy button I think it's probably to do with that is you can't say buy because they're not buying it they're renting it like well not renting renting is not even the right word because you can still rent them it's like a a lease

yeah yeah it's it's weird it's really weird if compy break a loc of face fines of 2 and a half thousand for each illegal listing yeah yep y even in this article it says ubisoft's actions with the crew further highlighted just how widespread this issue is yeah there you go people paid for thing mhm they can't have it anymore because apparently they didn't pay for it they just paid permission to use it for a while until the company doesn't feel like letting you use it anymore like I can understand with the multiplayer stuff like if they'll keep that going as long as people are playing yeah the second people stop playing it and just the costs are jusi that's when they shut down servers but like yeah it's not like even cuz I was just going through

my head I'm like the switch is probably the current gen console that most you could go buy a physical game pop the cartridge and and still play it but even then that's not quite true because you still have to get patches and updates because Nintendo is not perfect and then I was like oh the DS the 3DS n still games got patched for that even if you had the but like the about this like the creu example like you could I played this game I didn't play online I just played it single player but now I can't play it anymore whyde because they shut it down that's bizarre and this is why it what why does everything have to be online these

days because people do want it to be online except when stuff like this happens it's like well why can't you just turn that bit off yeah I don't I don't care if they are or aren't online What's um no man's sky has some online stuff like I don't want that I'm playing no man Sky I want to just be playing it by myself yeah and it's like um a game that came out just recently Test Drive Unlimited Sol the crown I've been looking forward to this game for ages it released I even brought the Gold Edition took I played a week early the game didn't work oh no the servers just kept crashing and crashing and crashing I finally got a refund for it but I kept trying and trying I didn't want to play with other people I just want to play offline but you can't because of the

servers that's [ __ ] stupid and so it really ruined the game for me yeah I mean I think on my PC oh yeah on the topic of Boulders gate we'll get to that I think on my PC I can play Boulders gate without an internet connection wonder if that's the same on consoles and speaking of Boulders Gate 3 now has mods on consoles yes which is interesting news and when I saw that uh it reminded me to check something not because I don't particularly care about mods I still haven't finished the [ __ ] game because it's on my laptop I don't play games on this very often it's a very big game yeah I don't I don't think to play it on I don't when I think oh I might play a game I'm like on my switch or I'm on my Xbox I don't even think

what should I play on here um they do have they had at some point enabled ages ago when I looked they hadn't now you can save move your save games or cross save basically so I can get the Xbox version yep and then keep playing it on that which I might do it some point when it's on sale I didn't know it work between them and Xbox yeah it goes through your laran account okay that's great yeah yeah hell good cuz I thought yeah because you were buying but like cuz different stores completely and yeah as long as you l in with a a laran like the developer uh it'll do it that's excellent yeah but I don't want to pay full price for it on Xbox no to wait it's expensive also I'm still playing alen wi too yes I played a little bit more are you up to wake it oh

I've been I have been already I just like wait are you playing like the Alan Wake story more oh no no I just I don't want to spoil anything I just completed the the thing as Saga that I was in the middle of and I will switch back to alen wake when it's appropriate now which will probably be very shortly I played a little bit the other night yeah okay yeah no yeah because oh you're in for a treat oh yeah I thought you were playing it the one to one chapter one chapter type of thing no forgot completely forgot I've just been playing it a saga that's fine it works that way still it's been I've been loving it yeah and you're going to love it even more when

you see the other side cuz it's a slightly different game can't wait mhm especially one level that I love very exciting I will uh yeah I'll get back to that when I can I've also been playing uh Echoes of wisdom with my daughter great game highly recommend it the new Zelda oh yes oh and I went back to breath of the wild randomly the other day and I was like canot play that game I played it I was like H I haven't I wonder where I'm even at in that game I loaded it up played it for five minutes and now I'm addicted again really I just I like it just I just hated having to go into battle with like 20 different weapons cuz they all broke sure that's not a Zelda game for me I have my sword I need a master sword and that's it well you won't like Echoes of wisdom

then because you're playing a Zelda you don't have a sword what does she use you can when you encounter certain things like if you defeat uh a a enemy y you can use your what's it called staff of Echoes perhaps to capture its Echo and then you can summon things like Pokémon not quite but sort of like if if you say you walk into a room and there's a bunch of baddies you have to go okay I'll just summon four snakes and then the snakes go and attack them you can't actually attack oh okay yeah I don't think I'd like that I think you might it's pretty good it's pretty good game but no achievements well

depends there's the achievement of achieving things in the game and just knowing that you did no no Xbox achievements yeah I need them that's fair um the uh Starfield expansion came out I've installed it I have not played it yet word is it's not great it's fine not good it's getting very bad reviews which means it's probably fine it's probably just like the game I think that's probably what's happened games like when something like this comes out and it gets super negative reviews to me that just means it's just fine yeah cuz when yeah people basically when people out

there they either will vote give it a 10 or a one that's it there's no in between so normally something like this like the bar was very high so yeah yeah I I'll play it when I get around to it but yeah it's I think it's just Starfield wasn't that great I keep forgetting that it existed to be honest I haven't even tried it since I introduced the buggy so that could be fun no me either I was super into it for two weeks and then I literally completely forgot that it existed well it's sort of weird cuz like what I've loved like Skyrim and for that games is you love exploring that's part of it but when you land on a planet because it's just generated every time there's stuff to explore but it means nothing yeah unless it's a story related it's so you can spend a lot of time in

going around the planet finding stuff but doesn't add anything and like no man's sky is like that but no man's Sky's gameplay is designed around that whereas starfields is not starfields is like Skyrim but with that added yeah like like that's Starfield is meant to have a big story whereas um no man sky is like you create your own story there is a loose story back more playground than a yeah yeah yeah I'm with you yeah well it's a shame so I I will play it at some stage and let you know but probably not this week yeah but yeah like I agree like it's probably just going to be fine mhm well something that apparently is really good and apparently is one of the best horror games of 2024 which shocked me when I read this because I thought

this was going to be garbage apparently the Silent Hill 2 remake is excellent okay this review says it will blow your mind and that fascinates me because when I saw footage of this it put me off because the the the the nurses vaulting over obstacles and stuff I was like oh no that's not how the game goes apparently apparently it's it's good shame I won't get to play it yet you get to play it eventually yeah cuz Sony must insist on still doing ex paying other companies for exclusives next year right we get it yep

Oh actually I could play it on my uh yeah you can play it PlayStation good point like yeah you wait when is it out is it out now um if the reviews are going out it'll be very very soon if it's not already out October 8th and normally reviews coming out this early it means that like games have got out early it means that it's good they're confident that it's going to be reviews yeah yeah normally if they're not confident they won't send out review copy embargo will be like the day after the day of release and yeah yeah get those pre-orders yeah but no this is bastards I think they're proud of their work it's going to be good but yeah just I'm going to have to wait a year that's a long but in saying that I might finally be getting Final Fantasy 7

at some point okay because they've be distracted by this now they'll accidentally approve the law no rumors are going around that they like Final Fantasy 16 and is coming which is also Sony stole and then 57 cuz we just also got like the pixel remas of all one to six games I saw that the rumors are coming around that not that we may finally get it which I've been dying to play it cuz I love Final Fantasy yeah and apparently the seven remake is different to yes seven which is a lot more action focused yeah I don't know if I like that more what do you mean action focused um I think like it's you don't have like the it's a bit like future games where you control a person characters like

they run around and stuff it's not just that it's my turn attack my turn attack I see what you're saying yeah okay cuz those games are they're quite slow these days I'm trying to go through and play through like the regional Final Fantasy 7 at the Final Fantasy at the moment and it's hard like because you got to walk around then you get into a counter and then you got to fight but the good things about those ones you can speed stuff up yeah so I I played through I never finished it um a Bravely Default on the 3DS which was very good and then I stopped playing it but it was it's like that uh but yeah and you can hold down one of the bumpers to fast forward because otherwise it's just [ __ ] tedious yeah and with those games you do need to grind a bit at some stage of the

game to really but this one I can turn my experience and experience up to like times Falls so I'm leveling up very fast so everything's going to become quite easy very quickly is that a cheat ah it's in the game okay all right that's fine doesn't block achievements oh it's like a setting game setting or something yeah yeah I probably would do that too because it's [ __ ] boring yeah it's just to speed it up like I'm still playing the game but yeah it's just means it well that Final Fantasy 7 had the um Materia animations that went for [ __ ] 10 minutes mhm where every time you sumon and then the first time you did it you were like oh wow this is cool and then it's like next time it's like yeah okay

I've seen this y it's a skip yeah and then for it to not do a lot of damage was very frustrating I remember finishing that game that was I finished it completely good game it was yep back in the day back in the day that was probably the game I really stole someone's PlayStation for whose PlayStation did you steal should we not say let's not say okay but that was that was the one I that was the only game I really wanted a PlayStation 4 was Final Fantasy 7 does the person know that you stole their PlayStation they got it back okay mysteriously or from you specific me oh okay all right wasn't I didn't steal it steal it I just borrowed borrowed for a very long time so I could finish it okay all right that's fine just

checking yeah cuz it was a very long game it wasn't something you can do in a weekend yeah know and I've told the story a million times but my parents got us a PlayStation for Christmas and that game was the one I wanted mhm and I was so excited but they didn't get us any memory cards mhm and uh I didn't want to wait so I played it and then turned the PlayStation off and then and then did it again when we got the memory cards yeah go all the way through the you know the factory the start and all that stuff down into midgar and all that again yeah at least you knew that was happen it wasn't like I thinking I can get through without without dying cuz the problem with that game is

you won't die early on in a game but no it does get to a point where it gets harder yeah that's a good point I didn't even think of that I could have died yeah cuz that was when start stuff started to change from retry to just game over well know that I don't think I even knew that you needed a memory card until I got to a save point because it has safe points you can't just save anywhere yeah and then there's one in the factory the Shinra Factory at the start and you get to it and I imagine I would have been like oh [ __ ] I don't have one of those trying to see if there's any movies on

at the cinema yeah should I go say joker apparently not apparently it's a mediocre Musical and a [ __ ] movie should I just watch Joker again maybe I'm not sure I mean I liked it but I'm not sure I'd even bother watching that again to be honest no cuz I don't know I'm in the thing where I want to go to movies but there's nothing on I a good movie this week yeah on uh Netflix I don't know if we've ever talked about this if either of you or Dan have seen this I think it's probably more dance thing than yours have you seen as above so below As Above So Below I will say no it's on Netflix I think and it's a movie about it's a bit like uh a bit like Tomb

Raider to be honest okay mixed with The Descent have you se you remember that movie The Descent yep yeah Tomb Raider mixed with The Descent team explorers Venture into the catacombs that lie beneath the streets of Paris they en cover the dark secret that lies within the City of the Dead yep okay what that this afternoon then the main girl is uh very Loft like it's as Loft yeah they they they took the character of Loft renamed her and put her in this movie which is fine it's good fine it's got that it's got a bit of Indiana Jones it's got a bit of like I said The Descent it's got a bit of um The Ninth Gate it's got it's it's it's very good okay oh the only thing that put us off

at first but it's fine is that it is technically a found footage it's shot on like shot as if they're filming it like yeah kind of like Cloverfield style yeah but some of them can be good yeah it honestly I I forgot that it was after a little while because it's done very well or did they forget that it was as well at some point no actually and there's some interesting things to do that I don't I don't want to spoil anything because this movie goes in directions that I didn't even expect it's great it's really good really clever really interesting uh a little like it goes so far into stuff that it's almost campy but it's just it's just doesn't seem to give a [ __ ] it's great it's good it's really cool okay

um and there are some things I need to look up or go back I I was like I go back and watch it again or I could just look up and someone's almost certainly done this it's like because certain people have cameras in this and then afterwards I was like how'd they get all this footage and now I need to check whose footage do you actually see I know who had cameras but then I was like hang on do we see footage from all the cameras I'm I'm not sure now maybe you know what I mean like maybe they actually did think about that and it's cleverer than I think it was or they just forgot like maybe you only saw the footage from the cameras that made it to the end of the movie you know what I mean like that kind of thing yeah yeah I'll have to check yeah going

to be really smart or or they just didn't think of it yeah yeah hopefully smart but it's it's great it's really good okay yeah I've got my afternoon sorted then yeah kept getting recommended but because of the found footage thing yeah like Jenna was like yeah I don't know I've like some found fo like grav encounters haven't seen that that was good I think I think it's grav encounters sounds familiar I just haven't seen it yeah Grave Encounters they just bump into to my graveyard yeah grave counts a 2011 Canadian found footage Supernatural film they blocked themselves inside a abandon mental hospital oh that's supposedly haunted

oo and then they made a sequel which wasn't as good haed god there new Saw movie again I I I've seen s smile to smile to I'm going to go see I didn't mind the first one I got to watch that I lik the marketing for that that was cool where they just got people to just smile baseball just smile at the camera yeah that's good very clever wait who is this person what do I know from oh oh okay who is it um the girl from that Charlie's Angels remake I was like I know her from something oh not the horrible one no no yeah yeah that's a yeah all right

that's where I've seen it before never mind in the trailers not in the not in the movie not seen the movie um what do you I talk about we've got uh spotify's got a feature like do you Spotify how do you listen to music um I normally just listen to my music because sure particular tast taste yeah yeah so what do you use for that um just VLC oh okay like on your what about on your phone or you don't VC oh okay all right you just copy MP3s onto your phone or something yeah or or I will use Google music okay all right fine well I use Spotify I use Spotify or I use Plex amp yep to do my my MP3s that are down

there cuz I've got some stuff that's not available on other places yes CDs from when we were kids of bands that no longer exist and things like that yes um got a quadbox CD on my desk right now oh have you yes [ __ ] show me it can I see it quad box quad box oh wow look at that [ __ ] there we go the best of quad box yep was there enough of quad box to have a best of I guess there was I think they were they sold me a CD actually they sold to me twice I lost my last one I managed to find one online a couple of months ago I keep trying to find that band nail that I used to follow around and befriended that at the time I thought were very famous but they were

just a penth band Yes well we're at that age where we were following the bands around we thought were yeah but yeah and then we went to into the rehearsal room uh they they we started a band went to this rehearsal room they also rehearsed there so we said can we watch you rehearse and they were like I guess and then we just became friends with them mhm and then yeah but then at a certain point realized they're actually not very famous they we we are their fans yes but now we're not we're their friends so they just lost some of their fans yeah um but I often try to find their EP but it's obviously it's not on Spotify or anything no no you got to go like

eBay and stuff and there's a few that's not a bad idea actually yeah you got to go eBay and secondhand music stores you're never going to find they're not going to go on to Spotify yeah EP pen but I forget there's also I forget where I brought this but there is like a secondhand music store and they do get this type of stuff so I'll try to remember what it is and let you know all right yeah any listeners who happen to be from Western Sydney and know what I'm talking about nail the band nail from penth I want the EP so if you have it send it to me it was on cassette I don't think CDs even existed yet potentially if they did they certainly couldn't afford to put their stuff on one I'm

trying to track down a skulla EP on cassette that I had and left at my old work at Toys R Us when I left there years ago but I'm trying to track down a copy of it and I cannot find it anywhere I think CD burners hadn't been invented that's for sure oh well I think it may have been around the time I remember was probably around the time I brought my first CD burner but I didn't buy it we went in quarters so four of us went in and we brought a two times speed burner yeah right times twice as fast mate yeah because before that you had to burn it at the speed that it was like like a cassette tape we you know what a cassette tap is [ __ ] off yeah we could do it two times faster yeah cassette tapes are what I grew up with yes yep with that weird there's like a

long history of records and then there's a brief window of cassette tapes that's where we we we up just that tiny little perod then CDs and then CDs cassette tapes man and now what's a CD yeah I still buy CDs I buy um soundtracks because I'm sure I've talked about this before there's a weird Phenomenon with soundtracks where often the studios will only license the rights to the soundtrack um for a certain period of time like for example a soundtrack that I there series of movies that have way better music than they deserve that's the Transformers movies y um Steve jablonsky does the music for those and the fourth movie I think it is yeah fourth movie has a very good soundtrack

and I used to enjoy listening to it on Spotify and then it vanished mhm and I was trying to find out what the [ __ ] happened and Steve bonsky himself posted I think on Twitter back at the time and said yeah sorry they only do like short term licenses for these often because they don't think people will listen to them yep and so like I said often sound movie soundtracks disappear even with the Scott Pilgrim movie soundtrack like which was the songs right some of them they like when I brought the album and then I was listening back hold on it's missing tracks and yeah they just those tracks weren't there anymore yeah the licenses go yeah it's weird how that happens um this different different case Alan Wake had issues with soundtrack stuff

licensing I mean different but that kind of thing yeah because yeah the the music doesn't get as long a license but I I buy every now again I'll buy like a vinyl album because I just like to have them yeah yeah though I have yeah I have CDs of a bunch I H bunch of H CDs Danny Alman just movies I like the soundtracks to you can listen to them whenever you want I have the Hackers soundtrack cuz not all those songs are available on um Spotify anymore so that the Hackers soundtrack and then I have hackers Volume 2 and three which are additional stuff and songs inspired by the movie or you know kind of like on brand there a way to make you spend more money but they're quite rare I found them on eBay I was like hackers two and

then I was like oh no it's just another soundtrack [ __ ] yeah I'll have that and then there's three of them music we think you like if you brought the first one yeah yeah and it the it is and I often um like we were talking before about the licensing thing I often think I should buy movies on Blu-ray I do sometimes because they can't take those away right no but then my Blu-ray player is my Xbox yep so maybe that's not true a lot of people what people tend to do I've seen a lot of people they'll go out and just buy like a old PlayStation 3 and that's their Blu-ray player oh yeah I have one downstairs yeah I've got one as well but then like now I'm thinking this is all pointless right because yeah I've got DVDs too I've got

[ __ ] thousands of the DVDs that are in a box in the basement I will never use again because they're not there's no the quality is bad but I suppose if they took all the movies away and I couldn't get them anymore I could always dig those out but the thing you're only the only time you're going to want to dig it the only time you're going to want to watch something is when they take it away like you're not going to notice it any other time you may not have watched this movie for like 10 years the second you hear they're taking it away you're going to be upset I do that though I buy movies that I love like in sales on like iTunes or whatever and I go I go ah there I have it I'm not going to watch it right now no but it's there now I go through and I'm like I'm

haven't watched I've watched these movies in my life yes have I ever watched them on Apple TV where I bought them probably not no I do the same the Xbox sales I have sales every week and sometimes we get $5 for a movie oh I don't mind that one I'll grab it never watched it yeah that's a good movie that I've seen a thousand times yep yeah but what Spy movies what's that what's Spotify doing by the way oh yeah sorry Spotify uh a thing I like about Spotify I think the others all do this but I find the way Spotify does it be quite intuitive is that you can uh make a playlist and then flick it to save offline save all the songs onto your phone I quite like it's quite handy you can do it with albums now too you can do it a bunch of

ways and um B problem with that is that sometimes on the iPhone it'll clean up and I think you lose stuff sometimes when you do that um and often before I go on a flight yep I will forget to um downloads some particular stuff that I'm after uh anyway they've got a new Mode called offline backup and you can turn it on and it will in the background download the stuff that you're kind of into at the moment yep preemptively in case you want it and you don't have any internet access I think yeah um we have a problem yeah no YouTube music does that as well okay yeah I thought I thought you was you get it bad to say I think I've got to go no no no so we'll your favorite music for offline listening smart downloads is always

updating based on your recommendation and history and I can just say how much space I give it that's cool all right so it's got a gig that it can sort of play with YouTube music if I have YouTube premium yes yeah so I'm I'm paying for all sorts of stuff I don't yeah that's why I went that's why I have YouTube music because I had premium oh yeah course I've got playlist in here apparently um yeah the thing is I've got a family Spotify account and like Jenny uses it and we've got uh a special account for I'm not going to say her name because she's going to respond to me if I do but there's a certain little box over there that does things when I tell it to yep and that uses an account oh okay and we have like a special

account for Vermont so that the little Boxers whose names I won't say because they'll respond yeah uh can be used by people up in the okay well yeah I've got the family account on YouTube premium as well yeah right okay and I only have that because I hate ads I so when I was in California a little while ago I I was like a maybe I won't renew my YouTube premium I'll see how I go maybe I up with the ads and it was I literally I got home from the I got back to the hotel from the office sat down and I went to put a YouTube video on and an ad came up and I was like I instantly got my credit card out and I was like [ __ ] that yeah it took not even a whole ad as soon as what appeared I was like [ __ ] that yep don't want to see it and it's interrupts all

the times I know I have not seen a YouTube ad in a very long time yeah I forgot they put him in at the middle as well yeah yeah yeah no that's so it was jarring I was like why am I seeing this oh God yeah that's right I didn't renew [ __ ] it I'm renewing it now well same thing happened when um Prime when they started to put ads on M when watch on ad no no credit card straight out how do I pay to make this go away yeah I pay I think it's like three bucks a month here to get rid of the ads on Prime yeah I did that because I'm watching um oh [ __ ] I've got to watch the last episode of Mr Robot this is a weird coincidence right yeah I've been watching Mr Robot loving it right I've got one episode left yep the other

day I'm getting towards the end of season 4 the episode I'm watching finishes I'm like three or four from the end and I see there's this notice that says uh Mr Robot leaving Prime in four days [ __ ] I've got to hurry up got one episode left imagine if you got through all that and just for to disappear that last episode that would be I mean I would just get the episode from somewhere but yeah yeah I was like oh [ __ ] that's that's like that's a weird coincidence like just timing and but but thing it's sat on there for years waiting for you yeah yeah I know I'm sure yep man I can't believe I'd never seen that show I won't go on about it again I know went about it enough great show gets [ __ ] crazy at

the end okay no spoilers goes in a direction I did not expect but loving it for some reason I'm just watching Star Trek Enterprise again Enterprise not the greatest I think I canceled my Paramount plus cuz I didn't use it enough oh no this is on um somehow it's on Netflix here oh is it yeah I canceled my Paramount plus as well maybe it's different here but yeah Paramount plus the only stuff on there that I was interested in was the Star Trek stuff and I was like well yeah I kind of lost interest in in it I'll get it back once um the new season of strange new worlds comes out I didn't like that could get such a shame cuz I was like oh maybe it gets

better but then everyone was like no no it just stays as stays as good as it was like h yeah okay I didn't like it yeah that's just a shame because it is sort of back to the old days of just each episode is his own thing yeah they get into trouble they solve it move on well there must there is overarching stuff there's overarching yes but because I know that there's a there's a little girl stuck in that transporter I know that's not going to be resolved quickly um I don't even think they've mentioned her again is that true I don't remember having heard about her in quite some time seemed like quite a big plot point at the time yes but evidently I've heard rumors that because I did the musical episode in

season 2 I've heard rumors of doing a a muppet episode three so they're just trying to do all the Buffy yep take all the Buffy notes well angel in that case yes we have people around we have people around to watch the air Grand Final which was atrocious by the way yeah I was going to see if you watch cuz I saw the score and that's embarrassing not as embarrassing as the time I went to the scg to watch uh it was in Melbourne but we went to the scg to watch it on the big screens that was worse uh but this was still not this was still not good um but you lost by 60 points how could it have been worse I think we lost by more than that last time I think I think I think it was it was bad last time oh God yeah not good but we have people around to watch that and um like I don't

know halfway through the game somebody who said by the way is that an angel puppet over there and we were like what oh yeah it is yeah it's the smile time puppet and they were like why is why do you what is that and then I was oh you haven't watched the show have you like well you haven't watched all the show certainly yes that's a thing shouldn't have been a thing why that's a good episode I know but it's ridiculous it is [ __ ] stupid but whatever well I actually going to I'm going to watch a grand final today as well but one I have no interest in either what are you watching the NRL Grand finals on today oh who's in it penth and mour my brother was on the

news oh anything particular yeah the the St triple homicide or no no no no no he does the the video at uh stadiums yeah I'm not even sure all all the places he does it anymore but it's I think I'm pretty sure it was related to the to penrith being in the Grand Final ah when you said that I went oh that's why Ben was on TV y y yeah that's today I have no interest in either of the teams winning no pen pen and who else Melbourne Mel yeah the Melbourne what storm Melbourne storm that's right yes that's right they don't have a PL there's not there's no s on the end it's confusing the Melbourne storms just the only team that doesn't have you got rabitos Tigers Dolphins yeah right

Steelers everyone has an S on the end except was there ever not another team no even new new town Jets yeah right for Mages Bears there you go they thought they'd do something different yep because they're from Melbourne are there other Melbourne teams no just the one yeah right it's like the opposite of the AFL yes that's why Victoria is very much an AFL State whereas New South Wells very NRL we got we I'm still in New South Welly yes wisian two teams right in AFL I think still just the Giants and the swans yeah I think so gws yeah and but no I don't pen have won the last three so I'm over them winning Melvin storm have they won the last three remember when there were the

chocolate soldiers or whatever they were yes I had a jersey I won at a raffle once that was signed when they had the chocolate Jersey yeah yeah had ad um I put on eBay cuz I never want never want anything and like why no one's going to want it someone brought it for like $180 or something oh really wonder if my mom still got that I doubt it but yeah every they go money came off yeah no they came off of mine as well and they still sold yeah right yeah cuz we used to go to the games when I was little I just used to watch the crowd apparently well I know a lot of the kids when used it was a hill that you get boxes and you slide down oh yeah yes penth yeah people got that's how some people got to

work um I need to hear about these Watch Dogs glasses are you a fan of Watch Dogs I've played the game so apparently these kids I say kids I don't know how old they are they're Harvard students um they created these glasses that and look at this photo right they're just they're like the uh the Rayban Facebook type ones where they they're a bit big frames but they're not that big these things have AR things in them like uh you know like kind of like the meta smart glasses they just showed where it puts stuff up on the in front of your eyes it uses facial recognition and it does like in Watch Dogs where you walk around you look at people and it tells you their name and apparently a disturbing number of other facts about

them that it can get from the internet because people share way too much information yeah I'm just watching one just and like walking down got a picture of a guy and sort of got their home address and like all this stuff that's just out there yeah terrifying not terrifying in a in that like I mean this information is available yes right it's terrifying that we're making this information available yes and these kids were just able to do this because not any or anything just from the information you shared that you've got out there it can find it yep yeah it's like I remember reading this thing that said that you should be

really careful like posting on Facebook when you go on a holiday because yes thieves will know that you're away and that's the time to yeah I didn't even think about that stuff don't use Facebook but yeah you should take photos and then you just do a f a dump of photos when you get back yeah well I don't even do that I don't post anything on Facebook no I don't but I don't post anything anywhere yeah I just don't I don't I don't know I just don't think my life's that interesting and yet here we are on a yeah here we are at episode 578 yeah this is where I share my stupid ideas yeah we share everything here like everyone knows that I'm not going to be at my house this weekend oh that's right you be packs yep but they don't know where your house is I know that's public

information I don't know I I don't even know where your house is I I haven't I don't really post my house anywhere neither do I I don't know oh there was Nate will remind me there was an incident where I may have accidentally revealed too much about my location but I don't remember what it was Nate will let us know not not to him like um I don't care if he knows I think the general public you know what I mean oh no I do think some listeners may know where I live cuz remember when I sent out coffee C mugs I put my on yeah right actually that's a good point I think when we were doing the newsletter

that probably just had my address on it because they you're legally required to so probably all right so I'm doxed yeah we've all done it yeah pretty cool pretty spooky but pretty neat but also kind of useless well it depends on what you're doing if you're like a criminal or a con artist probably be useful because you could just know stuff about people and be like hello I'm your uncle and you owe me money and people do fall for that mhm cuz what there's that whole schem at the

moment where people just get a text message go hi it's your son and I'm in trouble I've had to get a new phone can you send me money and people do yeah I know we're talking about that the other day excuse me I apologize it's late here um we're talking the other day about some of these scams and how you know because Jenna was like oh why do they keep trying this stuff and I'm like fall for it CU there was one guy on Reddit who said his granddad fell for the Nigerian prince scam twice because this he said after the first time how did they get you again and he said well I didn't think it would be a scam twice like that's not how that

works it will always be a scam but no I I listen every now and again I'll listen to those um YouTube channels where they're like calling and talking to scam be and I find them hilarious but it's also quite sad that yeah CU they are doing because it's working and some of them are quite abusive to yeah they do not give a [ __ ] no well the problem I mean not to generalize but I don't think their living conditions are that great no so like why would they care no like it's they're not doing it just to be evil they yeah it's not good that it's happening but it's I mean these people are doing you know yeah these are often desperate people yes yeah yes in in yeah in third world countries doesn't justify it but yeah no

no no sort of understand they work for companies then this is their job unfortunately that's how this works and the company and with this the company still makes a lot of money they're not seeing all that money yeah it's terrifying yep but yeah the reason why they keep doing it is it just it keeps working that's why they have to have signs up at in stores saying gift cards no one's going to ask you to pay any gift card yeah yeah don't do that that's why celebrities have to post well they don't know they have to but they do post and say if I message you asking for money it's not me so stupid like why is celebrity going to message a complete stranger and ask for money yeah I sometimes see funny screen grabs I don't know if they're real where there's

one where it's like hi this is Arnold fig and I need money can you please send me money and then the is like how do I know it's you and then the repli is hos a Vista babe [Laughter] yep that's him I don't know if that's real or not but that's very funny if they thought that would work as a YouTube channel I do watch as a woman who just responds to all those Facebook scammers PR to be people I get text messages and Jenna's always like oh let reply reply I'm like no I don't I don't want to I don't want to deal with it I do because I just want to waste their time I I don't care I just I don't want them annoying me I no interest in talking back to them I I annoy them so much they they don't respond to me yeah and just because they don't it's

annoying cuz I get phone calls and I get excited yes I got a scammer and I answer and I go hello and then they just hang up on me why call me then I just delete and yeah I'm bit worried like cuz I'm blocking a I do block a lot of numbers is that going to be an issue in the future at sometime when someone tries to you get these numbers I I found out uh I I was getting lots and lots and lots and lots of scam phone calls um and I was like the [ __ ] happened and then I did get an alert that said something about my data being leaked um through uh some my health insurance provider there was some issue and I was like a [ __ ] okay that's how they these idiots are getting my phone number Y and um I found out that there's a do not

call register in the US which I've always I think I've heard of that in movies but I didn't actually know that was a real thing and I was like well try it was an official government website yeah like like I checked I filled in the form and I haven't gotten a call since and I was like [ __ ] that was easy how does that why is scame is paying attention to that because because once I do that I think it becomes illegal for them to call me but they're scamming you that's illegal anyway yeah I don't know I don't know or not even uh when I say scam I guess scam is not the right word I guess technically what I'm getting are phone calls from um like loan companies pretending that I have an impr progress application that I don't because they're hoping that you'll pick up okay so they're not actual like

the the scamers they're actual companies just trying to I mean that's a scam to me yeah but like but they're still legitimate at the end of the day it would be not illegal yeah like but I mean I consider that a scam but yeah I think it's a bit dodgy to go yeah you're already halfway through this just blah blah blah from so and so lending just calling about your recent application you've been approved for yada yada yada and I guess they're just hoping people will say oh great or is it the fact with your data being leaked that someone is applying for a loan in your name I hope that's I check that stuff I do check that stuff maybe double check that no no I I I I would get a notific I literally would get a notification if somebody

tried to use my social security number to okay to get Finance on something cuz cuz when I've done it I get alerts they say somebody you're trying to buy a house I'm like yeah that's me buy buy my house yeah exactly yeah well you know what's not a scam what giving us money why is that not a scam because we give you something back like what so if you give us $1 a week you can get the show early a week yeah a week I'm uping it to a week or a month all right all right $11 a month we're changing the terms of the agreement for $5 you will get the Afterparty where we'll keep talking for who knows how long and if you want to give even more money I'll work out something else to give you wink wink wink wink
